	Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) reported that the agreement has incorporated issues like promoting trade between Nepal and India in the interest of both countries, increasing trade relations and sharing information regarding trade, commerce and investment.</p>
<p>
	According to NCC, the agreement also mentions about exchange of bilateral trade delegation as well as organizing international seminars to promote &lsquo;trade mission&rsquo; in an effective way.</p>
<p>
	The NCC has so far signed agreements with 66 international chamber of commerce and industries of different countries with the objective of expanding international trade and bilateral relations.</p>

	NCC chair Rajesh Kaji Shrestha and the deputy director general of Trade Promotion Council of India signed the agreement in New Delhi on Tuesday, according to NCC Director Hari Prakash Chand.</p>

	The state-run news agency reported that the national park has collected Rs 200,000 plus revenue from the visitors so far in the current fiscal year.</p>

	Assistant Conservation Officer of the National Park, Prakash Bahadur Shah, said that more than 1,000 tourists including 29 foreigners have arrived here during this fiscal year.</p>
<p>
	According to the National Park, more visitors from neighbouring districts including Bajura, Achham, Doti and Bajhang visit the national park for inspection and leisure.</p>
<p>
	Domestic tourists can visit the national park for free while the authorities charge Rs 3,390 per person for foreigners.</p>
<p>
	In their bid to boost up the tourism activities, the people at Baglek, the main entrance of Khaptad, are planning to begin home-stay service targeting the visitors. Chief of the Hoteliers&rsquo; Association, Doti, Dipak Bahadur Khakda shared that the home-stay service would be started in 10 houses at Baglek with the joint investment of the rural municipality and hoteliers.</p>

	Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) reported that the KMC had called for suggestions on the theme of &lsquo;Smart City Technology&rsquo; from those willing to participate in the competition, giving a 32-day deadline.</p>

	&ldquo;The competition will be held under four topics and the suggestions related to these themes have been received,&rdquo; RSS quoted KMC&rsquo;s Urban Planning Commission member-secretary Saroj Basnet as saying.</p>
<p>
	He said that the &lsquo;Smart City Technology Competition 2019&rsquo; has been organized with the objective of identifying the problems of Kathmandu city, addressing those problems and exploring new and technology-friendly ways of dealing with the problems.</p>
<p>
	The four topics of the competition are: Community and Environment, Urban Infrastructure Development, Metropolitan Community Service and KMC General Administration and Management.</p>
<p>
	KMC has been collecting suggestions from the participants through the website - www.kathmanduchallenge.org.</p>
<p>
	According to Basnet, 25 best suggestions would be selected from all the suggestions received so far under the first phase. He added that the selection of 100 best suggestions under the four topics would be done by next week. The competition has been divided into six phases.</p>
<p>
	It is said it will take about six months to announce the outstanding suggestions and the winners.</p>

	January 17: Internet Service Providers&rsquo; Association of Nepal (ISPAN) has expressed serious concerns regarding Nepal Electricity Authority&rsquo;s (NEA) unrealistic and exorbitant hike in the fees it has been charging the Internet service providers (ISP) for using the NEA&rsquo;s poles and fibres.</p>
<p>
	Issuing a statement, ISPAN said that the state-run utility has hiked the fees more than 500 percent since the beginning of the current fiscal year.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;We Internet service providers have been serving our customers across the country in an easy and acccessible way at affordable rates using the poles and fibres of the NEA,&rdquo; said the statement, adding, &ldquo;But lately, we are in great dilemma as the rates we have been charging to our customers are based on the old rate charged by the NEA.&rdquo;</p>
<p>
	ISPAN argued that the NEA&rsquo;s decision would adversely affect the National Braodband Policy, which envisages providing Internet service at more affordable rates. As per the policy, ISPs had reached an understanding with the government to internally adjust the 13 percent communication service charge imposed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in order to avoid increasing Internet charge. During the agreement, the government had complied with the ISP&rsquo;s request that none of the government bodies would act in any way that would result in hike in the Internet charge, the statement said.</p>
<p>
	ISPAN said that the NEA&rsquo;s decision to hike the charge is against the agreement reached with the government and that the Internet service providers will not agree to the new terms set by the NEA.</p>
<p>
	ISPAN also warned that the NEA would be responsible for the consequences if the Internet service gets disrupted due to its decision to hike the fees. The association of Internet service providers also urged the government to form a high-level commission having all stakeholders as its members to sort out the problem.</p>

	The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on December 7, 2018 had registered a corruption case against 21 persons including Pandey at the Special Court. The graft case was filed against Pandey and others for carrying out sub-standard works in the Sikta Irrigation Project.</p>

	The anti-graft body registered the case against Pandey on charge of doling out Rs 2.137 billion, demanding penalty of the same amount of money and two years of jail term.</p>

	There are 65 households in Tinkar and 105 households at Chhangru. The two settlements which lie at an altitude of 12,000 feet above the sea level are located in Ward No 1 of Byas Rural Municipality in Darchula district which shares border with the tri-junction of Nepal, India and China.</p>
<p>
	RSS reported that even the security personnel stationed there for guarding the border have left the cantonment. The local government is implementing some development projects in this remote settlement, but these plans are in limbo as there are no people.</p>
<p>
	According to RSS, India and China have maintained strong security by deploying border security forces on their side of the international border, but the Nepali side is unmanned. The Nepali police personnel deployed for securing the border have moved to Dumlingin Ward No 2 of the same rural municipality.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;The security of the village now rests on the hands of the gods and the snow,&rdquo;RSS quoted YashodaTinkari, a woman leader of Tinkar, as saying.</p>
<p>
	China and India have maintained their contingents of their security forces on the tri-junction border at Tinkar since they went to war 47 years back. However, the Nepal has not been able to maintain security at its border settlement, she complained. There is no security post in the settlements which have a population of nearly 1,000.</p>
<p>
	RSS further reported that India increased the size of its security forces in the area by setting up the India Tibet Border Police (ITBP) since the time of the Khampa insurgency in August, 1975. India has stationed its security posts including a garrison of weapons at five places between the border town of Dharchula and Kalapaniat a distance of about 50 kilometres. The ITBP has set up its weapons garrison at Ghattabagar, established camps at Gabryang, Chhyalek and Gunji and the Indian army camp at Kalapani, states the RSS report.</p>

	But the Nepali side has the presence of its security forces at the only transit point in Tinkar, north of Darchula for only six months a year.</p>
<p>
	According to RSS, the security personnel stay at the border police post only for six months in the summer and abandon the camp for six months during the winter.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;We cannot station the police personnel at the Tinkar border during the winter due to unfavourable weather,&rdquo; officiating chief of the Darchula Police, HikmatBohara, said.</p>

	Issuing a statement, ISPAN said that the state-run utility has hiked the fees more than 500 percent since the beginning of the current fiscal year.</p>

	&ldquo;We Internet service providers have been serving our customers across the country in an easy and acccessible way at affordable rates using the poles and fibres of the NEA,&rdquo; said the statement, adding, &ldquo;But lately, we are in great dilemma as the rates we have been charging to our customers are based on the old rate charged by the NEA.&rdquo;</p>
<p>
	ISPAN argued that the NEA&rsquo;s decision would adversely affect the National Braodband Policy, which envisages providing Internet service at more affordable rates. As per the policy, ISPs had reached an understanding with the government to internally adjust the 13 percent communication service charge imposed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in order to avoid increasing Internet charge. During the agreement, the government had complied with the ISP&rsquo;s request that none of the government bodies would act in any way that would result in hike in the Internet charge, the statement said.</p>
<p>
	ISPAN said that the NEA&rsquo;s decision to hike the charge is against the agreement reached with the government and that the Internet service providers will not agree to the new terms set by the NEA.</p>
<p>
	ISPAN also warned that the NEA would be responsible for the consequences if the Internet service gets disrupted due to its decision to hike the fees. The association of Internet service providers also urged the government to form a high-level commission having all stakeholders as its members to sort out the problem.</p>

	Ghising is credited for ending the frequent power cuts that the country had been facing since a long time, demonstrating his ability as an able manager after his appointment to the post of executive director of NEA for a four-year-term in 2016.</p>

	A statement issued by IPPAN says that Ghising demonstrated his ability by steering the state-run utility, which was reeling under a loss of Rs 8.89 billion, to a profit-making organisation by introducing financial and administrative reforms as well as restructuring the NEA.</p>

	He adopted measures to control electricity leakage and theft. He also took initiative to improve customer service, revenue collection, and minimizing technical leakage of electricity by upgrading the standard of transformers and distribution lines.</p>

They prefer not to stay back in the villages during winter alsodue to lack of security. The state-run news agency RastriyaSamacharSamiti (RSS) reported that the entire village is covered with snow at present.</p>
<p>
	There are 65 households in Tinkar and 105 households at Chhangru. The two settlements which lie at an altitude of 12,000 feet above the sea level are located in Ward No 1 of Byas Rural Municipality in Darchula district which shares border with the tri-junction of Nepal, India and China.</p>
<p>
	RSS reported that even the security personnel stationed there for guarding the border have left the cantonment. The local government is implementing some development projects in this remote settlement, but these plans are in limbo as there are no people.</p>
<p>
	According to RSS, India and China have maintained strong security by deploying border security forces on their side of the international border, but the Nepali side is unmanned. The Nepali police personnel deployed for securing the border have moved to Dumlingin Ward No 2 of the same rural municipality.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;The security of the village now rests on the hands of the gods and the snow,&rdquo;RSS quoted YashodaTinkari, a woman leader of Tinkar, as saying.</p>
<p>
	China and India have maintained their contingents of their security forces on the tri-junction border at Tinkar since they went to war 47 years back. However, the Nepal has not been able to maintain security at its border settlement, she complained. There is no security post in the settlements which have a population of nearly 1,000.</p>
<p>
	RSS further reported that India increased the size of its security forces in the area by setting up the India Tibet Border Police (ITBP) since the time of the Khampa insurgency in August, 1975. India has stationed its security posts including a garrison of weapons at five places between the border town of Dharchula and Kalapaniat a distance of about 50 kilometres. The ITBP has set up its weapons garrison at Ghattabagar, established camps at Gabryang, Chhyalek and Gunji and the Indian army camp at Kalapani, states the RSS report.</p>
<p>
	But the Nepali side has the presence of its security forces at the only transit point in Tinkar, north of Darchula for only six months a year.</p>
<p>
	According to RSS, the security personnel stay at the border police post only for six months in the summer and abandon the camp for six months during the winter.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;We cannot station the police personnel at the Tinkar border during the winter due to unfavourable weather,&rdquo; officiating chief of the Darchula Police, HikmatBohara, said.</p>

	Issuing a statement, ISPAN said that the state-run utility has hiked the fees more than 500 percent since the beginning of the current fiscal year.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;We Internet service providers have been serving our customers across the country in an easy and acccessible way at affordable rates using the poles and fibres of the NEA,&rdquo; said the statement, adding, &ldquo;But lately, we are in great dilemma as the rates we have been charging to our customers are based on the old rate charged by the NEA.&rdquo;</p>
<p>
	ISPAN argued that the NEA&rsquo;s decision would adversely affect the National Braodband Policy, which envisages providing Internet service at more affordable rates. As per the policy, ISPs had reached an understanding with the government to internally adjust the 13 percent communication service charge imposed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in order to avoid increasing Internet charge. During the agreement, the government had complied with the ISP&rsquo;s request that none of the government bodies would act in any way that would result in hike in the Internet charge, the statement said.</p>
<p>
	ISPAN said that the NEA&rsquo;s decision to hike the charge is against the agreement reached with the government and that the Internet service providers will not agree to the new terms set by the NEA.</p>
<p>

The state-run news agency RastriyaSamacharSamiti (RSS) reported that the entire village is covered with snow at present.</p>
<p>
	There are 65 households in Tinkar and 105 households at Chhangru. The two settlements which lie at an altitude of 12,000 feet above the sea level are located in Ward No 1 of Byas Rural Municipality in Darchula district which shares border with the tri-junction of Nepal, India and China.</p>
<p>
	RSS reported that even the security personnel stationed there for guarding the border have left the cantonment. The local government is implementing some development projects in this remote settlement, but these plans are in limbo as there are no people.</p>
<p>
	According to RSS, India and China have maintained strong security by deploying border security forces on their side of the international border, but the Nepali side is unmanned. The Nepali police personnel deployed for securing the border have moved to Dumlingin Ward No 2 of the same rural municipality.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;The security of the village now rests on the hands of the gods and the snow,&rdquo;RSS quoted YashodaTinkari, a woman leader of Tinkar, as saying.</p>
<p>
	China and India have maintained their contingents of their security forces on the tri-junction border at Tinkar since they went to war 47 years back. However, the Nepal has not been able to maintain security at its border settlement, she complained. There is no security post in the settlements which have a population of nearly 1,000.</p>
<p>
	RSS further reported that India increased the size of its security forces in the area by setting up the India Tibet Border Police (ITBP) since the time of the Khampa insurgency in August, 1975. India has stationed its security posts including a garrison of weapons at five places between the border town of Dharchula and Kalapaniat a distance of about 50 kilometres. The ITBP has set up its weapons garrison at Ghattabagar, established camps at Gabryang, Chhyalek and Gunji and the Indian army camp at Kalapani, states the RSS report.</p>
<p>
	But the Nepali side has the presence of its security forces at the only transit point in Tinkar, north of Darchula for only six months a year.</p>
<p>
	According to RSS, the security personnel stay at the border police post only for six months in the summer and abandon the camp for six months during the winter.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;We cannot station the police personnel at the Tinkar border during the winter due to unfavourable weather,&rdquo; officiating chief of the Darchula Police, HikmatBohara, said.</p>

	Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) reported that the agreement has incorporated issues like promoting trade between Nepal and India in the interest of both countries, increasing trade relations and sharing information regarding trade, commerce and investment.</p>
<p>
	According to NCC, the agreement also mentions about exchange of bilateral trade delegation as well as organizing international seminars to promote &lsquo;trade mission&rsquo; in an effective way.</p>
<p>
	The NCC has so far signed agreements with 66 international chamber of commerce and industries of different countries with the objective of expanding international trade and bilateral relations.</p>
<p>
	NCC chair Rajesh Kaji Shrestha and the deputy director general of Trade Promotion Council of India signed the agreement in New Delhi on Tuesday, according to NCC Director Hari Prakash Chand.</p>

	The state-run news agency reported that the national park has collected Rs 200,000 plus revenue from the visitors so far in the current fiscal year.</p>

	Assistant Conservation Officer of the National Park, Prakash Bahadur Shah, said that more than 1,000 tourists including 29 foreigners have arrived here during this fiscal year.</p>
<p>
	According to the National Park, more visitors from neighbouring districts including Bajura, Achham, Doti and Bajhang visit the national park for inspection and leisure.</p>

	Domestic tourists can visit the national park for free while the authorities charge Rs 3,390 per person for foreigners.</p>
<p>
	In their bid to boost up the tourism activities, the people at Baglek, the main entrance of Khaptad, are planning to begin home-stay service targeting the visitors. Chief of the Hoteliers&rsquo; Association, Doti, Dipak Bahadur Khakda shared that the home-stay service would be started in 10 houses at Baglek with the joint investment of the rural municipality and hoteliers.</p>

	&ldquo;The competition will be held under four topics and the suggestions related to these themes have been received,&rdquo; RSS quoted KMC&rsquo;s Urban Planning Commission member-secretary Saroj Basnet as saying.</p>
<p>
	He said that the &lsquo;Smart City Technology Competition 2019&rsquo; has been organized with the objective of identifying the problems of Kathmandu city, addressing those problems and exploring new and technology-friendly ways of dealing with the problems.</p>
<p>
	The four topics of the competition are: Community and Environment, Urban Infrastructure Development, Metropolitan Community Service and KMC General Administration and Management.</p>
<p>
	KMC has been collecting suggestions from the participants through the website - www.kathmanduchallenge.org.</p>
<p>
	According to Basnet, 25 best suggestions would be selected from all the suggestions received so far under the first phase. He added that the selection of 100 best suggestions under the four topics would be done by next week. The competition has been divided into six phases.</p>
<p>
	It is said it will take about six months to announce the outstanding suggestions and the winners.</p>

	January 17: Internet Service Providers&rsquo; Association of Nepal (ISPAN) has expressed serious concerns regarding Nepal Electricity Authority&rsquo;s (NEA) unrealistic and exorbitant hike in the fees it has been charging the Internet service providers (ISP) for using the NEA&rsquo;s poles and fibres.</p>

	Issuing a statement, ISPAN said that the state-run utility has hiked the fees more than 500 percent since the beginning of the current fiscal year.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;We Internet service providers have been serving our customers across the country in an easy and acccessible way at affordable rates using the poles and fibres of the NEA,&rdquo; said the statement, adding, &ldquo;But lately, we are in great dilemma as the rates we have been charging to our customers are based on the old rate charged by the NEA.&rdquo;</p>
<p>
	ISPAN argued that the NEA&rsquo;s decision would adversely affect the National Braodband Policy, which envisages providing Internet service at more affordable rates. As per the policy, ISPs had reached an understanding with the government to internally adjust the 13 percent communication service charge imposed by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in order to avoid increasing Internet charge. During the agreement, the government had complied with the ISP&rsquo;s request that none of the government bodies would act in any way that would result in hike in the Internet charge, the statement said.</p>
<p>
	ISPAN said that the NEA&rsquo;s decision to hike the charge is against the agreement reached with the government and that the Internet service providers will not agree to the new terms set by the NEA.</p>
<p>
	ISPAN also warned that the NEA would be responsible for the consequences if the Internet service gets disrupted due to its decision to hike the fees. The association of Internet service providers also urged the government to form a high-level commission having all stakeholders as its members to sort out the problem.</p>

They prefer not to stay back in the villages during winter alsodue to lack of security. The state-run news agency RastriyaSamacharSamiti (RSS) reported that the entire village is covered with snow at present.</p>
<p>
	There are 65 households in Tinkar and 105 households at Chhangru. The two settlements which lie at an altitude of 12,000 feet above the sea level are located in Ward No 1 of Byas Rural Municipality in Darchula district which shares border with the tri-junction of Nepal, India and China.</p>
<p>
	RSS reported that even the security personnel stationed there for guarding the border have left the cantonment. The local government is implementing some development projects in this remote settlement, but these plans are in limbo as there are no people.</p>
<p>
	According to RSS, India and China have maintained strong security by deploying border security forces on their side of the international border, but the Nepali side is unmanned. The Nepali police personnel deployed for securing the border have moved to Dumlingin Ward No 2 of the same rural municipality.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;The security of the village now rests on the hands of the gods and the snow,&rdquo;RSS quoted YashodaTinkari, a woman leader of Tinkar, as saying.</p>
<p>
	China and India have maintained their contingents of their security forces on the tri-junction border at Tinkar since they went to war 47 years back. However, the Nepal has not been able to maintain security at its border settlement, she complained. There is no security post in the settlements which have a population of nearly 1,000.</p>
<p>
	RSS further reported that India increased the size of its security forces in the area by setting up the India Tibet Border Police (ITBP) since the time of the Khampa insurgency in August, 1975. India has stationed its security posts including a garrison of weapons at five places between the border town of Dharchula and Kalapaniat a distance of about 50 kilometres. The ITBP has set up its weapons garrison at Ghattabagar, established camps at Gabryang, Chhyalek and Gunji and the Indian army camp at Kalapani, states the RSS report.</p>
<p>
	But the Nepali side has the presence of its security forces at the only transit point in Tinkar, north of Darchula for only six months a year.</p>
<p>
	According to RSS, the security personnel stay at the border police post only for six months in the summer and abandon the camp for six months during the winter.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;We cannot station the police personnel at the Tinkar border during the winter due to unfavourable weather,&rdquo; officiating chief of the Darchula Police, HikmatBohara, said.</p>

	January 17:&nbsp; Qatar Airways, the official airline partner of FC Bayern Munich, announced the successful completion of the football giant&rsquo;s winter camp in Doha from January 4 to 10.</p>

	Bayern Munich&rsquo;s winter camp, now in its 9th consecutive year, is part of the football club&rsquo;s annual preparations for the second part of the Bundesliga football season, the airline said in a statement.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;FC Bayern Munich has been visiting Doha to participate in its January winter training camp since 2011, to avail of the world-class facilities available to them at Aspire Zone,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>
<p>
	According to Qatar Airways, the players were flown to Doha on board its state-of-the-art Airbus A350-1000. During their stay, three Bayern Munich players: Thomas M&uuml;ller, Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry, had the opportunity to visit the Legacy Pavilion, where they were able to view models of the stadia that will serve as venues for the the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar, as well as the iconic Museum of Islamic Art.</p>

	Skyworth also received a product award, the AI Smart Dual Ecosystem TV Experience Gold Award for its product 65S9A/XA9000, which supports Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. With powerful built-in PQ processor, the TV can display the best image and create an extraordinary experience for audience, the statement said.</p>

	Besides 65S9/XA900, Skyworth also displayed other latest products and technologies at the CES, including 277-inch super narrow bezel TV wall, 8K OLED TV, 82&rdquo; Flush Mount TV, 65&rdquo; Quasi-pixel backlight TV among others.</p>
