	January 24: The number of tourists visiting Chitwan National Park (CNP) has increased, according to a news report published by Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS).</p>

	According to the state-run news agency, tourist arrival at the national park increased by 21,028 in the first six months of the current fiscal year compared to the corresponding period of last fiscal year.</p>
<p>
	CNP&rsquo;s Information Officer Gopal Ghimire informed RSS that a total 88,151 tourists visited the national park until January 14 of the current fiscal year. Among them, 18,734 are Nepalis, 10,338 are from SAARC countries and 59,079 are from other countries.</p>
<p>
	The number of tourists visiting the national park until mid-January of the last fiscal year was 67,123.</p>
<p>
	According to Ghimire, CNP has collected revenue of around Rs 150 million from tourist entry fees in the first six months of the current fiscal year. The same was Rs 237 million for the entire fiscal year last season. A total of 152,671 tourists had visited CNP last year.</p>
<p>
	CNP&rsquo;s chief conservation officer Ved Kumar Dhakal said the revenue has increased along with the rise in the number of visitors. He said that they have set the target to welcome 200,000 tourists in the current fiscal year.</p>

	Food Festival at Sauraha on Feb 11</p>
<p>
	Meanwhile, the Restaurant and Bar Association (REBAN) Sauraha is going to organize the Sauraha Food Festival from February 11 on the occasion of St Valentine&rsquo;s Day. The festival will be held at Sishwar playground at Ratnanagar Municipality-7 and will last until February 15.</p>
<p>
	Various cuisines will be offered in the food festival. Cultural programmes will also be organized, REBAN&rsquo;s president Gokarna Giri said. Volleyball competition, tourists&rsquo; race, waiters&rsquo; race and children&rsquo;s games would also be organized as part of the event.</p>
<p>
	There are 110 hotels including 60 restaurants in Sauraha.</p>

	Provincial Assembly member of Karnali Province, Bir Bahadur Shahi, informed New Business Age that the the snowfall has obstructed most of the routes in the district.</p>

	The daily activities of eight rural municipalities of the district have been badly affected by the snowfall.</p>

	The snowfall has also disrupted electricity in most of the areas of the district.</p>

	According to the local units of Dolpa, areas in upper Dolpa including Kaike, Phoksundo, Charka, Tangsong experienced snowfall since Monday evening. Lower areas of Dolpa like Jagdulla, Mudkechula, Thuli Bheri, Tripura Sundari received snowfall only on Tuesday, which continued till the next day. Temperature in northern parts of the district has dropped to sub-zero degree.</p>

	Ramit Budha, a local of Mudkechula said that the excessive cold has prevented students from attending schools while the villagers have been facing problems to graze their cattle.</p>
<p>
	The snowfall has also disrupted daily flights at Jufal-based airport in Dolpa.</p>
<p>
	However, farmers have expressed happiness as the snowfall would result in good crops this season.</p>

	The rain brought by the westerly winds in the western parts of the country since Monday night has reached the central and eastern parts, meteorologist Sameer Shrestha told RSS.</p>

	According to him, this trend will continue through Wednesday night with a brief respite in the afternoon.</p>
<p>
	The weather will be cloudy throughout the day across the country including the Kathmandu Valley with the possibility of light to moderate rainfall in most of the places.</p>
<p>
	The Meteorological Forecasting Division has stated that the high hills surrounding the Kathmandu Valley including Phulchoki and Chandragiri received snowfall.</p>
<p>
	Similarly, snowfall is taking place in the high mountainous areas of western Nepal. This weather system will prevail until Thursday in the western parts of the country. It is said the precipitation will continue until some more days.</p>
<p>
	Meteorologist Shrestha said that although this system will diminish for a day on Thursday, it will again become active from Friday triggering more precipitation.</p>
<p>
	The RSS reported that the temperature will further plummet increasing the cold as rainfall and snowfall are occurring in most parts of the country. The minimum temperature in Kathmandu had dropped to zero degree Celsius this year. Shrestha however said that the temperature in the Valley will not drop to sub-zero degree despite an increase in cold due to the rain. Kathmandu received 8.1 millimetres of rainfall on Wednesday.</p>

	The telecom company said in a statement that it signed a MoU in this regard with the project which is being implemented by Helen Keller International Nepal. As a telecom partner, Smart Telecom has pledged to provide free SIM cards to selected Suaahara beneficiaries as well as volunteers at Rs 99 per SIM card.</p>
<p>
	Smart Telecom had earlier announced to distribute 6,000 SIM cards in two of Suaahara II program districts &ndash; Nuwakot and Kapilvastu.</p>
<p>
	Smart has already implemented and distributed 3500 Smart SIMs to beneficiaries in Nuwakot in the first phase of the program and will be fulfilling its commitment in the next phase.</p>
<p>
	The partnership will help the mothers communicate via their mobile phones free for 1000 days with Suaahara&rsquo;s frontline workers. In the process, the frontline workers can work efficiently and communicate frequently with the mothers to provide them real time counselling and technical support.</p>
<p>
	One of Suaahara&rsquo;s major challenges has been reaching out to individual households due to the rough topography and unavailability of safe public transportation. The free SIM which also provides 100 minutes free talk time in a closed user group will support the program&rsquo;s frontline workers to frequently reach out to the mothers and continue follow up.</p>
<p>
	Real time counselling along with continuous follow up with the mothers is crucial in changing their behaviours to improve their and their children&rsquo;s nutrition status.</p>
<p>
	The USAID-supported Suaahara II program is working to improve the nutritional status of women and children in at least 1.5 million households across 40 districts of Nepal. This will be achieved through multi-sectoral partnerships with the Government of Nepal, the private sector, and other development partners.</p>

	According to the state-run news agency, tourist arrival at the national park increased by 21,028 in the first six months of the current fiscal year compared to the corresponding period of last fiscal year.</p>
<p>
	CNP&rsquo;s Information Officer Gopal Ghimire informed RSS that a total 88,151 tourists visited the national park until January 14 of the current fiscal year. Among them, 18,734 are Nepalis, 10,338 are from SAARC countries and 59,079 are from other countries.</p>
<p>
	The number of tourists visiting the national park until mid-January of the last fiscal year was 67,123.</p>
<p>
	According to Ghimire, CNP has collected revenue of around Rs 150 million from tourist entry fees in the first six months of the current fiscal year. The same was Rs 237 million for the entire fiscal year last season. A total of 152,671 tourists had visited CNP last year.</p>
<p>
	CNP&rsquo;s chief conservation officer Ved Kumar Dhakal said the revenue has increased along with the rise in the number of visitors. He said that they have set the target to welcome 200,000 tourists in the current fiscal year.</p>

	Food Festival at Sauraha on Feb 11</p>

	Meanwhile, the Restaurant and Bar Association (REBAN) Sauraha is going to organize the Sauraha Food Festival from February 11 on the occasion of St Valentine&rsquo;s Day. The festival will be held at Sishwar playground at Ratnanagar Municipality-7 and will last until February 15.</p>
<p>
	Various cuisines will be offered in the food festival. Cultural programmes will also be organized, REBAN&rsquo;s president Gokarna Giri said. Volleyball competition, tourists&rsquo; race, waiters&rsquo; race and children&rsquo;s games would also be organized as part of the event.</p>

	There are 110 hotels including 60 restaurants in Sauraha.</p>

	The rain brought by the westerly winds in the western parts of the country since Monday night has reached the central and eastern parts, meteorologist Sameer Shrestha told RSS.</p>

	According to him, this trend will continue through Wednesday night with a brief respite in the afternoon.</p>
<p>
	The weather will be cloudy throughout the day across the country including the Kathmandu Valley with the possibility of light to moderate rainfall in most of the places.</p>
<p>
	The Meteorological Forecasting Division has stated that the high hills surrounding the Kathmandu Valley including Phulchoki and Chandragiri received snowfall.</p>
<p>
	Similarly, snowfall is taking place in the high mountainous areas of western Nepal. This weather system will prevail until Thursday in the western parts of the country. It is said the precipitation will continue until some more days.</p>
<p>
	Meteorologist Shrestha said that although this system will diminish for a day on Thursday, it will again become active from Friday triggering more precipitation.</p>
<p>
	The RSS reported that the temperature will further plummet increasing the cold as rainfall and snowfall are occurring in most parts of the country. The minimum temperature in Kathmandu had dropped to zero degree Celsius this year. Shrestha however said that the temperature in the Valley will not drop to sub-zero degree despite an increase in cold due to the rain. Kathmandu received 8.1 millimetres of rainfall on Wednesday.</p>

	Addressing the meet, President of CNI Hari Bhakta Sharma said that the objective of the summit is to share past experiences, present situation and future possibilities with the government and investors in an effective way.</p>

	&ldquo;The summit will bring all the province ministers for industries, entrepreneurs, investors, business graduates, among others under the same roof to discuss on the theme &lsquo;Federal Nepal: Opportunities for Investment and Growth,&rdquo; he said, adding that the main objective of the summit is to identify potential entrepreneurs for growth of the entire business ecosystem.</p>

	He further said that the country has immense opportunities for economic growth, but there has been very minimal investment in the industrial sector.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;With the adoption of federal system by the country, there is a need to create conducive business environment. Economic transformation is only possible when the innovative ideas of youths are leveraged by the central, provincial and local governments,&rdquo; Sharma said.</p>

	The telecom company said in a statement that it signed a MoU in this regard with the project which is being implemented by Helen Keller International Nepal. As a telecom partner, Smart Telecom has pledged to provide free SIM cards to selected Suaahara beneficiaries as well as volunteers at Rs 99 per SIM card.</p>
<p>
	Smart Telecom had earlier announced to distribute 6,000 SIM cards in two of Suaahara II program districts &ndash; Nuwakot and Kapilvastu.</p>
<p>
	Smart has already implemented and distributed 3500 Smart SIMs to beneficiaries in Nuwakot in the first phase of the program and will be fulfilling its commitment in the next phase.</p>
<p>
	The partnership will help the mothers communicate via their mobile phones free for 1000 days with Suaahara&rsquo;s frontline workers. In the process, the frontline workers can work efficiently and communicate frequently with the mothers to provide them real time counselling and technical support.</p>
<p>
	One of Suaahara&rsquo;s major challenges has been reaching out to individual households due to the rough topography and unavailability of safe public transportation. The free SIM which also provides 100 minutes free talk time in a closed user group will support the program&rsquo;s frontline workers to frequently reach out to the mothers and continue follow up.</p>
<p>
	Real time counselling along with continuous follow up with the mothers is crucial in changing their behaviours to improve their and their children&rsquo;s nutrition status.</p>
<p>
	The USAID-supported Suaahara II program is working to improve the nutritional status of women and children in at least 1.5 million households across 40 districts of Nepal. This will be achieved through multi-sectoral partnerships with the Government of Nepal, the private sector, and other development partners.</p>

	According to the state-run news agency, tourist arrival at the national park increased by 21,028 in the first six months of the current fiscal year compared to the corresponding period of last fiscal year.</p>
<p>
	CNP&rsquo;s Information Officer Gopal Ghimire informed RSS that a total 88,151 tourists visited the national park until January 14 of the current fiscal year. Among them, 18,734 are Nepalis, 10,338 are from SAARC countries and 59,079 are from other countries.</p>
<p>
	The number of tourists visiting the national park until mid-January of the last fiscal year was 67,123.</p>
<p>
	According to Ghimire, CNP has collected revenue of around Rs 150 million from tourist entry fees in the first six months of the current fiscal year. The same was Rs 237 million for the entire fiscal year last season. A total of 152,671 tourists had visited CNP last year.</p>
<p>
	CNP&rsquo;s chief conservation officer Ved Kumar Dhakal said the revenue has increased along with the rise in the number of visitors. He said that they have set the target to welcome 200,000 tourists in the current fiscal year.</p>

	Food Festival at Sauraha on Feb 11</p>

	Meanwhile, the Restaurant and Bar Association (REBAN) Sauraha is going to organize the Sauraha Food Festival from February 11 on the occasion of St Valentine&rsquo;s Day. The festival will be held at Sishwar playground at Ratnanagar Municipality-7 and will last until February 15.</p>
<p>
	Various cuisines will be offered in the food festival. Cultural programmes will also be organized, REBAN&rsquo;s president Gokarna Giri said. Volleyball competition, tourists&rsquo; race, waiters&rsquo; race and children&rsquo;s games would also be organized as part of the event.</p>
<p>
	There are 110 hotels including 60 restaurants in Sauraha.</p>

	According to the local units of Dolpa, areas in upper Dolpa including Kaike, Phoksundo, Charka, Tangsong experienced snowfall since Monday evening. Lower areas of Dolpa like Jagdulla, Mudkechula, Thuli Bheri, Tripura Sundari received snowfall only on Tuesday, which continued till the next day. Temperature in northern parts of the district has dropped to sub-zero degree.</p>

	Ramit Budha, a local of Mudkechula said that the excessive cold has prevented students from attending schools while the villagers have been facing problems to graze their cattle.</p>
<p>
	The snowfall has also disrupted daily flights at Jufal-based airport in Dolpa.</p>
<p>
	However, farmers have expressed happiness as the snowfall would result in good crops this season.</p>

	The rain brought by the westerly winds in the western parts of the country since Monday night has reached the central and eastern parts, meteorologist Sameer Shrestha told RSS.</p>

	According to him, this trend will continue through Wednesday night with a brief respite in the afternoon.</p>
<p>
	The weather will be cloudy throughout the day across the country including the Kathmandu Valley with the possibility of light to moderate rainfall in most of the places.</p>
<p>
	The Meteorological Forecasting Division has stated that the high hills surrounding the Kathmandu Valley including Phulchoki and Chandragiri received snowfall.</p>
<p>
	Similarly, snowfall is taking place in the high mountainous areas of western Nepal. This weather system will prevail until Thursday in the western parts of the country. It is said the precipitation will continue until some more days.</p>
<p>
	Meteorologist Shrestha said that although this system will diminish for a day on Thursday, it will again become active from Friday triggering more precipitation.</p>
<p>
	The RSS reported that the temperature will further plummet increasing the cold as rainfall and snowfall are occurring in most parts of the country. The minimum temperature in Kathmandu had dropped to zero degree Celsius this year. Shrestha however said that the temperature in the Valley will not drop to sub-zero degree despite an increase in cold due to the rain. Kathmandu received 8.1 millimetres of rainfall on Wednesday.</p>

	The telecom company said in a statement that it signed a MoU in this regard with the project which is being implemented by Helen Keller International Nepal. As a telecom partner, Smart Telecom has pledged to provide free SIM cards to selected Suaahara beneficiaries as well as volunteers at Rs 99 per SIM card.</p>

	Smart Telecom had earlier announced to distribute 6,000 SIM cards in two of Suaahara II program districts &ndash; Nuwakot and Kapilvastu.</p>
<p>
	Smart has already implemented and distributed 3500 Smart SIMs to beneficiaries in Nuwakot in the first phase of the program and will be fulfilling its commitment in the next phase.</p>
<p>
	The partnership will help the mothers communicate via their mobile phones free for 1000 days with Suaahara&rsquo;s frontline workers. In the process, the frontline workers can work efficiently and communicate frequently with the mothers to provide them real time counselling and technical support.</p>
<p>
	One of Suaahara&rsquo;s major challenges has been reaching out to individual households due to the rough topography and unavailability of safe public transportation. The free SIM which also provides 100 minutes free talk time in a closed user group will support the program&rsquo;s frontline workers to frequently reach out to the mothers and continue follow up.</p>
<p>
	Real time counselling along with continuous follow up with the mothers is crucial in changing their behaviours to improve their and their children&rsquo;s nutrition status.</p>
<p>
	The USAID-supported Suaahara II program is working to improve the nutritional status of women and children in at least 1.5 million households across 40 districts of Nepal. This will be achieved through multi-sectoral partnerships with the Government of Nepal, the private sector, and other development partners.</p>

	According to the state-run news agency, tourist arrival at the national park increased by 21,028 in the first six months of the current fiscal year compared to the corresponding period of last fiscal year.</p>
<p>
	CNP&rsquo;s Information Officer Gopal Ghimire informed RSS that a total 88,151 tourists visited the national park until January 14 of the current fiscal year. Among them, 18,734 are Nepalis, 10,338 are from SAARC countries and 59,079 are from other countries.</p>
<p>
	The number of tourists visiting the national park until mid-January of the last fiscal year was 67,123.</p>
<p>
	According to Ghimire, CNP has collected revenue of around Rs 150 million from tourist entry fees in the first six months of the current fiscal year. The same was Rs 237 million for the entire fiscal year last season. A total of 152,671 tourists had visited CNP last year.</p>
<p>
	CNP&rsquo;s chief conservation officer Ved Kumar Dhakal said the revenue has increased along with the rise in the number of visitors. He said that they have set the target to welcome 200,000 tourists in the current fiscal year.</p>

	Food Festival at Sauraha on Feb 11</p>
<p>
	Meanwhile, the Restaurant and Bar Association (REBAN) Sauraha is going to organize the Sauraha Food Festival from February 11 on the occasion of St Valentine&rsquo;s Day. The festival will be held at Sishwar playground at Ratnanagar Municipality-7 and will last until February 15.</p>
<p>
	Various cuisines will be offered in the food festival. Cultural programmes will also be organized, REBAN&rsquo;s president Gokarna Giri said. Volleyball competition, tourists&rsquo; race, waiters&rsquo; race and children&rsquo;s games would also be organized as part of the event.</p>
<p>
	There are 110 hotels including 60 restaurants in Sauraha.</p>

	According to the local units of Dolpa, areas in upper Dolpa including Kaike, Phoksundo, Charka, Tangsong experienced snowfall since Monday evening. Lower areas of Dolpa like Jagdulla, Mudkechula, Thuli Bheri, Tripura Sundari received snowfall only on Tuesday, which continued till the next day. Temperature in northern parts of the district has dropped to sub-zero degree.</p>

	Ramit Budha, a local of Mudkechula said that the excessive cold has prevented students from attending schools while the villagers have been facing problems to graze their cattle.</p>

	The snowfall has also disrupted daily flights at Jufal-based airport in Dolpa.</p>

	However, farmers have expressed happiness as the snowfall would result in good crops this season.</p>

	The rain brought by the westerly winds in the western parts of the country since Monday night has reached the central and eastern parts, meteorologist Sameer Shrestha told RSS.</p>

	According to him, this trend will continue through Wednesday night with a brief respite in the afternoon.</p>
<p>
	The weather will be cloudy throughout the day across the country including the Kathmandu Valley with the possibility of light to moderate rainfall in most of the places.</p>
<p>
	The Meteorological Forecasting Division has stated that the high hills surrounding the Kathmandu Valley including Phulchoki and Chandragiri received snowfall.</p>
<p>
	Similarly, snowfall is taking place in the high mountainous areas of western Nepal. This weather system will prevail until Thursday in the western parts of the country. It is said the precipitation will continue until some more days.</p>
<p>
	Meteorologist Shrestha said that although this system will diminish for a day on Thursday, it will again become active from Friday triggering more precipitation.</p>
<p>
	The RSS reported that the temperature will further plummet increasing the cold as rainfall and snowfall are occurring in most parts of the country. The minimum temperature in Kathmandu had dropped to zero degree Celsius this year. Shrestha however said that the temperature in the Valley will not drop to sub-zero degree despite an increase in cold due to the rain. Kathmandu received 8.1 millimetres of rainfall on Wednesday.</p>

	He further said that the country has immense opportunities for economic growth, but there has been very minimal investment in the industrial sector.</p>

	The telecom company said in a statement that it signed a MoU in this regard with the project which is being implemented by Helen Keller International Nepal. As a telecom partner, Smart Telecom has pledged to provide free SIM cards to selected Suaahara beneficiaries as well as volunteers at Rs 99 per SIM card.</p>

	Smart Telecom had earlier announced to distribute 6,000 SIM cards in two of Suaahara II program districts &ndash; Nuwakot and Kapilvastu.</p>
<p>
	Smart has already implemented and distributed 3500 Smart SIMs to beneficiaries in Nuwakot in the first phase of the program and will be fulfilling its commitment in the next phase.</p>
<p>
	The partnership will help the mothers communicate via their mobile phones free for 1000 days with Suaahara&rsquo;s frontline workers. In the process, the frontline workers can work efficiently and communicate frequently with the mothers to provide them real time counselling and technical support.</p>
<p>
	One of Suaahara&rsquo;s major challenges has been reaching out to individual households due to the rough topography and unavailability of safe public transportation. The free SIM which also provides 100 minutes free talk time in a closed user group will support the program&rsquo;s frontline workers to frequently reach out to the mothers and continue follow up.</p>
<p>
	Real time counselling along with continuous follow up with the mothers is crucial in changing their behaviours to improve their and their children&rsquo;s nutrition status.</p>
<p>
	The USAID-supported Suaahara II program is working to improve the nutritional status of women and children in at least 1.5 million households across 40 districts of Nepal. This will be achieved through multi-sectoral partnerships with the Government of Nepal, the private sector, and other development partners.</p>
