	Issuing a press statement, the investment company said that the signatories will work together to meet the financial requirements of investee companies awaiting foreign investments, under a bridge finance arrangement.</p>
<p>
	According to the statement, One to Watch will take on the role of identifying entities with viable investment opportunities and provide linkages to them for financing from foreign investment while NMB Bank shall provide bridge financing facilities for the investee companies of One to Watch for an interim period before the approval of foreign investment.</p>
<p>
	Willem Grimminck, managing director of One to Watch, and Sunil KC, CEO of NMB Bank, signed the agreement amid a function in Kathmandu on Wednesday, January 30.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;The collaboration is aimed at bridging the interim financial gap present due to the timeline involved in obtaining regulatory approvals for foreign investment,&rdquo; the statement read.</p>

The port authorities have decided to adopt the electronic cargo tracking system (ECTS) instead of the paperwork. This has threatened the business of the local transport entrepreneurs. Hence, the middlemen who will face loss in business due to this decision took to the streets. The protests which started on Tuesday continued on Wednesday as well.</p>

	The airline company said in a statement that night flights to the airport are possible with the setup of RNAV (area navigation), which allows flights even in low visibility.</p>

	&ldquo;This allows night flights to be operated safely as well. This technology has been adopted worldwide for safe air operations,&rdquo; the statement said.&nbsp;</p>
<p>
	Earlier, this technology was not available at Bhadrapur Airport, forcing the airlines to cancel or delay flights to Bhadrapur due to low visibility and flights could not be operated after sunset, Buddha Air said. This led to a huge burden on travelers and financial burden on airline operators.&nbsp;</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;With the aim of providing the safest, most reliable and comfortable means of air transport, our flights have been instrumental in changing the landscape of Bhadrapur. Domestic and international travelers fly to Bhadrapur daily. This has led to an increase in employment and expansion of local market and tourism in Bhadrapur,&rdquo; the statement added.&nbsp;</p>
<p>
	Buddha Air said that CAAN&#39;s team also helped in successfully implementing infrastructures for RNAV and runway light installation at Dhangadhi Airport a few months ago. This allowed airline operators to conduct safe night flights to Dhangadhi Airport as well.</p>

	&ldquo;With close coordination with CAAN, we are hopeful to expand infrastructures to other airports in Tumlingtar, Surkhet and Bharatpur as well.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

	Buddha Air said that Janakpur Airport will also be equipped with RNAV technology in the coming months in collaboration with CAAN and airport authorities. Once test flight is successful, Buddha Air said it will be operating commercial night flights to Janakpur Airport as well.&nbsp;</p>

	The international corruption watchdog said so while unveiling the Corruption Perception Index 2018 report in Kathmandu on Tuesday, January 29.</p>
<p>
	The report states that the country has not progressed in good governance as Nepal&rsquo;s position in the CPI 2018 report shows it has further slipped down two spots in the corruption index although its score remains the same.</p>
<p>
	Nepal lies in the 124<sup>th</sup> position among 180 countries with a score of 31 while it ranked 122 last year with the same score.</p>
<p>
	&nbsp;&ldquo;Last year, we were in the 122nd position with a score of 31. However, this year our position in the overall ranking has dropped to 124th although the score is similar to that of the last year as two countries which were below Nepal&rsquo;s position last year improved their ranking,&rdquo; Rastriya Samachar Samiti quoted TIN president Khem Raj Regmi as saying.</p>
<p>
	According to Regmi, the political sphere and bureaucracy are the most corrupt sectors in Nepal.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;Although there is a two-thirds majority government after the elections, the level of corruption has not decreased. There is no improvement in the corruption perception index as compared to the previous year, which makes Nepal&rsquo;s position worrisome in terms of good governance,&rdquo; he added.</p>
<p>
	As per the TI&rsquo;s global report, Denmark and New Zealand top the Index with 88 and 87 points, respectively, RSS reported. Somalia, South Sudan, and Syria are at the bottom of the index, with 10, 13 and 13 points, respectively, out of 100.</p>
<p>
	More than two-thirds of countries have scored below 50, with an average score of only 43. Since 2012, only 20 countries have significantly improved their scores, including Argentina and Cote D&rsquo;Ivoire, and 16 have significantly declined, including, Australia, Chile and Malta, the TI said in a press statement.</p>
<p>
	The highest scoring region is Western Europe and the European Union, with an average score of 66, while the lowest scoring regions are Sub-Saharan Africa (average score 32) and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (average score 35).</p>
<p>
	Under the sub-heading entitled &lsquo;Corruption and Crisis of Democracy&rsquo;, Transparency International press release states that cross analysis with global democracy data revealed a link between corruption and the health of democracies. It stated that full democracies scored an average of 75 on the CPI; flawed democracies scored an average of 49; hybrid regimes &ndash; which show elements of autocratic tendencies &ndash; score 35; autocratic regimes perform worst, with an average score of just 30 on the CPI.</p>
<p>
	According to RSS, the 2018 CPI was based on 13 surveys and expert assessments to measure public sector corruption in 180 countries and territories, giving each a score from zero (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean).</p>
<p>
	It is stated in the report that the rule of law, independent regulatory bodies, free press and the civil society are the characteristics of the countries scoring high in the CPI while it is the opposite in countries with low CPI score.</p>
<p>
	Among the South Asian countries, Bhutan is placed in overall 25th position with a score of 68 points, India is in the 35th position with a score of 41 points, Sri Lanka is in the 89th position with a score of 38 points, the Maldives is ranked 124th position with a score of 31 and Afghanistan is in the 172nd position with a score of 16 points in the CPI index.</p>

	&ldquo;With the aim of providing the safest, most reliable and comfortable means of air transport, our flights have been instrumental in changing the landscape of Bhadrapur. Domestic and international travelers fly to Bhadrapur daily. This has led to an increase in employment and expansion of local market and tourism in Bhadrapur,&rdquo; the statement added.&nbsp;</p>

	Buddha Air said that CAAN&#39;s team also helped in successfully implementing infrastructures for RNAV and runway light installation at Dhangadhi Airport a few months ago. This allowed airline operators to conduct safe night flights to Dhangadhi Airport as well.</p>

	&ldquo;With close coordination with CAAN, we are hopeful to expand infrastructures to other airports in Tumlingtar, Surkhet and Bharatpur as well.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

	The ministry has already sent the list of luxurious goods to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) for review. According to Nawaraj Dhakal, secretary at the ministry, the decision on one hand will prevent Nepal from becoming a &lsquo;dumping site&rsquo; and on the other hand it will also promote domestic products.</p>

	Secretary Dhakal told New Business Age that import of some products at low rate has weakened the domestic production, so the ministry has prepared a list of products to limit their import.</p>
<p>
	Likewise, Pawan Golyan, chairman of Golyan Group, said the government needs to promote domestic products by keeping a check on imports. &ldquo;If the government focuses on production, it takes no time for the country to achieve development,&rdquo; he added.</p>

	The international corruption watchdog said so while unveiling the Corruption Perception Index 2018 report in Kathmandu on Tuesday, January 29.</p>
<p>
	The report states that the country has not progressed in good governance as Nepal&rsquo;s position in the CPI 2018 report shows it has further slipped down two spots in the corruption index although its score remains the same.</p>
<p>
	Nepal lies in the 124<sup>th</sup> position among 180 countries with a score of 31 while it ranked 122 last year with the same score.</p>
<p>
	&nbsp;&ldquo;Last year, we were in the 122nd position with a score of 31. However, this year our position in the overall ranking has dropped to 124th although the score is similar to that of the last year as two countries which were below Nepal&rsquo;s position last year improved their ranking,&rdquo; Rastriya Samachar Samiti quoted TIN president Khem Raj Regmi as saying.</p>
<p>
	According to Regmi, the political sphere and bureaucracy are the most corrupt sectors in Nepal.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;Although there is a two-thirds majority government after the elections, the level of corruption has not decreased. There is no improvement in the corruption perception index as compared to the previous year, which makes Nepal&rsquo;s position worrisome in terms of good governance,&rdquo; he added.</p>
<p>
	As per the TI&rsquo;s global report, Denmark and New Zealand top the Index with 88 and 87 points, respectively, RSS reported. Somalia, South Sudan, and Syria are at the bottom of the index, with 10, 13 and 13 points, respectively, out of 100.</p>
<p>
	More than two-thirds of countries have scored below 50, with an average score of only 43. Since 2012, only 20 countries have significantly improved their scores, including Argentina and Cote D&rsquo;Ivoire, and 16 have significantly declined, including, Australia, Chile and Malta, the TI said in a press statement.</p>
<p>
	The highest scoring region is Western Europe and the European Union, with an average score of 66, while the lowest scoring regions are Sub-Saharan Africa (average score 32) and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (average score 35).</p>
<p>
	Under the sub-heading entitled &lsquo;Corruption and Crisis of Democracy&rsquo;, Transparency International press release states that cross analysis with global democracy data revealed a link between corruption and the health of democracies. It stated that full democracies scored an average of 75 on the CPI; flawed democracies scored an average of 49; hybrid regimes &ndash; which show elements of autocratic tendencies &ndash; score 35; autocratic regimes perform worst, with an average score of just 30 on the CPI.</p>
<p>
	According to RSS, the 2018 CPI was based on 13 surveys and expert assessments to measure public sector corruption in 180 countries and territories, giving each a score from zero (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean).</p>
<p>
	It is stated in the report that the rule of law, independent regulatory bodies, free press and the civil society are the characteristics of the countries scoring high in the CPI while it is the opposite in countries with low CPI score.</p>
<p>
	Among the South Asian countries, Bhutan is placed in overall 25th position with a score of 68 points, India is in the 35th position with a score of 41 points, Sri Lanka is in the 89th position with a score of 38 points, the Maldives is ranked 124th position with a score of 31 and Afghanistan is in the 172nd position with a score of 16 points in the CPI index.</p>

	The airline company said in a statement that night flights to the airport are possible with the setup of RNAV (area navigation), which allows flights even in low visibility.</p>

	&ldquo;This allows night flights to be operated safely as well. This technology has been adopted worldwide for safe air operations,&rdquo; the statement said.&nbsp;</p>

	Earlier, this technology was not available at Bhadrapur Airport, forcing the airlines to cancel or delay flights to Bhadrapur due to low visibility and flights could not be operated after sunset, Buddha Air said. This led to a huge burden on travelers and financial burden on airline operators.&nbsp;</p>

	&ldquo;With the aim of providing the safest, most reliable and comfortable means of air transport, our flights have been instrumental in changing the landscape of Bhadrapur. Domestic and international travelers fly to Bhadrapur daily. This has led to an increase in employment and expansion of local market and tourism in Bhadrapur,&rdquo; the statement added.&nbsp;</p>

	Buddha Air said that CAAN&#39;s team also helped in successfully implementing infrastructures for RNAV and runway light installation at Dhangadhi Airport a few months ago. This allowed airline operators to conduct safe night flights to Dhangadhi Airport as well.</p>

	&ldquo;With close coordination with CAAN, we are hopeful to expand infrastructures to other airports in Tumlingtar, Surkhet and Bharatpur as well.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

	Buddha Air said that Janakpur Airport will also be equipped with RNAV technology in the coming months in collaboration with CAAN and airport authorities. Once test flight is successful, Buddha Air said it will be operating commercial night flights to Janakpur Airport as well.&nbsp;</p>

	The international corruption watchdog said so while unveiling the Corruption Perception Index 2018 report in Kathmandu on Tuesday, January 29.</p>

	The report states that the country has not progressed in good governance as Nepal&rsquo;s position in the CPI 2018 report shows it has further slipped down two spots in the corruption index although its score remains the same.</p>
<p>
	Nepal lies in the 124<sup>th</sup> position among 180 countries with a score of 31 while it ranked 122 last year with the same score.</p>
<p>
	&nbsp;&ldquo;Last year, we were in the 122nd position with a score of 31. However, this year our position in the overall ranking has dropped to 124th although the score is similar to that of the last year as two countries which were below Nepal&rsquo;s position last year improved their ranking,&rdquo; Rastriya Samachar Samiti quoted TIN president Khem Raj Regmi as saying.</p>
<p>
	According to Regmi, the political sphere and bureaucracy are the most corrupt sectors in Nepal.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;Although there is a two-thirds majority government after the elections, the level of corruption has not decreased. There is no improvement in the corruption perception index as compared to the previous year, which makes Nepal&rsquo;s position worrisome in terms of good governance,&rdquo; he added.</p>
<p>
	As per the TI&rsquo;s global report, Denmark and New Zealand top the Index with 88 and 87 points, respectively, RSS reported. Somalia, South Sudan, and Syria are at the bottom of the index, with 10, 13 and 13 points, respectively, out of 100.</p>
<p>
	More than two-thirds of countries have scored below 50, with an average score of only 43. Since 2012, only 20 countries have significantly improved their scores, including Argentina and Cote D&rsquo;Ivoire, and 16 have significantly declined, including, Australia, Chile and Malta, the TI said in a press statement.</p>
<p>
	The highest scoring region is Western Europe and the European Union, with an average score of 66, while the lowest scoring regions are Sub-Saharan Africa (average score 32) and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (average score 35).</p>
<p>
	Under the sub-heading entitled &lsquo;Corruption and Crisis of Democracy&rsquo;, Transparency International press release states that cross analysis with global democracy data revealed a link between corruption and the health of democracies. It stated that full democracies scored an average of 75 on the CPI; flawed democracies scored an average of 49; hybrid regimes &ndash; which show elements of autocratic tendencies &ndash; score 35; autocratic regimes perform worst, with an average score of just 30 on the CPI.</p>
<p>
	According to RSS, the 2018 CPI was based on 13 surveys and expert assessments to measure public sector corruption in 180 countries and territories, giving each a score from zero (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean).</p>
<p>
	It is stated in the report that the rule of law, independent regulatory bodies, free press and the civil society are the characteristics of the countries scoring high in the CPI while it is the opposite in countries with low CPI score.</p>
<p>
	Among the South Asian countries, Bhutan is placed in overall 25th position with a score of 68 points, India is in the 35th position with a score of 41 points, Sri Lanka is in the 89th position with a score of 38 points, the Maldives is ranked 124th position with a score of 31 and Afghanistan is in the 172nd position with a score of 16 points in the CPI index.</p>

	Earlier, this technology was not available at Bhadrapur Airport, forcing the airlines to cancel or delay flights to Bhadrapur due to low visibility and flights could not be operated after sunset, Buddha Air said. This led to a huge burden on travelers and financial burden on airline operators.&nbsp;</p>

	&ldquo;With the aim of providing the safest, most reliable and comfortable means of air transport, our flights have been instrumental in changing the landscape of Bhadrapur. Domestic and international travelers fly to Bhadrapur daily. This has led to an increase in employment and expansion of local market and tourism in Bhadrapur,&rdquo; the statement added.&nbsp;</p>
<p>
	Buddha Air said that CAAN&#39;s team also helped in successfully implementing infrastructures for RNAV and runway light installation at Dhangadhi Airport a few months ago. This allowed airline operators to conduct safe night flights to Dhangadhi Airport as well.</p>

	&ldquo;With close coordination with CAAN, we are hopeful to expand infrastructures to other airports in Tumlingtar, Surkhet and Bharatpur as well.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

	January 30: CAN Info Tech- 2019, a mega fair of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), kicked off at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu on Tuesday, January 29. Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) is organising the 25<sup>th</sup> edition of the event with sponsorship of Subisu and e-sewa.</p>
<p>
	The six-day event was inaugurated by Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota. CAN&rsquo;s president Hemant Chaurasiya said that the fair aims to update people about the latest technological development taking place in the ICT sector across the world. He expressed the belief that businesses can be run effectively and promptly using such technology.</p>
<p>
	The event being held with the slogan &lsquo;Placing Nepal in Global ICT&rsquo; showcases different technological devices including drones, different national and international software, security devices and &lsquo;robot battle&rsquo; made by Nepali students.</p>
<p>
	According to the organiser, some lucky visitors of the fair can get free movie tickets and lunch coupon at. The organiser is also awarding cash prize for students and colleges participating in the robot competition for their encouragement.</p>
<p>
	Likewise, under the daily prize&nbsp; scheme, the organiser is offering different packages including paragliding in Kathmandu, rafting in Trishuli, bungee jumping in Pokhara and one-night stay for a couple at KGH Group of Hotels.</p>
<p>
	Chaurasiya informed that each day five visitors will get shopping voucher worth Rs 2000 while 60 visitors will get food coupon of Rs 200 and six visitors will get film tickets daily.</p>
<p>
	During the inauguration, Sudhir Parajuli, chairman of Subisu Cable Net, said that the company has launched set-top box with artificial intelligent (AI) for the customers.</p>
<p>
	Altogether 175 stalls including hardware, software, laptop, ISP, payment solution, bank, insurance are showcasing their technological devices at the event. The fair will conclude on February 3.</p>

	The international corruption watchdog said so while unveiling the Corruption Perception Index 2018 report in Kathmandu on Tuesday, January 29.</p>
<p>
	The report states that the country has not progressed in good governance as Nepal&rsquo;s position in the CPI 2018 report shows it has further slipped down two spots in the corruption index although its score remains the same.</p>
<p>
	Nepal lies in the 124<sup>th</sup> position among 180 countries with a score of 31 while it ranked 122 last year with the same score.</p>
<p>
	&nbsp;&ldquo;Last year, we were in the 122nd position with a score of 31. However, this year our position in the overall ranking has dropped to 124th although the score is similar to that of the last year as two countries which were below Nepal&rsquo;s position last year improved their ranking,&rdquo; Rastriya Samachar Samiti quoted TIN president Khem Raj Regmi as saying.</p>
<p>
	According to Regmi, the political sphere and bureaucracy are the most corrupt sectors in Nepal.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;Although there is a two-thirds majority government after the elections, the level of corruption has not decreased. There is no improvement in the corruption perception index as compared to the previous year, which makes Nepal&rsquo;s position worrisome in terms of good governance,&rdquo; he added.</p>
<p>
	As per the TI&rsquo;s global report, Denmark and New Zealand top the Index with 88 and 87 points, respectively, RSS reported. Somalia, South Sudan, and Syria are at the bottom of the index, with 10, 13 and 13 points, respectively, out of 100.</p>
<p>
	More than two-thirds of countries have scored below 50, with an average score of only 43. Since 2012, only 20 countries have significantly improved their scores, including Argentina and Cote D&rsquo;Ivoire, and 16 have significantly declined, including, Australia, Chile and Malta, the TI said in a press statement.</p>
<p>
	The highest scoring region is Western Europe and the European Union, with an average score of 66, while the lowest scoring regions are Sub-Saharan Africa (average score 32) and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (average score 35).</p>
<p>
	Under the sub-heading entitled &lsquo;Corruption and Crisis of Democracy&rsquo;, Transparency International press release states that cross analysis with global democracy data revealed a link between corruption and the health of democracies. It stated that full democracies scored an average of 75 on the CPI; flawed democracies scored an average of 49; hybrid regimes &ndash; which show elements of autocratic tendencies &ndash; score 35; autocratic regimes perform worst, with an average score of just 30 on the CPI.</p>
<p>
	According to RSS, the 2018 CPI was based on 13 surveys and expert assessments to measure public sector corruption in 180 countries and territories, giving each a score from zero (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean).</p>
<p>
	It is stated in the report that the rule of law, independent regulatory bodies, free press and the civil society are the characteristics of the countries scoring high in the CPI while it is the opposite in countries with low CPI score.</p>
<p>
	Among the South Asian countries, Bhutan is placed in overall 25th position with a score of 68 points, India is in the 35th position with a score of 41 points, Sri Lanka is in the 89th position with a score of 38 points, the Maldives is ranked 124th position with a score of 31 and Afghanistan is in the 172nd position with a score of 16 points in the CPI index.</p>
