The goal of the project is to build capacity of higher educational institutions in Nepal to better facilitate job creation by incubating student-led ventures, reads a press statement issued by King&rsquo;s College, a partner in the joint venture.</p>

<p>The project will help promote employment, livelihoods and wellbeing in Nepal, which is a priority area of development for the country under the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.</p>

<p>Two academic institutes &ndash; King&rsquo;s College and KUSOM &ndash; along with two business partners, Young Innovations Pvt Ltd and Idea Studio Nepal, will work jointly to implement this three-year project that will end in mid-2020.</p>

<p>A memorandum of understanding towards this effect was siAnchorgned by the concerned parties amid a ceremony in Kathmandu on Thursday.This was done in combination with the Slush 2017 Global Impact Accelerator pitching competition where 15 start-ups from various sectors pitched their venture to compete for their entry for the Slush 2017 Global Impact Accelerator, which will be held in Helsinki, Finland in November/December, 2017. Three winning start-ups &ndash; Doko Recyclers Pvt Ltd, Muskan Brining Back Smiles Pvt Ltd and Tootle&mdash;are nominated for the Slush 2017 Global Impact Accelerator.</p>

<p>Oulu University of Applied Sciences says that the project is being introduced and launched in Nepal in response to the increasing involvement of universities in promoting and strengthening the inter-disciplinary teaching methods and practices and applied activities of business incubation.</p>

<p>The objective of this project is to increase university capacity in Nepal for developing entrepreneurship education and business incubation programming.</p>

<p>The overall goal of the cooperation is to share knowledge and experience gained through the success of the innovative and award-winning incubator programs &ndash; Oamk LABs &ndash; established in 2012 at the Oulu University of Applied Sciences.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The scheme provides a guaranteed assurance of returns to the customers that would not be affected by the fluctuation in market interest rates,&rdquo; the statement says.</p>

<p>NIC Asia Bank is currently providing services from 119 branches with 4 extension counters and also has plans to expand its branch network across the country.</p>

<p>The FZ25 will be available at across all authorized Yamaha dealerships in three exciting color schemes &ndash;&nbsp;&lsquo;ballistic blue&rsquo;, &lsquo;warrior white&rsquo; and &lsquo;knight black&rsquo;.&nbsp;The price of the new model is Rs 344,900.</p>

<p>Based on a reliable 249 cc single-cylinder engine proven on sport bikes for the Japanese market, the model&#39;s engine has been fine-tuned and optimized for the Nepalese traffic environment, primarily in the intake/exhaust systems and the ignition system. 			'content' => '<p>August 17: Ncell customers in flood and landslides affected districts sent over 16.6 million text messages, utilizing free SMS service provided by the company to ensure communications during the disaster.</p>

<p>Ncell had announced 50 free SMS per day for three days to help the flood victims stay in touch with their family members and loved ones during the time of natural disaster and contribute in rescue and relief operations.</p>

<p>According to a press statement&nbsp; issued by Ncell, people of 23 flood-affected district benefitted from the service provided for three days until&nbsp;Tuesday&nbsp;( August 15) as per directives of the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA).</p>

<p>Besides that, Ncell had also provided free balance transfer and increased the loan amount to Rs 60 during the same period. The company had also run a toll-free service through its hotline number 9008 to help the flood victims contact their family and friends in case of emergency.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;We have received very good response about the 50 free SMS provided each day, free of charge balance transfer facility, increased Saapati amount and operation of free emergency call center number 9008 as these initiatives supported our beloved customers in establishing contact with dear ones and also eased rescue and relief works,&rdquo; said Pranay Acharya, corporate services director of Ncell. He also informed that with water level receding, additional BTS towers have now been brought into operation.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In few places, there were problem due to lack of electricity and risk in operation of diesel generators. We are now providing service to our customers with 97 percent sites up and run,&rdquo; said Acharya.</p>

<p>Ncell, which has been providing various services to customers during the time of natural disaster, has also been sending SMS alerts regarding risks of flood and landslides to customers from such disaster prone areas in collaboration with the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).</p>

<p>Under this program, the company during the one week period from August 8 &ndash;14 has sent over 6 million SMS alerts. Ncell had sent text alerts to customers residing in lower basins of various major rivers based on SMS contents provided by the DHM as per water level in the rivers. In a bid to reduce damages from flood and landslides, DHM informs Ncell to send alert SMS depending up on situation of water level in the rivers. DHM and Ncell last year had signed a memorandum of understanding to send SMS alerts.</p>

<p>The grant will be used to provide needful electoral assistance to the EC through the UNDP-managed Electoral Support Project (ESP), reads a press statement issued jointly by the EU and UNDP.</p>

<p>EU Ambassador to Nepal Rensje Teerink and Renaud Meyer, the country director of UNDP in Nepal signed the agreement to this effect on Wednesday, August 16.</p>

<p>The European Union had earlier provided financial assistance of 8.4 million euros for this project in 2012. &nbsp;This contribution is part of the basket fund of US $ 27.8 million, created to support the Election Commission through ESP. Other development partners of the fund are Denmark, Norway, UK Aid and UNDP.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The European Union is pleased to extend this additional support just as Nepal is poised to hold a series of elections in the coming months,&rdquo; said Ambassador Teerink.&nbsp; &ldquo;The EU stands ready and committed to continue technical support in Nepal&rsquo;s democratic process.&rdquo;</p>

<p>&ldquo;UNDP is pleased to partner with the European Union in providing electoral assistance to Nepal. The EU has been generously supporting the process since the 2008 Constituent Assembly elections and this has helped strengthen the capacity of the Election Commission to organize free, fair and credible elections,&rdquo; said Meyer.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The electoral support through ESP has helped the Commission in strengthening the electoral process and conducting inclusive and credible elections,&rdquo; said Mahendra Bhattarai from the Election Commission. &ldquo;We are thankful to our development partners.&rdquo;</p>

<p>The cheapest package of Rs 400 allows CUG members to use voice call for 150 minutes and 300 MB data outside the company&rsquo;s network. Meanwhile, the package of Rs 1,600 offers 750 minutes of voice call and 2,700 MB data.</p>

<p>NT has announced these packages targeting GSM corporate customers. At least 10 post-paid GSM users of a corporate house can utilize these packages.&nbsp;</p>

<p>China agreed to invest in Nepal and explore petroleum products and natural gas as well as to provide financial and technical support during a meeting of the two countries on Tuesday, August 15.</p>

<p>Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Shanta Raj Subedi and his Chinese counterpart signed the agreement in the presence of Vice Premier of the State Council of China Wang Yang, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar and DPM and Foreign Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara.</p>

<p>Finance Secretary Subedi said that the financial and technical support from Chinese has created favorable environment for foreign investment in Nepal and has also encouraged the private sector of China to invest in Nepal.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Technical and financial support were the major issues of the agreement,&rdquo; said Subedi.</p>

<p>&ldquo;This agreement will help in bringing five customs points into operation,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p>As per the agreement, China will provide Rs 15.24 billion as financial and technical support while Rs 2.1 billion has been set aside for exploration of petroleum products.</p>

<p>According to Finance Secretary Subedi, this deal has been fruitful in attracting private companies of China as well as foreign investment. &nbsp;</p>

Three winning start-ups &ndash; Doko Recyclers Pvt Ltd, Muskan Brining Back Smiles Pvt Ltd and Tootle&mdash;are nominated for the Slush 2017 Global Impact Accelerator.</p>

<p>Oulu University of Applied Sciences says that the project is being introduced and launched in Nepal in response to the increasing involvement of universities in promoting and strengthening the inter-disciplinary teaching methods and practices and applied activities of business incubation.</p>

<p>The objective of this project is to increase university capacity in Nepal for developing entrepreneurship education and business incubation programming.</p>

<p>Ncell had announced 50 free SMS per day for three days to help the flood victims stay in touch with their family members and loved ones during the time of natural disaster and contribute in rescue and relief operations.</p>

<p>According to a press statement&nbsp; issued by Ncell, people of 23 flood-affected district benefitted from the service provided for three days until&nbsp;Tuesday&nbsp;( August 15) as per directives of the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA).</p>

<p>Besides that, Ncell had also provided free balance transfer and increased the loan amount to Rs 60 during the same period. The company had also run a toll-free service through its hotline number 9008 to help the flood victims contact their family and friends in case of emergency.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;We have received very good response about the 50 free SMS provided each day, free of charge balance transfer facility, increased Saapati amount and operation of free emergency call center number 9008 as these initiatives supported our beloved customers in establishing contact with dear ones and also eased rescue and relief works,&rdquo; said Pranay Acharya, corporate services director of Ncell. He also informed that with water level receding, additional BTS towers have now been brought into operation.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In few places, there were problem due to lack of electricity and risk in operation of diesel generators. We are now providing service to our customers with 97 percent sites up and run,&rdquo; said Acharya.</p>

<p>Ncell, which has been providing various services to customers during the time of natural disaster, has also been sending SMS alerts regarding risks of flood and landslides to customers from such disaster prone areas in collaboration with the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).</p>

<p>Under this program, the company during the one week period from August 8 &ndash;14 has sent over 6 million SMS alerts. Ncell had sent text alerts to customers residing in lower basins of various major rivers based on SMS contents provided by the DHM as per water level in the rivers. In a bid to reduce damages from flood and landslides, DHM informs Ncell to send alert SMS depending up on situation of water level in the rivers. DHM and Ncell last year had signed a memorandum of understanding to send SMS alerts.</p>

<p>EU Ambassador to Nepal Rensje Teerink and Renaud Meyer, the country director of UNDP in Nepal signed the agreement to this effect on Wednesday, August 16.</p>

<p>The European Union had earlier provided financial assistance of 8.4 million euros for this project in 2012. &nbsp;This contribution is part of the basket fund of US $ 27.8 million, created to support the Election Commission through ESP. Other development partners of the fund are Denmark, Norway, UK Aid and UNDP.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The European Union is pleased to extend this additional support just as Nepal is poised to hold a series of elections in the coming months,&rdquo; said Ambassador Teerink.&nbsp; &ldquo;The EU stands ready and committed to continue technical support in Nepal&rsquo;s democratic process.&rdquo;</p>

<p>&ldquo;UNDP is pleased to partner with the European Union in providing electoral assistance to Nepal. The EU has been generously supporting the process since the 2008 Constituent Assembly elections and this has helped strengthen the capacity of the Election Commission to organize free, fair and credible elections,&rdquo; said Meyer.</p>

<p>FNCCI expressed its hope to receive the increased flow of investment and technology transfer from China to spur the economic growth of Nepal being the next-door friendly neighbor.</p>

<p>NT has announced various packages of CUG ranging from Rs 400 to Rs 700, Rs 1,000, Rs 1,300, Rs 1,600.</p>

<p>The cheapest package of Rs 400 allows CUG members to use voice call for 150 minutes and 300 MB data outside the company&rsquo;s network. Meanwhile, the package of Rs 1,600 offers 750 minutes of voice call and 2,700 MB data.</p>

<p>NT has announced these packages targeting GSM corporate customers. At least 10 post-paid GSM users of a corporate house can utilize these packages.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Shanta Raj Subedi and his Chinese counterpart signed the agreement in the presence of Vice Premier of the State Council of China Wang Yang, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar and DPM and Foreign Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara.</p>

<p>Finance Secretary Subedi said that the financial and technical support from Chinese has created favorable environment for foreign investment in Nepal and has also encouraged the private sector of China to invest in Nepal.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Technical and financial support were the major issues of the agreement,&rdquo; said Subedi.</p>

<p>&ldquo;This agreement will help in bringing five customs points into operation,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p>As per the agreement, China will provide Rs 15.24 billion as financial and technical support while Rs 2.1 billion has been set aside for exploration of petroleum products.</p>

<p>According to Finance Secretary Subedi, this deal has been fruitful in attracting private companies of China as well as foreign investment. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Two academic institutes &ndash; King&rsquo;s College and KUSOM &ndash; along with two business partners, Young Innovations Pvt Ltd and Idea Studio Nepal, will work jointly to implement this three-year project that will end in mid-2020.</p>

<p>A memorandum of understanding towards this effect was siAnchorgned by the concerned parties amid a ceremony in Kathmandu on Thursday.This was done in combination with the Slush 2017 Global Impact Accelerator pitching competition where 15 start-ups from various sectors pitched their venture to compete for their entry for the Slush 2017 Global Impact Accelerator, which will be held in Helsinki, Finland in November/December, 2017. Three winning start-ups &ndash; Doko Recyclers Pvt Ltd, Muskan Brining Back Smiles Pvt Ltd and Tootle&mdash;are nominated for the Slush 2017 Global Impact Accelerator.</p>

<p>Oulu University of Applied Sciences says that the project is being introduced and launched in Nepal in response to the increasing involvement of universities in promoting and strengthening the inter-disciplinary teaching methods and practices and applied activities of business incubation.</p>

<p>The objective of this project is to increase university capacity in Nepal for developing entrepreneurship education and business incubation programming.</p>

<p>The overall goal of the cooperation is to share knowledge and experience gained through the success of the innovative and award-winning incubator programs &ndash; Oamk LABs &ndash; established in 2012 at the Oulu University of Applied Sciences.</p>

<p>According to a press statement&nbsp; issued by Ncell, people of 23 flood-affected district benefitted from the service provided for three days until&nbsp;Tuesday&nbsp;( August 15) as per directives of the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA).</p>

<p>Besides that, Ncell had also provided free balance transfer and increased the loan amount to Rs 60 during the same period. The company had also run a toll-free service through its hotline number 9008 to help the flood victims contact their family and friends in case of emergency.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;We have received very good response about the 50 free SMS provided each day, free of charge balance transfer facility, increased Saapati amount and operation of free emergency call center number 9008 as these initiatives supported our beloved customers in establishing contact with dear ones and also eased rescue and relief works,&rdquo; said Pranay Acharya, corporate services director of Ncell. He also informed that with water level receding, additional BTS towers have now been brought into operation.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In few places, there were problem due to lack of electricity and risk in operation of diesel generators. We are now providing service to our customers with 97 percent sites up and run,&rdquo; said Acharya.</p>

<p>Ncell, which has been providing various services to customers during the time of natural disaster, has also been sending SMS alerts regarding risks of flood and landslides to customers from such disaster prone areas in collaboration with the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).</p>

<p>Under this program, the company during the one week period from August 8 &ndash;14 has sent over 6 million SMS alerts. Ncell had sent text alerts to customers residing in lower basins of various major rivers based on SMS contents provided by the DHM as per water level in the rivers. In a bid to reduce damages from flood and landslides, DHM informs Ncell to send alert SMS depending up on situation of water level in the rivers. DHM and Ncell last year had signed a memorandum of understanding to send SMS alerts.</p>

<p>The European Union had earlier provided financial assistance of 8.4 million euros for this project in 2012. &nbsp;This contribution is part of the basket fund of US $ 27.8 million, created to support the Election Commission through ESP. Other development partners of the fund are Denmark, Norway, UK Aid and UNDP.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The European Union is pleased to extend this additional support just as Nepal is poised to hold a series of elections in the coming months,&rdquo; said Ambassador Teerink.&nbsp; &ldquo;The EU stands ready and committed to continue technical support in Nepal&rsquo;s democratic process.&rdquo;</p>

<p>&ldquo;UNDP is pleased to partner with the European Union in providing electoral assistance to Nepal. The EU has been generously supporting the process since the 2008 Constituent Assembly elections and this has helped strengthen the capacity of the Election Commission to organize free, fair and credible elections,&rdquo; said Meyer.</p>

<p>Finance Secretary Subedi said that the financial and technical support from Chinese has created favorable environment for foreign investment in Nepal and has also encouraged the private sector of China to invest in Nepal.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Technical and financial support were the major issues of the agreement,&rdquo; said Subedi.</p>

<p>&ldquo;This agreement will help in bringing five customs points into operation,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p>As per the agreement, China will provide Rs 15.24 billion as financial and technical support while Rs 2.1 billion has been set aside for exploration of petroleum products.</p>

<p>According to Finance Secretary Subedi, this deal has been fruitful in attracting private companies of China as well as foreign investment. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The project will help promote employment, livelihoods and wellbeing in Nepal, which is a priority area of development for the country under the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.</p>

<p>Two academic institutes &ndash; King&rsquo;s College and KUSOM &ndash; along with two business partners, Young Innovations Pvt Ltd and Idea Studio Nepal, will work jointly to implement this three-year project that will end in mid-2020.</p>

<p>A memorandum of understanding towards this effect was siAnchorgned by the concerned parties amid a ceremony in Kathmandu on Thursday.This was done in combination with the Slush 2017 Global Impact Accelerator pitching competition where 15 start-ups from various sectors pitched their venture to compete for their entry for the Slush 2017 Global Impact Accelerator, which will be held in Helsinki, Finland in November/December, 2017. Three winning start-ups &ndash; Doko Recyclers Pvt Ltd, Muskan Brining Back Smiles Pvt Ltd and Tootle&mdash;are nominated for the Slush 2017 Global Impact Accelerator.</p>

<p>Oulu University of Applied Sciences says that the project is being introduced and launched in Nepal in response to the increasing involvement of universities in promoting and strengthening the inter-disciplinary teaching methods and practices and applied activities of business incubation.</p>

<p>The objective of this project is to increase university capacity in Nepal for developing entrepreneurship education and business incubation programming.</p>

<p>The overall goal of the cooperation is to share knowledge and experience gained through the success of the innovative and award-winning incubator programs &ndash; Oamk LABs &ndash; established in 2012 at the Oulu University of Applied Sciences.</p>

<p>According to a press statement&nbsp; issued by Ncell, people of 23 flood-affected district benefitted from the service provided for three days until&nbsp;Tuesday&nbsp;( August 15) as per directives of the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA).</p>

<p>Besides that, Ncell had also provided free balance transfer and increased the loan amount to Rs 60 during the same period. The company had also run a toll-free service through its hotline number 9008 to help the flood victims contact their family and friends in case of emergency.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;We have received very good response about the 50 free SMS provided each day, free of charge balance transfer facility, increased Saapati amount and operation of free emergency call center number 9008 as these initiatives supported our beloved customers in establishing contact with dear ones and also eased rescue and relief works,&rdquo; said Pranay Acharya, corporate services director of Ncell. He also informed that with water level receding, additional BTS towers have now been brought into operation.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In few places, there were problem due to lack of electricity and risk in operation of diesel generators. We are now providing service to our customers with 97 percent sites up and run,&rdquo; said Acharya.</p>

<p>Ncell, which has been providing various services to customers during the time of natural disaster, has also been sending SMS alerts regarding risks of flood and landslides to customers from such disaster prone areas in collaboration with the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).</p>

<p>Under this program, the company during the one week period from August 8 &ndash;14 has sent over 6 million SMS alerts. Ncell had sent text alerts to customers residing in lower basins of various major rivers based on SMS contents provided by the DHM as per water level in the rivers. In a bid to reduce damages from flood and landslides, DHM informs Ncell to send alert SMS depending up on situation of water level in the rivers. DHM and Ncell last year had signed a memorandum of understanding to send SMS alerts.</p>

<p>The European Union had earlier provided financial assistance of 8.4 million euros for this project in 2012. &nbsp;This contribution is part of the basket fund of US $ 27.8 million, created to support the Election Commission through ESP. Other development partners of the fund are Denmark, Norway, UK Aid and UNDP.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The European Union is pleased to extend this additional support just as Nepal is poised to hold a series of elections in the coming months,&rdquo; said Ambassador Teerink.&nbsp; &ldquo;The EU stands ready and committed to continue technical support in Nepal&rsquo;s democratic process.&rdquo;</p>

<p>&ldquo;UNDP is pleased to partner with the European Union in providing electoral assistance to Nepal. <p>A meeting of the NCC on August 15 took this decision. The meeting has also formed a 23-member disaster relief committee to distribute relief materials immediately to the victims.</p>

<p>NCC Vice President Rajendra Malla has been appointed as the coordinator of the committee while Deepak Malhotra and Kisan Agrawal are the deputy coordinators.</p>

<p>The meeting also decided to take initiative to provide employment to the flood victims on priority basis.</p>

<p>NCC has urged those willing to help the flood victims to deposit any amount in account number 0101010006123 at Kantipath branch of Global IME Bank.</p>

			'content' => '<p>August 16: The Chinese government has pledged to provide financial assistance worth Rs 17.34 billion to Nepal. The grant will be used for repair and maintenance of the Arniko Highway; operation of five customs points that link Nepal and China and construction of bridges along Timure border point in Rasuwa; and for exploration of petroleum products and natural gas.</p>

<p>China agreed to invest in Nepal and explore petroleum products and natural gas as well as to provide financial and technical support during a meeting of the two countries on Tuesday, August 15.</p>

<p>Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Shanta Raj Subedi and his Chinese counterpart signed the agreement in the presence of Vice Premier of the State Council of China Wang Yang, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar and DPM and Foreign Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara.</p>

<p>Finance Secretary Subedi said that the financial and technical support from Chinese has created favorable environment for foreign investment in Nepal and has also encouraged the private sector of China to invest in Nepal.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Technical and financial support were the major issues of the agreement,&rdquo; said Subedi.</p>

<p>&ldquo;This agreement will help in bringing five customs points into operation,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p>As per the agreement, China will provide Rs 15.24 billion as financial and technical support while Rs 2.1 billion has been set aside for exploration of petroleum products.</p>

<p>According to Finance Secretary Subedi, this deal has been fruitful in attracting private companies of China as well as foreign investment. &nbsp;</p>
