<p>The event will have stalls of renowned auto brands, financial institutions and lubricants, while the auto enthusiasts will get a change to stroll through the stalls with spare-parts, batteries, tyres, vehicle security technology, garage equipment and other auto components.</p>

<p>The exhibition will provide an appropriate forum for the automobile business sector to showcase their vehicles, accessories and other services to the prospective customers, reads a press statement issued by NADA.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;It is an equally ideal and trustworthy platform for the prospective buyers to know, observe and enquire about their choices to make smart decisions,&rdquo; says the statement, adding, &ldquo;Gathering of importers, dealers, distributors, manufacturers and buyers under one roof, the show will be a perfect center for the exchange of information, analysis of automobile business and its component areas contributing to the overall development of Nepalese automobile sector.&rdquo;</p>

<p>According to the organisers, the show will house around 130 small and big blocks and will be occupied by 90 exhibiting companies this year. Sixteen brands of 4-wheelers, 19 brands of 2-wheelers and 6 brands of heavy commercials will be on display among others.</p>

<p>As a special attraction to the visitors, there is a bumper door prize on tickets and the prize is UM Renegade Commando 230 cc motor bike sponsored by IME Automotives Pvt Ltd.</p>

<p>NADA expects around 50,000 visitors from all over Nepal during the auto show. To present the event more effectively, comedian duo MaHa is associated as the Brand Ambassador of NADA Auto Show 2017.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, NADA has announced Rs 500,000 from the income generated by the auto show in support to the flood and landslide victims.</p>

<p>The event is being jointly organised by Nepal Automobiles Dealers Association (NADA) and Global Exposition and Management Services Pvt Ltd. SERVO is the title sponsor of the event.</p>

			'content' => '<p>August 20: Amendment of the Company Act 2063 has paved way for the government to revoke the license of the companies that have stopped their operation. A notice issued by the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office on August 7 after adding section 136 (A) in the Company Act following the necessary amendment process has made it possible for the concerned government bodies to take such decision.</p>

<p>The notice includes a sample of the application required for revoking the license of the companies that have closed down. The companies will have to submit the application within two years since the amended act came into effect.</p>

<p>The president had already approved the amendment proposal on May 2 but the process was delayed as the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office was yet to prepare a sample of the application form.</p>

<p>Now, the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office has urged the closed factories to initiate the process to revoke their license. Until now, the non-functional companies were facing difficulties in cancelling their license due to unclear policies.</p>

<p>Registrar Geeta Kumari Humagain said that the process of revoking the license of any company was a complex issue but now the government has made it possible to do so after the amendment of the Company Act.</p>

<p>Altogether 160,000 companies have been registered with the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office. Humagain informed that around 100,000 companies among the total registered companies are currently non-functional.</p>

<p>China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), a big investment company of China, has decided to invest Rs 15 billion in Nepal. CHEC, a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC), will invest one of the largest amounts in Sanjelkhola Hydropower Project.</p>

<p>An agreement in this regard was signed between the concerned parties on Saturday, August 19. Energy Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong were also present during the signing ceremony.</p>

<p>The project&rsquo;s chief Bishnu Raj Adhikari and CHEC President Tang Qiaoling signed the agreement onbehalf of their respective organizations.</p>

<p>The government of Nepal had requested the Chinese government to invest in the 78-megawatt capacity project. As per the request, China decided to invest in Nepal through one of its biggest investors, CHEC.</p>

<p>After signing the agreement, both sides reiterated that the Rasuwa-based project would help in strengthening the bilateral relation between the two countries.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During the occasion, secretary at the Ministry of Energy Anup Upadhyay expressed his belief that the country&rsquo;s energy crisis would ease in the future due to such a huge foreign direct investment in a single project.</p>

<p>Experts have said the decision of the company, which invests Rs 1,100 billion worldwide every year, to invest in Nepal as a positive outcome in the efforts taken by the government to attract foreign investors.</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement, HAMI has urged the government to speed up the process to reach out to the affected people to provide them with the basic needs.</p>

<p>The affected people in various districts are facing the challenge of proper shelter, food, clean drinking water, sanitation and basic medicines, HAMI wrote in the statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The recent monsoon rains have taken lives of 131 people and injured more than two dozens of people. At least 35 districts have been affected by the floods and landslides. More than 7,000 households have been destroyed and 18,000 families have been displaced and living in temporary shelters but the response to reach out to them has been delayed,&rdquo; says the statement.</p>

<p>While floods have affected the terai region, hundreds of families have been hit by landslides in the hilly region. Hundreds of settlements are still at risk if being affected by further landslides, HAMI said in the statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In this emergency situation, HAMI demands for effective rescue and distribution of relief materials for the safety of human lives and properties with the efficient mobilization of all the concerned mechanisms accountably,&rdquo; the statement further reads.</p>

<p>HAMI also noted that the recent directive issued by the government regarding one-door policy in distribution of relief has discouraged civil society organizations to be involved in rescue and relief operation. As a result, flood survivors have not got timely support.</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement, the airlines informed that the flight operated by Captain Gabriel C Kunda and Captain Roop Kumar Siddhi departed from Kathmandu&rsquo;s domestic airport at 12:15 pm with a team of 41 member and landed successfully at 3:50 PM&nbsp; at Bhairahawa Airport. Representatives of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) were on board the flight.</p>

<p>Yeti Airlines informed that the report of the proving flight has been submitted to CAAN. The schedule flight will commence as soon as the airlines gets clearance from CAAN, the statement further said.</p>

<p>Yeti Airlines will initially start flights of its ATR72-500 aircraft to Nepalgunj and Biratnagar. Yeti Airlines said it will extend its ATR72-500 operations to Bhadrapur and Bhairahawa as well upon the arrival of its second ATR72-500 in September.</p>

<p>&ldquo;With the successful completion of our inaugural flight to Bhairahawa, we look forward to providing daily flights to Bhairahawa in the near future,&rdquo; reads the statement.</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement on August 17, Nepal Telecom said that the floods have affected telecommunication equipment in eastern and central regions of the country. Nepal Telecom further informed that it has already repaired 91 percent of the telecommunication equipment damaged by the floods and landslides.</p>

<p>The statement further said that the telecommunication service has been partly affected by the damages caused by the floods and the lack of electricity in the aftermath of the calamity.</p>

A notice issued by the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office on August 7 after adding section 136 (A) in the Company Act following the necessary amendment process has made it possible for the concerned government bodies to take such decision.</p>

<p>The notice includes a sample of the application required for revoking the license of the companies that have closed down. The companies will have to submit the application within two years since the amended act came into effect.</p>

<p>The president had already approved the amendment proposal on May 2 but the process was delayed as the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office was yet to prepare a sample of the application form.</p>

<p>Now, the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office has urged the closed factories to initiate the process to revoke their license. Until now, the non-functional companies were facing difficulties in cancelling their license due to unclear policies.</p>

<p>Registrar Geeta Kumari Humagain said that the process of revoking the license of any company was a complex issue but now the government has made it possible to do so after the amendment of the Company Act.</p>

<p>Altogether 160,000 companies have been registered with the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office. Humagain informed that around 100,000 companies among the total registered companies are currently non-functional.</p>

<p>An agreement in this regard was signed between the concerned parties on Saturday, August 19. Energy Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong were also present during the signing ceremony.</p>

<p>The project&rsquo;s chief Bishnu Raj Adhikari and CHEC President Tang Qiaoling signed the agreement onbehalf of their respective organizations.</p>

<p>The government of Nepal had requested the Chinese government to invest in the 78-megawatt capacity project. As per the request, China decided to invest in Nepal through one of its biggest investors, CHEC.</p>

<p>After signing the agreement, both sides reiterated that the Rasuwa-based project would help in strengthening the bilateral relation between the two countries.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During the occasion, secretary at the Ministry of Energy Anup Upadhyay expressed his belief that the country&rsquo;s energy crisis would ease in the future due to such a huge foreign direct investment in a single project.</p>

<p>Experts have said the decision of the company, which invests Rs 1,100 billion worldwide every year, to invest in Nepal as a positive outcome in the efforts taken by the government to attract foreign investors.</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement, HAMI has urged the government to speed up the process to reach out to the affected people to provide them with the basic needs.</p>

<p>The affected people in various districts are facing the challenge of proper shelter, food, clean drinking water, sanitation and basic medicines, HAMI wrote in the statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The recent monsoon rains have taken lives of 131 people and injured more than two dozens of people. At least 35 districts have been affected by the floods and landslides. More than 7,000 households have been destroyed and 18,000 families have been displaced and living in temporary shelters but the response to reach out to them has been delayed,&rdquo; says the statement.</p>

<p>While floods have affected the terai region, hundreds of families have been hit by landslides in the hilly region. Hundreds of settlements are still at risk if being affected by further landslides, HAMI said in the statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In this emergency situation, HAMI demands for effective rescue and distribution of relief materials for the safety of human lives and properties with the efficient mobilization of all the concerned mechanisms accountably,&rdquo; the statement further reads.</p>

<p>HAMI also noted that the recent directive issued by the government regarding one-door policy in distribution of relief has discouraged civil society organizations to be involved in rescue and relief operation. As a result, flood survivors have not got timely support.</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement, the airlines informed that the flight operated by Captain Gabriel C Kunda and Captain Roop Kumar Siddhi departed from Kathmandu&rsquo;s domestic airport at 12:15 pm with a team of 41 member and landed successfully at 3:50 PM&nbsp; at Bhairahawa Airport. Representatives of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) were on board the flight.</p>

<p>Yeti Airlines informed that the report of the proving flight has been submitted to CAAN. The schedule flight will commence as soon as the airlines gets clearance from CAAN, the statement further said.</p>

<p>Yeti Airlines will initially start flights of its ATR72-500 aircraft to Nepalgunj and Biratnagar. Yeti Airlines said it will extend its ATR72-500 operations to Bhadrapur and Bhairahawa as well upon the arrival of its second ATR72-500 in September.</p>

<p>&ldquo;With the successful completion of our inaugural flight to Bhairahawa, we look forward to providing daily flights to Bhairahawa in the near future,&rdquo; reads the statement.</p>

Nepal Telecom further informed that it has already repaired 91 percent of the telecommunication equipment damaged by the floods and landslides.</p>

<p>The statement further said that the telecommunication service has been partly affected by the damages caused by the floods and the lack of electricity in the aftermath of the calamity.</p>

A notice issued by the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office on August 7 after adding section 136 (A) in the Company Act following the necessary amendment process has made it possible for the concerned government bodies to take such decision.</p>

<p>The notice includes a sample of the application required for revoking the license of the companies that have closed down. The companies will have to submit the application within two years since the amended act came into effect.</p>

<p>The president had already approved the amendment proposal on May 2 but the process was delayed as the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office was yet to prepare a sample of the application form.</p>

<p>Now, the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office has urged the closed factories to initiate the process to revoke their license. Until now, the non-functional companies were facing difficulties in cancelling their license due to unclear policies.</p>

<p>Registrar Geeta Kumari Humagain said that the process of revoking the license of any company was a complex issue but now the government has made it possible to do so after the amendment of the Company Act.</p>

<p>Altogether 160,000 companies have been registered with the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office. Humagain informed that around 100,000 companies among the total registered companies are currently non-functional.</p>

<p>China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), a big investment company of China, has decided to invest Rs 15 billion in Nepal. CHEC, a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC), will invest one of the largest amounts in Sanjelkhola Hydropower Project.</p>

<p>An agreement in this regard was signed between the concerned parties on Saturday, August 19. Energy Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong were also present during the signing ceremony.</p>

<p>The project&rsquo;s chief Bishnu Raj Adhikari and CHEC President Tang Qiaoling signed the agreement onbehalf of their respective organizations.</p>

<p>The government of Nepal had requested the Chinese government to invest in the 78-megawatt capacity project. As per the request, China decided to invest in Nepal through one of its biggest investors, CHEC.</p>

<p>After signing the agreement, both sides reiterated that the Rasuwa-based project would help in strengthening the bilateral relation between the two countries.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During the occasion, secretary at the Ministry of Energy Anup Upadhyay expressed his belief that the country&rsquo;s energy crisis would ease in the future due to such a huge foreign direct investment in a single project.</p>

<p>Experts have said the decision of the company, which invests Rs 1,100 billion worldwide every year, to invest in Nepal as a positive outcome in the efforts taken by the government to attract foreign investors.</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement, HAMI has urged the government to speed up the process to reach out to the affected people to provide them with the basic needs.</p>

<p>The affected people in various districts are facing the challenge of proper shelter, food, clean drinking water, sanitation and basic medicines, HAMI wrote in the statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The recent monsoon rains have taken lives of 131 people and injured more than two dozens of people. At least 35 districts have been affected by the floods and landslides. More than 7,000 households have been destroyed and 18,000 families have been displaced and living in temporary shelters but the response to reach out to them has been delayed,&rdquo; says the statement.</p>

<p>While floods have affected the terai region, hundreds of families have been hit by landslides in the hilly region. Hundreds of settlements are still at risk if being affected by further landslides, HAMI said in the statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In this emergency situation, HAMI demands for effective rescue and distribution of relief materials for the safety of human lives and properties with the efficient mobilization of all the concerned mechanisms accountably,&rdquo; the statement further reads.</p>

<p>HAMI also noted that the recent directive issued by the government regarding one-door policy in distribution of relief has discouraged civil society organizations to be involved in rescue and relief operation. As a result, flood survivors have not got timely support.</p>

<p>Yeti Airlines informed that the report of the proving flight has been submitted to CAAN. The schedule flight will commence as soon as the airlines gets clearance from CAAN, the statement further said.</p>

<p>Yeti Airlines will initially start flights of its ATR72-500 aircraft to Nepalgunj and Biratnagar. Yeti Airlines said it will extend its ATR72-500 operations to Bhadrapur and Bhairahawa as well upon the arrival of its second ATR72-500 in September.</p>

<p>&ldquo;With the successful completion of our inaugural flight to Bhairahawa, we look forward to providing daily flights to Bhairahawa in the near future,&rdquo; reads the statement.</p>

A notice issued by the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office on August 7 after adding section 136 (A) in the Company Act following the necessary amendment process has made it possible for the concerned government bodies to take such decision.</p>

<p>The notice includes a sample of the application required for revoking the license of the companies that have closed down. The companies will have to submit the application within two years since the amended act came into effect.</p>

<p>The president had already approved the amendment proposal on May 2 but the process was delayed as the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office was yet to prepare a sample of the application form.</p>

<p>Now, the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office has urged the closed factories to initiate the process to revoke their license. Until now, the non-functional companies were facing difficulties in cancelling their license due to unclear policies.</p>

<p>Registrar Geeta Kumari Humagain said that the process of revoking the license of any company was a complex issue but now the government has made it possible to do so after the amendment of the Company Act.</p>

<p>Altogether 160,000 companies have been registered with the Company Registrar&rsquo;s Office. Humagain informed that around 100,000 companies among the total registered companies are currently non-functional.</p>

<p>An agreement in this regard was signed between the concerned parties on Saturday, August 19. Energy Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong were also present during the signing ceremony.</p>

<p>The project&rsquo;s chief Bishnu Raj Adhikari and CHEC President Tang Qiaoling signed the agreement onbehalf of their respective organizations.</p>

<p>The government of Nepal had requested the Chinese government to invest in the 78-megawatt capacity project. As per the request, China decided to invest in Nepal through one of its biggest investors, CHEC.</p>

<p>After signing the agreement, both sides reiterated that the Rasuwa-based project would help in strengthening the bilateral relation between the two countries.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During the occasion, secretary at the Ministry of Energy Anup Upadhyay expressed his belief that the country&rsquo;s energy crisis would ease in the future due to such a huge foreign direct investment in a single project.</p>

<p>Experts have said the decision of the company, which invests Rs 1,100 billion worldwide every year, to invest in Nepal as a positive outcome in the efforts taken by the government to attract foreign investors.</p>

<p>The affected people in various districts are facing the challenge of proper shelter, food, clean drinking water, sanitation and basic medicines, HAMI wrote in the statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The recent monsoon rains have taken lives of 131 people and injured more than two dozens of people. At least 35 districts have been affected by the floods and landslides. More than 7,000 households have been destroyed and 18,000 families have been displaced and living in temporary shelters but the response to reach out to them has been delayed,&rdquo; says the statement.</p>

<p>While floods have affected the terai region, hundreds of families have been hit by landslides in the hilly region. Hundreds of settlements are still at risk if being affected by further landslides, HAMI said in the statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;In this emergency situation, HAMI demands for effective rescue and distribution of relief materials for the safety of human lives and properties with the efficient mobilization of all the concerned mechanisms accountably,&rdquo; the statement further reads.</p>

<p>HAMI also noted that the recent directive issued by the government regarding one-door policy in distribution of relief has discouraged civil society organizations to be involved in rescue and relief operation. As a result, flood survivors have not got timely support.</p>

			'content' => '<p>August 18: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has succeeded to earn profit in the fiscal year 2016/17. It was running in loss in the previous year but managed to make operating profit of Rs 2.40 billion in the last fiscal year. NEA had recorded operating loss of Rs 3.63 billion in the fiscal year 2015/16.</p>

<p>NEA, which has been suffering losses for many years, fared well even in the net loss in the last FY. The net loss of NEA in FY 2015/16 was 8.89 billion but there was a sharp fall in loss in the FY 2016/17 as the figures dropped to Rs 0.98 billion.</p>

<p>NEA made such announcements during its 32<sup>nd</sup> anniversary on August 17.</p>

<p>It has been said that the significant change in fortune is the result of noteworthy contribution and commitment of former Energy Minister Janardan Sharma and the able administration of CEO Kulman Ghising in implementing the directives of the minister properly.</p>

<p>NEA&rsquo;s measures to minimize energy loss, reduction in the rate of average import of electricity, electricity tariff adjustment, regular supply of electricity in major cities among others have helped in minimizing the financial loss.</p>

JICA informed that it was the first public seminar organized as part of JICA Nepal&rsquo;s four-year technical cooperation project to Local Development Training Academy (LDTA) which was initiated in January 2016.</p>

<p style="margin-left:5.1pt">The purpose of the project is to enhance both the human resource and institutional capacity of LDTA and its regional centers by establishing a comprehensive training delivery mechanism that enables quality training to Local Governments&rsquo; personnel, reads a press statement issued by JICA.</p>

<p>The participants, including officials from the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MoFALD), local government institutions, Nepali scholars of social and political science as well as development partners were given a valuable opportunity to engage with the progress achieved by LDTA and its regional centers during the first 18 months of the JICA project, the statement said.</p>

<p style="margin-left:5.1pt">Special keynote lectures given by the leading scholars from Japan, Dr Katsuaki Suzuki of Kumamoto University and Dr Kenichi Kubota of Kansai University, introduced the current trends and international standard of instructional design and action research respectively.</p>

<p style="margin-left:5.1pt">Presentation by MoFALD emphasized on the need of capacity development of the local service provider in the new and emerging context of the local governance in which LDTA should play an important role.</p>

<p>Nepal Telecom had provided the free service from August 13-15 to help in rescue and relief of the victims, informed the state-owned telecommunication company.</p>

<p>Nepal Telecom said it provided the free service under its corporate social responsibility to help the flood and landslide victims stay in touch with their family and friends.</p>

<p>Likewise, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology sent 468,000 &nbsp;SMSs using the network of Nepal Telecom to alert the mass about the floods.</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement on August 17, Nepal Telecom said that the floods have affected telecommunication equipment in eastern and central regions of the country. Nepal Telecom further informed that it has already repaired 91 percent of the telecommunication equipment damaged by the floods and landslides.</p>

<p>The statement further said that the telecommunication service has been partly affected by the damages caused by the floods and the lack of electricity in the aftermath of the calamity.</p>
