<p>The parliamentary committee made such recommendation on Monday (January 7) after making some revisions in a report submitted by its sub-committee.</p>

<p>The sub-committee under PAC had recommended action against former ministers Jeevan Bahadur Shahi and Jitendra Narayan Dev for not being careful regarding irregularities in the deal while it sought action against sitting minister Adhikari for his ill intention in releasing budget for the procurement.</p>

<p>The sub-committee had also recommended action against former secretary at the ministry Prem Rai, who is currently the home secretary, but the full committee removed his name from the list. Lawmaker Pradeep Yadav, who was a member of the sub-committee which recommended action against Rai, clarified that Rai&rsquo;s name has been removed as he was not involved in the scam and that the officials of the national flag carrier had provided false report about his involvement earlier.</p>

<p>PAC has directed the government and the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to immediately suspend the key officials involved in the aircraft procurement deal including the Managing Director of NAC, Sugat Ratna Kansakar.</p>

<p>Similarly, the PAC has directed the government and the CIAA to immediately suspend Tourism Secretary Krishna Prasad Devkota and punish former tourism secretary Shankar Prasad Adhikari.</p>

<p>The sub-committee report had concluded that Rs 4.35 billion was embezzled in the wide-body aircraft procurement process.</p>

<p>The state-run news agency said that the night flights are currently available from TIA to Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi, and preparations are on to connect two more destinations - Chandragadhi and Janakpur - to the schedule very soon.</p>

<p>According to managing director of TIA, Raj Kumar Chhetri, the evening flights were earlier available for only an hour from 5 pm to 6 pm but have been now extended to till 9:00 pm.</p>

<p>The managing director informed that works to prepare required infrastructures including the runway are taking place to operate night flights to the two new domestic destinations.</p>

<p>Prior to this, the domestic flight schedule was from 7 am to 6 pm. Only international flights used to operate at night. According to the airport sources, 25 flight schedules of various airlines had been approved for night flights in the fourth week of August, RSS further reported. As per this approved schedule, Buddha Air had proposed 14 flights, Shree Airlines four flights and Yeti Airlines seven flights.</p>

<p>The government had brought the International Airport into operation for 21 hours since May 21. At present, the airport is open for 22 hours daily after the domestic terminal building started operation from 5 am since September 1 last year. RSS reported that this provision has helped ease the air traffic congestion at the airport.</p>

<p>The department chief Bhisma Raj Dhungana informed New Business Age that the Reserve Bank of India has ignored the request of NRB time and again to exchange the notes.</p>

<p>The central bank is expecting some positive response this time.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, snowfall that has occurred in Humla since last Sunday night has increasingly affected normal life in the Himalayan district, RSS further reported.</p>

<p>With the district temperature reaching below minus 15 degrees Celsius, the locals are feeling troubled to come outside of their homes. As the snowfall continues, the district headquarters Simikot has seen snow as deep as one feet while villages to the north of Simikot witnessed two-foot snow.</p>

<p>At present, hotels do not need to pay any renewal fee since the existing regulation was introduced to promote hotel business in Nepal.</p>

<p>Hotels will now mandatorily need a bank guarantee worth Rs 2.5 million and pay Rs 100,000 annually for renewal of their operating license after the amendment of the regulation.</p>

<p>The announcement function was attended by the representatives from the local, provincial and federal governments, buffer zone communities, private sector, tourism agencies and civil society organizations.</p>

<p>The Coca-Cola Foundation and Bottlers Nepal Limited said in a statement that they have been supporting HCI for the responsible, ethical and fair supply of collecting and recycling plastic bottles since the past four years.</p>

<p>Dr Ghanashyam Gurung, Country representatives of WWF Nepal stated, &ldquo;We are looking at local solutions to tackle the world&rsquo;s global problems, plastic being one of them. By working together at all levels &ndash; federal, provincial and local &ndash; we need to uphold our individual and institutional commitment and credibility for the successful implementation of this maiden undertaking.&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Collection bins have been placed in numerous locations outside Chitwan National Park for visitors to dispose of any plastic items brought out from the national park. The collected single use plastics, primarily water bottles, will in turn be taken back to collection sites and waste management plants in Chitwan for recycling.</p>

<p>With a plastic bag ban already in effect in Kathmandu Valley and given a successful implementation in Chitwan National Park, the zero-plastics initiative is expected to find further impetus and introduced in other protected areas and regions of Nepal, the statement said.</p>

<p>Issuing a circular on January 5, the central bank stated that it would moderate and facilitate the financial institutions for merger process or their up-gradation as per the Bank and Financial Institutions Act 2073 BS.&nbsp;<br />
In the circular, the central bank has further stated that it would inform the Office of the Company Registrar, Securities Board of Nepal and Nepal Stock Exchange to support the merger process.&nbsp;<br />
The directive further urged the financial institutions failing to meet the capital requirements as per the NRB regulations and are bearing loss for five consecutive years to go for merger process, according to RSS.&nbsp;<br />
RSS further reported that the banks and financial institutions dominated the security market in terms of share trading this week. Nepal Bank Limited topped the top 10 companies trading shares with the transaction of 302 shares. Likewise, Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank remained second with the trading of 247 shares followed by Janata Bank with the trading of 154 shares. Prabhu Bank traded 142 shares, while NMB Bnak 140, Mega Bank 129 and Global IME Bank 102.&nbsp;<br />
Likewise, Api Power Company witnessed the trading of 97 shares, while National Life Insurance (NLI) 93 and Nepal Life Insurance 90.&nbsp;<br />
Nepal Telecommunication Company topped the market capitalization list. Other top 10 companies dominating the market capitalization were Nepal Investment Bank, Nabil Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, the NLI, Everest Bank, Himalayan Bank, NIC Asia Ban, Nepal SBI Bank and NMB Bank.&nbsp;<br />

<p>The parliamentary committee made such recommendation on Monday (January 7) after making some revisions in a report submitted by its sub-committee.</p>

<p>The sub-committee under PAC had recommended action against former ministers Jeevan Bahadur Shahi and Jitendra Narayan Dev for not being careful regarding irregularities in the deal while it sought action against sitting minister Adhikari for his ill intention in releasing budget for the procurement.</p>

<p>The sub-committee had also recommended action against former secretary at the ministry Prem Rai, who is currently the home secretary, but the full committee removed his name from the list. Lawmaker Pradeep Yadav, who was a member of the sub-committee which recommended action against Rai, clarified that Rai&rsquo;s name has been removed as he was not involved in the scam and that the officials of the national flag carrier had provided false report about his involvement earlier.</p>

<p>PAC has directed the government and the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to immediately suspend the key officials involved in the aircraft procurement deal including the Managing Director of NAC, Sugat Ratna Kansakar.</p>

<p>Similarly, the PAC has directed the government and the CIAA to immediately suspend Tourism Secretary Krishna Prasad Devkota and punish former tourism secretary Shankar Prasad Adhikari.</p>

<p>The sub-committee report had concluded that Rs 4.35 billion was embezzled in the wide-body aircraft procurement process.</p>

<p>According to managing director of TIA, Raj Kumar Chhetri, the evening flights were earlier available for only an hour from 5 pm to 6 pm but have been now extended to till 9:00 pm.</p>

<p>The managing director informed that works to prepare required infrastructures including the runway are taking place to operate night flights to the two new domestic destinations.</p>

<p>Prior to this, the domestic flight schedule was from 7 am to 6 pm. Only international flights used to operate at night. According to the airport sources, 25 flight schedules of various airlines had been approved for night flights in the fourth week of August, RSS further reported. As per this approved schedule, Buddha Air had proposed 14 flights, Shree Airlines four flights and Yeti Airlines seven flights.</p>

<p>The government had brought the International Airport into operation for 21 hours since May 21. At present, the airport is open for 22 hours daily after the domestic terminal building started operation from 5 am since September 1 last year. RSS reported that this provision has helped ease the air traffic congestion at the airport.</p>

<p>Himalayan Climate Initiative (HCI), along with its partner Coca-Cola in Nepal, the Nepalese Army, WWF Nepal, National Trust For nature Conservation, local buffer zone communities and tourism entrepreneurs supported the initiative led by the Ministry of Forests and Environment to implement Chitwan National Park as the country&rsquo;s first plastic-free protected area.</p>

<p>The announcement function was attended by the representatives from the local, provincial and federal governments, buffer zone communities, private sector, tourism agencies and civil society organizations.</p>

<p>The Coca-Cola Foundation and Bottlers Nepal Limited said in a statement that they have been supporting HCI for the responsible, ethical and fair supply of collecting and recycling plastic bottles since the past four years.</p>

<p>Dr Ghanashyam Gurung, Country representatives of WWF Nepal stated, &ldquo;We are looking at local solutions to tackle the world&rsquo;s global problems, plastic being one of them. By working together at all levels &ndash; federal, provincial and local &ndash; we need to uphold our individual and institutional commitment and credibility for the successful implementation of this maiden undertaking.&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Collection bins have been placed in numerous locations outside Chitwan National Park for visitors to dispose of any plastic items brought out from the national park. The collected single use plastics, primarily water bottles, will in turn be taken back to collection sites and waste management plants in Chitwan for recycling.</p>

<p>With a plastic bag ban already in effect in Kathmandu Valley and given a successful implementation in Chitwan National Park, the zero-plastics initiative is expected to find further impetus and introduced in other protected areas and regions of Nepal, the statement said.</p>

In the circular, the central bank has further stated that it would inform the Office of the Company Registrar, Securities Board of Nepal and Nepal Stock Exchange to support the merger process.&nbsp;<br />
The directive further urged the financial institutions failing to meet the capital requirements as per the NRB regulations and are bearing loss for five consecutive years to go for merger process, according to RSS.&nbsp;<br />
RSS further reported that the banks and financial institutions dominated the security market in terms of share trading this week. Nepal Bank Limited topped the top 10 companies trading shares with the transaction of 302 shares. Likewise, Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank remained second with the trading of 247 shares followed by Janata Bank with the trading of 154 shares. Prabhu Bank traded 142 shares, while NMB Bnak 140, Mega Bank 129 and Global IME Bank 102.&nbsp;<br />
Likewise, Api Power Company witnessed the trading of 97 shares, while National Life Insurance (NLI) 93 and Nepal Life Insurance 90.&nbsp;<br />

<p>The parliamentary committee made such recommendation on Monday (January 7) after making some revisions in a report submitted by its sub-committee.</p>

<p>The sub-committee under PAC had recommended action against former ministers Jeevan Bahadur Shahi and Jitendra Narayan Dev for not being careful regarding irregularities in the deal while it sought action against sitting minister Adhikari for his ill intention in releasing budget for the procurement.</p>

<p>The sub-committee had also recommended action against former secretary at the ministry Prem Rai, who is currently the home secretary, but the full committee removed his name from the list. Lawmaker Pradeep Yadav, who was a member of the sub-committee which recommended action against Rai, clarified that Rai&rsquo;s name has been removed as he was not involved in the scam and that the officials of the national flag carrier had provided false report about his involvement earlier.</p>

<p>PAC has directed the government and the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to immediately suspend the key officials involved in the aircraft procurement deal including the Managing Director of NAC, Sugat Ratna Kansakar.</p>

<p>Similarly, the PAC has directed the government and the CIAA to immediately suspend Tourism Secretary Krishna Prasad Devkota and punish former tourism secretary Shankar Prasad Adhikari.</p>

<p>The sub-committee report had concluded that Rs 4.35 billion was embezzled in the wide-body aircraft procurement process.</p>

<p>The state-run news agency said that the night flights are currently available from TIA to Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi, and preparations are on to connect two more destinations - Chandragadhi and Janakpur - to the schedule very soon.</p>

<p>According to managing director of TIA, Raj Kumar Chhetri, the evening flights were earlier available for only an hour from 5 pm to 6 pm but have been now extended to till 9:00 pm.</p>

<p>The managing director informed that works to prepare required infrastructures including the runway are taking place to operate night flights to the two new domestic destinations.</p>

<p>Prior to this, the domestic flight schedule was from 7 am to 6 pm. Only international flights used to operate at night. According to the airport sources, 25 flight schedules of various airlines had been approved for night flights in the fourth week of August, RSS further reported. As per this approved schedule, Buddha Air had proposed 14 flights, Shree Airlines four flights and Yeti Airlines seven flights.</p>

<p>The government had brought the International Airport into operation for 21 hours since May 21. At present, the airport is open for 22 hours daily after the domestic terminal building started operation from 5 am since September 1 last year. RSS reported that this provision has helped ease the air traffic congestion at the airport.</p>

<p>According to the division, the hills in western and eastern Nepal are likely to remain partially cloudy while the weather in the remaining parts of the country will be fair.</p>

<p>On Wednesday, there will be partly cloudy in the hilly regions and remaining parts will have a fair weather.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, snowfall that has occurred in Humla since last Sunday night has increasingly affected normal life in the Himalayan district, RSS further reported.</p>

<p>With the district temperature reaching below minus 15 degrees Celsius, the locals are feeling troubled to come outside of their homes. As the snowfall continues, the district headquarters Simikot has seen snow as deep as one feet while villages to the north of Simikot witnessed two-foot snow.</p>

<p>At present, hotels do not need to pay any renewal fee since the existing regulation was introduced to promote hotel business in Nepal.</p>

<p>Hotels will now mandatorily need a bank guarantee worth Rs 2.5 million and pay Rs 100,000 annually for renewal of their operating license after the amendment of the regulation.</p>

<p>Collection bins have been placed in numerous locations outside Chitwan National Park for visitors to dispose of any plastic items brought out from the national park. The collected single use plastics, primarily water bottles, will in turn be taken back to collection sites and waste management plants in Chitwan for recycling.</p>

<p>With a plastic bag ban already in effect in Kathmandu Valley and given a successful implementation in Chitwan National Park, the zero-plastics initiative is expected to find further impetus and introduced in other protected areas and regions of Nepal, the statement said.</p>

In the circular, the central bank has further stated that it would inform the Office of the Company Registrar, Securities Board of Nepal and Nepal Stock Exchange to support the merger process.&nbsp;<br />
The directive further urged the financial institutions failing to meet the capital requirements as per the NRB regulations and are bearing loss for five consecutive years to go for merger process, according to RSS.&nbsp;<br />
RSS further reported that the banks and financial institutions dominated the security market in terms of share trading this week. Nepal Bank Limited topped the top 10 companies trading shares with the transaction of 302 shares. <p>The parliamentary committee made such recommendation on Monday (January 7) after making some revisions in a report submitted by its sub-committee.</p>

<p>The sub-committee under PAC had recommended action against former ministers Jeevan Bahadur Shahi and Jitendra Narayan Dev for not being careful regarding irregularities in the deal while it sought action against sitting minister Adhikari for his ill intention in releasing budget for the procurement.</p>

<p>The sub-committee had also recommended action against former secretary at the ministry Prem Rai, who is currently the home secretary, but the full committee removed his name from the list. Lawmaker Pradeep Yadav, who was a member of the sub-committee which recommended action against Rai, clarified that Rai&rsquo;s name has been removed as he was not involved in the scam and that the officials of the national flag carrier had provided false report about his involvement earlier.</p>

<p>PAC has directed the government and the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to immediately suspend the key officials involved in the aircraft procurement deal including the Managing Director of NAC, Sugat Ratna Kansakar.</p>

<p>Similarly, the PAC has directed the government and the CIAA to immediately suspend Tourism Secretary Krishna Prasad Devkota and punish former tourism secretary Shankar Prasad Adhikari.</p>

<p>The sub-committee report had concluded that Rs 4.35 billion was embezzled in the wide-body aircraft procurement process.</p>

<p>The state-run news agency said that the night flights are currently available from TIA to Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi, and preparations are on to connect two more destinations - Chandragadhi and Janakpur - to the schedule very soon.</p>

<p>According to managing director of TIA, Raj Kumar Chhetri, the evening flights were earlier available for only an hour from 5 pm to 6 pm but have been now extended to till 9:00 pm.</p>

<p>The managing director informed that works to prepare required infrastructures including the runway are taking place to operate night flights to the two new domestic destinations.</p>

<p>Prior to this, the domestic flight schedule was from 7 am to 6 pm. Only international flights used to operate at night. According to the airport sources, 25 flight schedules of various airlines had been approved for night flights in the fourth week of August, RSS further reported. As per this approved schedule, Buddha Air had proposed 14 flights, Shree Airlines four flights and Yeti Airlines seven flights.</p>

<p>The government had brought the International Airport into operation for 21 hours since May 21. At present, the airport is open for 22 hours daily after the domestic terminal building started operation from 5 am since September 1 last year. RSS reported that this provision has helped ease the air traffic congestion at the airport.</p>

<p>The Foreign Exchange Department of NRB said that it has urged the RBI to exchange the banned Indian currency which has gathered dust in Nepal since a long time.</p>

<p>According to the central bank, the banking sector of Nepal has a stock of Indian currencies of 500 and 1000 denominations worth Rs 60 million which have remained unused since the Indian government imposed a ban on the notes some two years ago.</p>

<p>The department chief Bhisma Raj Dhungana informed New Business Age that the Reserve Bank of India has ignored the request of NRB time and again to exchange the notes.</p>

<p>The central bank is expecting some positive response this time.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, snowfall that has occurred in Humla since last Sunday night has increasingly affected normal life in the Himalayan district, RSS further reported.</p>

<p>With the district temperature reaching below minus 15 degrees Celsius, the locals are feeling troubled to come outside of their homes. As the snowfall continues, the district headquarters Simikot has seen snow as deep as one feet while villages to the north of Simikot witnessed two-foot snow.</p>

<p>The Department of Tourism has already forwarded the amendment proposed to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>At present, hotels do not need to pay any renewal fee since the existing regulation was introduced to promote hotel business in Nepal.</p>

<p>Hotels will now mandatorily need a bank guarantee worth Rs 2.5 million and pay Rs 100,000 annually for renewal of their operating license after the amendment of the regulation.</p>

<p>The Coca-Cola Foundation and Bottlers Nepal Limited said in a statement that they have been supporting HCI for the responsible, ethical and fair supply of collecting and recycling plastic bottles since the past four years.</p>

<p>Dr Ghanashyam Gurung, Country representatives of WWF Nepal stated, &ldquo;We are looking at local solutions to tackle the world&rsquo;s global problems, plastic being one of them. By working together at all levels &ndash; federal, provincial and local &ndash; we need to uphold our individual and institutional commitment and credibility for the successful implementation of this maiden undertaking.&rdquo;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Collection bins have been placed in numerous locations outside Chitwan National Park for visitors to dispose of any plastic items brought out from the national park. The collected single use plastics, primarily water bottles, will in turn be taken back to collection sites and waste management plants in Chitwan for recycling.</p>

<p>With a plastic bag ban already in effect in Kathmandu Valley and given a successful implementation in Chitwan National Park, the zero-plastics initiative is expected to find further impetus and introduced in other protected areas and regions of Nepal, the statement said.</p>

In the circular, the central bank has further stated that it would inform the Office of the Company Registrar, Securities Board of Nepal and Nepal Stock Exchange to support the merger process.&nbsp;<br />
The directive further urged the financial institutions failing to meet the capital requirements as per the NRB regulations and are bearing loss for five consecutive years to go for merger process, according to RSS.&nbsp;<br />
RSS further reported that the banks and financial institutions dominated the security market in terms of share trading this week. Nepal Bank Limited topped the top 10 companies trading shares with the transaction of 302 shares. Likewise, Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank remained second with the trading of 247 shares followed by Janata Bank with the trading of 154 shares. Prabhu Bank traded 142 shares, while NMB Bnak 140, Mega Bank 129 and Global IME Bank 102.&nbsp;<br />
Likewise, Api Power Company witnessed the trading of 97 shares, while National Life Insurance (NLI) 93 and Nepal Life Insurance 90.&nbsp;<br />
