<p style="text-align: justify;">The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has recognized 112 and 911 as emergency communication numbers. The two numbers are kept optional. Most of the European countries use 112 as emergency number whereas North American countries use 911 as emergency number.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Earlier, Nepal Telecommunication Authority appointed a consultant in order to established integrated emergency communication and response system (IECRS). A work Committee, stressing the need of establishment of IECRS for effective and organised relief and rescue operations, recently published the report prepared by the consultant. The work committee comprised representatives from related bodies including NEA, Nepal Police, Telecommunication Service Provider and Information and Communication Ministry. The report has recommended for establishing &#39;112&#39; as a single emergency number.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The number can be dialled during emergencies even when the mobile or landline phones are locked, have no network coverage or without SIM card. The number can be connected having no balance and validity as well.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Presently, Nepal uses various numbers for various emergency services. These numbers includes 100,101,102 and 103 for police, fire-engine, ambulance and Valley traffic respectively. Similarly, various short code helpline numbers of 3 digits are used for rescue, medical help and children&#39;s security. &nbsp;</p>

In a discussion programme organised by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in the capital on December 13, Kjell Tormod Peterson, Norwegian Ambassador to Nepal said that adoption of business management style used in corporate and public institutions in the Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland) can be helpful in driving innovations in Nepal. &ldquo;Nordic countries too were plagued by inefficiencies in the past but due to their focus on innovation and drive to inculcate social benefit to create a welfare state that supports development projects and innovative enterprises,&rdquo; he mentioned.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The discussion revolved around the issues of productivity from both the private and public sector business and how the Nordic countries have been able to engrain the value of transparency and accountability in presence of good governance. The event which observed participation of people from enterprise sector, intellectuals from labor union and representatives from several NGOs and INGOs included a panel discussion and a question answer session from the participants.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Ambassador Kjell Tormond Peterson, Tima Lyer Utne, Senior Vice-President of Norwegian international hydropower company Statkraft, Ramesh Badal, Secretary of Foreign Affairs at General Federations of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT) and Barsha Shrestha, Infrastructure Head of Chaudahary Group participated in the panel discussion which was moderated by Sherpa Adventure Gear Ashutosh Tiwari.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Startkraft vice-president Utne said that the Nordic model focuses on leadership aspect and collaborative efforts of each individual team to deliver results. &ldquo;The core principles of Nordic model that have allowed business sector to flourish are trust and equality on gender, wage and all other facet,&rdquo; she shared, adding, &ldquo; Beside that tri-partite consensus building to bring in the civil society as a responsible stakeholder is an example Nepal can adopt from the Nordic Countries.&rdquo; She mentioned that Nordic model of business management relies on key elements of trust, respect, gender equality and group consensus, thereby creating a work environment free of power struggles ultimately increasing productivity of the institutions. She suggested using this model in the context of Nepal to reduce labour related problems.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Meanwhile, GEFONT foreign secretary Badal opined that the model is not applicable here given the unlike contexts of labour and business of Nepal and Nordic nations. Speaking about the contemporary log jams in collective bargaining that have plagued Nepal&rsquo;s industrial and service sector for a long time, he said that wage equality and social benefits for human resource working within an industry must not differ to motivate the workers for optimum productivity.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Speaking at the programme, Chaudhary Group infrastructure head Barsha Shrestha focused on the importance of human capital in the service and the manufacturing sectors. &ldquo;Stand of labour unions should shift from making ambiguous promises to address all the need of the employers to practice healthy collective bargaining,&quot; she stressed.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Under IPO, United Modi Hydropower has submitted application for the issuance of 1.72 million shares to general investors to SEBON. Modi has appointed NIBL capital market as its issue manager for that matter. The company also obtained SEBON approval for issuing 10 per cent shares to the locals of affected area on August 17.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, four companies have applied for approval to issue general shares to the locals of affected area. Among them, Radhi Hydro Company has appointed Nabil Investment Company as its issue manager. &quot;SEBON has asked for amended documents,&quot; said Ajay Archarya, Assistant Manager of the company. He estimated two months period to complete the process. A total of 4.4MW electricity has been generated by Radhi River located at Ghermu VDC of Lamjung District since June 2014.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Another hydro company applying for share issuance approval from SEBON to the locals of affected area is Aakhu Khola Hydropower Company. The company has given the issuance management responsibility to Civil Capital Market. The project located at Marpak of Dhading district is generating 8.4MW power.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, Garjang Upatyaka Hydropower is set to issue IPO for locals of affected area for which it has appointed NIBL Capital Market as its share registrar. Likewise, Mailung Khola Hydropower company is planing to issue IPO for locals for which Siddhartha Capital will be managing the issuance. As per the securities regulation,the aforementioned hydro companies are issuing 10 per cent shares to the locals of affected area and 15 per cent to general investors.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Moreover, Api Power and Sanima Mai has applied to SEBON to issue 1:2 i.e. 20 million and 1:1 i.e. 105 million right shares respectively to its share holders.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has recognized 112 and 911 as emergency communication numbers. The two numbers are kept optional. Most of the European countries use 112 as emergency number whereas North American countries use 911 as emergency number.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Earlier, Nepal Telecommunication Authority appointed a consultant in order to established integrated emergency communication and response system (IECRS). A work Committee, stressing the need of establishment of IECRS for effective and organised relief and rescue operations, recently published the report prepared by the consultant. The work committee comprised representatives from related bodies including NEA, Nepal Police, Telecommunication Service Provider and Information and Communication Ministry. The report has recommended for establishing &#39;112&#39; as a single emergency number.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The number can be dialled during emergencies even when the mobile or landline phones are locked, have no network coverage or without SIM card. The number can be connected having no balance and validity as well.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Presently, Nepal uses various numbers for various emergency services. These numbers includes 100,101,102 and 103 for police, fire-engine, ambulance and Valley traffic respectively. Similarly, various short code helpline numbers of 3 digits are used for rescue, medical help and children&#39;s security. &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Startkraft vice-president Utne said that the Nordic model focuses on leadership aspect and collaborative efforts of each individual team to deliver results. &ldquo;The core principles of Nordic model that have allowed business sector to flourish are trust and equality on gender, wage and all other facet,&rdquo; she shared, adding, &ldquo; Beside that tri-partite consensus building to bring in the civil society as a responsible stakeholder is an example Nepal can adopt from the Nordic Countries.&rdquo; She mentioned that Nordic model of business management relies on key elements of trust, respect, gender equality and group consensus, thereby creating a work environment free of power struggles ultimately increasing productivity of the institutions. She suggested using this model in the context of Nepal to reduce labour related problems.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Meanwhile, GEFONT foreign secretary Badal opined that the model is not applicable here given the unlike contexts of labour and business of Nepal and Nordic nations. Speaking about the contemporary log jams in collective bargaining that have plagued Nepal&rsquo;s industrial and service sector for a long time, he said that wage equality and social benefits for human resource working within an industry must not differ to motivate the workers for optimum productivity.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Speaking at the programme, Chaudhary Group infrastructure head Barsha Shrestha focused on the importance of human capital in the service and the manufacturing sectors. &ldquo;Stand of labour unions should shift from making ambiguous promises to address all the need of the employers to practice healthy collective bargaining,&quot; she stressed.</p>

Among them, Radhi Hydro Company has appointed Nabil Investment Company as its issue manager. &quot;SEBON has asked for amended documents,&quot; said Ajay Archarya, Assistant Manager of the company. He estimated two months period to complete the process. A total of 4.4MW electricity has been generated by Radhi River located at Ghermu VDC of Lamjung District since June 2014.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Another hydro company applying for share issuance approval from SEBON to the locals of affected area is Aakhu Khola Hydropower Company. The company has given the issuance management responsibility to Civil Capital Market. The project located at Marpak of Dhading district is generating 8.4MW power.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, Garjang Upatyaka Hydropower is set to issue IPO for locals of affected area for which it has appointed NIBL Capital Market as its share registrar. Likewise, Mailung Khola Hydropower company is planing to issue IPO for locals for which Siddhartha Capital will be managing the issuance. As per the securities regulation,the aforementioned hydro companies are issuing 10 per cent shares to the locals of affected area and 15 per cent to general investors.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has recognized 112 and 911 as emergency communication numbers. The two numbers are kept optional. Most of the European countries use 112 as emergency number whereas North American countries use 911 as emergency number.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Earlier, Nepal Telecommunication Authority appointed a consultant in order to established integrated emergency communication and response system (IECRS). A work Committee, stressing the need of establishment of IECRS for effective and organised relief and rescue operations, recently published the report prepared by the consultant. The work committee comprised representatives from related bodies including NEA, Nepal Police, Telecommunication Service Provider and Information and Communication Ministry. The report has recommended for establishing &#39;112&#39; as a single emergency number.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The number can be dialled during emergencies even when the mobile or landline phones are locked, have no network coverage or without SIM card. The number can be connected having no balance and validity as well.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Presently, Nepal uses various numbers for various emergency services. These numbers includes 100,101,102 and 103 for police, fire-engine, ambulance and Valley traffic respectively. Similarly, various short code helpline numbers of 3 digits are used for rescue, medical help and children&#39;s security. &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Ambassador Kjell Tormond Peterson, Tima Lyer Utne, Senior Vice-President of Norwegian international hydropower company Statkraft, Ramesh Badal, Secretary of Foreign Affairs at General Federations of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT) and Barsha Shrestha, Infrastructure Head of Chaudahary Group participated in the panel discussion which was moderated by Sherpa Adventure Gear Ashutosh Tiwari.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Startkraft vice-president Utne said that the Nordic model focuses on leadership aspect and collaborative efforts of each individual team to deliver results. &ldquo;The core principles of Nordic model that have allowed business sector to flourish are trust and equality on gender, wage and all other facet,&rdquo; she shared, adding, &ldquo; Beside that tri-partite consensus building to bring in the civil society as a responsible stakeholder is an example Nepal can adopt from the Nordic Countries.&rdquo; She mentioned that Nordic model of business management relies on key elements of trust, respect, gender equality and group consensus, thereby creating a work environment free of power struggles ultimately increasing productivity of the institutions. She suggested using this model in the context of Nepal to reduce labour related problems.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Meanwhile, GEFONT foreign secretary Badal opined that the model is not applicable here given the unlike contexts of labour and business of Nepal and Nordic nations. Speaking about the contemporary log jams in collective bargaining that have plagued Nepal&rsquo;s industrial and service sector for a long time, he said that wage equality and social benefits for human resource working within an industry must not differ to motivate the workers for optimum productivity.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Speaking at the programme, Chaudhary Group infrastructure head Barsha Shrestha focused on the importance of human capital in the service and the manufacturing sectors. &ldquo;Stand of labour unions should shift from making ambiguous promises to address all the need of the employers to practice healthy collective bargaining,&quot; she stressed.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, four companies have applied for approval to issue general shares to the locals of affected area. Among them, Radhi Hydro Company has appointed Nabil Investment Company as its issue manager. &quot;SEBON has asked for amended documents,&quot; said Ajay Archarya, Assistant Manager of the company. He estimated two months period to complete the process. A total of 4.4MW electricity has been generated by Radhi River located at Ghermu VDC of Lamjung District since June 2014.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Another hydro company applying for share issuance approval from SEBON to the locals of affected area is Aakhu Khola Hydropower Company. The company has given the issuance management responsibility to Civil Capital Market. The project located at Marpak of Dhading district is generating 8.4MW power.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, Garjang Upatyaka Hydropower is set to issue IPO for locals of affected area for which it has appointed NIBL Capital Market as its share registrar. Likewise, Mailung Khola Hydropower company is planing to issue IPO for locals for which Siddhartha Capital will be managing the issuance. As per the securities regulation,the aforementioned hydro companies are issuing 10 per cent shares to the locals of affected area and 15 per cent to general investors.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has recognized 112 and 911 as emergency communication numbers. The two numbers are kept optional. Most of the European countries use 112 as emergency number whereas North American countries use 911 as emergency number.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Earlier, Nepal Telecommunication Authority appointed a consultant in order to established integrated emergency communication and response system (IECRS). A work Committee, stressing the need of establishment of IECRS for effective and organised relief and rescue operations, recently published the report prepared by the consultant. The work committee comprised representatives from related bodies including NEA, Nepal Police, Telecommunication Service Provider and Information and Communication Ministry. The report has recommended for establishing &#39;112&#39; as a single emergency number.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The number can be dialled during emergencies even when the mobile or landline phones are locked, have no network coverage or without SIM card. The number can be connected having no balance and validity as well.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Presently, Nepal uses various numbers for various emergency services. These numbers includes 100,101,102 and 103 for police, fire-engine, ambulance and Valley traffic respectively. Similarly, various short code helpline numbers of 3 digits are used for rescue, medical help and children&#39;s security. &nbsp;</p>

In a discussion programme organised by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in the capital on December 13, Kjell Tormod Peterson, Norwegian Ambassador to Nepal said that adoption of business management style used in corporate and public institutions in the Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland) can be helpful in driving innovations in Nepal. &ldquo;Nordic countries too were plagued by inefficiencies in the past but due to their focus on innovation and drive to inculcate social benefit to create a welfare state that supports development projects and innovative enterprises,&rdquo; he mentioned.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The discussion revolved around the issues of productivity from both the private and public sector business and how the Nordic countries have been able to engrain the value of transparency and accountability in presence of good governance. The event which observed participation of people from enterprise sector, intellectuals from labor union and representatives from several NGOs and INGOs included a panel discussion and a question answer session from the participants.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Ambassador Kjell Tormond Peterson, Tima Lyer Utne, Senior Vice-President of Norwegian international hydropower company Statkraft, Ramesh Badal, Secretary of Foreign Affairs at General Federations of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT) and Barsha Shrestha, Infrastructure Head of Chaudahary Group participated in the panel discussion which was moderated by Sherpa Adventure Gear Ashutosh Tiwari.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Startkraft vice-president Utne said that the Nordic model focuses on leadership aspect and collaborative efforts of each individual team to deliver results. &ldquo;The core principles of Nordic model that have allowed business sector to flourish are trust and equality on gender, wage and all other facet,&rdquo; she shared, adding, &ldquo; Beside that tri-partite consensus building to bring in the civil society as a responsible stakeholder is an example Nepal can adopt from the Nordic Countries.&rdquo; She mentioned that Nordic model of business management relies on key elements of trust, respect, gender equality and group consensus, thereby creating a work environment free of power struggles ultimately increasing productivity of the institutions. She suggested using this model in the context of Nepal to reduce labour related problems.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Meanwhile, GEFONT foreign secretary Badal opined that the model is not applicable here given the unlike contexts of labour and business of Nepal and Nordic nations. Speaking about the contemporary log jams in collective bargaining that have plagued Nepal&rsquo;s industrial and service sector for a long time, he said that wage equality and social benefits for human resource working within an industry must not differ to motivate the workers for optimum productivity.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Speaking at the programme, Chaudhary Group infrastructure head Barsha Shrestha focused on the importance of human capital in the service and the manufacturing sectors. &ldquo;Stand of labour unions should shift from making ambiguous promises to address all the need of the employers to practice healthy collective bargaining,&quot; she stressed.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Under IPO, United Modi Hydropower has submitted application for the issuance of 1.72 million shares to general investors to SEBON. Modi has appointed NIBL capital market as its issue manager for that matter. The company also obtained SEBON approval for issuing 10 per cent shares to the locals of affected area on August 17.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, four companies have applied for approval to issue general shares to the locals of affected area. Among them, Radhi Hydro Company has appointed Nabil Investment Company as its issue manager. &quot;SEBON has asked for amended documents,&quot; said Ajay Archarya, Assistant Manager of the company. He estimated two months period to complete the process. A total of 4.4MW electricity has been generated by Radhi River located at Ghermu VDC of Lamjung District since June 2014.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Another hydro company applying for share issuance approval from SEBON to the locals of affected area is Aakhu Khola Hydropower Company. The company has given the issuance management responsibility to Civil Capital Market. The project located at Marpak of Dhading district is generating 8.4MW power.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, Garjang Upatyaka Hydropower is set to issue IPO for locals of affected area for which it has appointed NIBL Capital Market as its share registrar. Likewise, Mailung Khola Hydropower company is planing to issue IPO for locals for which Siddhartha Capital will be managing the issuance. As per the securities regulation,the aforementioned hydro companies are issuing 10 per cent shares to the locals of affected area and 15 per cent to general investors.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Moreover, Api Power and Sanima Mai has applied to SEBON to issue 1:2 i.e. 20 million and 1:1 i.e. 105 million right shares respectively to its share holders.&nbsp;</p>
