<p>According to the organisers, the event was conducted to create a scene assessment of the pre-hospital environment, initial assessment of the patient, manage the&nbsp;life threatening&nbsp;emergencies with appropriate initial steps, proper monitoring during the transfer of patients&nbsp;while maintaining good communication with their medical base.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Pre-Hospital Care Conference was conducted with the aim of advancing the knowledge, confidence and skill of the respondents with regards to these challenges.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Om Raj Bhandari, president of NAS, said, &quot;As the president and one of the founders of Nepal Ambulance Service, I am aware of the dire state of pre-hospital care services throughout Nepal. Many critically ill and injured patients are deprived of timely treatment due to lack of emergency treatments, safe transport to the hospital where they get definitive care. Lack of standard ambulances with trained staff force many people to opt for taxi or sub-standard ambulances with only the driver, which in many cases leads to preventable deaths.&quot;</p>

<p>Speaking on the occasion, keynote speaker Dr Mahadevan from Stanford said, &quot;Like police and fire brigade during our emergencies, pre-hospital care is also equally important and the basic rights of citizens. Every country should work towards their basic rights. I am happy with these sorts of conference and deliberation in partnership with the government.&quot;</p>

<p>Another keynote speaker, Founding President of NAS, Dr Rajesh Gongal stated that &quot;Our country lacks vision for EMS (Emergency Medical Service). All the stakeholders in partnership with Health Ministry should work towards creating a long-term vision. I hope this conference will lead us towards that vision.&quot;</p>

<p>Also speaking at the occasion, Chief Guest, State Minister for Health Padma Kumari Aryal reassured about the partnership between the Ministry of Health and NAS towards creating a call centre for all the ambulances. She said, &quot;NAS should lead the EMS concept and work with the Government of Nepal to provide the quality pre-hospital care to every Nepali.&quot;</p>

<p>Pre-Hospital care is the emergency care a patient receives which is usually performed by emergency medical technicians and paramedics prior to reaching the hospital. It includes immobilization of the injured area in a functional position below the level of the heart, administration of oxygen, establishment of intravenous access on the contralateral side, and transportation of the patient to the nearest medical facility.</p>

<p>The first day of the symposium had two sessions - &lsquo;Financial Economies&rsquo; and &lsquo;Marketing and Branding&rsquo; - in which eight speakers shared their experiences of their professional life. The sessions were followed by a panel discussion.</p>

<p>For the Financial Economics session, speakers including Annal Raj Bhattarai, founder of Nepal Rating Agency; Dr Manoj Shahi, partner of Active Allocator; Dr Posh Raj Pandey, chairman of South Asia Watch on Trade Economics and Environment (SAWTEE); and Akash Shrestha, research coordinator at Samriddhi Foundation shared their knowledge amongst the participants. The topics discussed in the Financial Economics session included Shaping Nepali Banking Industry, FinTech and Financial Inclusion, Fourth Industrial Revolution and Investment Climate in Nepal.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>Posh Raj Pandey putting an insight about the fourth industrial revolution, said, &quot;Industrial revolution including technological innovation and advancement like digital payment system has made transaction faster, cost effective and has been more productive.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Akash Shrestha mentioned the&nbsp;complex tax regime, impractical standard guidelines, difficulties in accessing finance, price controls, restrictive labour laws and policy disharmony as the major challenges for medium-scale industries in Nepal. He added, &ldquo;Aspiring young entrepreneurs are facing problems from the initial level of registering their&nbsp;companies. Even though our infrastructure projects are gaining ground with many core ideas, a number of policies are being reformed which will be helpful for developing entrepreneurship in Nepal.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;FinTech is not a new concept. Proper payment system and peer-to-peer (P2P) lending system will make life easier as well as save time in this digital world,&rdquo; shared Shahi, adding, &ldquo;Since P2P collects lots of information of both lender and borrower, it is reliable for lending transaction.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Similarly, Bharat Avalani, chief executive officer at Connecting the Dots, Malaysia; Dave McCaughan, chief strategy officer at AI Agency, Thailand; JP Nair, country manager at Qatar Airways; and Puneet Varshney, managing director of Bottlers Nepal Limited spoke in the &lsquo;Marketing and Branding&rsquo; session. Topics like Power of Empathy: Building Deeper Brand Connections through Purpose, AI and Marketing Narrative, Building Brand Value and Influence in Airlines Industry and Brand Activation: Engaging consumers beyond advertising were discussed in the Marketing and Branding session. &nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;A leader must try to identify the problems and find solutions,&rdquo; said Avalani, adding that marketing is not about the products you make but the stories you tell.&nbsp;</p>

<p>McCaughan emphasising the development of artificial intelligence (AI) said that &lsquo;AI will be part of you no matter what business you are in&rsquo;.</p>

<p>The second day of the event will feature two sessions, &lsquo;Entrepreneurship&rsquo; and &lsquo;Leadership Organisation&rsquo; on July 20, Friday at Hotel Radisson, Kathmandu.&nbsp; Nepal Management Symposium, the annual event of KCM, has been continuing since 2011.</p>

<p>The Kathmandu-based Embassy of India said in a statement that the meeting emphasized on the early completion of all bilateral economic and development cooperation projects by addressing difficulties faced by various projects in the process of their implementation, including projects such as cross-border rail projects, integrated check posts, tarai roads project, cross-border transmission lines, Arun-III hydropower project, among others.</p>

<p>The meeting was attended by projects implementing agencies from both the countries. Both the sides discussed measures to be undertaken by the respective governments and agencies to expedite project implementation and their early completion within specified timeframe.</p>

<p>According to the Indian Embassy, the first meeting of the oversight mechanism was held on November 29, 2016 pursuant to the September 2016 direction of the two prime ministers during the state visit of then Nepali prime minister to India.</p>

<p>The 7<sup>th</sup> meeting of the mechanism will take place on a mutually convenient date.</p>

<p>Euromoney, first published in 1969, is an English-language monthly magazine focused on business and finance.</p>

<p>According to NIBL, the Euromoney awards evaluate levels of service, financial performance and other achievements across the banking industry. This year, the organizers received almost 1,500 submissions from banks around the world competing for global, regional and national titles, NIBL said in a statement.</p>

<p>Bhuwaneshwar Prasad Shah, director of NIBL, received the award on behalf of NIBL amidst a special gala dinner at JW Marriott, Pacific Place, Hong Kong. There were almost 500 leading banks from around Asia, according to NIBL. &ldquo;This award is a very fulfilling testimonial of NIBL&rsquo;s strategic achievements,&rdquo; said Director Shah.</p>

<p>With the acquisition of Ace Development Bank, NIBL said its paid-up capital reached Rs 10.65 billion with Rs 20.94 billion core capital and assets worth more than USD 1.5 billion.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The bank delivered a 3rd quarter net profit of Rs 2.84 billion with a deposit base of Rs 130.2 billion and a lending base of Rs 118.8 billion - the highest lending base among private sector banks. It also has 57 branchless banking counters across remote parts of Nepal. The bank disbursed Rs 3.7 billion micro credit loans to deprived sector that has helped in the sustainable development of rural communities,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>

<p>The bank has more than 870,000 customer base catered from its 77 branches and seven extension counters across the country. NIBL has a network of 104 ATMs and leads a consortium 14 Visa Associate banks and seven NPN member banks. There are almost 1.5 million cards issued by its network, along with 790 ATMs and 2,597 POS terminals.</p>

<p>NIBL claimed that it is the only bank in the country to have received the &ldquo;Bank of the Year Award&rdquo; five times from Financial Times Group&rsquo;s The Banker, a UK based bank magazine and has received a credit rating [ICRANP-IR] A+ from ICRA Nepal (International Credit Rating Agency- Nepal).</p>

<p>Pahilo SIM campaign was launched in April 2018 targeting SEE 2018 students. A total of 258 students, comprising 3 to 7 students from each of the 69 educational institutes, have received the partial scholarships worth Rs 5,000 each under the campaign. According to Ncell, the recipients of scholarship were decided based on the merit of internal exams taken by the institutes.</p>

<p>Ncell had collaborated with different educational institutes providing bridge course classes to SEE appeared students across the country to select and handover the partial scholarships under Pahilo SIM campaign.</p>

<p>This is the second year whereby Ncell provided partial scholarships to the SEE appeared students to complete bridge courses under the Pahilo SIM campaign. In 2017, the company said it had awarded partial scholarships to 126 SEE students who enrolled for bridge courses in 42 institutes.</p>

<p>The campaign aimed at recognizing excellence and honouring hard work of SEE appeared students pursuing bridge course in their preparations to enter into the next level of education, Ncell said in a statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The company believes the &lsquo;Pahilo SIM&rsquo; subscribed by the SEE appeared students will enable them to remain connected with their friends and family members in a reliable manner,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>

<p>Sushil Bhattarai while speaking at the inauguration ceremony informed that the locking system will help in curbing fuel leakage. He also expressed his anger towards individuals who had opposed the idea of locking system.</p>

<p>NOC has been importing fuels from Siligudi and Barauni depot in Province 1.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The fuel tanks are locked upon loading the fuel at the depot in India and are opened only in Nepal to stop the leakage.</p>

<p>Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, provincial chief of NOC, informed that the locking system will stop adulteration and theft of fuel.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Three hundred and fifty fuel tanks are mobilized to import 244,000 kilo liters of diesel and 66,000 kilo liters of petrol fuel to the central depot of NOC in Biratnagar and the province has been importing 90 percent of its fuel from Barauni.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Om Raj Bhandari, president of NAS, said, &quot;As the president and one of the founders of Nepal Ambulance Service, I am aware of the dire state of pre-hospital care services throughout Nepal. Many critically ill and injured patients are deprived of timely treatment due to lack of emergency treatments, safe transport to the hospital where they get definitive care. Lack of standard ambulances with trained staff force many people to opt for taxi or sub-standard ambulances with only the driver, which in many cases leads to preventable deaths.&quot;</p>

<p>Speaking on the occasion, keynote speaker Dr Mahadevan from Stanford said, &quot;Like police and fire brigade during our emergencies, pre-hospital care is also equally important and the basic rights of citizens. Every country should work towards their basic rights. I am happy with these sorts of conference and deliberation in partnership with the government.&quot;</p>

<p>Another keynote speaker, Founding President of NAS, Dr Rajesh Gongal stated that &quot;Our country lacks vision for EMS (Emergency Medical Service). All the stakeholders in partnership with Health Ministry should work towards creating a long-term vision. I hope this conference will lead us towards that vision.&quot;</p>

<p>Also speaking at the occasion, Chief Guest, State Minister for Health Padma Kumari Aryal reassured about the partnership between the Ministry of Health and NAS towards creating a call centre for all the ambulances. She said, &quot;NAS should lead the EMS concept and work with the Government of Nepal to provide the quality pre-hospital care to every Nepali.&quot;</p>

<p>Pre-Hospital care is the emergency care a patient receives which is usually performed by emergency medical technicians and paramedics prior to reaching the hospital. It includes immobilization of the injured area in a functional position below the level of the heart, administration of oxygen, establishment of intravenous access on the contralateral side, and transportation of the patient to the nearest medical facility.</p>

<p>The two-day event was inaugurated by Dr Rewat Bahadur Karki, chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) in the presence of students from different colleges and panellists. Speaking at the programme, Karki said, &quot;KCM, being one of the leading management colleges, has been playing a vital role in the area of management in Nepal. And organising such programme is a good initiative for the development of management sector.&quot;</p>

<p>The first day of the symposium had two sessions - &lsquo;Financial Economies&rsquo; and &lsquo;Marketing and Branding&rsquo; - in which eight speakers shared their experiences of their professional life. The sessions were followed by a panel discussion.</p>

<p>For the Financial Economics session, speakers including Annal Raj Bhattarai, founder of Nepal Rating Agency; Dr Manoj Shahi, partner of Active Allocator; Dr Posh Raj Pandey, chairman of South Asia Watch on Trade Economics and Environment (SAWTEE); and Akash Shrestha, research coordinator at Samriddhi Foundation shared their knowledge amongst the participants. The topics discussed in the Financial Economics session included Shaping Nepali Banking Industry, FinTech and Financial Inclusion, Fourth Industrial Revolution and Investment Climate in Nepal.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>Posh Raj Pandey putting an insight about the fourth industrial revolution, said, &quot;Industrial revolution including technological innovation and advancement like digital payment system has made transaction faster, cost effective and has been more productive.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Akash Shrestha mentioned the&nbsp;complex tax regime, impractical standard guidelines, difficulties in accessing finance, price controls, restrictive labour laws and policy disharmony as the major challenges for medium-scale industries in Nepal. He added, &ldquo;Aspiring young entrepreneurs are facing problems from the initial level of registering their&nbsp;companies. Even though our infrastructure projects are gaining ground with many core ideas, a number of policies are being reformed which will be helpful for developing entrepreneurship in Nepal.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;FinTech is not a new concept. Proper payment system and peer-to-peer (P2P) lending system will make life easier as well as save time in this digital world,&rdquo; shared Shahi, adding, &ldquo;Since P2P collects lots of information of both lender and borrower, it is reliable for lending transaction.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Similarly, Bharat Avalani, chief executive officer at Connecting the Dots, Malaysia; Dave McCaughan, chief strategy officer at AI Agency, Thailand; JP Nair, country manager at Qatar Airways; and Puneet Varshney, managing director of Bottlers Nepal Limited spoke in the &lsquo;Marketing and Branding&rsquo; session. Topics like Power of Empathy: Building Deeper Brand Connections through Purpose, AI and Marketing Narrative, Building Brand Value and Influence in Airlines Industry and Brand Activation: Engaging consumers beyond advertising were discussed in the Marketing and Branding session. &nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;A leader must try to identify the problems and find solutions,&rdquo; said Avalani, adding that marketing is not about the products you make but the stories you tell.&nbsp;</p>

<p>McCaughan emphasising the development of artificial intelligence (AI) said that &lsquo;AI will be part of you no matter what business you are in&rsquo;.</p>

<p>The second day of the event will feature two sessions, &lsquo;Entrepreneurship&rsquo; and &lsquo;Leadership Organisation&rsquo; on July 20, Friday at Hotel Radisson, Kathmandu.&nbsp; Nepal Management Symposium, the annual event of KCM, has been continuing since 2011.</p>

<p>The Kathmandu-based Embassy of India said in a statement that the meeting emphasized on the early completion of all bilateral economic and development cooperation projects by addressing difficulties faced by various projects in the process of their implementation, including projects such as cross-border rail projects, integrated check posts, tarai roads project, cross-border transmission lines, Arun-III hydropower project, among others.</p>

<p>The meeting was attended by projects implementing agencies from both the countries. Both the sides discussed measures to be undertaken by the respective governments and agencies to expedite project implementation and their early completion within specified timeframe.</p>

<p>According to the Indian Embassy, the first meeting of the oversight mechanism was held on November 29, 2016 pursuant to the September 2016 direction of the two prime ministers during the state visit of then Nepali prime minister to India.</p>

<p>The 7<sup>th</sup> meeting of the mechanism will take place on a mutually convenient date.</p>

<p>Euromoney, first published in 1969, is an English-language monthly magazine focused on business and finance.</p>

<p>According to NIBL, the Euromoney awards evaluate levels of service, financial performance and other achievements across the banking industry. This year, the organizers received almost 1,500 submissions from banks around the world competing for global, regional and national titles, NIBL said in a statement.</p>

<p>Bhuwaneshwar Prasad Shah, director of NIBL, received the award on behalf of NIBL amidst a special gala dinner at JW Marriott, Pacific Place, Hong Kong. There were almost 500 leading banks from around Asia, according to NIBL. &ldquo;This award is a very fulfilling testimonial of NIBL&rsquo;s strategic achievements,&rdquo; said Director Shah.</p>

<p>With the acquisition of Ace Development Bank, NIBL said its paid-up capital reached Rs 10.65 billion with Rs 20.94 billion core capital and assets worth more than USD 1.5 billion.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The bank delivered a 3rd quarter net profit of Rs 2.84 billion with a deposit base of Rs 130.2 billion and a lending base of Rs 118.8 billion - the highest lending base among private sector banks. It also has 57 branchless banking counters across remote parts of Nepal. The bank disbursed Rs 3.7 billion micro credit loans to deprived sector that has helped in the sustainable development of rural communities,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>

<p>The bank has more than 870,000 customer base catered from its 77 branches and seven extension counters across the country. NIBL has a network of 104 ATMs and leads a consortium 14 Visa Associate banks and seven NPN member banks. There are almost 1.5 million cards issued by its network, along with 790 ATMs and 2,597 POS terminals.</p>

<p>NIBL claimed that it is the only bank in the country to have received the &ldquo;Bank of the Year Award&rdquo; five times from Financial Times Group&rsquo;s The Banker, a UK based bank magazine and has received a credit rating [ICRANP-IR] A+ from ICRA Nepal (International Credit Rating Agency- Nepal).</p>

<p>Pahilo SIM campaign was launched in April 2018 targeting SEE 2018 students. A total of 258 students, comprising 3 to 7 students from each of the 69 educational institutes, have received the partial scholarships worth Rs 5,000 each under the campaign. According to Ncell, the recipients of scholarship were decided based on the merit of internal exams taken by the institutes.</p>

<p>Ncell had collaborated with different educational institutes providing bridge course classes to SEE appeared students across the country to select and handover the partial scholarships under Pahilo SIM campaign.</p>

<p>This is the second year whereby Ncell provided partial scholarships to the SEE appeared students to complete bridge courses under the Pahilo SIM campaign. In 2017, the company said it had awarded partial scholarships to 126 SEE students who enrolled for bridge courses in 42 institutes.</p>

<p>The campaign aimed at recognizing excellence and honouring hard work of SEE appeared students pursuing bridge course in their preparations to enter into the next level of education, Ncell said in a statement.</p>

<p>The security locking system was launched after being approved by the authorities of Nepal Oil Corporation and Indian Oil Corporation.</p>

<p>Ram Prasad Acharya, Chief District Officer of Morang district, and Sushil Bhattarai, CEO of Nepal Oil Corporation, inaugurated the locking system by opening the locks of the fuel tanks arriving from Barauni, India.</p>

<p>Sushil Bhattarai while speaking at the inauguration ceremony informed that the locking system will help in curbing fuel leakage. He also expressed his anger towards individuals who had opposed the idea of locking system.</p>

<p>NOC has been importing fuels from Siligudi and Barauni depot in Province 1.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The fuel tanks are locked upon loading the fuel at the depot in India and are opened only in Nepal to stop the leakage.</p>

<p>Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, provincial chief of NOC, informed that the locking system will stop adulteration and theft of fuel.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Three hundred and fifty fuel tanks are mobilized to import 244,000 kilo liters of diesel and 66,000 kilo liters of petrol fuel to the central depot of NOC in Biratnagar and the province has been importing 90 percent of its fuel from Barauni.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the organisers, the event was conducted to create a scene assessment of the pre-hospital environment, initial assessment of the patient, manage the&nbsp;life threatening&nbsp;emergencies with appropriate initial steps, proper monitoring during the transfer of patients&nbsp;while maintaining good communication with their medical base.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Pre-Hospital Care Conference was conducted with the aim of advancing the knowledge, confidence and skill of the respondents with regards to these challenges.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Om Raj Bhandari, president of NAS, said, &quot;As the president and one of the founders of Nepal Ambulance Service, I am aware of the dire state of pre-hospital care services throughout Nepal. Many critically ill and injured patients are deprived of timely treatment due to lack of emergency treatments, safe transport to the hospital where they get definitive care. Lack of standard ambulances with trained staff force many people to opt for taxi or sub-standard ambulances with only the driver, which in many cases leads to preventable deaths.&quot;</p>

<p>Speaking on the occasion, keynote speaker Dr Mahadevan from Stanford said, &quot;Like police and fire brigade during our emergencies, pre-hospital care is also equally important and the basic rights of citizens. Every country should work towards their basic rights. I am happy with these sorts of conference and deliberation in partnership with the government.&quot;</p>

<p>Another keynote speaker, Founding President of NAS, Dr Rajesh Gongal stated that &quot;Our country lacks vision for EMS (Emergency Medical Service). All the stakeholders in partnership with Health Ministry should work towards creating a long-term vision. I hope this conference will lead us towards that vision.&quot;</p>

<p>Also speaking at the occasion, Chief Guest, State Minister for Health Padma Kumari Aryal reassured about the partnership between the Ministry of Health and NAS towards creating a call centre for all the ambulances. She said, &quot;NAS should lead the EMS concept and work with the Government of Nepal to provide the quality pre-hospital care to every Nepali.&quot;</p>

<p>Pre-Hospital care is the emergency care a patient receives which is usually performed by emergency medical technicians and paramedics prior to reaching the hospital. It includes immobilization of the injured area in a functional position below the level of the heart, administration of oxygen, establishment of intravenous access on the contralateral side, and transportation of the patient to the nearest medical facility.</p>

<p>For the Financial Economics session, speakers including Annal Raj Bhattarai, founder of Nepal Rating Agency; Dr Manoj Shahi, partner of Active Allocator; Dr Posh Raj Pandey, chairman of South Asia Watch on Trade Economics and Environment (SAWTEE); and Akash Shrestha, research coordinator at Samriddhi Foundation shared their knowledge amongst the participants. The topics discussed in the Financial Economics session included Shaping Nepali Banking Industry, FinTech and Financial Inclusion, Fourth Industrial Revolution and Investment Climate in Nepal.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>Posh Raj Pandey putting an insight about the fourth industrial revolution, said, &quot;Industrial revolution including technological innovation and advancement like digital payment system has made transaction faster, cost effective and has been more productive.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Akash Shrestha mentioned the&nbsp;complex tax regime, impractical standard guidelines, difficulties in accessing finance, price controls, restrictive labour laws and policy disharmony as the major challenges for medium-scale industries in Nepal. He added, &ldquo;Aspiring young entrepreneurs are facing problems from the initial level of registering their&nbsp;companies. Even though our infrastructure projects are gaining ground with many core ideas, a number of policies are being reformed which will be helpful for developing entrepreneurship in Nepal.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;FinTech is not a new concept. Proper payment system and peer-to-peer (P2P) lending system will make life easier as well as save time in this digital world,&rdquo; shared Shahi, adding, &ldquo;Since P2P collects lots of information of both lender and borrower, it is reliable for lending transaction.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Similarly, Bharat Avalani, chief executive officer at Connecting the Dots, Malaysia; Dave McCaughan, chief strategy officer at AI Agency, Thailand; JP Nair, country manager at Qatar Airways; and Puneet Varshney, managing director of Bottlers Nepal Limited spoke in the &lsquo;Marketing and Branding&rsquo; session. Topics like Power of Empathy: Building Deeper Brand Connections through Purpose, AI and Marketing Narrative, Building Brand Value and Influence in Airlines Industry and Brand Activation: Engaging consumers beyond advertising were discussed in the Marketing and Branding session. &nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;A leader must try to identify the problems and find solutions,&rdquo; said Avalani, adding that marketing is not about the products you make but the stories you tell.&nbsp;</p>

<p>McCaughan emphasising the development of artificial intelligence (AI) said that &lsquo;AI will be part of you no matter what business you are in&rsquo;.</p>

<p>The second day of the event will feature two sessions, &lsquo;Entrepreneurship&rsquo; and &lsquo;Leadership Organisation&rsquo; on July 20, Friday at Hotel Radisson, Kathmandu.&nbsp; Nepal Management Symposium, the annual event of KCM, has been continuing since 2011.</p>

<p>The Kathmandu-based Embassy of India said in a statement that the meeting emphasized on the early completion of all bilateral economic and development cooperation projects by addressing difficulties faced by various projects in the process of their implementation, including projects such as cross-border rail projects, integrated check posts, tarai roads project, cross-border transmission lines, Arun-III hydropower project, among others.</p>

<p>The meeting was attended by projects implementing agencies from both the countries. Both the sides discussed measures to be undertaken by the respective governments and agencies to expedite project implementation and their early completion within specified timeframe.</p>

<p>According to the Indian Embassy, the first meeting of the oversight mechanism was held on November 29, 2016 pursuant to the September 2016 direction of the two prime ministers during the state visit of then Nepali prime minister to India.</p>

<p>The 7<sup>th</sup> meeting of the mechanism will take place on a mutually convenient date.</p>

			'content' => '<p>July 19: Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIBL) has won the award of &lsquo;Nepal&rsquo;s Best Bank&rsquo; under Euromoney magazine&rsquo;s Awards for Excellence 2018, one of the most significant accolades in financial services.</p>

<p>Euromoney, first published in 1969, is an English-language monthly magazine focused on business and finance.</p>

<p>According to NIBL, the Euromoney awards evaluate levels of service, financial performance and other achievements across the banking industry. This year, the organizers received almost 1,500 submissions from banks around the world competing for global, regional and national titles, NIBL said in a statement.</p>

<p>Bhuwaneshwar Prasad Shah, director of NIBL, received the award on behalf of NIBL amidst a special gala dinner at JW Marriott, Pacific Place, Hong Kong. There were almost 500 leading banks from around Asia, according to NIBL. &ldquo;This award is a very fulfilling testimonial of NIBL&rsquo;s strategic achievements,&rdquo; said Director Shah.</p>

<p>With the acquisition of Ace Development Bank, NIBL said its paid-up capital reached Rs 10.65 billion with Rs 20.94 billion core capital and assets worth more than USD 1.5 billion.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The bank delivered a 3rd quarter net profit of Rs 2.84 billion with a deposit base of Rs 130.2 billion and a lending base of Rs 118.8 billion - the highest lending base among private sector banks. It also has 57 branchless banking counters across remote parts of Nepal. The bank disbursed Rs 3.7 billion micro credit loans to deprived sector that has helped in the sustainable development of rural communities,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>

<p>The bank has more than 870,000 customer base catered from its 77 branches and seven extension counters across the country. NIBL has a network of 104 ATMs and leads a consortium 14 Visa Associate banks and seven NPN member banks. There are almost 1.5 million cards issued by its network, along with 790 ATMs and 2,597 POS terminals.</p>

<p>NIBL claimed that it is the only bank in the country to have received the &ldquo;Bank of the Year Award&rdquo; five times from Financial Times Group&rsquo;s The Banker, a UK based bank magazine and has received a credit rating [ICRANP-IR] A+ from ICRA Nepal (International Credit Rating Agency- Nepal).</p>

<p>As a part of the company&rsquo;s &nbsp;&lsquo;Pahilo SIM&rsquo; campaign, Ncell provided the scholarships to the students studying in 69 different institutes to support them complete the bridge courses for pursing further studies.</p>

<p>Pahilo SIM campaign was launched in April 2018 targeting SEE 2018 students. A total of 258 students, comprising 3 to 7 students from each of the 69 educational institutes, have received the partial scholarships worth Rs 5,000 each under the campaign. According to Ncell, the recipients of scholarship were decided based on the merit of internal exams taken by the institutes.</p>

<p>Ncell had collaborated with different educational institutes providing bridge course classes to SEE appeared students across the country to select and handover the partial scholarships under Pahilo SIM campaign.</p>

<p>This is the second year whereby Ncell provided partial scholarships to the SEE appeared students to complete bridge courses under the Pahilo SIM campaign. In 2017, the company said it had awarded partial scholarships to 126 SEE students who enrolled for bridge courses in 42 institutes.</p>

<p>The campaign aimed at recognizing excellence and honouring hard work of SEE appeared students pursuing bridge course in their preparations to enter into the next level of education, Ncell said in a statement.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The company believes the &lsquo;Pahilo SIM&rsquo; subscribed by the SEE appeared students will enable them to remain connected with their friends and family members in a reliable manner,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>

<p>The security locking system was launched after being approved by the authorities of Nepal Oil Corporation and Indian Oil Corporation.</p>

<p>Ram Prasad Acharya, Chief District Officer of Morang district, and Sushil Bhattarai, CEO of Nepal Oil Corporation, inaugurated the locking system by opening the locks of the fuel tanks arriving from Barauni, India.</p>

<p>Sushil Bhattarai while speaking at the inauguration ceremony informed that the locking system will help in curbing fuel leakage. He also expressed his anger towards individuals who had opposed the idea of locking system.</p>

<p>NOC has been importing fuels from Siligudi and Barauni depot in Province 1.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The fuel tanks are locked upon loading the fuel at the depot in India and are opened only in Nepal to stop the leakage.</p>

<p>Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, provincial chief of NOC, informed that the locking system will stop adulteration and theft of fuel.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Three hundred and fifty fuel tanks are mobilized to import 244,000 kilo liters of diesel and 66,000 kilo liters of petrol fuel to the central depot of NOC in Biratnagar and the province has been importing 90 percent of its fuel from Barauni.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Om Raj Bhandari, president of NAS, said, &quot;As the president and one of the founders of Nepal Ambulance Service, I am aware of the dire state of pre-hospital care services throughout Nepal. Many critically ill and injured patients are deprived of timely treatment due to lack of emergency treatments, safe transport to the hospital where they get definitive care. Lack of standard ambulances with trained staff force many people to opt for taxi or sub-standard ambulances with only the driver, which in many cases leads to preventable deaths.&quot;</p>

<p>Speaking on the occasion, keynote speaker Dr Mahadevan from Stanford said, &quot;Like police and fire brigade during our emergencies, pre-hospital care is also equally important and the basic rights of citizens. Every country should work towards their basic rights. I am happy with these sorts of conference and deliberation in partnership with the government.&quot;</p>

<p>Another keynote speaker, Founding President of NAS, Dr Rajesh Gongal stated that &quot;Our country lacks vision for EMS (Emergency Medical Service). All the stakeholders in partnership with Health Ministry should work towards creating a long-term vision. I hope this conference will lead us towards that vision.&quot;</p>

<p>Also speaking at the occasion, Chief Guest, State Minister for Health Padma Kumari Aryal reassured about the partnership between the Ministry of Health and NAS towards creating a call centre for all the ambulances. She said, &quot;NAS should lead the EMS concept and work with the Government of Nepal to provide the quality pre-hospital care to every Nepali.&quot;</p>

<p>Pre-Hospital care is the emergency care a patient receives which is usually performed by emergency medical technicians and paramedics prior to reaching the hospital. It includes immobilization of the injured area in a functional position below the level of the heart, administration of oxygen, establishment of intravenous access on the contralateral side, and transportation of the patient to the nearest medical facility.</p>

The topics discussed in the Financial Economics session included Shaping Nepali Banking Industry, FinTech and Financial Inclusion, Fourth Industrial Revolution and Investment Climate in Nepal.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>Posh Raj Pandey putting an insight about the fourth industrial revolution, said, &quot;Industrial revolution including technological innovation and advancement like digital payment system has made transaction faster, cost effective and has been more productive.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Akash Shrestha mentioned the&nbsp;complex tax regime, impractical standard guidelines, difficulties in accessing finance, price controls, restrictive labour laws and policy disharmony as the major challenges for medium-scale industries in Nepal. He added, &ldquo;Aspiring young entrepreneurs are facing problems from the initial level of registering their&nbsp;companies. Even though our infrastructure projects are gaining ground with many core ideas, a number of policies are being reformed which will be helpful for developing entrepreneurship in Nepal.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;FinTech is not a new concept. Proper payment system and peer-to-peer (P2P) lending system will make life easier as well as save time in this digital world,&rdquo; shared Shahi, adding, &ldquo;Since P2P collects lots of information of both lender and borrower, it is reliable for lending transaction.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Similarly, Bharat Avalani, chief executive officer at Connecting the Dots, Malaysia; Dave McCaughan, chief strategy officer at AI Agency, Thailand; JP Nair, country manager at Qatar Airways; and Puneet Varshney, managing director of Bottlers Nepal Limited spoke in the &lsquo;Marketing and Branding&rsquo; session. Topics like Power of Empathy: Building Deeper Brand Connections through Purpose, AI and Marketing Narrative, Building Brand Value and Influence in Airlines Industry and Brand Activation: Engaging consumers beyond advertising were discussed in the Marketing and Branding session. &nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;A leader must try to identify the problems and find solutions,&rdquo; said Avalani, adding that marketing is not about the products you make but the stories you tell.&nbsp;</p>

<p>McCaughan emphasising the development of artificial intelligence (AI) said that &lsquo;AI will be part of you no matter what business you are in&rsquo;.</p>

<p>The second day of the event will feature two sessions, &lsquo;Entrepreneurship&rsquo; and &lsquo;Leadership Organisation&rsquo; on July 20, Friday at Hotel Radisson, Kathmandu.&nbsp; Nepal Management Symposium, the annual event of KCM, has been continuing since 2011.</p>

<p>The Kathmandu-based Embassy of India said in a statement that the meeting emphasized on the early completion of all bilateral economic and development cooperation projects by addressing difficulties faced by various projects in the process of their implementation, including projects such as cross-border rail projects, integrated check posts, tarai roads project, cross-border transmission lines, Arun-III hydropower project, among others.</p>

<p>The meeting was attended by projects implementing agencies from both the countries. Both the sides discussed measures to be undertaken by the respective governments and agencies to expedite project implementation and their early completion within specified timeframe.</p>

<p>According to the Indian Embassy, the first meeting of the oversight mechanism was held on November 29, 2016 pursuant to the September 2016 direction of the two prime ministers during the state visit of then Nepali prime minister to India.</p>

<p>The 7<sup>th</sup> meeting of the mechanism will take place on a mutually convenient date.</p>

<p>Euromoney, first published in 1969, is an English-language monthly magazine focused on business and finance.</p>

<p>According to NIBL, the Euromoney awards evaluate levels of service, financial performance and other achievements across the banking industry. This year, the organizers received almost 1,500 submissions from banks around the world competing for global, regional and national titles, NIBL said in a statement.</p>

<p>Bhuwaneshwar Prasad Shah, director of NIBL, received the award on behalf of NIBL amidst a special gala dinner at JW Marriott, Pacific Place, Hong Kong. There were almost 500 leading banks from around Asia, according to NIBL. &ldquo;This award is a very fulfilling testimonial of NIBL&rsquo;s strategic achievements,&rdquo; said Director Shah.</p>

<p>With the acquisition of Ace Development Bank, NIBL said its paid-up capital reached Rs 10.65 billion with Rs 20.94 billion core capital and assets worth more than USD 1.5 billion.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The bank delivered a 3rd quarter net profit of Rs 2.84 billion with a deposit base of Rs 130.2 billion and a lending base of Rs 118.8 billion - the highest lending base among private sector banks. It also has 57 branchless banking counters across remote parts of Nepal. The bank disbursed Rs 3.7 billion micro credit loans to deprived sector that has helped in the sustainable development of rural communities,&rdquo; the statement said.</p>

<p>The bank has more than 870,000 customer base catered from its 77 branches and seven extension counters across the country. NIBL has a network of 104 ATMs and leads a consortium 14 Visa Associate banks and seven NPN member banks. There are almost 1.5 million cards issued by its network, along with 790 ATMs and 2,597 POS terminals.</p>

<p>NIBL claimed that it is the only bank in the country to have received the &ldquo;Bank of the Year Award&rdquo; five times from Financial Times Group&rsquo;s The Banker, a UK based bank magazine and has received a credit rating [ICRANP-IR] A+ from ICRA Nepal (International Credit Rating Agency- Nepal).</p>

<p>This is the second year whereby Ncell provided partial scholarships to the SEE appeared students to complete bridge courses under the Pahilo SIM campaign. In 2017, the company said it had awarded partial scholarships to 126 SEE students who enrolled for bridge courses in 42 institutes.</p>

<p>The campaign aimed at recognizing excellence and honouring hard work of SEE appeared students pursuing bridge course in their preparations to enter into the next level of education, Ncell said in a statement.</p>

<p>Sushil Bhattarai while speaking at the inauguration ceremony informed that the locking system will help in curbing fuel leakage. He also expressed his anger towards individuals who had opposed the idea of locking system.</p>

<p>NOC has been importing fuels from Siligudi and Barauni depot in Province 1.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The fuel tanks are locked upon loading the fuel at the depot in India and are opened only in Nepal to stop the leakage.</p>

<p>Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, provincial chief of NOC, informed that the locking system will stop adulteration and theft of fuel.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Three hundred and fifty fuel tanks are mobilized to import 244,000 kilo liters of diesel and 66,000 kilo liters of petrol fuel to the central depot of NOC in Biratnagar and the province has been importing 90 percent of its fuel from Barauni.&nbsp;</p>
