In a bid to manage Kathmandu Valley’s transportation with large sized public buses, KMC invested its fund in Sajha Yatayat. Manager of Sajha Yatayat Mahendra Raj Pandey informed that the buses will be disabled-friendly with capacity of 40 seats and, including passengers who stand up, a total of 80 people can travel in the bus at a time.</p> <p>Sajha had called global tender for purchase of new buses in last Mangsir. However, the Company Registrar Office issued a circular few weeks back regarding the ownership transfer of shares of such companies. As per the circular, ownership transfer and trading of shares of such companies was made mandatory to be transacted in the OTC market.</p> <p>“Following the directive, Maruti company’s shares are traded in OTC market for the first time”, says Timilsina. Furthermore, he informs that Hathaway Investment Company and Global IME Bank have also initiated registration process in the market. “Other several companies are inquiring about it,” he adds.</p> <p>According to OTC Market Operation Bylaws 2065, ownership transfer and trading of shares of companies should be carried out in the market. After the circular, public companies along with hundreds of other companies that are not listed in securities market are forced to trade in the OTC market. “Share owners need to pay capital gain tax while trading in OTC market which will increase government revenue,” mentions Timilsina, adding, “Trading in OTC market will result transparency.”</p> <p>Transactions through OTC market are free of cost. Registration of the companies is also free in the OTC market. But in case of capital gain, capital gain tax is payable to the government. As per the circular, ownership transfer and trading of shares of such companies was made mandatory to be transacted in the OTC market.</p> <p>“Following the directive, Maruti company’s shares are traded in OTC market for the first time”, says Timilsina. Furthermore, he informs that Hathaway Investment Company and Global IME Bank have also initiated registration process in the market. “Other several companies are inquiring about it,” he adds.</p> <p>According to OTC Market Operation Bylaws 2065, ownership transfer and trading of shares of companies should be carried out in the market. After the circular, public companies along with hundreds of other companies that are not listed in securities market are forced to trade in the OTC market. “Share owners need to pay capital gain tax while trading in OTC market which will increase government revenue,” mentions Timilsina, adding, “Trading in OTC market will result transparency.”</p> <p>Transactions through OTC market are free of cost. Registration of the companies is also free in the OTC market. But in case of capital gain, capital gain tax is payable to the government.
