<p>Thanks to the speedy construction, the works of transmission line will be completed within the deadline.</p>

<p>Upon completion, the line will be supplying 40MW electricity that will arrive from India via the Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur transmission line.</p>

<p>The works of the transmission line will be completed with the given timeframe as 40MW electricity will be coming to the transmission line of Kathmandu from February 1.</p>

<p>According to Parabal Adhikari, Spokesperson of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), the system will be readied to supply power after testing.</p>

<p>Muzaffarpur-Dhalkebar-Khimti is one of the shortest transmission lines from India to bring electricity to Kathmandu.</p>

<p>Dhalkebar-Hetauda-Kulekhani-Matatirtha-Syuchatar is another line to bring transmission line in Kathmandu from India.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Bringing the electricity from the line will create problem of voltage due to its length,&rdquo; said Adhikari, adding, &ldquo;So, we will be using the Khimti-Dhalkebar transmission line.&rdquo;</p>

<p>He further said that another objective behind establishing the transmission line is to distribute electricity coming to Hetauda on the same area including east and south which the NEA has been planning.</p>

<p>The Authority informed that while connecting the electricity to sub-station of Dhalkebar-Hetauda transmission line, the power will be distributed in the areas of Dhalkebar, Pathlaiya, Parwanipur, Simara, Birgunj, Chandranigahapur along with Kamane and Chaukitol of Hetauda.</p>

<p>After being appointed as the Minister for Energy, Janardan Sharma had visited the construction site of the transmission line and directed the NEA to complete the project promptly.</p>

<p>He had said that the installation of 415 transmission towers out of total 792 was finished after his first field visit.</p>

<p>The project has been facing problems regarding the use of land in the jungle areas.</p>

<p>NEA has targeted to install the remaining 377 towers within the next five months.</p>

<p>Currently, 120MW electricity is being imported from India through the Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur line.</p>

<p>As the present transmission capacity of the transmission line is unable to bear the load of the current import of 120MW and 40 MW which will be added later, additional transformer has been installed at the Muzaffarpur sub-station at India to increase the capacity.</p>

<p>NEA has been targeting to upgrade the transmission line to 400KV.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Electricity coming from India to Dhalkebar will be supplied through the 220KV Dhalkebar-Khimti Transmission Line.</p>

<p>The imported power will then arrive Kathmandu Valley through the route of Dhalkebar-Khimti-Lamosaghu-Bhaktapur-Kathmandu.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">NEA is planning to bring maximum of 90MW electricity into the capital through the same route. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Moreover, he said that the company should help concerned authorities to make Pokhara as free Wi-Fi zone.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Kamini Rajbhandari, Managing Director at the NT, said that the NT being a business entity also bears social responsibilities and helps to uplift the country&rsquo;s economy.</p>

<p>On the inaugural event, she informed that NT has already distributed SIM cards with talk value of Rs 50 for free to the locals of the area.</p>

<p>Informing about the newly installed service, Naresh Kaji Shakya, Chief at the NT in Pokhara said that the MSAG has the capacity to hold 736 lines and will be increased as per the demand.</p>

<p>According to him, subscribers can take telephone, internet and fax services from the MSAG at present.</p>

<p>In response to a writ petition filed by advocate Om Prakash Aryal on November 25, 2015, a full bench of Justices Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada, Ananda Mohan Bhattarai and Anil Kumar Sinha yesterday issued a verdict that Karki did not meet the qualifications to lead the anti-graft constitutional body.</p>

<p>Aryal in his writ petition had argued that Karki did not hold the required qualifications to head the CIAA. The court in its verdict stated that Karki&rsquo;s appointment as CIAA chief does not meet the requirement of Articles 119.5c and 119.5e mentioned in the Constitution.</p>

<p>A division bench of Justices Gopal Parajuli and Om Prakash Mishra, however, quashed the writ petition filed by advocate Aryal on September 24, 2014.</p>

<p>Later, a&nbsp;division bench of Chief Justice Sushila Karki, Justices Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha and Sapana Pradhan Malla, on September 16, 2016 had revisited the writ and found that there was an error in the earlier verdict.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the apex court slapped a fine of Rs 1,000 on Karki&#39;s son-in-law Prabal Thapa for obstructing the court officials to paste the summons notice at Karki&rsquo;s house in New Baneshwor.</p>

<p>The court also issued a mandamus order to the Constitutional Council and President&rsquo;s Office to appoint a qualified person as the Chief Commissioner of CIAA.</p>

<p>The then Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi-led interim council had appointed Karki to the top post of CIAA.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The meeting has also decided to extend the time for the management of financial resources of the Upper Karnali Hydropower Project and Arun-3 Hydropower Project,&rdquo; reads a press statement by the IBN.</p>

<p>The meeting has directed the Ministry of Energy and IBN to prepare a draft for the development of the proposed Tamakoshi-3 Hydropower Project.</p>

<p>On the occasion, PM Dahal urged all government authorities to work seriously for the development of large hydropower projects.</p>

Among the 80MW, import of 40MW has started from January 1, whereas additional 40MW will be imported from February 1.</p>

<p>MoE has also expressed its willingness to purchase power produced from various resources within the country to fulfill the demand of electricity.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The government had decided to provide Rs 2.5 million to the quake victims of Kathmandu Valley and Rs 1.5 million to the victims residing outside the Valley to rebuild their houses at an annual interest rate of two percent. Narayan Prasad Subedi, Spokesperson of NRB informed that Rs 254.8 million has already been distributed as the refinancing facility to the quake victims.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to NRB, BFIs have provided subsidised loans totaling Rs 59 million last year to the quake victims while it has amounted Rs 195.8 million this year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to a report prepared by the National Planning Commission (NPC), 498,852 houses were completely destroyed and similar number of houses were partially damaged in the devastating earthquake that rattled that nation in 2015.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">It is said that the ineffective implementation of the plan is due to the 16-point work procedure of the central bank and internal loan policy of the BFIs. According to the Work Procedure, 2072 issued by NRB, the refinancing scheme is available only to those who have completely lost their houses in the quake.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Sanima Bank has provided subsidised loans under the refinancing scheme to five quake victims so far. As per the bank, among the loan recipients, two are from Kathmandu Valley, whereas three are from outside the capital valley. Hemanta Shrestha, Credit Department Head of Sanima Bank Kalanki Branch office said that the bank provides the loan only after the owners starts Damp Proof Course (DPC) process of the houses.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">He further said that earthquake victim identity card, income source, land near 10 feet road and approved earthquake resistant house blueprint, among others, are required to apply for the subsidised loans under the refinancing scheme. The BFIs then after provide such loans to the applicants on the basis of the NRB work procedure taking the land as the collateral.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NRB has been providing the BFIs with the money at zero percent interest rate to undertake refinancing scheme to aid quake victims.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Upon completion, the line will be supplying 40MW electricity that will arrive from India via the Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur transmission line.</p>

<p>The works of the transmission line will be completed with the given timeframe as 40MW electricity will be coming to the transmission line of Kathmandu from February 1.</p>

<p>According to Parabal Adhikari, Spokesperson of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), the system will be readied to supply power after testing.</p>

<p>Muzaffarpur-Dhalkebar-Khimti is one of the shortest transmission lines from India to bring electricity to Kathmandu.</p>

<p>Dhalkebar-Hetauda-Kulekhani-Matatirtha-Syuchatar is another line to bring transmission line in Kathmandu from India.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Bringing the electricity from the line will create problem of voltage due to its length,&rdquo; said Adhikari, adding, &ldquo;So, we will be using the Khimti-Dhalkebar transmission line.&rdquo;</p>

<p>He further said that another objective behind establishing the transmission line is to distribute electricity coming to Hetauda on the same area including east and south which the NEA has been planning.</p>

<p>The Authority informed that while connecting the electricity to sub-station of Dhalkebar-Hetauda transmission line, the power will be distributed in the areas of Dhalkebar, Pathlaiya, Parwanipur, Simara, Birgunj, Chandranigahapur along with Kamane and Chaukitol of Hetauda.</p>

<p>After being appointed as the Minister for Energy, Janardan Sharma had visited the construction site of the transmission line and directed the NEA to complete the project promptly.</p>

<p>He had said that the installation of 415 transmission towers out of total 792 was finished after his first field visit.</p>

<p>The project has been facing problems regarding the use of land in the jungle areas.</p>

<p>NEA has targeted to install the remaining 377 towers within the next five months.</p>

<p>Currently, 120MW electricity is being imported from India through the Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur line.</p>

<p>As the present transmission capacity of the transmission line is unable to bear the load of the current import of 120MW and 40 MW which will be added later, additional transformer has been installed at the Muzaffarpur sub-station at India to increase the capacity.</p>

<p>NEA has been targeting to upgrade the transmission line to 400KV.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Electricity coming from India to Dhalkebar will be supplied through the 220KV Dhalkebar-Khimti Transmission Line.</p>

<p>The imported power will then arrive Kathmandu Valley through the route of Dhalkebar-Khimti-Lamosaghu-Bhaktapur-Kathmandu.</p>

<p>In response to a writ petition filed by advocate Om Prakash Aryal on November 25, 2015, a full bench of Justices Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada, Ananda Mohan Bhattarai and Anil Kumar Sinha yesterday issued a verdict that Karki did not meet the qualifications to lead the anti-graft constitutional body.</p>

<p>Aryal in his writ petition had argued that Karki did not hold the required qualifications to head the CIAA. The court in its verdict stated that Karki&rsquo;s appointment as CIAA chief does not meet the requirement of Articles 119.5c and 119.5e mentioned in the Constitution.</p>

<p>A division bench of Justices Gopal Parajuli and Om Prakash Mishra, however, quashed the writ petition filed by advocate Aryal on September 24, 2014.</p>

<p>Later, a&nbsp;division bench of Chief Justice Sushila Karki, Justices Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha and Sapana Pradhan Malla, on September 16, 2016 had revisited the writ and found that there was an error in the earlier verdict.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the apex court slapped a fine of Rs 1,000 on Karki&#39;s son-in-law Prabal Thapa for obstructing the court officials to paste the summons notice at Karki&rsquo;s house in New Baneshwor.</p>

<p>The court also issued a mandamus order to the Constitutional Council and President&rsquo;s Office to appoint a qualified person as the Chief Commissioner of CIAA.</p>

<p>The then Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi-led interim council had appointed Karki to the top post of CIAA.</p>

<p>Similarly, the meeting decided to waive the 0.2 percent upfront fee for the companies that are in the process of signing Project Development Agreement (PDA) with IBN regarding the development of Kathmandu Valley Solid Waste Management Project. &nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;The meeting has also decided to extend the time for the management of financial resources of the Upper Karnali Hydropower Project and Arun-3 Hydropower Project,&rdquo; reads a press statement by the IBN.</p>

<p>The meeting has directed the Ministry of Energy and IBN to prepare a draft for the development of the proposed Tamakoshi-3 Hydropower Project.</p>

<p>On the occasion, PM Dahal urged all government authorities to work seriously for the development of large hydropower projects.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, IBN Chief Executive Officer Mahad Prasad Adhikari apprised the meeting with the current status of projects of IBN.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Minister for Energy Janardan Sharma and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Hit Raj Pandey, Minister for Industry Navindra Raj Joshi, Nepal Rastra Governor Bank Dr Chiranjivi Nepal and National Planning Commission Vice-chairman Min Bahadur Shrestha were among those present in the meeting.</p>

<p>With an objective to fulfill the electricity demand in dry season as well, Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has signed an agreement with NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam to procure additional 80MW electricity from India. Among the 80MW, import of 40MW has started from January 1, whereas additional 40MW will be imported from February 1.</p>

<p>MoE has also expressed its willingness to purchase power produced from various resources within the country to fulfill the demand of electricity.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The government had decided to provide Rs 2.5 million to the quake victims of Kathmandu Valley and Rs 1.5 million to the victims residing outside the Valley to rebuild their houses at an annual interest rate of two percent. Narayan Prasad Subedi, Spokesperson of NRB informed that Rs 254.8 million has already been distributed as the refinancing facility to the quake victims.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to NRB, BFIs have provided subsidised loans totaling Rs 59 million last year to the quake victims while it has amounted Rs 195.8 million this year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to a report prepared by the National Planning Commission (NPC), 498,852 houses were completely destroyed and similar number of houses were partially damaged in the devastating earthquake that rattled that nation in 2015.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">It is said that the ineffective implementation of the plan is due to the 16-point work procedure of the central bank and internal loan policy of the BFIs. According to the Work Procedure, 2072 issued by NRB, the refinancing scheme is available only to those who have completely lost their houses in the quake.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Sanima Bank has provided subsidised loans under the refinancing scheme to five quake victims so far. As per the bank, among the loan recipients, two are from Kathmandu Valley, whereas three are from outside the capital valley. Hemanta Shrestha, Credit Department Head of Sanima Bank Kalanki Branch office said that the bank provides the loan only after the owners starts Damp Proof Course (DPC) process of the houses.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">He further said that earthquake victim identity card, income source, land near 10 feet road and approved earthquake resistant house blueprint, among others, are required to apply for the subsidised loans under the refinancing scheme. The BFIs then after provide such loans to the applicants on the basis of the NRB work procedure taking the land as the collateral.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NRB has been providing the BFIs with the money at zero percent interest rate to undertake refinancing scheme to aid quake victims.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Thanks to the speedy construction, the works of transmission line will be completed within the deadline.</p>

<p>Upon completion, the line will be supplying 40MW electricity that will arrive from India via the Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur transmission line.</p>

<p>The works of the transmission line will be completed with the given timeframe as 40MW electricity will be coming to the transmission line of Kathmandu from February 1.</p>

<p>According to Parabal Adhikari, Spokesperson of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), the system will be readied to supply power after testing.</p>

<p>Muzaffarpur-Dhalkebar-Khimti is one of the shortest transmission lines from India to bring electricity to Kathmandu.</p>

<p>Dhalkebar-Hetauda-Kulekhani-Matatirtha-Syuchatar is another line to bring transmission line in Kathmandu from India.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Bringing the electricity from the line will create problem of voltage due to its length,&rdquo; said Adhikari, adding, &ldquo;So, we will be using the Khimti-Dhalkebar transmission line.&rdquo;</p>

<p>He further said that another objective behind establishing the transmission line is to distribute electricity coming to Hetauda on the same area including east and south which the NEA has been planning.</p>

<p>The Authority informed that while connecting the electricity to sub-station of Dhalkebar-Hetauda transmission line, the power will be distributed in the areas of Dhalkebar, Pathlaiya, Parwanipur, Simara, Birgunj, Chandranigahapur along with Kamane and Chaukitol of Hetauda.</p>

<p>After being appointed as the Minister for Energy, Janardan Sharma had visited the construction site of the transmission line and directed the NEA to complete the project promptly.</p>

<p>He had said that the installation of 415 transmission towers out of total 792 was finished after his first field visit.</p>

<p>The project has been facing problems regarding the use of land in the jungle areas.</p>

<p>NEA has targeted to install the remaining 377 towers within the next five months.</p>

<p>Currently, 120MW electricity is being imported from India through the Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur line.</p>

<p>As the present transmission capacity of the transmission line is unable to bear the load of the current import of 120MW and 40 MW which will be added later, additional transformer has been installed at the Muzaffarpur sub-station at India to increase the capacity.</p>

<p>NEA has been targeting to upgrade the transmission line to 400KV.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Electricity coming from India to Dhalkebar will be supplied through the 220KV Dhalkebar-Khimti Transmission Line.</p>

<p>The imported power will then arrive Kathmandu Valley through the route of Dhalkebar-Khimti-Lamosaghu-Bhaktapur-Kathmandu.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">NEA is planning to bring maximum of 90MW electricity into the capital through the same route. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to him, subscribers can take telephone, internet and fax services from the MSAG at present.</p>

<p>In response to a writ petition filed by advocate Om Prakash Aryal on November 25, 2015, a full bench of Justices Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada, Ananda Mohan Bhattarai and Anil Kumar Sinha yesterday issued a verdict that Karki did not meet the qualifications to lead the anti-graft constitutional body.</p>

<p>Aryal in his writ petition had argued that Karki did not hold the required qualifications to head the CIAA. The court in its verdict stated that Karki&rsquo;s appointment as CIAA chief does not meet the requirement of Articles 119.5c and 119.5e mentioned in the Constitution.</p>

<p>A division bench of Justices Gopal Parajuli and Om Prakash Mishra, however, quashed the writ petition filed by advocate Aryal on September 24, 2014.</p>

<p>Later, a&nbsp;division bench of Chief Justice Sushila Karki, Justices Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha and Sapana Pradhan Malla, on September 16, 2016 had revisited the writ and found that there was an error in the earlier verdict.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the apex court slapped a fine of Rs 1,000 on Karki&#39;s son-in-law Prabal Thapa for obstructing the court officials to paste the summons notice at Karki&rsquo;s house in New Baneshwor.</p>

<p>The court also issued a mandamus order to the Constitutional Council and President&rsquo;s Office to appoint a qualified person as the Chief Commissioner of CIAA.</p>

<p>The then Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi-led interim council had appointed Karki to the top post of CIAA.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The government had decided to provide Rs 2.5 million to the quake victims of Kathmandu Valley and Rs 1.5 million to the victims residing outside the Valley to rebuild their houses at an annual interest rate of two percent. Narayan Prasad Subedi, Spokesperson of NRB informed that Rs 254.8 million has already been distributed as the refinancing facility to the quake victims.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to NRB, BFIs have provided subsidised loans totaling Rs 59 million last year to the quake victims while it has amounted Rs 195.8 million this year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to a report prepared by the National Planning Commission (NPC), 498,852 houses were completely destroyed and similar number of houses were partially damaged in the devastating earthquake that rattled that nation in 2015.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">It is said that the ineffective implementation of the plan is due to the 16-point work procedure of the central bank and internal loan policy of the BFIs. According to the Work Procedure, 2072 issued by NRB, the refinancing scheme is available only to those who have completely lost their houses in the quake.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Sanima Bank has provided subsidised loans under the refinancing scheme to five quake victims so far. As per the bank, among the loan recipients, two are from Kathmandu Valley, whereas three are from outside the capital valley. Hemanta Shrestha, Credit Department Head of Sanima Bank Kalanki Branch office said that the bank provides the loan only after the owners starts Damp Proof Course (DPC) process of the houses.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">He further said that earthquake victim identity card, income source, land near 10 feet road and approved earthquake resistant house blueprint, among others, are required to apply for the subsidised loans under the refinancing scheme. The BFIs then after provide such loans to the applicants on the basis of the NRB work procedure taking the land as the collateral.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NRB has been providing the BFIs with the money at zero percent interest rate to undertake refinancing scheme to aid quake victims.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Upon completion, the line will be supplying 40MW electricity that will arrive from India via the Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur transmission line.</p>

<p>The works of the transmission line will be completed with the given timeframe as 40MW electricity will be coming to the transmission line of Kathmandu from February 1.</p>

<p>According to Parabal Adhikari, Spokesperson of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), the system will be readied to supply power after testing.</p>

<p>Muzaffarpur-Dhalkebar-Khimti is one of the shortest transmission lines from India to bring electricity to Kathmandu.</p>

<p>Dhalkebar-Hetauda-Kulekhani-Matatirtha-Syuchatar is another line to bring transmission line in Kathmandu from India.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Bringing the electricity from the line will create problem of voltage due to its length,&rdquo; said Adhikari, adding, &ldquo;So, we will be using the Khimti-Dhalkebar transmission line.&rdquo;</p>

<p>He further said that another objective behind establishing the transmission line is to distribute electricity coming to Hetauda on the same area including east and south which the NEA has been planning.</p>

<p>The Authority informed that while connecting the electricity to sub-station of Dhalkebar-Hetauda transmission line, the power will be distributed in the areas of Dhalkebar, Pathlaiya, Parwanipur, Simara, Birgunj, Chandranigahapur along with Kamane and Chaukitol of Hetauda.</p>

<p>After being appointed as the Minister for Energy, Janardan Sharma had visited the construction site of the transmission line and directed the NEA to complete the project promptly.</p>

<p>He had said that the installation of 415 transmission towers out of total 792 was finished after his first field visit.</p>

<p>The project has been facing problems regarding the use of land in the jungle areas.</p>

<p>NEA has targeted to install the remaining 377 towers within the next five months.</p>

<p>Currently, 120MW electricity is being imported from India through the Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur line.</p>

<p>As the present transmission capacity of the transmission line is unable to bear the load of the current import of 120MW and 40 MW which will be added later, additional transformer has been installed at the Muzaffarpur sub-station at India to increase the capacity.</p>

<p>NEA has been targeting to upgrade the transmission line to 400KV.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Electricity coming from India to Dhalkebar will be supplied through the 220KV Dhalkebar-Khimti Transmission Line.</p>

<p>The imported power will then arrive Kathmandu Valley through the route of Dhalkebar-Khimti-Lamosaghu-Bhaktapur-Kathmandu.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">NEA is planning to bring maximum of 90MW electricity into the capital through the same route. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>In response to a writ petition filed by advocate Om Prakash Aryal on November 25, 2015, a full bench of Justices Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada, Ananda Mohan Bhattarai and Anil Kumar Sinha yesterday issued a verdict that Karki did not meet the qualifications to lead the anti-graft constitutional body.</p>

<p>Aryal in his writ petition had argued that Karki did not hold the required qualifications to head the CIAA. The court in its verdict stated that Karki&rsquo;s appointment as CIAA chief does not meet the requirement of Articles 119.5c and 119.5e mentioned in the Constitution.</p>

<p>A division bench of Justices Gopal Parajuli and Om Prakash Mishra, however, quashed the writ petition filed by advocate Aryal on September 24, 2014.</p>

<p>Later, a&nbsp;division bench of Chief Justice Sushila Karki, Justices Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha and Sapana Pradhan Malla, on September 16, 2016 had revisited the writ and found that there was an error in the earlier verdict.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the apex court slapped a fine of Rs 1,000 on Karki&#39;s son-in-law Prabal Thapa for obstructing the court officials to paste the summons notice at Karki&rsquo;s house in New Baneshwor.</p>

<p>The court also issued a mandamus order to the Constitutional Council and President&rsquo;s Office to appoint a qualified person as the Chief Commissioner of CIAA.</p>

<p>The then Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi-led interim council had appointed Karki to the top post of CIAA.</p>

<p>With an objective to fulfill the electricity demand in dry season as well, Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has signed an agreement with NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam to procure additional 80MW electricity from India. Among the 80MW, import of 40MW has started from January 1, whereas additional 40MW will be imported from February 1.</p>

<p>MoE has also expressed its willingness to purchase power produced from various resources within the country to fulfill the demand of electricity.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The government had decided to provide Rs 2.5 million to the quake victims of Kathmandu Valley and Rs 1.5 million to the victims residing outside the Valley to rebuild their houses at an annual interest rate of two percent. Narayan Prasad Subedi, Spokesperson of NRB informed that Rs 254.8 million has already been distributed as the refinancing facility to the quake victims.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to NRB, BFIs have provided subsidised loans totaling Rs 59 million last year to the quake victims while it has amounted Rs 195.8 million this year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to a report prepared by the National Planning Commission (NPC), 498,852 houses were completely destroyed and similar number of houses were partially damaged in the devastating earthquake that rattled that nation in 2015.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">It is said that the ineffective implementation of the plan is due to the 16-point work procedure of the central bank and internal loan policy of the BFIs. According to the Work Procedure, 2072 issued by NRB, the refinancing scheme is available only to those who have completely lost their houses in the quake.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Sanima Bank has provided subsidised loans under the refinancing scheme to five quake victims so far. As per the bank, among the loan recipients, two are from Kathmandu Valley, whereas three are from outside the capital valley. Hemanta Shrestha, Credit Department Head of Sanima Bank Kalanki Branch office said that the bank provides the loan only after the owners starts Damp Proof Course (DPC) process of the houses.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">He further said that earthquake victim identity card, income source, land near 10 feet road and approved earthquake resistant house blueprint, among others, are required to apply for the subsidised loans under the refinancing scheme. The BFIs then after provide such loans to the applicants on the basis of the NRB work procedure taking the land as the collateral.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NRB has been providing the BFIs with the money at zero percent interest rate to undertake refinancing scheme to aid quake victims.&nbsp;</p>
