<p>&nbsp;&ldquo;In Nepal, we have been exploring ways in which the United Nations could help the local businesses grow more responsible and SDG friendly. With Yeti, we hope to soon unveil equally inspiring joint initiatives that help Nepal meet the global goals by 2030,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p>Yeti Airlines said it is one of the first in Nepal&rsquo;s private sector to partner with the United Nations to promote the SDGs and address many key issues facing Nepal over the next 15 years, and by branding its aircraft with the logos, Yeti and the UN is helping bring the SDGs to the entire country.</p>

<p>Yeti Airlines added that the branding of its ATR 72-500 aircraft with the UN SDGs logo demonstrates the company&rsquo;s continuing commitment to promote the UN goals wherever possible and to do what it can to assist Nepal achieve them.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We thank the United Nations for the opportunity to support these worthy goals,&rdquo; the company said in the statement.</p>

<p>The initiative is part of the airlines&rsquo; on-going partnership with the United Nations in Nepal for the promotion and achievement of the SDGs. Following an agreement earlier in May, the airliner and the UN have come forward with a series of joint programmes and activities aimed at raising awareness on the SDGs and helping Nepal meet some of the global goals targets, according to the press statement.</p>

<p>Under the partnership, Yeti Airlines informed that it would also collaborate with the UN to explore, adopt and promote innovative and sustainable business models in the aviation and tourism industry that would help Nepal meet some specific SDG indicators in the areas of climate change adaptation, poverty reduction and gender equality.</p>

<p>Adopted by the UN Member States, including Nepal, in September 2015, the SDGs, also known as the Global Goals, are a bold, universal agreement to end poverty in all its dimensions and craft an equal, just and secure world &ndash; for the people, the planet and prosperity &ndash; by 2030.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The occupancy till Dashain festival was 65 percent and is believed to go up to 75 percent,&rdquo; said Binayak Shah, secretary general of Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN). He added that the occupancy has been going up as the conference of Non-Resident Nepalis (NRN) is going to be held in Nepal.</p>

<p>NRN representatives have arrived in Nepal at the moment. All of them are international passport holders. He said that the season is appropriate for tourists&rsquo; arrival and the booking of hotel rooms has increased because of NRN conference.</p>

<p>&ldquo;NRNs have been considered as tourists as they hold international passport despite the fact that they are Nepalis,&rdquo; Shah added.</p>

<p>Shah stated not only NRNs but the number of tourists from neighboring countries like China and India has also grown. The arrival of tourists from China and India in comparison to other countries is high as they can opt to enter Nepal through airways or roadways.</p>

<p>According to estimates made by tourism entrepreneurs, the influx of tourists is expected to be higher than that of the previous year.</p>

<p>Shah said the number of tourists who visit Nepal for business and other purposes has grown along with tourists who visit Nepal for adventure sports and climbing mountain.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We always label people as tourists only if they come for recreational purpose but there are hundreds of foreigners in Nepal who come for business and reconstruction purpose,&rdquo; Shah told New Business Age, adding, &ldquo;People living in Nepal as representatives of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) working for reconstruction projects after the April and May, 2015 earthquakes in Nepal have been contributing in tourism sector of Nepal.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Likewise, the number of traders and business persons from India and China has grown in Nepal, he further added.</p>

<p>A meeting of IB&rsquo;s Board of Directors (BoD) on September 20 has given green signal to three of the total four non-life insurance companies which had sought permission for operating business almost ten years ago.</p>

<p>The companies which have received LoI are Ajod Insurance Company, General Insurance Company Nepal and Sanima Insurance Company.</p>

<p>These companies had applied for LoI in April 2008, December 2007 and August 2008, respectively.</p>

<p>Despite receiving the application in April 2009, the IB is yet to approve the application of Manakamana Insurance Company.</p>

<p>According to Sambha Raj Lammichhane, an officer at the monitoring department of IB, the board has not approved the application of the company as it has failed to submit all the necessary documents.</p>

<p>The IB provides LoI to the companies only if they meet the capital requirement as per the criteria set by the board and if the promoters are not in the blacklist.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The three companies which have received LoI should follow all the criteria and construct the infrastructure within the next three months. If the companies fulfill all the criteria, then IB will inspect the insurers to give them permission to start business.</p>

<p>As per the rules, IB can approve the applications of non-life insurance companies, while life insurance companies should seek permission from the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to start business.</p>

<p>There are around five dozen expensive vehicles on the company premises, which are unused since a very long time.&nbsp; Scraps which are worth in Rs 3 to 20 million can be re-used again after repairing.</p>

<p>According to Mahesh Kafle, acting general manager of the industry, scraps are piled up in the junkyard as the industry is waiting for the government&rsquo;s permission for auction.</p>

<p>&ldquo;It is very hard to get materials for repairing the old equipment. Scraps worth Rs 40 million are in the junkyard of the industry,&rdquo; he informed.</p>

<p>There is very less information about how many vehicles were brought to Nepal from the help of Japanese government.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;The public holiday for the third phase of the local level polls and for the recently concluded Dashain festival have resulted in huge queue of cargo trucks in the Nepal-India border. According to the local industrialists and the traders, the obstruction in the vehicular moment in Birgunj-Raxual has hit the business in the region.</p>

<p>Industrialists of Birgunj are facing many difficulties in trading commodities between the two countries, Om Prakash Sharma, president of Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI), said.</p>

<p>The vehicular moment was banned by the government for 72 hours during the local level polls for Province 2 on September 18. Likewise, the vehicular moment was also halted during Dashain, which has created big queue of cargo trucks in the border.</p>

<p>BCCI has been requesting Birgunj Customs Office, the local police and other authorities to solve the problem at the earliest. According to Madhav Rajpal, secretary at the BCCI, the cargo trucks are in huge number between Raxual yard of Indian Railways and the highway in Nepal. &ldquo;The cargo trucks carrying raw materials and other commodities are stuck in the Indian side,&rdquo; Rajpal said.</p>

<p>According to the traders, they are forced to pay huge amount fine as they have been unable to clear the goods on time.&nbsp; &ldquo;Domestic traders are hit hard by the obstruction in the vehicular moment. We have requested the concerned authorities to solve the problem at the earliest,&rdquo; President Sharma said.</p>

<p>There is a 35-kilometer long queue of cargo trucks in between Raxual to Sugauli. There are around 3,500 cargo trucks in the queue, which have been carrying different commodities to Nepal from India and from other countries via the Indian land.<a name="_GoBack"></a></p>

<p>&ldquo;The occupancy till Dashain festival was 65 percent and is believed to go up to 75 percent,&rdquo; said Binayak Shah, secretary general of Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN). He added that the occupancy has been going up as the conference of Non-Resident Nepalis (NRN) is going to be held in Nepal.</p>

<p>NRN representatives have arrived in Nepal at the moment. All of them are international passport holders. He said that the season is appropriate for tourists&rsquo; arrival and the booking of hotel rooms has increased because of NRN conference.</p>

<p>&ldquo;NRNs have been considered as tourists as they hold international passport despite the fact that they are Nepalis,&rdquo; Shah added.</p>

<p>Shah stated not only NRNs but the number of tourists from neighboring countries like China and India has also grown. The arrival of tourists from China and India in comparison to other countries is high as they can opt to enter Nepal through airways or roadways.</p>

<p>According to estimates made by tourism entrepreneurs, the influx of tourists is expected to be higher than that of the previous year.</p>

<p>Shah said the number of tourists who visit Nepal for business and other purposes has grown along with tourists who visit Nepal for adventure sports and climbing mountain.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We always label people as tourists only if they come for recreational purpose but there are hundreds of foreigners in Nepal who come for business and reconstruction purpose,&rdquo; Shah told New Business Age, adding, &ldquo;People living in Nepal as representatives of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) working for reconstruction projects after the April and May, 2015 earthquakes in Nepal have been contributing in tourism sector of Nepal.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Likewise, the number of traders and business persons from India and China has grown in Nepal, he further added.</p>

<p>A meeting of IB&rsquo;s Board of Directors (BoD) on September 20 has given green signal to three of the total four non-life insurance companies which had sought permission for operating business almost ten years ago.</p>

<p>The companies which have received LoI are Ajod Insurance Company, General Insurance Company Nepal and Sanima Insurance Company.</p>

<p>These companies had applied for LoI in April 2008, December 2007 and August 2008, respectively.</p>

<p>Despite receiving the application in April 2009, the IB is yet to approve the application of Manakamana Insurance Company.</p>

<p>According to Sambha Raj Lammichhane, an officer at the monitoring department of IB, the board has not approved the application of the company as it has failed to submit all the necessary documents.</p>

<p>The IB provides LoI to the companies only if they meet the capital requirement as per the criteria set by the board and if the promoters are not in the blacklist.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The three companies which have received LoI should follow all the criteria and construct the infrastructure within the next three months. If the companies fulfill all the criteria, then IB will inspect the insurers to give them permission to start business.</p>

<p>As per the rules, IB can approve the applications of non-life insurance companies, while life insurance companies should seek permission from the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to start business.</p>

<p>Many of the machineries, vehicles, and other modern equipment brought to Nepal from Japan have now become defunct. &nbsp;&nbsp;Those equipment and machineries are now piled up in the junkyard of the company.</p>

<p>There are around five dozen expensive vehicles on the company premises, which are unused since a very long time.&nbsp; Scraps which are worth in Rs 3 to 20 million can be re-used again after repairing.</p>

<p>According to Mahesh Kafle, acting general manager of the industry, scraps are piled up in the junkyard as the industry is waiting for the government&rsquo;s permission for auction.</p>

<p>&ldquo;It is very hard to get materials for repairing the old equipment. Scraps worth Rs 40 million are in the junkyard of the industry,&rdquo; he informed.</p>

<p>There is very less information about how many vehicles were brought to Nepal from the help of Japanese government.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Industrialists of Birgunj are facing many difficulties in trading commodities between the two countries, Om Prakash Sharma, president of Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI), said.</p>

<p>The vehicular moment was banned by the government for 72 hours during the local level polls for Province 2 on September 18. Likewise, the vehicular moment was also halted during Dashain, which has created big queue of cargo trucks in the border.</p>

<p>BCCI has been requesting Birgunj Customs Office, the local police and other authorities to solve the problem at the earliest. According to Madhav Rajpal, secretary at the BCCI, the cargo trucks are in huge number between Raxual yard of Indian Railways and the highway in Nepal. &ldquo;The cargo trucks carrying raw materials and other commodities are stuck in the Indian side,&rdquo; Rajpal said.</p>

<p>According to the traders, they are forced to pay huge amount fine as they have been unable to clear the goods on time.&nbsp; &ldquo;Domestic traders are hit hard by the obstruction in the vehicular moment. We have requested the concerned authorities to solve the problem at the earliest,&rdquo; President Sharma said.</p>

<p>There is a 35-kilometer long queue of cargo trucks in between Raxual to Sugauli. There are around 3,500 cargo trucks in the queue, which have been carrying different commodities to Nepal from India and from other countries via the Indian land.<a name="_GoBack"></a></p>

<p>&ldquo;The occupancy till Dashain festival was 65 percent and is believed to go up to 75 percent,&rdquo; said Binayak Shah, secretary general of Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN). He added that the occupancy has been going up as the conference of Non-Resident Nepalis (NRN) is going to be held in Nepal.</p>

<p>NRN representatives have arrived in Nepal at the moment. All of them are international passport holders. He said that the season is appropriate for tourists&rsquo; arrival and the booking of hotel rooms has increased because of NRN conference.</p>

<p>&ldquo;NRNs have been considered as tourists as they hold international passport despite the fact that they are Nepalis,&rdquo; Shah added.</p>

<p>Shah stated not only NRNs but the number of tourists from neighboring countries like China and India has also grown. The arrival of tourists from China and India in comparison to other countries is high as they can opt to enter Nepal through airways or roadways.</p>

<p>According to estimates made by tourism entrepreneurs, the influx of tourists is expected to be higher than that of the previous year.</p>

<p>Shah said the number of tourists who visit Nepal for business and other purposes has grown along with tourists who visit Nepal for adventure sports and climbing mountain.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We always label people as tourists only if they come for recreational purpose but there are hundreds of foreigners in Nepal who come for business and reconstruction purpose,&rdquo; Shah told New Business Age, adding, &ldquo;People living in Nepal as representatives of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) working for reconstruction projects after the April and May, 2015 earthquakes in Nepal have been contributing in tourism sector of Nepal.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Likewise, the number of traders and business persons from India and China has grown in Nepal, he further added.</p>

<p>A meeting of IB&rsquo;s Board of Directors (BoD) on September 20 has given green signal to three of the total four non-life insurance companies which had sought permission for operating business almost ten years ago.</p>

<p>The companies which have received LoI are Ajod Insurance Company, General Insurance Company Nepal and Sanima Insurance Company.</p>

<p>These companies had applied for LoI in April 2008, December 2007 and August 2008, respectively.</p>

<p>Despite receiving the application in April 2009, the IB is yet to approve the application of Manakamana Insurance Company.</p>

<p>According to Sambha Raj Lammichhane, an officer at the monitoring department of IB, the board has not approved the application of the company as it has failed to submit all the necessary documents.</p>

<p>The IB provides LoI to the companies only if they meet the capital requirement as per the criteria set by the board and if the promoters are not in the blacklist.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The three companies which have received LoI should follow all the criteria and construct the infrastructure within the next three months. If the companies fulfill all the criteria, then IB will inspect the insurers to give them permission to start business.</p>

<p>As per the rules, IB can approve the applications of non-life insurance companies, while life insurance companies should seek permission from the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to start business.</p>

<p>According to Mahesh Kafle, acting general manager of the industry, scraps are piled up in the junkyard as the industry is waiting for the government&rsquo;s permission for auction.</p>

<p>&ldquo;It is very hard to get materials for repairing the old equipment. Scraps worth Rs 40 million are in the junkyard of the industry,&rdquo; he informed.</p>

<p>There is very less information about how many vehicles were brought to Nepal from the help of Japanese government.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Industrialists of Birgunj are facing many difficulties in trading commodities between the two countries, Om Prakash Sharma, president of Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCCI), said.</p>

<p>The vehicular moment was banned by the government for 72 hours during the local level polls for Province 2 on September 18. Likewise, the vehicular moment was also halted during Dashain, which has created big queue of cargo trucks in the border.</p>

<p>BCCI has been requesting Birgunj Customs Office, the local police and other authorities to solve the problem at the earliest. According to Madhav Rajpal, secretary at the BCCI, the cargo trucks are in huge number between Raxual yard of Indian Railways and the highway in Nepal. &ldquo;The cargo trucks carrying raw materials and other commodities are stuck in the Indian side,&rdquo; Rajpal said.</p>

<p>According to the traders, they are forced to pay huge amount fine as they have been unable to clear the goods on time.&nbsp; &ldquo;Domestic traders are hit hard by the obstruction in the vehicular moment. We have requested the concerned authorities to solve the problem at the earliest,&rdquo; President Sharma said.</p>

<p>There is a 35-kilometer long queue of cargo trucks in between Raxual to Sugauli. There are around 3,500 cargo trucks in the queue, which have been carrying different commodities to Nepal from India and from other countries via the Indian land.<a name="_GoBack"></a></p>

<p>Yeti Airlines said it is one of the first in Nepal&rsquo;s private sector to partner with the United Nations to promote the SDGs and address many key issues facing Nepal over the next 15 years, and by branding its aircraft with the logos, Yeti and the UN is helping bring the SDGs to the entire country.</p>

<p>Yeti Airlines added that the branding of its ATR 72-500 aircraft with the UN SDGs logo demonstrates the company&rsquo;s continuing commitment to promote the UN goals wherever possible and to do what it can to assist Nepal achieve them.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We thank the United Nations for the opportunity to support these worthy goals,&rdquo; the company said in the statement.</p>

<p>The initiative is part of the airlines&rsquo; on-going partnership with the United Nations in Nepal for the promotion and achievement of the SDGs. Following an agreement earlier in May, the airliner and the UN have come forward with a series of joint programmes and activities aimed at raising awareness on the SDGs and helping Nepal meet some of the global goals targets, according to the press statement.</p>

<p>Under the partnership, Yeti Airlines informed that it would also collaborate with the UN to explore, adopt and promote innovative and sustainable business models in the aviation and tourism industry that would help Nepal meet some specific SDG indicators in the areas of climate change adaptation, poverty reduction and gender equality.</p>

<p>Adopted by the UN Member States, including Nepal, in September 2015, the SDGs, also known as the Global Goals, are a bold, universal agreement to end poverty in all its dimensions and craft an equal, just and secure world &ndash; for the people, the planet and prosperity &ndash; by 2030.</p>

<p>Shah stated not only NRNs but the number of tourists from neighboring countries like China and India has also grown. The arrival of tourists from China and India in comparison to other countries is high as they can opt to enter Nepal through airways or roadways.</p>

<p>According to estimates made by tourism entrepreneurs, the influx of tourists is expected to be higher than that of the previous year.</p>

<p>Shah said the number of tourists who visit Nepal for business and other purposes has grown along with tourists who visit Nepal for adventure sports and climbing mountain.</p>

<p>&ldquo;We always label people as tourists only if they come for recreational purpose but there are hundreds of foreigners in Nepal who come for business and reconstruction purpose,&rdquo; Shah told New Business Age, adding, &ldquo;People living in Nepal as representatives of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) working for reconstruction projects after the April and May, 2015 earthquakes in Nepal have been contributing in tourism sector of Nepal.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Likewise, the number of traders and business persons from India and China has grown in Nepal, he further added.</p>

<p>The companies which have received LoI are Ajod Insurance Company, General Insurance Company Nepal and Sanima Insurance Company.</p>

<p>These companies had applied for LoI in April 2008, December 2007 and August 2008, respectively.</p>

<p>Despite receiving the application in April 2009, the IB is yet to approve the application of Manakamana Insurance Company.</p>

<p>According to Sambha Raj Lammichhane, an officer at the monitoring department of IB, the board has not approved the application of the company as it has failed to submit all the necessary documents.</p>

<p>The IB provides LoI to the companies only if they meet the capital requirement as per the criteria set by the board and if the promoters are not in the blacklist.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The three companies which have received LoI should follow all the criteria and construct the infrastructure within the next three months. If the companies fulfill all the criteria, then IB will inspect the insurers to give them permission to start business.</p>

<p>As per the rules, IB can approve the applications of non-life insurance companies, while life insurance companies should seek permission from the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to start business.</p>

<p>According to Mahesh Kafle, acting general manager of the industry, scraps are piled up in the junkyard as the industry is waiting for the government&rsquo;s permission for auction.</p>

<p>&ldquo;It is very hard to get materials for repairing the old equipment. Scraps worth Rs 40 million are in the junkyard of the industry,&rdquo; he informed.</p>

<p>There is very less information about how many vehicles were brought to Nepal from the help of Japanese government.&nbsp;</p>

<p>BCCI has been requesting Birgunj Customs Office, the local police and other authorities to solve the problem at the earliest. According to Madhav Rajpal, secretary at the BCCI, the cargo trucks are in huge number between Raxual yard of Indian Railways and the highway in Nepal. &ldquo;The cargo trucks carrying raw materials and other commodities are stuck in the Indian side,&rdquo; Rajpal said.</p>

<p>According to the traders, they are forced to pay huge amount fine as they have been unable to clear the goods on time.&nbsp; &ldquo;Domestic traders are hit hard by the obstruction in the vehicular moment. We have requested the concerned authorities to solve the problem at the earliest,&rdquo; President Sharma said.</p>

<p>There is a 35-kilometer long queue of cargo trucks in between Raxual to Sugauli. There are around 3,500 cargo trucks in the queue, which have been carrying different commodities to Nepal from India and from other countries via the Indian land.<a name="_GoBack"></a></p>
