<p>The award-winning airline has recently added many exciting sporting sponsorships to its extensive sponsorship portfolio. As part of a newly enhanced three-season deal with Formula E, announced in Doha in January this year, the airline will be the title sponsor of the Qatar Airways New York City E-Prix, taking place on July 14-15.</p>

<p>In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, the capital expenditure of the government was Rs 109 billion, which is 32.5 percent of the allocated budget.</p>

<p>In the corresponding period of the last fiscal year, the capital expenditure stood at Rs 75 billion. According to Dipendra Bahadur Chhetri, former deputy governor of NRB, very minimal capital expenditure and massive spending at the end of the fiscal year is a risk for the whole economy.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Foreign investors won&rsquo;t invest in Nepal unless return is assured,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p>The monetary policy of the country limits banks to invest only 5 percent of their total capital in the energy sector.</p>

<p>According Sailendra Guragain, chairman of <em>Independent Power Producers&#39; Association, Nepal</em> (<em>IPPAN</em>), works of several hydropower plants have been obstructed due to the insufficient funding. This obstruction is hampering the production of almost 400 megawatts of electrical energy.</p>

<p>There are lots of organizations working in the energy sector which have not received financing from banks and are also unable to attract foreign investors, said an expert.&nbsp; In such situation, the organizations are fearful that the shareholders might withdraw their capital.</p>

<p>Analyzing such scenario, entrepreneurs during the interaction program organized by Nepal Chamber of Commerce requested Energy Minister Barsha Man Pun to analyze the investment situation and amend the monetary policy to encourage banks to raise their investment up to 15 percent in the sector.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

This month, they came together to deliver training to 400 women entrepreneurs, according to a joint press statement issued by the organisations.</p>

<p style="margin-left:5.0pt">One of the four organisations, Unilever Nepal Limited (UNL), said it is continuing to invest to create women entrepreneurs through its &lsquo;Hamri Didi&rsquo; initiative aimed to empower underprivileged women as change agents within their communities by providing them with knowledge on health and sanitation and sustainable income generating opportunities.</p>

<p style="margin-left:5.0pt">Till date, 400 women in six districts in the Mid and Far Western Development Regions have been appointed as Hamri Didis, in partnership with RAP3 CONNECT.</p>

<p style="margin-left:5.0pt">Bottlers Nepal Limited (BNL) , the authorised bottler of the Coca-Cola Company, has joined the partnership to sell their products through this vibrant network of women micro-entrepreneurs. In addition, BNL has provided all 400 Hamri Didis with 5by20 training &ndash; the company&rsquo;s global commitment to enable the economic empowerment of 5 million women entrepreneurs across the company&#39;s value chain by 2020.</p>

<p style="margin-left:5.0pt">Rajnish Sharma, the country commercial manager of Bottlers Nepal says, &ldquo;We continue with our aim of providing hope and support to the female retailers in Nepal, that their businesses can be profitable, no matter the size. I am extremely pleased about our collaboration with IMC Worldwide, through which we have been able to support in building capability of 400 women from the &lsquo;Hamri Didi&rsquo; network, who&rsquo;s selling and merchandising skills have been enhanced to sell multiple products including ours. <p>In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, the capital expenditure of the government was Rs 109 billion, which is 32.5 percent of the allocated budget.</p>

<p>In the corresponding period of the last fiscal year, the capital expenditure stood at Rs 75 billion. According to Dipendra Bahadur Chhetri, former deputy governor of NRB, very minimal capital expenditure and massive spending at the end of the fiscal year is a risk for the whole economy.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Foreign investors won&rsquo;t invest in Nepal unless return is assured,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p>Entrepreneurs during a recent interaction organized by Nepal Chamber of Commerce made such claim and demanded the banks to increase their investment in the energy sector of Nepal.</p>

<p>The monetary policy of the country limits banks to invest only 5 percent of their total capital in the energy sector.</p>

<p>According Sailendra Guragain, chairman of <em>Independent Power Producers&#39; Association, Nepal</em> (<em>IPPAN</em>), works of several hydropower plants have been obstructed due to the insufficient funding. This obstruction is hampering the production of almost 400 megawatts of electrical energy.</p>

<p>There are lots of organizations working in the energy sector which have not received financing from banks and are also unable to attract foreign investors, said an expert.&nbsp; In such situation, the organizations are fearful that the shareholders might withdraw their capital.</p>

<p>Analyzing such scenario, entrepreneurs during the interaction program organized by Nepal Chamber of Commerce requested Energy Minister Barsha Man Pun to analyze the investment situation and amend the monetary policy to encourage banks to raise their investment up to 15 percent in the sector.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, the capital expenditure of the government was Rs 109 billion, which is 32.5 percent of the allocated budget.</p>

<p>In the corresponding period of the last fiscal year, the capital expenditure stood at Rs 75 billion. According to Dipendra Bahadur Chhetri, former deputy governor of NRB, very minimal capital expenditure and massive spending at the end of the fiscal year is a risk for the whole economy.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Foreign investors won&rsquo;t invest in Nepal unless return is assured,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p>The monetary policy of the country limits banks to invest only 5 percent of their total capital in the energy sector.</p>

<p>According Sailendra Guragain, chairman of <em>Independent Power Producers&#39; Association, Nepal</em> (<em>IPPAN</em>), works of several hydropower plants have been obstructed due to the insufficient funding. This obstruction is hampering the production of almost 400 megawatts of electrical energy.</p>

<p>There are lots of organizations working in the energy sector which have not received financing from banks and are also unable to attract foreign investors, said an expert.&nbsp; In such situation, the organizations are fearful that the shareholders might withdraw their capital.</p>

<p>Analyzing such scenario, entrepreneurs during the interaction program organized by Nepal Chamber of Commerce requested Energy Minister Barsha Man Pun to analyze the investment situation and amend the monetary policy to encourage banks to raise their investment up to 15 percent in the sector.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, the capital expenditure of the government was Rs 109 billion, which is 32.5 percent of the allocated budget.</p>

<p>In the corresponding period of the last fiscal year, the capital expenditure stood at Rs 75 billion. According to Dipendra Bahadur Chhetri, former deputy governor of NRB, very minimal capital expenditure and massive spending at the end of the fiscal year is a risk for the whole economy.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&ldquo;Foreign investors won&rsquo;t invest in Nepal unless return is assured,&rdquo; he said.</p>

This obstruction is hampering the production of almost 400 megawatts of electrical energy.</p>

<p>There are lots of organizations working in the energy sector which have not received financing from banks and are also unable to attract foreign investors, said an expert.&nbsp; In such situation, the organizations are fearful that the shareholders might withdraw their capital.</p>

<p>Analyzing such scenario, entrepreneurs during the interaction program organized by Nepal Chamber of Commerce requested Energy Minister Barsha Man Pun to analyze the investment situation and amend the monetary policy to encourage banks to raise their investment up to 15 percent in the sector.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sakchyam Access to Finance said in a statement that it signed an agreement in this regard with the banks amid a function in Kathmandu on May 17.</p>

<p>Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Dr Chiranjibi Nepal was the chief guest for the event which also saw the presence of Uttar Kumar Khatri, joint secretary at the Ministry of Finance (MoF), Chinta Mani Shiwakoti, deputy governor of NRB, Gyanendra Dhungana, president of Nepal Bankers&rsquo; Association (NBA), Baljit Vohra, team leader of Sakchyam along with other senior officials from MoF, NRB and Sakchyam. CEOs and senior officials of the 14 commercial banks were also present during the event.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A stakeholders&rsquo; discussion on &ldquo;Banking in the New Federal Structure: Challenges and Way Forward&rdquo; also took place during the event. &nbsp;</p>
