	A delegation consisting of Amnesty International Nepal&rsquo;s Chair Bikram Dhukuchhu and representatives from Community Self Rlinace Center (CSRC) and JuRI Nepal submitted AI&rsquo;s analysis paper to Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Chakra Pani Khanal at the latter&rsquo;s office in Singha Durbar on Friday in this regard.</p>
<p>
	In the analysis submitted to the government, Amnesty International has recommended amendment to the Right to Food and Food Sovereignty Act. It also suggested that the rules and regulations necessary to implement the provisions of the law need to be crafted soon.</p>
<p>
	AI said in a statement that hunger was one of the root causes of Nepal&rsquo;s decade-long internal conflict, and it continues to be felt across the country today. Nearly half of all households in Nepal face food insecurity, and a tenth are &ldquo;severely food insecure&rdquo;. More than a half of all children under five years of age are anaemic, while more than a third of them suffer from stunted growth, the statement added.</p>
<p>
	In an important step towards realizing its goal of &ldquo;zero hunger&rdquo; by 2025, the Nepal government brought the Right to Food and Food Sovereignty Act 2018 into force last September.</p>

	The festival, which kicked off on April 19 will end on May 4, serving different Punjabi cuisines such as Bhatti da Murg, Makki di Roti, Sarson da Saag, Kukkad Curry, Machali Amritsari, among other dishes. According to Samir Bahadur Chand, multi outlet manager at the hotel, there are very few restaurants serving Punjabi cuisines in the capital.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;So, we hope the festival will satisfy the customers&rsquo; hunger for Punjabi food.&rdquo;</p>
<p>
	A statement issued by the restaurant says that Punjabi cuisine has carved a niche for itself in the culinary realms of India.</p>
<p>
	There are options for both vegetarian and non-vegetarians in the festival. The ambience of the restaurant looks amazing, and the waiters are dressed up in Punjabi, giving a feeling that one is at a Punjabi restaurant in India.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;The cuisines offer a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary delights, all of which have a unique taste of their own. Staying true to tradition, every item will be prepared with hand-picked ingredients and with the utmost love, care and finesse,&rdquo; the statement added.</p>
<p>
	According to Tripurari Singh, director of food and beverage, the festival is not just about Punjabi food.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;The feeling you get inside the restaurant is amazing. The servers are dressed up in Punjabi, and Punjabi folk/instrumental music will be played as per the request from the customers,&rdquo; he said.</p>

	April 21: Nepal Telecom has decided not to pay its mobile service renewal charge of Rs 20 billion to the government immediately. The state-owned telecom company said so arguing that there is lack of clarity in legal provision regarding this issue.</p>
<p>
	A meeting of Nepal Telecommunication Authority on March 17 had decided to collect Rs 20 billion as renewal charge from Nepal Telecom.</p>
<p>
	Dilli Ram Adhikari, managing director of Nepal Telecom, told New Business Age that the state-owned telecom giant will not pay the charge unless there is clear legal provisions.</p>
<p>
	Nepal Telecom had acquired the license to start mobile service about two decades ago. At that time, the government had not determined the registration and renewal charge. Nepal Telecom had obtained the license under the condition that the company would pay the charges on par with other companies in the future. There is&nbsp; a legal provision of renewing the license in 10 years for the first time and then every five years after that.</p>
<p>
	Howeverm Adhikari argues that there isn&rsquo;t any clear policy that defines how much amount should be paid.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;We will pay the charge only when there is clear provision in the law,&rdquo; he added.</p>

	A delegation consisting of Amnesty International Nepal&rsquo;s Chair Bikram Dhukuchhu and representatives from Community Self Rlinace Center (CSRC) and JuRI Nepal submitted AI&rsquo;s analysis paper to Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Chakra Pani Khanal at the latter&rsquo;s office in Singha Durbar on Friday in this regard.</p>
<p>
	In the analysis submitted to the government, Amnesty International has recommended amendment to the Right to Food and Food Sovereignty Act. It also suggested that the rules and regulations necessary to implement the provisions of the law need to be crafted soon.</p>
<p>
	AI said in a statement that hunger was one of the root causes of Nepal&rsquo;s decade-long internal conflict, and it continues to be felt across the country today. Nearly half of all households in Nepal face food insecurity, and a tenth are &ldquo;severely food insecure&rdquo;. More than a half of all children under five years of age are anaemic, while more than a third of them suffer from stunted growth, the statement added.</p>
<p>
	In an important step towards realizing its goal of &ldquo;zero hunger&rdquo; by 2025, the Nepal government brought the Right to Food and Food Sovereignty Act 2018 into force last September.</p>

	The festival, which kicked off on April 19 will end on May 4, serving different Punjabi cuisines such as Bhatti da Murg, Makki di Roti, Sarson da Saag, Kukkad Curry, Machali Amritsari, among other dishes. According to Samir Bahadur Chand, multi outlet manager at the hotel, there are very few restaurants serving Punjabi cuisines in the capital.</p>

	&ldquo;So, we hope the festival will satisfy the customers&rsquo; hunger for Punjabi food.&rdquo;</p>

	A statement issued by the restaurant says that Punjabi cuisine has carved a niche for itself in the culinary realms of India.</p>

	There are options for both vegetarian and non-vegetarians in the festival. The ambience of the restaurant looks amazing, and the waiters are dressed up in Punjabi, giving a feeling that one is at a Punjabi restaurant in India.</p>

	According to Tripurari Singh, director of food and beverage, the festival is not just about Punjabi food.</p>

	A meeting of Nepal Telecommunication Authority on March 17 had decided to collect Rs 20 billion as renewal charge from Nepal Telecom.</p>
<p>
	Dilli Ram Adhikari, managing director of Nepal Telecom, told New Business Age that the state-owned telecom giant will not pay the charge unless there is clear legal provisions.</p>
<p>
	Nepal Telecom had acquired the license to start mobile service about two decades ago. At that time, the government had not determined the registration and renewal charge. Nepal Telecom had obtained the license under the condition that the company would pay the charges on par with other companies in the future. There is&nbsp; a legal provision of renewing the license in 10 years for the first time and then every five years after that.</p>
<p>
	Howeverm Adhikari argues that there isn&rsquo;t any clear policy that defines how much amount should be paid.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;We will pay the charge only when there is clear provision in the law,&rdquo; he added.</p>

	A delegation consisting of Amnesty International Nepal&rsquo;s Chair Bikram Dhukuchhu and representatives from Community Self Rlinace Center (CSRC) and JuRI Nepal submitted AI&rsquo;s analysis paper to Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Chakra Pani Khanal at the latter&rsquo;s office in Singha Durbar on Friday in this regard.</p>
<p>
	In the analysis submitted to the government, Amnesty International has recommended amendment to the Right to Food and Food Sovereignty Act. It also suggested that the rules and regulations necessary to implement the provisions of the law need to be crafted soon.</p>
<p>
	AI said in a statement that hunger was one of the root causes of Nepal&rsquo;s decade-long internal conflict, and it continues to be felt across the country today. Nearly half of all households in Nepal face food insecurity, and a tenth are &ldquo;severely food insecure&rdquo;. More than a half of all children under five years of age are anaemic, while more than a third of them suffer from stunted growth, the statement added.</p>
<p>
	In an important step towards realizing its goal of &ldquo;zero hunger&rdquo; by 2025, the Nepal government brought the Right to Food and Food Sovereignty Act 2018 into force last September.</p>

According to Samir Bahadur Chand, multi outlet manager at the hotel, there are very few restaurants serving Punjabi cuisines in the capital.</p>

	A meeting of Nepal Telecommunication Authority on March 17 had decided to collect Rs 20 billion as renewal charge from Nepal Telecom.</p>

	Dilli Ram Adhikari, managing director of Nepal Telecom, told New Business Age that the state-owned telecom giant will not pay the charge unless there is clear legal provisions.</p>
<p>
	Nepal Telecom had acquired the license to start mobile service about two decades ago. At that time, the government had not determined the registration and renewal charge. Nepal Telecom had obtained the license under the condition that the company would pay the charges on par with other companies in the future. There is&nbsp; a legal provision of renewing the license in 10 years for the first time and then every five years after that.</p>
<p>
	Howeverm Adhikari argues that there isn&rsquo;t any clear policy that defines how much amount should be paid.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;We will pay the charge only when there is clear provision in the law,&rdquo; he added.</p>

	Poudel said that they are planning to complete the airport six months ahead of the schedule as per the request of the government.</p>

	The festival, which kicked off on April 19 will end on May 4, serving different Punjabi cuisines such as Bhatti da Murg, Makki di Roti, Sarson da Saag, Kukkad Curry, Machali Amritsari, among other dishes. According to Samir Bahadur Chand, multi outlet manager at the hotel, there are very few restaurants serving Punjabi cuisines in the capital.</p>

	&ldquo;So, we hope the festival will satisfy the customers&rsquo; hunger for Punjabi food.&rdquo;</p>
<p>
	A statement issued by the restaurant says that Punjabi cuisine has carved a niche for itself in the culinary realms of India.</p>
<p>
	There are options for both vegetarian and non-vegetarians in the festival. The ambience of the restaurant looks amazing, and the waiters are dressed up in Punjabi, giving a feeling that one is at a Punjabi restaurant in India.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;The cuisines offer a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary delights, all of which have a unique taste of their own. Staying true to tradition, every item will be prepared with hand-picked ingredients and with the utmost love, care and finesse,&rdquo; the statement added.</p>
<p>
	According to Tripurari Singh, director of food and beverage, the festival is not just about Punjabi food.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;The feeling you get inside the restaurant is amazing. The servers are dressed up in Punjabi, and Punjabi folk/instrumental music will be played as per the request from the customers,&rdquo; he said.</p>

	April 21: Nepal Telecom has decided not to pay its mobile service renewal charge of Rs 20 billion to the government immediately. The state-owned telecom company said so arguing that there is lack of clarity in legal provision regarding this issue.</p>
<p>
	A meeting of Nepal Telecommunication Authority on March 17 had decided to collect Rs 20 billion as renewal charge from Nepal Telecom.</p>
<p>
	Dilli Ram Adhikari, managing director of Nepal Telecom, told New Business Age that the state-owned telecom giant will not pay the charge unless there is clear legal provisions.</p>
<p>
	Nepal Telecom had acquired the license to start mobile service about two decades ago. At that time, the government had not determined the registration and renewal charge. Nepal Telecom had obtained the license under the condition that the company would pay the charges on par with other companies in the future. There is&nbsp; a legal provision of renewing the license in 10 years for the first time and then every five years after that.</p>
<p>
	Howeverm Adhikari argues that there isn&rsquo;t any clear policy that defines how much amount should be paid.</p>
<p>
	&ldquo;We will pay the charge only when there is clear provision in the law,&rdquo; he added.</p>

	The government is planning to announce programmes in the upcoming budget after a review of the first year of implementation of fiscal federalism, according to Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada&rsquo;s advisor Dr Ram Sharan Kharel.</p>

	A high ranking official at the finance ministry told New Business Age that the government will not announce any populist programme this time as such programmes announced without proper management of source had cost a heavy burden to the state coffers.</p>

	CIAA issued a public notice on Thursday, April 18, asking the representatives of the international companies to be present at its office to record their statement within seven days.</p>

	The Public Accounts Committee has alleged that there has been corruption of over Rs 4 billion in the procurement process of the two wide-body aircraft for the state-run airlines.</p>
<p>
	Nepal Airlines Corporation had signed a deal with the AAR Crop of America for the procurement of two Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft. &nbsp;But allegation of corruption came to the fore soon after AAR in a statement mentioned about the involvement of other partnering companies for the delivery of the wide-body aircraft to NAC.</p>

	Acting chief of the project Krishna Prasad Poudel confirmed that the runway has been completed.</p>

	The runway which is 2500 meters long is different from other runways and has set a new precedent. Although other runways are blacktopped, this runway is made of concrete materials for the first time in Nepal&rsquo;s history.</p>
<p>
	Poudel said that they are planning to complete the airport six months ahead of the schedule as per the request of the government.</p>

	According to Indra Thapa, a local farmer of Marek, the hailstones damaged all his winter crops as well as fruits and vegetables. Thapa claimed that his village alone had to bear losses of more than Rs 600,000.</p>

	Farmers say that the calamity struck when they were about to harvest wheat, which was already ripe. Meanwhile, the hailstones tore apart saplings of maize, according to the farmers.</p>
