Gurkha Development Bank and Kathmandu Finance merged to form Gurkhas Finance. After the merger, the bank has Rs 578.6 million in paid-up capital, Rs 2.25 billion in deposits and Rs 2.39 billion in loans.</p>

<p>The finance has main branch in Charkhal, Kathmandu and other nine branches across the country. With its central office in Dillibazar, the finance is planning to open three branches in across the country including the Kathmandu valley soon. The Finance has also started the ATM service and mobile banking. &ldquo;Gurkhas Finance will also provide the internet banking in the coming days,&rdquo; said the company in a press statement.</p>

<p><strong><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">Divergence between banks and businessmen regarding consortium loan:</span></strong><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt"> Bankers and businessmen have diverged on NRB directive of converting multi-banking loans of certain amount to consortium loans within the end of current FY. Earlier, NRB has mandatorily directed the banks to convert multi-banking loans of Rs 500 million and above to consortium loans within the end of current FY. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">&ldquo;The amount of Rs 500 million is too low for current circumstances, it should be raised,&rdquo; said Hari Bhakta Sharma, Chairman of CNI. He added that if the limit is not raised then more problems will arise in productive sector&rsquo;s loans. Shanker Prasad Pandey, Chairman of FNCCI-banks, finance and insurance committee, also shared the same views. They have been proclaiming that NRB directive will increase their cost by 2 percent. According to them, the banks will charge the highest interest rate on such consortium loan resulting increase in cost of production, earlier where, the banks used to charge different different interest rate. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">Meanwhile, the banks argue that the limit should be decreased. &ldquo;I would say that the limit should further decrease. Businessmen demand Rs 500 million loans for Rs 250 million requirement which invites multiplier risk in the banking sector,&rdquo; said Sashin Joshi, former Chairman of Nepal Banker Association. He argues that one bank should manage such loans taking leadership. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">NRB is initiating various policies to control multi-banking loans after disclosure of the banking practice where big commercial houses have taken loan of Rs 1-3 billion under multi-banking loans. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">In the mean time, businessmen have warned of degrading commercial environment because of the mechanism of submitting the same financial report to the banks to get the loan and to the government to pay tax. According to Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, General Secretary of Nepal Chamber of Commerce, financial report submitted to tax department and the banks do not fit in together as the financial report submitted to bank for getting loans also includes projection of future progress. However the government formulated the new policy to control the practice of businessmen of submitting financial reports showcasing losses while paying tax whereas they submit financial reports showing profits to get the loans.&nbsp;</span></p>

And we believe it will be an even bigger success than the past four editions and reach new heights.&rdquo; The total prize purse has been increased this year to NRs. 520 thousand across seven categories.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The main sponsors of the Nepal Photo Contest are IME and Global IME Bank. The event is promoted by Nepal Tourism Board and supported by Model Global Visa Consultancy. The seven categories for competition this year are Ghumphir Culture and Tourism, Nepal Telecomm Wildlife and Nature, IMS Daily Life, Arghakhachi Cements News Photo, Shikhar Insurance Nepal Smiles, Model Global Visa Consultancy Sports and Photo Story,&rdquo; reads the press release.</p>

<p>According to the organizers, there will be three winners in each category and the best photo will be announced the IME Global IME Bank Photo of Year. The Photo of the Year winner will pocket Rs. 100,000. In each category, the winner receives Rs. 30,000 while the first and second runners-up receive Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively.</p>

<p>Similarly, the participants can submit their photographs and also learn about the rules of the competition on the club&#39;s website, http://www.pjclub.com.np. It has been informed that photos for the competition should be submitted by 12 midnight on Ashadh 31, 2073. Only photographs taken in Nepal and by Nepali citizens can be submitted. The best 150 photographs from the competition will be exhibited for five days in Kathmandu and will also be exhibited in four major cities of Nepal &ndash; Biratnagar, Pokhara, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;The company is making the work process to bring uniformity in the issuance of new shares. &nbsp;However, the share transaction has been resumed as the work process requires more time,&rdquo; says SEBON in a press statement. The regulator has confirmed that it has received prospectus about the share issuance from the company.&nbsp; If the board is not satisfied with premium rate in the prospectus, the company will have to justify the rates of the shares. Earlier, the company announced to sell 3.09 million units of shares at &nbsp;Rs 2,951 per unit through NEPSE on the last week of Jestha.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">SEBON asked NEPSE to stop the share trading of NLIC stating that company had maintained the highest premium rate till date in order to manipulate prices in the secondary market and fixed the rate without any basis. SEBON has maintained that the action was necessary as the company announced the information without presenting prospectus in the board and ignoring the sensitivity of share prices.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The board has also directed NEPSE to announce FPO as per the Securities Act, Securities Registration and Issuance Regulation.</p>

<p><strong><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">Divergence between banks and businessmen regarding consortium loan:</span></strong><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt"> Bankers and businessmen have diverged on NRB directive of converting multi-banking loans of certain amount to consortium loans within the end of current FY. Earlier, NRB has mandatorily directed the banks to convert multi-banking loans of Rs 500 million and above to consortium loans within the end of current FY. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">&ldquo;The amount of Rs 500 million is too low for current circumstances, it should be raised,&rdquo; said Hari Bhakta Sharma, Chairman of CNI. He added that if the limit is not raised then more problems will arise in productive sector&rsquo;s loans. Shanker Prasad Pandey, Chairman of FNCCI-banks, finance and insurance committee, also shared the same views. They have been proclaiming that NRB directive will increase their cost by 2 percent. According to them, the banks will charge the highest interest rate on such consortium loan resulting increase in cost of production, earlier where, the banks used to charge different different interest rate. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">Meanwhile, the banks argue that the limit should be decreased. &ldquo;I would say that the limit should further decrease. Businessmen demand Rs 500 million loans for Rs 250 million requirement which invites multiplier risk in the banking sector,&rdquo; said Sashin Joshi, former Chairman of Nepal Banker Association. He argues that one bank should manage such loans taking leadership. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">NRB is initiating various policies to control multi-banking loans after disclosure of the banking practice where big commercial houses have taken loan of Rs 1-3 billion under multi-banking loans. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">In the mean time, businessmen have warned of degrading commercial environment because of the mechanism of submitting the same financial report to the banks to get the loan and to the government to pay tax. According to Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, General Secretary of Nepal Chamber of Commerce, financial report submitted to tax department and the banks do not fit in together as the financial report submitted to bank for getting loans also includes projection of future progress. However the government formulated the new policy to control the practice of businessmen of submitting financial reports showcasing losses while paying tax whereas they submit financial reports showing profits to get the loans.&nbsp;</span></p>

The seven categories for competition this year are Ghumphir Culture and Tourism, Nepal Telecomm Wildlife and Nature, IMS Daily Life, Arghakhachi Cements News Photo, Shikhar Insurance Nepal Smiles, Model Global Visa Consultancy Sports and Photo Story,&rdquo; reads the press release.</p>

<p>According to the organizers, there will be three winners in each category and the best photo will be announced the IME Global IME Bank Photo of Year. The Photo of the Year winner will pocket Rs. 100,000. In each category, the winner receives Rs. 30,000 while the first and second runners-up receive Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively.</p>

<p>Similarly, the participants can submit their photographs and also learn about the rules of the competition on the club&#39;s website, http://www.pjclub.com.np. It has been informed that photos for the competition should be submitted by 12 midnight on Ashadh 31, 2073. Only photographs taken in Nepal and by Nepali citizens can be submitted. The best 150 photographs from the competition will be exhibited for five days in Kathmandu and will also be exhibited in four major cities of Nepal &ndash; Biratnagar, Pokhara, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi.</p>

The regulator has confirmed that it has received prospectus about the share issuance from the company.&nbsp; If the board is not satisfied with premium rate in the prospectus, the company will have to justify the rates of the shares. Earlier, the company announced to sell 3.09 million units of shares at &nbsp;Rs 2,951 per unit through NEPSE on the last week of Jestha.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">SEBON asked NEPSE to stop the share trading of NLIC stating that company had maintained the highest premium rate till date in order to manipulate prices in the secondary market and fixed the rate without any basis. SEBON has maintained that the action was necessary as the company announced the information without presenting prospectus in the board and ignoring the sensitivity of share prices.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The board has also directed NEPSE to announce FPO as per the Securities Act, Securities Registration and Issuance Regulation.</p>

Earlier, NRB has mandatorily directed the banks to convert multi-banking loans of Rs 500 million and above to consortium loans within the end of current FY. </span></p>

He added that if the limit is not raised then more problems will arise in productive sector&rsquo;s loans. Shanker Prasad Pandey, Chairman of FNCCI-banks, finance and insurance committee, also shared the same views. They have been proclaiming that NRB directive will increase their cost by 2 percent. According to them, the banks will charge the highest interest rate on such consortium loan resulting increase in cost of production, earlier where, the banks used to charge different different interest rate. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">Meanwhile, the banks argue that the limit should be decreased. &ldquo;I would say that the limit should further decrease. Businessmen demand Rs 500 million loans for Rs 250 million requirement which invites multiplier risk in the banking sector,&rdquo; said Sashin Joshi, former Chairman of Nepal Banker Association. He argues that one bank should manage such loans taking leadership. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">NRB is initiating various policies to control multi-banking loans after disclosure of the banking practice where big commercial houses have taken loan of Rs 1-3 billion under multi-banking loans. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">In the mean time, businessmen have warned of degrading commercial environment because of the mechanism of submitting the same financial report to the banks to get the loan and to the government to pay tax. According to Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, General Secretary of Nepal Chamber of Commerce, financial report submitted to tax department and the banks do not fit in together as the financial report submitted to bank for getting loans also includes projection of future progress. However the government formulated the new policy to control the practice of businessmen of submitting financial reports showcasing losses while paying tax whereas they submit financial reports showing profits to get the loans.&nbsp;</span></p>

The regulator has confirmed that it has received prospectus about the share issuance from the company.&nbsp; If the board is not satisfied with premium rate in the prospectus, the company will have to justify the rates of the shares. Earlier, the company announced to sell 3.09 million units of shares at &nbsp;Rs 2,951 per unit through NEPSE on the last week of Jestha.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">SEBON asked NEPSE to stop the share trading of NLIC stating that company had maintained the highest premium rate till date in order to manipulate prices in the secondary market and fixed the rate without any basis. SEBON has maintained that the action was necessary as the company announced the information without presenting prospectus in the board and ignoring the sensitivity of share prices.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The board has also directed NEPSE to announce FPO as per the Securities Act, Securities Registration and Issuance Regulation.</p>

<p><strong><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">Divergence between banks and businessmen regarding consortium loan:</span></strong><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt"> Bankers and businessmen have diverged on NRB directive of converting multi-banking loans of certain amount to consortium loans within the end of current FY. Earlier, NRB has mandatorily directed the banks to convert multi-banking loans of Rs 500 million and above to consortium loans within the end of current FY. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">&ldquo;The amount of Rs 500 million is too low for current circumstances, it should be raised,&rdquo; said Hari Bhakta Sharma, Chairman of CNI. He added that if the limit is not raised then more problems will arise in productive sector&rsquo;s loans. Shanker Prasad Pandey, Chairman of FNCCI-banks, finance and insurance committee, also shared the same views. They have been proclaiming that NRB directive will increase their cost by 2 percent. According to them, the banks will charge the highest interest rate on such consortium loan resulting increase in cost of production, earlier where, the banks used to charge different different interest rate. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">Meanwhile, the banks argue that the limit should be decreased. &ldquo;I would say that the limit should further decrease. Businessmen demand Rs 500 million loans for Rs 250 million requirement which invites multiplier risk in the banking sector,&rdquo; said Sashin Joshi, former Chairman of Nepal Banker Association. He argues that one bank should manage such loans taking leadership. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">NRB is initiating various policies to control multi-banking loans after disclosure of the banking practice where big commercial houses have taken loan of Rs 1-3 billion under multi-banking loans. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-family:helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:12.5pt">In the mean time, businessmen have warned of degrading commercial environment because of the mechanism of submitting the same financial report to the banks to get the loan and to the government to pay tax. According to Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, General Secretary of Nepal Chamber of Commerce, financial report submitted to tax department and the banks do not fit in together as the financial report submitted to bank for getting loans also includes projection of future progress. However the government formulated the new policy to control the practice of businessmen of submitting financial reports showcasing losses while paying tax whereas they submit financial reports showing profits to get the loans.&nbsp;</span></p>

The regulator has confirmed that it has received prospectus about the share issuance from the company.&nbsp; If the board is not satisfied with premium rate in the prospectus, the company will have to justify the rates of the shares. Earlier, the company announced to sell 3.09 million units of shares at &nbsp;Rs 2,951 per unit through NEPSE on the last week of Jestha.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">SEBON asked NEPSE to stop the share trading of NLIC stating that company had maintained the highest premium rate till date in order to manipulate prices in the secondary market and fixed the rate without any basis. SEBON has maintained that the action was necessary as the company announced the information without presenting prospectus in the board and ignoring the sensitivity of share prices.</p>

<p>In the tournament, Saraswati Chaudhary was announced Best Player of the tournament. Similarly, Prativa Mali of New Diamond was named Best Spiker while Nebica Chaudhary and Binita Budhathoki bragged the title of Best Server and Best Setter respectively. Meanwhile, Usha Bista was named Best Blocker and Kamala Pun of Nepal Police Club was awarded with Best Defender. Likewise, New Diamond won the third place by defeating Paschimanchal.</p>

<p>Kedia Group&rsquo;s Yeti Flooring as the title sponsor contributed Rs 500,000 and IME Remit contributed Rs 200,000 as co-sponsor in the tournament.</p>
