<p style="text-align: justify;">Petroleum products were the largest imported item during the last FY. The Custom Department informed that a total of Rs 84.38 million has been spent on petroleum products during the last FY. It was Rs 126.50 billion during the previous FY. Decrease in import of petroleum product during the last FY has been attributed to the six months long border blockade.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the top imported commodities during the last FY were iron and steel, transportation and related spare parts and electronic tools and parts. Likewise, sound recorders and reproducers, television, nuclear reactor, machinery and mechanical goods, pharmaceuticals products, valuable stones and animal and vegetable ghee, oil were also among the top imported commodities during the last FY.&nbsp;</p>

UTL has delayed the royalty payment of fourth installment amounting Rs 204.1 million that UTL had to pay by the end of last FY. &ldquo;UTL has not paid the outstanding royalty though it&rsquo;s almost one month since the deadline,&rdquo; says Min Prasad Aryal, Spokesperson of NTA. &nbsp;&ldquo;UTL has requested three months grace period citing the earthquake and border blockade,&rdquo; he said, adding &ldquo;NTA has not made any decision on the matter yet.&rdquo; The telecommunication company is yet to pay Rs 1.21 billion royalty within next four years.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to NTA, this is not the first time UTL has delayed the payment of outstanding royalty. The company has been delaying the royalty payment continuously since the past few years. UTL had also paid the third and second installment late. &ldquo;NTA has been repeatedly informing the company for the payment of royalty,&rdquo; said Purushottam Khanal, Director of NTA. &ldquo;There are no rules to fine any company for the delay in royalty payment, he said, adding that in such circumstances, no immediate action could be taken.&rdquo;</p>

UTL has delayed the royalty payment of fourth installment amounting Rs 204.1 million that UTL had to pay by the end of last FY. &ldquo;UTL has not paid the outstanding royalty though it&rsquo;s almost one month since the deadline,&rdquo; says Min Prasad Aryal, Spokesperson of NTA. &nbsp;&ldquo;UTL has requested three months grace period citing the earthquake and border blockade,&rdquo; he said, adding &ldquo;NTA has not made any decision on the matter yet.&rdquo; The telecommunication company is yet to pay Rs 1.21 billion royalty within next four years.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to NTA, this is not the first time UTL has delayed the payment of outstanding royalty. The company has been delaying the royalty payment continuously since the past few years. UTL had also paid the third and second installment late. &ldquo;NTA has been repeatedly informing the company for the payment of royalty,&rdquo; said Purushottam Khanal, Director of NTA. &ldquo;There are no rules to fine any company for the delay in royalty payment, he said, adding that in such circumstances, no immediate action could be taken.&rdquo;</p>

UTL has delayed the royalty payment of fourth installment amounting Rs 204.1 million that UTL had to pay by the end of last FY. &ldquo;UTL has not paid the outstanding royalty though it&rsquo;s almost one month since the deadline,&rdquo; says Min Prasad Aryal, Spokesperson of NTA. &nbsp;&ldquo;UTL has requested three months grace period citing the earthquake and border blockade,&rdquo; he said, adding &ldquo;NTA has not made any decision on the matter yet.&rdquo; The telecommunication company is yet to pay Rs 1.21 billion royalty within next four years.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to NTA, this is not the first time UTL has delayed the payment of outstanding royalty. The company has been delaying the royalty payment continuously since the past few years. UTL had also paid the third and second installment late. &ldquo;NTA has been repeatedly informing the company for the payment of royalty,&rdquo; said Purushottam Khanal, Director of NTA. &ldquo;There are no rules to fine any company for the delay in royalty payment, he said, adding that in such circumstances, no immediate action could be taken.&rdquo;</p>

The Custom Department informed that a total of Rs 84.38 million has been spent on petroleum products during the last FY. It was Rs 126.50 billion during the previous FY. Decrease in import of petroleum product during the last FY has been attributed to the six months long border blockade.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the top imported commodities during the last FY were iron and steel, transportation and related spare parts and electronic tools and parts. Likewise, sound recorders and reproducers, television, nuclear reactor, machinery and mechanical goods, pharmaceuticals products, valuable stones and animal and vegetable ghee, oil were also among the top imported commodities during the last FY.&nbsp;</p>

The program was organised with an aim to discuss about the policy hassels, practice and level of implementation related to economic&nbsp;development with government agencies and find out the solutions to address these problems. Maha Prasad Adhikari, Chief Executive Office of Investment Board was participated as a guest in the third series of CNI discussion.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Speaking at the program, Hari Bhakta Sharma, President of CNI explained that the real journey of economical development doesn&rsquo;t start until the investment in infrastructure is increased. He also urged the board to cooperate in infrastructure conference that is going to be organised by CNI on December. President Sharma, on the occasion said that though foreign investment is necessary for the economical development, satisfying amount of foreign investment is lacking till date. So he urged investment board to make an effort to find out the reasons behind lack of satisfying amount of foreign investment.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Addressing the question raised in the discussion, Chief Executive Officer of Investment Board Maha Prasad Adhikari informed that the Board in order to attract investment in infrastructure will establishing project bank&nbsp; to search the investors. Adhikari informed that the board is making an action plan to promote the investment in the prioritize &nbsp;sectors including &nbsp;agriculture, highway, hydropower project, large industry, health, tourism, mineral exploration, the airport and the information technology.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">CNI officials, members of governing council, members of national council along with industrialist were participated in the discussion that was concluded in a chairmanship of CNI President Sharma. According to the entrepreneurs participating in the discussion the working area of the board should be broaden, not only foreign investment but local investment should also be facilitated and the status of projects in operation should also be updated.</p>

The agreement was signed by AK Ahluwalia, CEO of Everest Bank and Baljit Vohra, Team Leader of UKaid Sakchyam Access to Finance amid a program in the capital on August 4.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;With this agreement, EBL will reach out to the unbanked section of the society to introduce the banking habit through branchless banking,&rdquo; said the bank in a press statement. According to the bank, the project will also help to fulfill the financial needs of individuals, agriculture cooperatives, micro SMEs as well as awareness through Financial Literacy Programme.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the bank, the facility will cover 27 districts of Far, Mid and Western regions of the country. &ldquo;We have also introduced tablet banking as mode of branchless banking <em>(</em>BLB<em>)</em> and expanded deprived sector lending and agriculture loan through the SEBA Project,&rdquo; said CEO Ahluwalia at the program.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;Sakchyam and NRB have a working relationship and we are pleased to be working together on a number of initiatives. I am happy to hear of Sakchyam and its work with BFIs such as Everest Bank towards its goals of financial inclusion, which are in fact also a priority for the NRB,&rdquo; said Shiba Raj Shrestha, Deputy Governor of NRB.</p>

UTL has delayed the royalty payment of fourth installment amounting Rs 204.1 million that UTL had to pay by the end of last FY. &ldquo;UTL has not paid the outstanding royalty though it&rsquo;s almost one month since the deadline,&rdquo; says Min Prasad Aryal, Spokesperson of NTA. &nbsp;&ldquo;UTL has requested three months grace period citing the earthquake and border blockade,&rdquo; he said, adding &ldquo;NTA has not made any decision on the matter yet.&rdquo; The telecommunication company is yet to pay Rs 1.21 billion royalty within next four years.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to NTA, this is not the first time UTL has delayed the payment of outstanding royalty. The company has been delaying the royalty payment continuously since the past few years. UTL had also paid the third and second installment late. &ldquo;NTA has been repeatedly informing the company for the payment of royalty,&rdquo; said Purushottam Khanal, Director of NTA. &ldquo;There are no rules to fine any company for the delay in royalty payment, he said, adding that in such circumstances, no immediate action could be taken.&rdquo;</p>
