	Jayanti Memorial Trust (JMT), a non-profit organization working for the aid of underprivileged people suffering from cardiac ailments, organized &lsquo;Egyptian Night&rsquo; on February 14 at Hotel Annapurna. The event was organized as a part of its annual Valentine&rsquo;s Day fundraising event &lsquo;From One Heart to Another&rsquo;. The programme was organized in collaboration with Hotel Annapurna and Qatar Airways.&nbsp;</div>

	Moustafa Gendy, Egyptian ambassador to Nepal was the chief guest of the event which was attended by numerous distinguished personalities. The programme featured a presentation highlighting the works of JMT. According to Agya Khand, Manager at JMT, Qatar Airways made a donation of Rs 250,000, and Everest Bank and Varun Beverages each donated a hundred thousand rupees to the trust as part of their CSR. Besides this, there were numerous individual donations from the attendees of the event.&nbsp;</div>

After three years of construction process, the Hotel came into operation from the first week of January. According to Laxmi Ghising, Executive Director of the Hotel, Shambala is a contemporary Tibetan themed boutique hotel. &ldquo;Hotel Shambala is a modern hotel with a traditional touch, offering luxurious amenities,&rdquo; said Ghising.&nbsp;</div>

	The entire hotel is built around the theme of Tibetan art, and has its elements everywhere. 	Tara Air successfully conducted a test flight to Taplejung on 20th January by a German built Dornier Do-228 Aircraft. The flight took off from Kathmandu Airport at around 09:50 am and landed successfully at Taplejung Airport. Representatives of Civil Aviation Authority (CAAN) of Nepal led the panel of guests to board the flight. The duration of the Flight was 45 minutes. According to the airline, the report of the test flight will now be reported to CAAN and after receiving the green signal from them, the scheduled flights will commence. &ldquo;We will be doing one flight a week to Taplejung to start with,&rdquo; said Saral SJB Rana, Deputy Director of Sales and Marketing at Tara Air.&nbsp;</div>

	Tourist arrivals to Nepal by air have decreased in the month of December as well. The figures released by the Immigration Office, Tribhuvan International Airport reveal that visitor arrivals in December decreased by 4.9 per cent, compared to the same month last year. The decrease was 7.01 per cent for November. A total of 42,601 international visitors arrived in Nepal in the month of December 2013 which is less by 2,173 tourists in December 2012. In December 2012, a total of 44,774 tourists entered Nepal by air.</div>

	According to a statement from Nepal Tourism Bard (NTB), the SAARC Market has shown a positive growth of 1.6 per cent with a total of 13,521 international visitors, who visited Nepal in December 2013 as compared to the total arrival figures 13,302 in December, 2012. The increment in SAARC region is basically observed in Bangladesh by 40.3 per cent and Sri Lanka by 49.4 per cent as compared to the figures of the same month of 2012. The negative growth has been recorded in India market by 1.0 per cent and Pakistan by 67.2 per cent in the figures of December, 2012.&nbsp;</div>

The decrease was 7.01 per cent for November. A total of 42,601 international visitors arrived in Nepal in the month of December 2013 which is less by 2,173 tourists in December 2012. In December 2012, a total of 44,774 tourists entered Nepal by air.</div>

The increment in SAARC region is basically observed in Bangladesh by 40.3 per cent and Sri Lanka by 49.4 per cent as compared to the figures of the same month of 2012. 	Tara Air successfully conducted a test flight to Taplejung on 20th January by a German built Dornier Do-228 Aircraft. The flight took off from Kathmandu Airport at around 09:50 am and landed successfully at Taplejung Airport. Representatives of Civil Aviation Authority (CAAN) of Nepal led the panel of guests to board the flight. The duration of the Flight was 45 minutes. According to the airline, the report of the test flight will now be reported to CAAN and after receiving the green signal from them, the scheduled flights will commence. &ldquo;We will be doing one flight a week to Taplejung to start with,&rdquo; said Saral SJB Rana, Deputy Director of Sales and Marketing at Tara Air.&nbsp;</div>

The figures released by the Immigration Office, Tribhuvan International Airport reveal that visitor arrivals in December decreased by 4.9 per cent, compared to the same month last year. The decrease was 7.01 per cent for November. A total of 42,601 international visitors arrived in Nepal in the month of December 2013 which is less by 2,173 tourists in December 2012. In December 2012, a total of 44,774 tourists entered Nepal by air.</div>

	According to a statement from Nepal Tourism Bard (NTB), the SAARC Market has shown a positive growth of 1.6 per cent with a total of 13,521 international visitors, who visited Nepal in December 2013 as compared to the total arrival figures 13,302 in December, 2012. The increment in SAARC region is basically observed in Bangladesh by 40.3 per cent and Sri Lanka by 49.4 per cent as compared to the figures of the same month of 2012. The negative growth has been recorded in India market by 1.0 per cent and Pakistan by 67.2 per cent in the figures of December, 2012.&nbsp;</div>

	Tourist arrivals to Nepal by air have decreased in the month of December as well. The figures released by the Immigration Office, Tribhuvan International Airport reveal that visitor arrivals in December decreased by 4.9 per cent, compared to the same month last year. The decrease was 7.01 per cent for November. A total of 42,601 international visitors arrived in Nepal in the month of December 2013 which is less by 2,173 tourists in December 2012. In December 2012, a total of 44,774 tourists entered Nepal by air.</div>

	According to a statement from Nepal Tourism Bard (NTB), the SAARC Market has shown a positive growth of 1.6 per cent with a total of 13,521 international visitors, who visited Nepal in December 2013 as compared to the total arrival figures 13,302 in December, 2012. The increment in SAARC region is basically observed in Bangladesh by 40.3 per cent and Sri Lanka by 49.4 per cent as compared to the figures of the same month of 2012. The negative growth has been recorded in India market by 1.0 per cent and Pakistan by 67.2 per cent in the figures of December, 2012.&nbsp;</div>

	Even though the Asia segment other than SAARC has shown a negative growth by 3.1 per cent in total, still some positive indicators of growth have been observed in Malaysia by 10 per cent, Chinese Taipei by 3.2 per cent and Thailand by 3.3 per cent with a significant decrease on Chinese arrivals by 9.3 per cent compared to the figures of December, 2012.&nbsp;</div>
