Arun Raj Sumargi is one of the most successful industrialists Nepal. Despite his busy schedules, he has managed his personal and professional lives in harmony. As a person who is the Managing Director of Hetauda Lime Industry, it is conceivable that he must busy around the clock with his profession. But the reality is contrary. Sumargi is family person.

Elaborating on how he manages his personal and professional responsibilities, he says, “I take my family and my office side by side.” Well that explains a lot.

Besides being a family man, Sumargi says he likes to be addressed as an ‘entrepreneur’ who has love for all his fellow human beings especially the underprivileged and marginalized. Sharing his love for social service and his ultimate goal of contributing to the creation of a better society, he says “I often spend my leisure time thinking of those people who are underprivileged and marginalised and how could I contribute for uplifting their existing conditions”.

In his spare time, Sumargi loves travelling to different places across the country and loves to have his family along with him in this occasional travels. He is in love with Nepal’s natural beauty and diversified culture. He believes that Nepal if explored and managed properly could be much famous than any other foreign country. “Nepal is literally the heaven on earth”, he says. Mustang and Ghodepani are two destinations that are too close to his heart. He is a traveller with a philosophy that focuses on understanding human conditions. He believes that “travelling to a place is equal to reading 10 books.”

However that does not means he does not read. He is an avid reader and his collections of readings mostly consist of non-fiction. Vaastu and literature are his areas of interest when it comes to buying books. He however does not believe in sticking to a particular genre and has a well founded reason behind it. “If I stick into one genre, I am likely to become stereotype”, he opines, “I read all sort of books such as those related to economy, religion, social and philosophy.” He says that he doesn’t have anything like ‘favourite’ but he especially likes to read biographies of world renowned figures. And most importantly he loves reading books from Nepali authors. He says that he doesn’t miss reading books by new Nepali authors.

That’s not all. This amazing entrepreneur has all the love for sports that include badminton, lawn tennis and cricket. He is the President of Cricket Association, Makwanpur chapter.

Sumargi wishes he would be glad if he did not have entangled in bureaucratic web, which according to him wastes most of his productive time. He laments that he could have used that time in more productive sectors that could contribute to national economy.

He has a strong dislike for engaging in unproductive activities and prefers to spend all his spare time with his family. Sumargi believes that taking a break is important for every individual. “Holidays settles one’s tired mentality and refreshes him\her to come back to work with more energy and creativity”, he says, “Along with that holidays are the opportunities to spend some valuable time with one’s family.”
