<p>The objective of the company is to maintain rating and grading of companies and commercial organizations by analyzing them besides research, training and disseminating of information.</p>

<p>The CARE Ratings Nepal has been established with an agreement with the Security Board of Nepal (SEBON) and in cooperation with the Credit Analysis and Research Ltd. (CARE), Mumbai, India.</p>

<p>Currently, ICRA Nepal established in 2012 is providing rating and grading services to commercial organizations. According to Dr Binod Atreya, CEO of Care Nepal, the company is in the process of operating soon. &ldquo;We are submitting the papers required by SEBON&rdquo;, he said.</p>

<p>Though the agreement was signed on October/November 2016, Dr. Atreya said that it took five months to take permission from SEBON and share market regularization body of India as well as the central bank.</p>

<p>There is a provision that to operate a rating company in Nepal, the foreign partner should have 51 percent share ownership. As per the provision, CARE, Mumbai, India has 51 percent of share investments in CARE Nepal while seven companies including Emerging Nepal Ltd and Vishal Group are other companies investing in CARE Ratings Nepal.</p>

<p>Niranjaya Ghimire, Assistant Spokesperson of SEBON, said the Board provided the license to the company as per the Credit Rating Regulations- 2068 BS. &ldquo;The Board believes this will create competition in credit-rating business and the service will be more qualitative and easy,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p>It has been informed that CARE Ratings Nepal will start its work through rating of stocks and bonds. Nepal has lagged behind in this sector as compared to other countries.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Although it started in 1987 in India, it has been just four to five years that Nepal started the credit rating. Stakeholders opine that there is a lot of potential on credit rating in Nepal as there are many companies such as banking and financial institutions (BFIs), insurance companies and public companies. Likewise, Atreya said that the financial structure and its market have created possibilities in this sector.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>What is Credit Rating?</strong></p>

<p>The detailed analysis of financial status, situation of risk and capacity of providing profit is credit rating. According to SEBON, credit rating is compulsory for any organizations that are issuing primary shares of more than Rs 30 million. &nbsp;The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has said it would make arrangements for rating of debtors.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">In the program, representatives of government, IFC and private sector discussed about developing good risk management mechanism. &ldquo;NRB wants BFIs to be capable of mitigating risks related with environmental and social development. <p style="text-align: justify;">When he instantly went to inform about the counterfeit note, the officials of the bank refused to exchange it saying the bank did not hand him the counterfeit money.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">This is just an example as there is fast spread of counterfeit bank notes in the Birgunj economic zone. The general public is suffering adversely as even the bank is giving counterfeit notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 to customers.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">One of the victimized trader said, &ldquo;The reliability of bank&rsquo;s payment has diminished as it has started handing over counterfeit notes. The general public is suffering badly as even the banks could not identify and control the fake notes.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Pradip Bhattarai, Deputy Director of the Nepal Rastra Bank, Birgunj, the makers of counterfeit money are bringing fake Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes in the market.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">After counterfeit notes were seen in the market, NRB&rsquo;s Regional Office has directed commercial banks to assess the quality of notes, but it is not followed properly.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The commercial banks are not alert while receiving counterfeit monies and the banks return counterfeit money back to the general public. Bhattarai said, &ldquo;The commercial banks are alerted after such counterfeit notes were received from these banks, and the notes found have been withdrawn which are mostly of Rs. 1,000 denomination.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">One of the managers of the bank informed that due to lack of quality in testing counterfeit notes, the fake money makers are successful in bringing such money in the market.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Moreover, the official who found the note said that note-testing devices have limited features resulting in increase of counterfeit money prevailing in the market.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;Meanwhile, the clean-note policy of NRB is also found to be causing trouble as banks do not stitch bundles of notes, and if fake note is found in the bundle with tag only, the banks do not own it and people are victimized. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Ram Sharan Chimoriya, Director General of the Department of Customs (DoC), all the traders need to receive the exim code for import-export of goods from the government under the Customs Act- 2007 from the first month of the FY.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The traders, who were saying that investment can increase due to high deposit amount, have now welcomed it. &ldquo;The deposit amount has been decreased to achieve the aim of smooth running of foreign trade, to make it legal and to address the demands of entrepreneurs,&rdquo; the Department said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The department assumes that exim code will be helpful to reduce the expenditure of load/unload in customs point and to facilitate the coordination with government bodies.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the deposit amount was reduced by the department with an aim to provide exim code in an easy way to all types of export-imports trade.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Jaya Siwakoti, President of the Customs Agent Federation of Nepal (CAFN), and executive member of FNCCI, &nbsp;the provision of exim code is welcome but the process to receive exim code needs to be further simplified.</p>

<p>The objective of the company is to maintain rating and grading of companies and commercial organizations by analyzing them besides research, training and disseminating of information.</p>

<p>The CARE Ratings Nepal has been established with an agreement with the Security Board of Nepal (SEBON) and in cooperation with the Credit Analysis and Research Ltd. (CARE), Mumbai, India.</p>

<p>Currently, ICRA Nepal established in 2012 is providing rating and grading services to commercial organizations. According to Dr Binod Atreya, CEO of Care Nepal, the company is in the process of operating soon. &ldquo;We are submitting the papers required by SEBON&rdquo;, he said.</p>

<p>Though the agreement was signed on October/November 2016, Dr. Atreya said that it took five months to take permission from SEBON and share market regularization body of India as well as the central bank.</p>

<p>There is a provision that to operate a rating company in Nepal, the foreign partner should have 51 percent share ownership. As per the provision, CARE, Mumbai, India has 51 percent of share investments in CARE Nepal while seven companies including Emerging Nepal Ltd and Vishal Group are other companies investing in CARE Ratings Nepal.</p>

<p>Niranjaya Ghimire, Assistant Spokesperson of SEBON, said the Board provided the license to the company as per the Credit Rating Regulations- 2068 BS. &ldquo;The Board believes this will create competition in credit-rating business and the service will be more qualitative and easy,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p>It has been informed that CARE Ratings Nepal will start its work through rating of stocks and bonds. Nepal has lagged behind in this sector as compared to other countries.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Although it started in 1987 in India, it has been just four to five years that Nepal started the credit rating. Stakeholders opine that there is a lot of potential on credit rating in Nepal as there are many companies such as banking and financial institutions (BFIs), insurance companies and public companies. Likewise, Atreya said that the financial structure and its market have created possibilities in this sector.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>What is Credit Rating?</strong></p>

<p>The detailed analysis of financial status, situation of risk and capacity of providing profit is credit rating. According to SEBON, credit rating is compulsory for any organizations that are issuing primary shares of more than Rs 30 million. &nbsp;The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has said it would make arrangements for rating of debtors.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Issuing a press statement, the company informed that Ncell was declared winner and conferred with the Awards after independent panel of jury judged Ncell&rsquo;s initiative with Gham Power Nepal Pvt Ltd to connect the unconnected off-grid communities with telecom as well as energy by promoting off-grid clean power solutions as the most innovative project implemented by telecom service providers in Asia Pacific.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to the statement, other projects shortlisted for the Most Innovative Telecom Project were Google&rsquo;s Project Loon, China Unicom&rsquo;s IoT based smart parking and SK Telecom of South Korea&rsquo;s first virtual assistant service &lsquo;Nugu&rsquo;. Ncell&rsquo;s project was declared the best based on criteria of innovation, financial performance, technology, market leadership and corporate governance.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Ncell&rsquo;s Corporate Communications Director Sanju Koirala received the award amid a gala event of 20th Telecom Asia Awards organized in Malaysia, on Wednesday May 3.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The private sector communication company said that surplus capacity of the micro grid has contributed in electrification of communities and created new economic opportunities and social benefits for the local people. Thanks to reliable communications and power supply, people in the project areas are operating small and medium enterprises such as electric grinding mills, computer centers, restaurants and petrol pump, among others, creating businesses and jobs at local level. School going children are able to read and write for long hours in the evening; adverse impact on health resulting from smoke of kerosene lamps has been eliminated.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">When he instantly went to inform about the counterfeit note, the officials of the bank refused to exchange it saying the bank did not hand him the counterfeit money.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">This is just an example as there is fast spread of counterfeit bank notes in the Birgunj economic zone. The general public is suffering adversely as even the bank is giving counterfeit notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 to customers.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">One of the victimized trader said, &ldquo;The reliability of bank&rsquo;s payment has diminished as it has started handing over counterfeit notes. The general public is suffering badly as even the banks could not identify and control the fake notes.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Pradip Bhattarai, Deputy Director of the Nepal Rastra Bank, Birgunj, the makers of counterfeit money are bringing fake Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes in the market.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">After counterfeit notes were seen in the market, NRB&rsquo;s Regional Office has directed commercial banks to assess the quality of notes, but it is not followed properly.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The commercial banks are not alert while receiving counterfeit monies and the banks return counterfeit money back to the general public. Bhattarai said, &ldquo;The commercial banks are alerted after such counterfeit notes were received from these banks, and the notes found have been withdrawn which are mostly of Rs. 1,000 denomination.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">One of the managers of the bank informed that due to lack of quality in testing counterfeit notes, the fake money makers are successful in bringing such money in the market.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Moreover, the official who found the note said that note-testing devices have limited features resulting in increase of counterfeit money prevailing in the market.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;Meanwhile, the clean-note policy of NRB is also found to be causing trouble as banks do not stitch bundles of notes, and if fake note is found in the bundle with tag only, the banks do not own it and people are victimized. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The government which has decided to implement exim code has released information to traders requesting them to receive the code from the Department of Customs before this.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The deposit amount was reduced to Rs 300,000 from Rs one million as traders did not show their interest in it as expected.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Ram Sharan Chimoriya, Director General of the Department of Customs (DoC), all the traders need to receive the exim code for import-export of goods from the government under the Customs Act- 2007 from the first month of the FY.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The traders, who were saying that investment can increase due to high deposit amount, have now welcomed it. &ldquo;The deposit amount has been decreased to achieve the aim of smooth running of foreign trade, to make it legal and to address the demands of entrepreneurs,&rdquo; the Department said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The department assumes that exim code will be helpful to reduce the expenditure of load/unload in customs point and to facilitate the coordination with government bodies.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the deposit amount was reduced by the department with an aim to provide exim code in an easy way to all types of export-imports trade.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Jaya Siwakoti, President of the Customs Agent Federation of Nepal (CAFN), and executive member of FNCCI, &nbsp;the provision of exim code is welcome but the process to receive exim code needs to be further simplified.</p>

<p>The objective of the company is to maintain rating and grading of companies and commercial organizations by analyzing them besides research, training and disseminating of information.</p>

<p>The CARE Ratings Nepal has been established with an agreement with the Security Board of Nepal (SEBON) and in cooperation with the Credit Analysis and Research Ltd. (CARE), Mumbai, India.</p>

<p>Currently, ICRA Nepal established in 2012 is providing rating and grading services to commercial organizations. According to Dr Binod Atreya, CEO of Care Nepal, the company is in the process of operating soon. &ldquo;We are submitting the papers required by SEBON&rdquo;, he said.</p>

<p>Though the agreement was signed on October/November 2016, Dr. Atreya said that it took five months to take permission from SEBON and share market regularization body of India as well as the central bank.</p>

<p>There is a provision that to operate a rating company in Nepal, the foreign partner should have 51 percent share ownership. As per the provision, CARE, Mumbai, India has 51 percent of share investments in CARE Nepal while seven companies including Emerging Nepal Ltd and Vishal Group are other companies investing in CARE Ratings Nepal.</p>

<p>Niranjaya Ghimire, Assistant Spokesperson of SEBON, said the Board provided the license to the company as per the Credit Rating Regulations- 2068 BS. &ldquo;The Board believes this will create competition in credit-rating business and the service will be more qualitative and easy,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p>It has been informed that CARE Ratings Nepal will start its work through rating of stocks and bonds. Nepal has lagged behind in this sector as compared to other countries.</p>

Stakeholders opine that there is a lot of potential on credit rating in Nepal as there are many companies such as banking and financial institutions (BFIs), insurance companies and public companies. Likewise, Atreya said that the financial structure and its market have created possibilities in this sector.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>What is Credit Rating?</strong></p>

<p>The detailed analysis of financial status, situation of risk and capacity of providing profit is credit rating. According to SEBON, credit rating is compulsory for any organizations that are issuing primary shares of more than Rs 30 million. &nbsp;The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has said it would make arrangements for rating of debtors.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">When he instantly went to inform about the counterfeit note, the officials of the bank refused to exchange it saying the bank did not hand him the counterfeit money.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">This is just an example as there is fast spread of counterfeit bank notes in the Birgunj economic zone. The general public is suffering adversely as even the bank is giving counterfeit notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 to customers.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">One of the victimized trader said, &ldquo;The reliability of bank&rsquo;s payment has diminished as it has started handing over counterfeit notes. The general public is suffering badly as even the banks could not identify and control the fake notes.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Pradip Bhattarai, Deputy Director of the Nepal Rastra Bank, Birgunj, the makers of counterfeit money are bringing fake Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes in the market.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">After counterfeit notes were seen in the market, NRB&rsquo;s Regional Office has directed commercial banks to assess the quality of notes, but it is not followed properly.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The commercial banks are not alert while receiving counterfeit monies and the banks return counterfeit money back to the general public. Bhattarai said, &ldquo;The commercial banks are alerted after such counterfeit notes were received from these banks, and the notes found have been withdrawn which are mostly of Rs. 1,000 denomination.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">One of the managers of the bank informed that due to lack of quality in testing counterfeit notes, the fake money makers are successful in bringing such money in the market.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Moreover, the official who found the note said that note-testing devices have limited features resulting in increase of counterfeit money prevailing in the market.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;Meanwhile, the clean-note policy of NRB is also found to be causing trouble as banks do not stitch bundles of notes, and if fake note is found in the bundle with tag only, the banks do not own it and people are victimized. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The deposit amount was reduced to Rs 300,000 from Rs one million as traders did not show their interest in it as expected.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Ram Sharan Chimoriya, Director General of the Department of Customs (DoC), all the traders need to receive the exim code for import-export of goods from the government under the Customs Act- 2007 from the first month of the FY.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The traders, who were saying that investment can increase due to high deposit amount, have now welcomed it. &ldquo;The deposit amount has been decreased to achieve the aim of smooth running of foreign trade, to make it legal and to address the demands of entrepreneurs,&rdquo; the Department said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The department assumes that exim code will be helpful to reduce the expenditure of load/unload in customs point and to facilitate the coordination with government bodies.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the deposit amount was reduced by the department with an aim to provide exim code in an easy way to all types of export-imports trade.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Jaya Siwakoti, President of the Customs Agent Federation of Nepal (CAFN), and executive member of FNCCI, &nbsp;the provision of exim code is welcome but the process to receive exim code needs to be further simplified.</p>

<p>The objective of the company is to maintain rating and grading of companies and commercial organizations by analyzing them besides research, training and disseminating of information.</p>

<p>The CARE Ratings Nepal has been established with an agreement with the Security Board of Nepal (SEBON) and in cooperation with the Credit Analysis and Research Ltd. (CARE), Mumbai, India.</p>

<p>Currently, ICRA Nepal established in 2012 is providing rating and grading services to commercial organizations. According to Dr Binod Atreya, CEO of Care Nepal, the company is in the process of operating soon. &ldquo;We are submitting the papers required by SEBON&rdquo;, he said.</p>

<p>Though the agreement was signed on October/November 2016, Dr. Atreya said that it took five months to take permission from SEBON and share market regularization body of India as well as the central bank.</p>

<p>There is a provision that to operate a rating company in Nepal, the foreign partner should have 51 percent share ownership. As per the provision, CARE, Mumbai, India has 51 percent of share investments in CARE Nepal while seven companies including Emerging Nepal Ltd and Vishal Group are other companies investing in CARE Ratings Nepal.</p>

<p>Niranjaya Ghimire, Assistant Spokesperson of SEBON, said the Board provided the license to the company as per the Credit Rating Regulations- 2068 BS. &ldquo;The Board believes this will create competition in credit-rating business and the service will be more qualitative and easy,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p>It has been informed that CARE Ratings Nepal will start its work through rating of stocks and bonds. Nepal has lagged behind in this sector as compared to other countries.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Although it started in 1987 in India, it has been just four to five years that Nepal started the credit rating. Stakeholders opine that there is a lot of potential on credit rating in Nepal as there are many companies such as banking and financial institutions (BFIs), insurance companies and public companies. Likewise, Atreya said that the financial structure and its market have created possibilities in this sector.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>What is Credit Rating?</strong></p>

<p>The detailed analysis of financial status, situation of risk and capacity of providing profit is credit rating. According to SEBON, credit rating is compulsory for any organizations that are issuing primary shares of more than Rs 30 million. &nbsp;The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has said it would make arrangements for rating of debtors.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">This is just an example as there is fast spread of counterfeit bank notes in the Birgunj economic zone. The general public is suffering adversely as even the bank is giving counterfeit notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 to customers.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">One of the victimized trader said, &ldquo;The reliability of bank&rsquo;s payment has diminished as it has started handing over counterfeit notes. The general public is suffering badly as even the banks could not identify and control the fake notes.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Pradip Bhattarai, Deputy Director of the Nepal Rastra Bank, Birgunj, the makers of counterfeit money are bringing fake Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes in the market.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">After counterfeit notes were seen in the market, NRB&rsquo;s Regional Office has directed commercial banks to assess the quality of notes, but it is not followed properly.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The commercial banks are not alert while receiving counterfeit monies and the banks return counterfeit money back to the general public. Bhattarai said, &ldquo;The commercial banks are alerted after such counterfeit notes were received from these banks, and the notes found have been withdrawn which are mostly of Rs. 1,000 denomination.&rdquo;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The government which has decided to implement exim code has released information to traders requesting them to receive the code from the Department of Customs before this.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The deposit amount was reduced to Rs 300,000 from Rs one million as traders did not show their interest in it as expected.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Ram Sharan Chimoriya, Director General of the Department of Customs (DoC), all the traders need to receive the exim code for import-export of goods from the government under the Customs Act- 2007 from the first month of the FY.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The traders, who were saying that investment can increase due to high deposit amount, have now welcomed it. &ldquo;The deposit amount has been decreased to achieve the aim of smooth running of foreign trade, to make it legal and to address the demands of entrepreneurs,&rdquo; the Department said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The department assumes that exim code will be helpful to reduce the expenditure of load/unload in customs point and to facilitate the coordination with government bodies.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the deposit amount was reduced by the department with an aim to provide exim code in an easy way to all types of export-imports trade.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Jaya Siwakoti, President of the Customs Agent Federation of Nepal (CAFN), and executive member of FNCCI, &nbsp;the provision of exim code is welcome but the process to receive exim code needs to be further simplified.</p>
