The programme was jointly organised by the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) and FNCCI.</p>

<p>Murarka further added that the tax system in the country is very unclear. Similarly, Vice-President of FNCCI Chandra Prakash Dhakal said that the government should not levy more than 20 percent tax on the entrepreneurs.</p>

<p>Likewise, speaking at the program, Shova Kanta Poudel, head of the Revenue Management Division at the Ministry of Finance (MoF), said that the entrepreneurs are fearful regarding double taxation on house rent tax, but the government will address the issue by bringing a new policy.</p>

<p>The foundation stone to connect the Fewa Lake with Sarangkot was laid last year but the project couldn&rsquo;t gain momentum due to procedural delays. With the formal agreement between the construction company and investors on Thursday, the construction of the cable car is expected to gain pace.</p>

<p>Annapurna Cable Car Pvt Ltd is the investor of the project. According to Kalu Gurung, president of the company, it has penned a contract with Chitwan Co-E Company for the construction of the cable car.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The construction has started in full pace, and we believe the cable car will be operated within the next one and a half years,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p>The company is constructing the cable car with an investment of around Rs 1.10 billion. It is believed that the flow of tourists in the region will surge once the construction of cable car is completed.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Once the construction is completed, Pokhara will have more tourists,&rdquo; Gurung said, adding that the cable car will make Pokhara more famous.</p>

<p>The counterfeit notes have been found at different cooperative houses and also in banks of Beni, the headquarters of Myagdi.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Though we have not got any written reports regarding the counterfeit currencies, we have been informed that these currencies are being found every day,&rdquo; shared Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Basundhara Khadka. She said that Superintendent Police Santosh Roka along with group of police personnel have been investigating the case.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The counterfeit notes will also be sent to the capital for further inspection,&rdquo; Khada said. &nbsp;She has asked the general public to inform the police if they find any counterfeit currency.</p>

<p>According to poice, the public&rsquo;s support in busting the counterfeit currency gang has not been that encouraging. Rather, they have been involved in hiding those notes among piles of genuine notes and circulating them among the people during transaction.&nbsp; The locals say that it is very difficult to differentiate between the original and counterfeit notes. &nbsp;Due to this, the financial institutions are being compelled to refund the money by themselves.</p>

<p>One way to identify the counterfeit currency is to turn the blank side of the note towards the sun, upon which the image of rhododendron seems to be unclear.</p>

<p>Likewise, the security line in the note is also not clear in counterfeit currency. The paper quality of the original currency is hard and rough whereas the paper quality of the counterfeit currency is thin and smooth.&nbsp; The police said that they have not been getting enough help regarding the investigation of counterfeit currency.</p>

<p>Speaking at a &nbsp;panel discussion programme on Media and Entrepreneurship organised&nbsp;&nbsp; on November 22, Prateek Pradhan, editor-in-chief of Baahrakhari, said that starting a media house is an easy task but operating and expanding it is very difficult in Nepal.</p>

<p>Citing an example of the rise in number of media outlets in the recent days, Pradhan said, &ldquo;Building enterprise is fast in Nepal but institutionalising it is an arduous task. On top of it, it is very difficult to find investors for the media sector in Nepal,&rdquo; shared Pradhan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Besides Pradhan, editor-in-chief of Karobar National Economic Daily Kuber Chalise and Editor of Republica Subhash Ghimire also expressed their views during the programme organised by Nepal Entrepreneurs Hub in coordination with Society of Economic Journalists of Nepal (SEJON).&nbsp;</p>

<p>The discussion was focused on the challenges for media entrepreneurs and also the role of media in promoting and disseminating stories and facts about the entrepreneurial sectors of Nepal.</p>

<p>Pradhan added that politics can play an important role by setting a rule of law for the ecosystem which includes media, entrepreneurs and investors. Besides this, media professionals and journalists in the Nepali media sector should also be focused on long-term goals rather than using media as a platform for certain targets, shared Pradhan. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Pradhan suggested to the entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs that starting their venture with a vision and operating with sustainable approach will definitely help them gain attention.</p>

<p>Similarly, Chalise shared that rather than increasing the number of media outlets, the existing media houses should have a regular revenue stream so that they can operate professionally.</p>

<p>He viewed that in course of promoting entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs, media can only play a role to give platform to sustainable businesses. &ldquo;Media cannot establish any entrepreneurs or enterprise. We search for good businesses which have been creating impact and which are sustainable and viable for coverage,&rdquo; Chalise shared. &nbsp;&nbsp;Media coverage cannot make anyone or anything popular. Rather it depends on the long-term vision and implementation of the owner which makes their venture well-liked, he shared.</p>

<p>Subash Ghimire, editor of Republica National Daily, said that the media should play a major role to educate and make people aware about the economics so that the common people can also understand the importance of economics and business news and articles in their daily life.</p>

<p>Talking about the challenge for media, he shared that the general mass is vulnerable to fake news appearing on social media and the credibility of the mainstream media outlets is getting reduced. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Addressing the entrepreneurs and start-ups, he said that though various start-ups have been coming in the ecosystem, many of them are not being able to address the immediate needs of the people due to the high cost they charge for their products and services.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Media is always looking for real impactful ideas and ventures. So, start-ups should also be crazy, dedicated, patient and professional enough to approach themselves for coverage in the media,&rdquo; he shared.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&lsquo;Media and Entrepreneurship&rsquo; is the first session of the programme under Spark Week 2017, which is being organised on the occasion of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2017. The programme will be held from November 22 to 26. The five-day programme will include various sessions including media and entrepreneurship, importance of making ideas viable, investors&rsquo; perspective and policy and capacity enhancing activities for entrepreneurs.</p>

<p>The bank had opened a branch at Tarkeshwor, Kathmandu last week as per the policy of Nepal Rastriya Bank to open financial institutions at all local units of the country.</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement, the bank said that the branch will provide various services including deposits and loan facilities as well as <u>ABBS</u> and mobile banking services. The bank has been providing service across the country through its network of 45 branches and 14 ATM counters.</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement on Thursday, November 23, the ADB confirmed&nbsp; that Khamudkhanov will replace the outgoing Country Director Kenichi Yokoyama, who served in Nepal from 2011.</p>

<p>ADB said in the statement that Khamudkhanov will lead ADB operations in Nepal and oversee the formulation and implementation of ADB&rsquo;s Country Partnership Strategy, which aims to support the country&rsquo;s long-term development needs through infrastructure, human capital and private sector development, and regional integration and social inclusion.</p>

<p>&ldquo;My priority is to build on that partnership, work closely with the government, and effectively coordinate our country office&rsquo;s extensive support to the government&rsquo;s development agenda and poverty reduction efforts,&rdquo; the statement quoted Khamudkhanov as saying.</p>

<p>Khamudkhanov is an Uzbek national who joined ADB in 2001 holds a PhD in Technology (Electrical Engineering) from Tashkent State Technical University, Uzbekistan.</p>

<p>The statement further reads that ADB has provided the country with $5 billion in public and private sector loans, technical assistance, and grants. ADB was established in 1966.</p>

<p>Annapurna Cable Car Pvt Ltd is the investor of the project. According to Kalu Gurung, president of the company, it has penned a contract with Chitwan Co-E Company for the construction of the cable car.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The construction has started in full pace, and we believe the cable car will be operated within the next one and a half years,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p>The company is constructing the cable car with an investment of around Rs 1.10 billion. It is believed that the flow of tourists in the region will surge once the construction of cable car is completed.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Once the construction is completed, Pokhara will have more tourists,&rdquo; Gurung said, adding that the cable car will make Pokhara more famous.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Though we have not got any written reports regarding the counterfeit currencies, we have been informed that these currencies are being found every day,&rdquo; shared Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Basundhara Khadka. She said that Superintendent Police Santosh Roka along with group of police personnel have been investigating the case.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The counterfeit notes will also be sent to the capital for further inspection,&rdquo; Khada said. &nbsp;She has asked the general public to inform the police if they find any counterfeit currency.</p>

<p>According to poice, the public&rsquo;s support in busting the counterfeit currency gang has not been that encouraging. Rather, they have been involved in hiding those notes among piles of genuine notes and circulating them among the people during transaction.&nbsp; The locals say that it is very difficult to differentiate between the original and counterfeit notes. &nbsp;Due to this, the financial institutions are being compelled to refund the money by themselves.</p>

<p>One way to identify the counterfeit currency is to turn the blank side of the note towards the sun, upon which the image of rhododendron seems to be unclear.</p>

<p>Likewise, the security line in the note is also not clear in counterfeit currency. The paper quality of the original currency is hard and rough whereas the paper quality of the counterfeit currency is thin and smooth.&nbsp; The police said that they have not been getting enough help regarding the investigation of counterfeit currency.</p>

<p>Pradhan suggested to the entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs that starting their venture with a vision and operating with sustainable approach will definitely help them gain attention.</p>

<p>Similarly, Chalise shared that rather than increasing the number of media outlets, the existing media houses should have a regular revenue stream so that they can operate professionally.</p>

<p>He viewed that in course of promoting entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs, media can only play a role to give platform to sustainable businesses. &ldquo;Media cannot establish any entrepreneurs or enterprise. Rather it depends on the long-term vision and implementation of the owner which makes their venture well-liked, he shared.</p>

<p>Subash Ghimire, editor of Republica National Daily, said that the media should play a major role to educate and make people aware about the economics so that the common people can also understand the importance of economics and business news and articles in their daily life.</p>

<p>Talking about the challenge for media, he shared that the general mass is vulnerable to fake news appearing on social media and the credibility of the mainstream media outlets is getting reduced. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Addressing the entrepreneurs and start-ups, he said that though various start-ups have been coming in the ecosystem, many of them are not being able to address the immediate needs of the people due to the high cost they charge for their products and services.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Media is always looking for real impactful ideas and ventures. So, start-ups should also be crazy, dedicated, patient and professional enough to approach themselves for coverage in the media,&rdquo; he shared.</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement on Thursday, November 23, the ADB confirmed&nbsp; that Khamudkhanov will replace the outgoing Country Director Kenichi Yokoyama, who served in Nepal from 2011.</p>

<p>ADB said in the statement that Khamudkhanov will lead ADB operations in Nepal and oversee the formulation and implementation of ADB&rsquo;s Country Partnership Strategy, which aims to support the country&rsquo;s long-term development needs through infrastructure, human capital and private sector development, and regional integration and social inclusion.</p>

<p>&ldquo;My priority is to build on that partnership, work closely with the government, and effectively coordinate our country office&rsquo;s extensive support to the government&rsquo;s development agenda and poverty reduction efforts,&rdquo; the statement quoted Khamudkhanov as saying.</p>

<p>Khamudkhanov is an Uzbek national who joined ADB in 2001 holds a PhD in Technology (Electrical Engineering) from Tashkent State Technical University, Uzbekistan.</p>

<p>The statement further reads that ADB has provided the country with $5 billion in public and private sector loans, technical assistance, and grants. ADB was established in 1966.</p>

<p>Annapurna Cable Car Pvt Ltd is the investor of the project. According to Kalu Gurung, president of the company, it has penned a contract with Chitwan Co-E Company for the construction of the cable car.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The construction has started in full pace, and we believe the cable car will be operated within the next one and a half years,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p>The company is constructing the cable car with an investment of around Rs 1.10 billion. It is believed that the flow of tourists in the region will surge once the construction of cable car is completed.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Once the construction is completed, Pokhara will have more tourists,&rdquo; Gurung said, adding that the cable car will make Pokhara more famous.</p>

The counterfeit notes have been found in banks and financial institutions, grocery stores and most of the crowded places where daily transactions take place. It has been assumed that the counterfeit currencies have entered into the district from various means, including the buying of animals during festive season as well as while buying votes and drugs.</span></p>

<p>The counterfeit notes have been found at different cooperative houses and also in banks of Beni, the headquarters of Myagdi.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Though we have not got any written reports regarding the counterfeit currencies, we have been informed that these currencies are being found every day,&rdquo; shared Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Basundhara Khadka. She said that Superintendent Police Santosh Roka along with group of police personnel have been investigating the case.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The counterfeit notes will also be sent to the capital for further inspection,&rdquo; Khada said. &nbsp;She has asked the general public to inform the police if they find any counterfeit currency.</p>

<p>According to poice, the public&rsquo;s support in busting the counterfeit currency gang has not been that encouraging. Rather, they have been involved in hiding those notes among piles of genuine notes and circulating them among the people during transaction.&nbsp; The locals say that it is very difficult to differentiate between the original and counterfeit notes. &nbsp;Due to this, the financial institutions are being compelled to refund the money by themselves.</p>

<p>One way to identify the counterfeit currency is to turn the blank side of the note towards the sun, upon which the image of rhododendron seems to be unclear.</p>

<p>Likewise, the security line in the note is also not clear in counterfeit currency. The paper quality of the original currency is hard and rough whereas the paper quality of the counterfeit currency is thin and smooth.&nbsp; The police said that they have not been getting enough help regarding the investigation of counterfeit currency.</p>

<p>Speaking at a &nbsp;panel discussion programme on Media and Entrepreneurship organised&nbsp;&nbsp; on November 22, Prateek Pradhan, editor-in-chief of Baahrakhari, said that starting a media house is an easy task but operating and expanding it is very difficult in Nepal.</p>

<p>Citing an example of the rise in number of media outlets in the recent days, Pradhan said, &ldquo;Building enterprise is fast in Nepal but institutionalising it is an arduous task. On top of it, it is very difficult to find investors for the media sector in Nepal,&rdquo; shared Pradhan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Besides Pradhan, editor-in-chief of Karobar National Economic Daily Kuber Chalise and Editor of Republica Subhash Ghimire also expressed their views during the programme organised by Nepal Entrepreneurs Hub in coordination with Society of Economic Journalists of Nepal (SEJON).&nbsp;</p>

<p>The discussion was focused on the challenges for media entrepreneurs and also the role of media in promoting and disseminating stories and facts about the entrepreneurial sectors of Nepal.</p>

<p>Pradhan added that politics can play an important role by setting a rule of law for the ecosystem which includes media, entrepreneurs and investors. Besides this, media professionals and journalists in the Nepali media sector should also be focused on long-term goals rather than using media as a platform for certain targets, shared Pradhan. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Pradhan suggested to the entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs that starting their venture with a vision and operating with sustainable approach will definitely help them gain attention.</p>

<p>Similarly, Chalise shared that rather than increasing the number of media outlets, the existing media houses should have a regular revenue stream so that they can operate professionally.</p>

<p>He viewed that in course of promoting entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs, media can only play a role to give platform to sustainable businesses. &ldquo;Media cannot establish any entrepreneurs or enterprise. We search for good businesses which have been creating impact and which are sustainable and viable for coverage,&rdquo; Chalise shared. &nbsp;&nbsp;Media coverage cannot make anyone or anything popular. Rather it depends on the long-term vision and implementation of the owner which makes their venture well-liked, he shared.</p>

<p>Subash Ghimire, editor of Republica National Daily, said that the media should play a major role to educate and make people aware about the economics so that the common people can also understand the importance of economics and business news and articles in their daily life.</p>

<p>Talking about the challenge for media, he shared that the general mass is vulnerable to fake news appearing on social media and the credibility of the mainstream media outlets is getting reduced. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Addressing the entrepreneurs and start-ups, he said that though various start-ups have been coming in the ecosystem, many of them are not being able to address the immediate needs of the people due to the high cost they charge for their products and services.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Media is always looking for real impactful ideas and ventures. So, start-ups should also be crazy, dedicated, patient and professional enough to approach themselves for coverage in the media,&rdquo; he shared.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&lsquo;Media and Entrepreneurship&rsquo; is the first session of the programme under Spark Week 2017, which is being organised on the occasion of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2017. The programme will be held from November 22 to 26. The five-day programme will include various sessions including media and entrepreneurship, importance of making ideas viable, investors&rsquo; perspective and policy and capacity enhancing activities for entrepreneurs.</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement on Thursday, November 23, the ADB confirmed&nbsp; that Khamudkhanov will replace the outgoing Country Director Kenichi Yokoyama, who served in Nepal from 2011.</p>

<p>ADB said in the statement that Khamudkhanov will lead ADB operations in Nepal and oversee the formulation and implementation of ADB&rsquo;s Country Partnership Strategy, which aims to support the country&rsquo;s long-term development needs through infrastructure, human capital and private sector development, and regional integration and social inclusion.</p>

<p>&ldquo;My priority is to build on that partnership, work closely with the government, and effectively coordinate our country office&rsquo;s extensive support to the government&rsquo;s development agenda and poverty reduction efforts,&rdquo; the statement quoted Khamudkhanov as saying.</p>

<p>Khamudkhanov is an Uzbek national who joined ADB in 2001 holds a PhD in Technology (Electrical Engineering) from Tashkent State Technical University, Uzbekistan.</p>

<p>The statement further reads that ADB has provided the country with $5 billion in public and private sector loans, technical assistance, and grants. ADB was established in 1966.</p>

<p>The foundation stone to connect the Fewa Lake with Sarangkot was laid last year but the project couldn&rsquo;t gain momentum due to procedural delays. With the formal agreement between the construction company and investors on Thursday, the construction of the cable car is expected to gain pace.</p>

<p>Annapurna Cable Car Pvt Ltd is the investor of the project. According to Kalu Gurung, president of the company, it has penned a contract with Chitwan Co-E Company for the construction of the cable car.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The construction has started in full pace, and we believe the cable car will be operated within the next one and a half years,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p>The company is constructing the cable car with an investment of around Rs 1.10 billion. It is believed that the flow of tourists in the region will surge once the construction of cable car is completed.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Once the construction is completed, Pokhara will have more tourists,&rdquo; Gurung said, adding that the cable car will make Pokhara more famous.</p>

It has been assumed that the counterfeit currencies have entered into the district from various means, including the buying of animals during festive season as well as while buying votes and drugs.</span></p>

<p>The counterfeit notes have been found at different cooperative houses and also in banks of Beni, the headquarters of Myagdi.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Though we have not got any written reports regarding the counterfeit currencies, we have been informed that these currencies are being found every day,&rdquo; shared Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Basundhara Khadka. She said that Superintendent Police Santosh Roka along with group of police personnel have been investigating the case.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The counterfeit notes will also be sent to the capital for further inspection,&rdquo; Khada said. &nbsp;She has asked the general public to inform the police if they find any counterfeit currency.</p>

<p>According to poice, the public&rsquo;s support in busting the counterfeit currency gang has not been that encouraging. Rather, they have been involved in hiding those notes among piles of genuine notes and circulating them among the people during transaction.&nbsp; The locals say that it is very difficult to differentiate between the original and counterfeit notes. &nbsp;Due to this, the financial institutions are being compelled to refund the money by themselves.</p>

<p>One way to identify the counterfeit currency is to turn the blank side of the note towards the sun, upon which the image of rhododendron seems to be unclear.</p>

<p>Likewise, the security line in the note is also not clear in counterfeit currency. The paper quality of the original currency is hard and rough whereas the paper quality of the counterfeit currency is thin and smooth.&nbsp; The police said that they have not been getting enough help regarding the investigation of counterfeit currency.</p>

<p>Speaking at a &nbsp;panel discussion programme on Media and Entrepreneurship organised&nbsp;&nbsp; on November 22, Prateek Pradhan, editor-in-chief of Baahrakhari, said that starting a media house is an easy task but operating and expanding it is very difficult in Nepal.</p>

<p>Citing an example of the rise in number of media outlets in the recent days, Pradhan said, &ldquo;Building enterprise is fast in Nepal but institutionalising it is an arduous task. On top of it, it is very difficult to find investors for the media sector in Nepal,&rdquo; shared Pradhan.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Besides Pradhan, editor-in-chief of Karobar National Economic Daily Kuber Chalise and Editor of Republica Subhash Ghimire also expressed their views during the programme organised by Nepal Entrepreneurs Hub in coordination with Society of Economic Journalists of Nepal (SEJON).&nbsp;</p>

<p>The discussion was focused on the challenges for media entrepreneurs and also the role of media in promoting and disseminating stories and facts about the entrepreneurial sectors of Nepal.</p>

<p>Pradhan added that politics can play an important role by setting a rule of law for the ecosystem which includes media, entrepreneurs and investors. Besides this, media professionals and journalists in the Nepali media sector should also be focused on long-term goals rather than using media as a platform for certain targets, shared Pradhan. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Pradhan suggested to the entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs that starting their venture with a vision and operating with sustainable approach will definitely help them gain attention.</p>

<p>Similarly, Chalise shared that rather than increasing the number of media outlets, the existing media houses should have a regular revenue stream so that they can operate professionally.</p>

<p>He viewed that in course of promoting entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs, media can only play a role to give platform to sustainable businesses. &ldquo;Media cannot establish any entrepreneurs or enterprise. We search for good businesses which have been creating impact and which are sustainable and viable for coverage,&rdquo; Chalise shared. &nbsp;&nbsp;Media coverage cannot make anyone or anything popular. Rather it depends on the long-term vision and implementation of the owner which makes their venture well-liked, he shared.</p>

<p>Subash Ghimire, editor of Republica National Daily, said that the media should play a major role to educate and make people aware about the economics so that the common people can also understand the importance of economics and business news and articles in their daily life.</p>

<p>Talking about the challenge for media, he shared that the general mass is vulnerable to fake news appearing on social media and the credibility of the mainstream media outlets is getting reduced. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Addressing the entrepreneurs and start-ups, he said that though various start-ups have been coming in the ecosystem, many of them are not being able to address the immediate needs of the people due to the high cost they charge for their products and services.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Media is always looking for real impactful ideas and ventures. So, start-ups should also be crazy, dedicated, patient and professional enough to approach themselves for coverage in the media,&rdquo; he shared.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&lsquo;Media and Entrepreneurship&rsquo; is the first session of the programme under Spark Week 2017, which is being organised on the occasion of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2017. The programme will be held from November 22 to 26. The five-day programme will include various sessions including media and entrepreneurship, importance of making ideas viable, investors&rsquo; perspective and policy and capacity enhancing activities for entrepreneurs.</p>

<p>Issuing a press statement on Thursday, November 23, the ADB confirmed&nbsp; that Khamudkhanov will replace the outgoing Country Director Kenichi Yokoyama, who served in Nepal from 2011.</p>

<p>ADB said in the statement that Khamudkhanov will lead ADB operations in Nepal and oversee the formulation and implementation of ADB&rsquo;s Country Partnership Strategy, which aims to support the country&rsquo;s long-term development needs through infrastructure, human capital and private sector development, and regional integration and social inclusion.</p>

<p>&ldquo;My priority is to build on that partnership, work closely with the government, and effectively coordinate our country office&rsquo;s extensive support to the government&rsquo;s development agenda and poverty reduction efforts,&rdquo; the statement quoted Khamudkhanov as saying.</p>

<p>Khamudkhanov is an Uzbek national who joined ADB in 2001 holds a PhD in Technology (Electrical Engineering) from Tashkent State Technical University, Uzbekistan.</p>

<p>The statement further reads that ADB has provided the country with $5 billion in public and private sector loans, technical assistance, and grants. ADB was established in 1966.</p>
