	Targeting the investment year 2012/13, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) is planning to bring medium-term economic development strategy with 50 new projects. </p>
<p>
	The strategy is expected to attract large investors in the country during the investment year. According to Hemant Dawadi, Director General of FNCCI, the federation is preparing profiles of the projects. This is the first time that FNCCI is preparing such an extensive strategy paper for large projects. Dawadi said that the projects will be mainly in hydropower, tourism, education, health, agriculture, infrastructure development, cement and consumer goods.</p>
<p>
	Such profiles will include the investment opportunities in the respective field, the government policy for the same as well as the constraints in the realisation of the opportunities. According to Dawadi, once the projects are developed, investors will be searched in China, India, America and European countries by mobilising support from the business chambers in the respective countries. FNCCI says it has plan to set up an information centre with its own investment within three years. &nbsp;</p>',

	Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has started a special system for block trading from November 15. Trading of more than one per cent of the listed shares of a company is defined as ‘block trading’, according to NEPSE. For such trading, NEPSE has introduced a separate window in its automated trading system. The first deal recorded in NEPSE under the new system was the sale of 1,020,144 units of shares in Hotel Soaltee Limited by India’s hospitality industry major Oberoi Hotels to Nepal’s investment company Shivcream Land and Industries Company.</p>
<p>
	With this Oberoi has made final exit from Soaltee. With the new system, buyers and sellers of large quantity of shares of a company can negotiate the price outside the NEPSE and bring the deal to NEPSE for record purpose. Thus the parties to such deals can now pay the commission on the basis of the actual deal value. Earlier, as the deals were recorded by NEPSE on the current market price, the parties were forced to pay a high commission. </p>
<p>
	NEPSE hopes, this new system will make it easier for the large shareholders, such as foreign direct investors to exit from a company. According to Nepse, the Soaltee deal was signed between the parties on September 14 and the price agreed was Rs. 140 per share. The Face value of Soaltee’s shares is Rs. 10 per unit. The latest trading price of Soaltee’s shares before November 15 was Rs. 186. With the exit of Oberoi, Soaltee now has Holiday Inn International as the only foreign shareholder. &nbsp;</p>',

However, Nepal has slipped 19 steps down in the international rankings, shows this year's report. Human Development Report . This year's Human Development Report titled, Equity and Sustainability:</p>

	A Better Future for All places Nepal 157th out of 187 countries. Nepal was ranked 138th out of 169 countries in 2010, which was five slots higher than in 2005. HDI is calculated as an average of the literacy rate, life expectancy and per capita income of the respective country. An improvement in any of these indicators helps improve the HDI. The report in 2010 had listed Nepal among the 10 countries that made most significant progress in HDI because of improvement in health and education.</p>
<p>
	Development progress in the world's poorest countries could be halted or even reversed by mid-century unless bold steps are taken now to slow climate change, prevent further environmental damage, and reduce deep inequalities within and among nations, reads the report. The report says that environment can only be saved if the growing energy demand can be managed and with improvement in ecology, education, health, income, and gender equality. Norway, Australia and the Netherlands lead the world in the 2011 HDI while Democratic Republic of Congo, Niger and Burundi are at the bottom of the list. Similarly, China stands at 101 and India in 134th position. China and India were ranked 89 and 119 respectively in 2010. ï</p>',

	The Consumer Protection Council (CPC) has endorsed a set of guidelines on monitoring of hotels, lodges, restaurants and other public resthouses as well as readymade food joints. This decision was made on November 6 by a meeting of the Council headed by Lekh Raj Bhatta, Minister for Commerce and Supplies.</p>

	According to the directive, the eateries are required to display the price list at a publicly visible location inside the shop and to maintain standard sanitation on the kitchen, eating area and the toilet. According to the directive, the monitoring officials after inspection will issue card of different colours to the hotels and restaurants. The colours will represent the level of standards maintained. –Accordingly, the green will be for 80 per cent and above of the standard, blue for less than 80 per cent and yellow for less than 40 per cent.</p>

	Businesses that run without license will be slapped up to five years of imprisonment or fined Rs 100,000. If a consumers faces long term health problems from consumption of unhealthy food in a restaqurant, such service providers will be sent for 15 years of imprisonment or fined Rs 500,000 or both.  &nbsp;</p>',

	Targeting the investment year 2012/13, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) is planning to bring medium-term economic development strategy with 50 new projects. </p>
<p>
	The strategy is expected to attract large investors in the country during the investment year. According to Hemant Dawadi, Director General of FNCCI, the federation is preparing profiles of the projects. This is the first time that FNCCI is preparing such an extensive strategy paper for large projects. Dawadi said that the projects will be mainly in hydropower, tourism, education, health, agriculture, infrastructure development, cement and consumer goods.</p>
<p>
	Such profiles will include the investment opportunities in the respective field, the government policy for the same as well as the constraints in the realisation of the opportunities. According to Dawadi, once the projects are developed, investors will be searched in China, India, America and European countries by mobilising support from the business chambers in the respective countries. FNCCI says it has plan to set up an information centre with its own investment within three years. &nbsp;</p>',

	Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has started a special system for block trading from November 15. Trading of more than one per cent of the listed shares of a company is defined as ‘block trading’, according to NEPSE. For such trading, NEPSE has introduced a separate window in its automated trading system. The first deal recorded in NEPSE under the new system was the sale of 1,020,144 units of shares in Hotel Soaltee Limited by India’s hospitality industry major Oberoi Hotels to Nepal’s investment company Shivcream Land and Industries Company.</p>
<p>
	With this Oberoi has made final exit from Soaltee. With the new system, buyers and sellers of large quantity of shares of a company can negotiate the price outside the NEPSE and bring the deal to NEPSE for record purpose. Thus the parties to such deals can now pay the commission on the basis of the actual deal value. Earlier, as the deals were recorded by NEPSE on the current market price, the parties were forced to pay a high commission. </p>
<p>
	NEPSE hopes, this new system will make it easier for the large shareholders, such as foreign direct investors to exit from a company. According to Nepse, the Soaltee deal was signed between the parties on September 14 and the price agreed was Rs. 140 per share. The Face value of Soaltee’s shares is Rs. 10 per unit. The latest trading price of Soaltee’s shares before November 15 was Rs. 186. With the exit of Oberoi, Soaltee now has Holiday Inn International as the only foreign shareholder. &nbsp;</p>',

However, Nepal has slipped 19 steps down in the international rankings, shows this year's report. Human Development Report . This year's Human Development Report titled, Equity and Sustainability:</p>

	A Better Future for All places Nepal 157th out of 187 countries. Nepal was ranked 138th out of 169 countries in 2010, which was five slots higher than in 2005. HDI is calculated as an average of the literacy rate, life expectancy and per capita income of the respective country. An improvement in any of these indicators helps improve the HDI. The report in 2010 had listed Nepal among the 10 countries that made most significant progress in HDI because of improvement in health and education.</p>
<p>
	Development progress in the world's poorest countries could be halted or even reversed by mid-century unless bold steps are taken now to slow climate change, prevent further environmental damage, and reduce deep inequalities within and among nations, reads the report. The report says that environment can only be saved if the growing energy demand can be managed and with improvement in ecology, education, health, income, and gender equality. Norway, Australia and the Netherlands lead the world in the 2011 HDI while Democratic Republic of Congo, Niger and Burundi are at the bottom of the list. Similarly, China stands at 101 and India in 134th position. China and India were ranked 89 and 119 respectively in 2010. ï</p>',

	The Consumer Protection Council (CPC) has endorsed a set of guidelines on monitoring of hotels, lodges, restaurants and other public resthouses as well as readymade food joints. This decision was made on November 6 by a meeting of the Council headed by Lekh Raj Bhatta, Minister for Commerce and Supplies.</p>

	According to the directive, the eateries are required to display the price list at a publicly visible location inside the shop and to maintain standard sanitation on the kitchen, eating area and the toilet. According to the directive, the monitoring officials after inspection will issue card of different colours to the hotels and restaurants. The colours will represent the level of standards maintained. –Accordingly, the green will be for 80 per cent and above of the standard, blue for less than 80 per cent and yellow for less than 40 per cent.</p>

	Businesses that run without license will be slapped up to five years of imprisonment or fined Rs 100,000. If a consumers faces long term health problems from consumption of unhealthy food in a restaqurant, such service providers will be sent for 15 years of imprisonment or fined Rs 500,000 or both.  &nbsp;</p>',

	Targeting the investment year 2012/13, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) is planning to bring medium-term economic development strategy with 50 new projects. </p>
<p>
	The strategy is expected to attract large investors in the country during the investment year. According to Hemant Dawadi, Director General of FNCCI, the federation is preparing profiles of the projects. This is the first time that FNCCI is preparing such an extensive strategy paper for large projects. Dawadi said that the projects will be mainly in hydropower, tourism, education, health, agriculture, infrastructure development, cement and consumer goods.</p>
<p>
	Such profiles will include the investment opportunities in the respective field, the government policy for the same as well as the constraints in the realisation of the opportunities. According to Dawadi, once the projects are developed, investors will be searched in China, India, America and European countries by mobilising support from the business chambers in the respective countries. FNCCI says it has plan to set up an information centre with its own investment within three years. &nbsp;</p>',

	Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has started a special system for block trading from November 15. Trading of more than one per cent of the listed shares of a company is defined as ‘block trading’, according to NEPSE. For such trading, NEPSE has introduced a separate window in its automated trading system. The first deal recorded in NEPSE under the new system was the sale of 1,020,144 units of shares in Hotel Soaltee Limited by India’s hospitality industry major Oberoi Hotels to Nepal’s investment company Shivcream Land and Industries Company.</p>
<p>
	With this Oberoi has made final exit from Soaltee. With the new system, buyers and sellers of large quantity of shares of a company can negotiate the price outside the NEPSE and bring the deal to NEPSE for record purpose. Thus the parties to such deals can now pay the commission on the basis of the actual deal value. Earlier, as the deals were recorded by NEPSE on the current market price, the parties were forced to pay a high commission. </p>
<p>
	NEPSE hopes, this new system will make it easier for the large shareholders, such as foreign direct investors to exit from a company. According to Nepse, the Soaltee deal was signed between the parties on September 14 and the price agreed was Rs. 140 per share. The Face value of Soaltee’s shares is Rs. 10 per unit. The latest trading price of Soaltee’s shares before November 15 was Rs. 186. With the exit of Oberoi, Soaltee now has Holiday Inn International as the only foreign shareholder. &nbsp;</p>',

	A Better Future for All places Nepal 157th out of 187 countries. Nepal was ranked 138th out of 169 countries in 2010, which was five slots higher than in 2005. HDI is calculated as an average of the literacy rate, life expectancy and per capita income of the respective country. An improvement in any of these indicators helps improve the HDI. The report in 2010 had listed Nepal among the 10 countries that made most significant progress in HDI because of improvement in health and education.</p>
<p>
	Development progress in the world's poorest countries could be halted or even reversed by mid-century unless bold steps are taken now to slow climate change, prevent further environmental damage, and reduce deep inequalities within and among nations, reads the report. The report says that environment can only be saved if the growing energy demand can be managed and with improvement in ecology, education, health, income, and gender equality. Norway, Australia and the Netherlands lead the world in the 2011 HDI while Democratic Republic of Congo, Niger and Burundi are at the bottom of the list. Similarly, China stands at 101 and India in 134th position. China and India were ranked 89 and 119 respectively in 2010. ï</p>',

	The Consumer Protection Council (CPC) has endorsed a set of guidelines on monitoring of hotels, lodges, restaurants and other public resthouses as well as readymade food joints. 	Targeting the investment year 2012/13, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) is planning to bring medium-term economic development strategy with 50 new projects. </p>

	The strategy is expected to attract large investors in the country during the investment year. According to Hemant Dawadi, Director General of FNCCI, the federation is preparing profiles of the projects. This is the first time that FNCCI is preparing such an extensive strategy paper for large projects. Dawadi said that the projects will be mainly in hydropower, tourism, education, health, agriculture, infrastructure development, cement and consumer goods.</p>

	Such profiles will include the investment opportunities in the respective field, the government policy for the same as well as the constraints in the realisation of the opportunities. According to Dawadi, once the projects are developed, investors will be searched in China, India, America and European countries by mobilising support from the business chambers in the respective countries. 	Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has started a special system for block trading from November 15. Trading of more than one per cent of the listed shares of a company is defined as ‘block trading’, according to NEPSE. For such trading, NEPSE has introduced a separate window in its automated trading system. The first deal recorded in NEPSE under the new system was the sale of 1,020,144 units of shares in Hotel Soaltee Limited by India’s hospitality industry major Oberoi Hotels to Nepal’s investment company Shivcream Land and Industries Company.</p>
<p>
	With this Oberoi has made final exit from Soaltee. With the new system, buyers and sellers of large quantity of shares of a company can negotiate the price outside the NEPSE and bring the deal to NEPSE for record purpose. Thus the parties to such deals can now pay the commission on the basis of the actual deal value. Earlier, as the deals were recorded by NEPSE on the current market price, the parties were forced to pay a high commission. </p>
<p>
	NEPSE hopes, this new system will make it easier for the large shareholders, such as foreign direct investors to exit from a company. According to Nepse, the Soaltee deal was signed between the parties on September 14 and the price agreed was Rs. 140 per share. The Face value of Soaltee’s shares is Rs. 10 per unit. The latest trading price of Soaltee’s shares before November 15 was Rs. 186. With the exit of Oberoi, Soaltee now has Holiday Inn International as the only foreign shareholder. &nbsp;</p>',

HDI is calculated as an average of the literacy rate, life expectancy and per capita income of the respective country. An improvement in any of these indicators helps improve the HDI. The report in 2010 had listed Nepal among the 10 countries that made most significant progress in HDI because of improvement in health and education.</p>

	Development progress in the world's poorest countries could be halted or even reversed by mid-century unless bold steps are taken now to slow climate change, prevent further environmental damage, and reduce deep inequalities within and among nations, reads the report. The report says that environment can only be saved if the growing energy demand can be managed and with improvement in ecology, education, health, income, and gender equality. Norway, Australia and the Netherlands lead the world in the 2011 HDI while Democratic Republic of Congo, Niger and Burundi are at the bottom of the list. Similarly, China stands at 101 and India in 134th position. China and India were ranked 89 and 119 respectively in 2010. ï</p>',

	The Consumer Protection Council (CPC) has endorsed a set of guidelines on monitoring of hotels, lodges, restaurants and other public resthouses as well as readymade food joints. This decision was made on November 6 by a meeting of the Council headed by Lekh Raj Bhatta, Minister for Commerce and Supplies.</p>
<p>
	According to the directive, the eateries are required to display the price list at a publicly visible location inside the shop and to maintain standard sanitation on the kitchen, eating area and the toilet. According to the directive, the monitoring officials after inspection will issue card of different colours to the hotels and restaurants. The colours will represent the level of standards maintained. –Accordingly, the green will be for 80 per cent and above of the standard, blue for less than 80 per cent and yellow for less than 40 per cent.</p>
<p>
	Businesses that run without license will be slapped up to five years of imprisonment or fined Rs 100,000. If a consumers faces long term health problems from consumption of unhealthy food in a restaqurant, such service providers will be sent for 15 years of imprisonment or fined Rs 500,000 or both.  &nbsp;</p>',
