			'content' => '<p>August 24: General insurance companies have paid 70 percent of the total claim amount after the devastating earthquake of the last year as per the Insurance Board (IB). The percentage of claim amount has been made by 15 general insurance companies operating in Nepal by the end of the last FY. &ldquo;The settlement of 70 percent of the total insurance claim amount within a year is satisfactory,&rdquo; said Raju Raman Poudel, Director of IB. The claim amount equivalents 91 percent of the total number of claims received by the general insurance companies. The general insurance companies received a total of 17,840 claims after the earthquake among which 16,286 claims were verified for payment.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the IB statistics, insurance companies received claims for the compensation worth Rs 16.17 billion under which they have paid Rs 11.75 billion by the end of the last FY. Moreover, the board informed that the insurance companies received Rs 6.79 billion compensation due from the claim amount paid from the re-insurance companies during the period. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

The board exemplify that the insurance companies has paid the claim amount under various headings. The highest amount of insurance claim has been paid under fire insurance coverage which was Rs 7.79 billion. Similarly, Rs 170.8 million has been paid under vehicle insurance claims followed by engineering claims of Rs 630 million. Likewise, Rs 3.46 billion has been paid under miscellaneous heading. During the period, the lowest claim amount is paid under marine insurance of Rs 400,000.</p>

Although insurance companies have paid insurance claim amount to the majority of policy holders, big and complicated insurance claims are still waiting to be settled. The board clarified that among the total number of insurance claim made 999 claims submitted at insurance companies are big, controversial and complicated. The companies have not been able to receive survey reports of these claims till date. These big companies include apartments, shopping malls and hydropower companies. &ldquo;The big companies&rsquo; claim are bit complicated, thus will be settled after some times,&rdquo; said Poudel. Among the total claims received by the insurance companies, Himalayan General Insurance Company received the highest amount of the claims of Rs 3.73 billion whereas Rastriya Beema Sanstha received the insurance claim of the least amount. Rastriya Beema Sanstha received a total number of 166 claims for Rs 72.2 million.&nbsp;</p>

In the previous FY, BFIs earned Rs 4.47 billion from foreign exchange transaction. The figure is derived based on the annual financial statements published by 29 BFIs. Foreign exchange transactions of the BFIs have increased by 35.15 percent during the final quarter of the last FY.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">After the last year&rsquo;s devastating earthquake, the nation received significant amount of foreign exchange as an aid from various countries, donor agencies, charitable organisations and Nepalis resided in foreign countries. Apart of these, the increase in migrating labour force from Nepal has also contributed significantly in the increase of foreign exchange transaction in the form of remittance. According to bankers, these facts have attributed in the growth of foreign exchange transaction along with the income from it. Similarly, the exchange rate of Nepali currency against a US Dollar in the last year fell to the lowest level to Rs 112 which also increased the foreign exchange earnings of BFIs.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">During the last FY, Standard Chartered Bank earned the maximum amount of Rs 621.6 million from foreign exchange transaction. It is 1.25 percent growth than the previous FY which was Rs 613.9 million. Similarly, Himalayan Bank earned Rs 603 million income from the foreign exchange from earlier Rs 474.3 million. Meanwhile, Nepal Bank increased the foreign exchange income by 330 percent which is the highest among the commercial banks. Likewise, 21 BFIs have earned Rs 100 million above income through the foreign exchange transaction whereas 8 BFIs have earned under Rs 100 million.&nbsp;</p>

The data shows that the number of telephone users from various telecommunication companies increased by 3 million (3,016,300) during the period. Although the telecom service providers are in steep competition in increasing the number of customers, the competitive efforts for improving quality and services are not seen.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&quot;There has been drastic increase in number of users with the expansion of service network in urban and rural areas as well as increase in number of customers in urban areas,&quot; mention Min Bahadur Aryal, Spokesperson of Nepal Telecommunication Authority.</p>

<p>Among all telecommunication companies, Nepal Telecom is in the first position in increasing the number of customers. Nepal Telecom has expanded its services to 1,790,278 new customers within one year. Similarly, Ncell is in second position in increasing number of customers with 1,120,089 added customers during the period. Likewise, last year, both the companies had around equivalent market share. Whereas, this year, the market share of Nepal Telecom has increased by 2 percent and Ncell&#39;s market share decreased by 1 percent.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to the SEBON directive, DPs should submit the application and document received from investors for dematerialization of securities to share registrar within seven days. After that, the share registrars should dematerialise the share certificates within three days after examining the documents and inform the depository participants.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">As per the directive, the registrars need to make sure that investors receive their bonus&nbsp;and right shares in their beneficiary accounts within three days from the listing of those shares on the stock market. SEBON has also instructed brokerage firms having DP licenses not to make mandatory for their&nbsp;investors to open account in their&nbsp;own firms. &nbsp;Moreover, banks and financial institutions (BFIs) working as depository participants have been asked not to force investors to open accounts from their&nbsp;branch offices in order to do financial transactions.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Additionally, SEBON has also directed the depository participants and share registrars not to disclose user identification and password with unconcerned individuals.SEBON has provided investors with its hotline (1660-01-44433) to file complaints if depository participants and share registrars cause any delay.</p>

The percentage of claim amount has been made by 15 general insurance companies operating in Nepal by the end of the last FY. &ldquo;The settlement of 70 percent of the total insurance claim amount within a year is satisfactory,&rdquo; said Raju Raman Poudel, Director of IB. The claim amount equivalents 91 percent of the total number of claims received by the general insurance companies. The general insurance companies received a total of 17,840 claims after the earthquake among which 16,286 claims were verified for payment.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the IB statistics, insurance companies received claims for the compensation worth Rs 16.17 billion under which they have paid Rs 11.75 billion by the end of the last FY. Moreover, the board informed that the insurance companies received Rs 6.79 billion compensation due from the claim amount paid from the re-insurance companies during the period. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

The board exemplify that the insurance companies has paid the claim amount under various headings. The highest amount of insurance claim has been paid under fire insurance coverage which was Rs 7.79 billion. Similarly, Rs 170.8 million has been paid under vehicle insurance claims followed by engineering claims of Rs 630 million. Likewise, Rs 3.46 billion has been paid under miscellaneous heading. During the period, the lowest claim amount is paid under marine insurance of Rs 400,000.</p>

Although insurance companies have paid insurance claim amount to the majority of policy holders, big and complicated insurance claims are still waiting to be settled. The board clarified that among the total number of insurance claim made 999 claims submitted at insurance companies are big, controversial and complicated. The companies have not been able to receive survey reports of these claims till date. These big companies include apartments, shopping malls and hydropower companies. &ldquo;The big companies&rsquo; claim are bit complicated, thus will be settled after some times,&rdquo; said Poudel. Among the total claims received by the insurance companies, Himalayan General Insurance Company received the highest amount of the claims of Rs 3.73 billion whereas Rastriya Beema Sanstha received the insurance claim of the least amount. Rastriya Beema Sanstha received a total number of 166 claims for Rs 72.2 million.&nbsp;</p>

In the previous FY, BFIs earned Rs 4.47 billion from foreign exchange transaction. The figure is derived based on the annual financial statements published by 29 BFIs. Foreign exchange transactions of the BFIs have increased by 35.15 percent during the final quarter of the last FY.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">After the last year&rsquo;s devastating earthquake, the nation received significant amount of foreign exchange as an aid from various countries, donor agencies, charitable organisations and Nepalis resided in foreign countries. Apart of these, the increase in migrating labour force from Nepal has also contributed significantly in the increase of foreign exchange transaction in the form of remittance. According to bankers, these facts have attributed in the growth of foreign exchange transaction along with the income from it. Similarly, the exchange rate of Nepali currency against a US Dollar in the last year fell to the lowest level to Rs 112 which also increased the foreign exchange earnings of BFIs.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">During the last FY, Standard Chartered Bank earned the maximum amount of Rs 621.6 million from foreign exchange transaction. It is 1.25 percent growth than the previous FY which was Rs 613.9 million. Similarly, Himalayan Bank earned Rs 603 million income from the foreign exchange from earlier Rs 474.3 million. Meanwhile, Nepal Bank increased the foreign exchange income by 330 percent which is the highest among the commercial banks. Likewise, 21 BFIs have earned Rs 100 million above income through the foreign exchange transaction whereas 8 BFIs have earned under Rs 100 million.&nbsp;</p>

Although the telecom service providers are in steep competition in increasing the number of customers, the competitive efforts for improving quality and services are not seen.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to the SEBON directive, DPs should submit the application and document received from investors for dematerialization of securities to share registrar within seven days. After that, the share registrars should dematerialise the share certificates within three days after examining the documents and inform the depository participants.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">As per the directive, the registrars need to make sure that investors receive their bonus&nbsp;and right shares in their beneficiary accounts within three days from the listing of those shares on the stock market. SEBON has also instructed brokerage firms having DP licenses not to make mandatory for their&nbsp;investors to open account in their&nbsp;own firms. &nbsp;Moreover, banks and financial institutions (BFIs) working as depository participants have been asked not to force investors to open accounts from their&nbsp;branch offices in order to do financial transactions.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Additionally, SEBON has also directed the depository participants and share registrars not to disclose user identification and password with unconcerned individuals.SEBON has provided investors with its hotline (1660-01-44433) to file complaints if depository participants and share registrars cause any delay.</p>

The percentage of claim amount has been made by 15 general insurance companies operating in Nepal by the end of the last FY. &ldquo;The settlement of 70 percent of the total insurance claim amount within a year is satisfactory,&rdquo; said Raju Raman Poudel, Director of IB. The claim amount equivalents 91 percent of the total number of claims received by the general insurance companies. The general insurance companies received a total of 17,840 claims after the earthquake among which 16,286 claims were verified for payment.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the IB statistics, insurance companies received claims for the compensation worth Rs 16.17 billion under which they have paid Rs 11.75 billion by the end of the last FY. Moreover, the board informed that the insurance companies received Rs 6.79 billion compensation due from the claim amount paid from the re-insurance companies during the period. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

The board exemplify that the insurance companies has paid the claim amount under various headings. The highest amount of insurance claim has been paid under fire insurance coverage which was Rs 7.79 billion. Similarly, Rs 170.8 million has been paid under vehicle insurance claims followed by engineering claims of Rs 630 million. Likewise, Rs 3.46 billion has been paid under miscellaneous heading. During the period, the lowest claim amount is paid under marine insurance of Rs 400,000.</p>

Although insurance companies have paid insurance claim amount to the majority of policy holders, big and complicated insurance claims are still waiting to be settled. The board clarified that among the total number of insurance claim made 999 claims submitted at insurance companies are big, controversial and complicated. The companies have not been able to receive survey reports of these claims till date. These big companies include apartments, shopping malls and hydropower companies. &ldquo;The big companies&rsquo; claim are bit complicated, thus will be settled after some times,&rdquo; said Poudel. Among the total claims received by the insurance companies, Himalayan General Insurance Company received the highest amount of the claims of Rs 3.73 billion whereas Rastriya Beema Sanstha received the insurance claim of the least amount. Rastriya Beema Sanstha received a total number of 166 claims for Rs 72.2 million.&nbsp;</p>

Foreign exchange transactions of the BFIs have increased by 35.15 percent during the final quarter of the last FY.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">After the last year&rsquo;s devastating earthquake, the nation received significant amount of foreign exchange as an aid from various countries, donor agencies, charitable organisations and Nepalis resided in foreign countries. Apart of these, the increase in migrating labour force from Nepal has also contributed significantly in the increase of foreign exchange transaction in the form of remittance. According to bankers, these facts have attributed in the growth of foreign exchange transaction along with the income from it. Similarly, the exchange rate of Nepali currency against a US Dollar in the last year fell to the lowest level to Rs 112 which also increased the foreign exchange earnings of BFIs.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">During the last FY, Standard Chartered Bank earned the maximum amount of Rs 621.6 million from foreign exchange transaction. It is 1.25 percent growth than the previous FY which was Rs 613.9 million. Similarly, Himalayan Bank earned Rs 603 million income from the foreign exchange from earlier Rs 474.3 million. Meanwhile, Nepal Bank increased the foreign exchange income by 330 percent which is the highest among the commercial banks. Likewise, 21 BFIs have earned Rs 100 million above income through the foreign exchange transaction whereas 8 BFIs have earned under Rs 100 million.&nbsp;</p>

Although the telecom service providers are in steep competition in increasing the number of customers, the competitive efforts for improving quality and services are not seen.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to the SEBON directive, DPs should submit the application and document received from investors for dematerialization of securities to share registrar within seven days. After that, the share registrars should dematerialise the share certificates within three days after examining the documents and inform the depository participants.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">As per the directive, the registrars need to make sure that investors receive their bonus&nbsp;and right shares in their beneficiary accounts within three days from the listing of those shares on the stock market. SEBON has also instructed brokerage firms having DP licenses not to make mandatory for their&nbsp;investors to open account in their&nbsp;own firms. &nbsp;Moreover, banks and financial institutions (BFIs) working as depository participants have been asked not to force investors to open accounts from their&nbsp;branch offices in order to do financial transactions.</p>

The percentage of claim amount has been made by 15 general insurance companies operating in Nepal by the end of the last FY. &ldquo;The settlement of 70 percent of the total insurance claim amount within a year is satisfactory,&rdquo; said Raju Raman Poudel, Director of IB. The claim amount equivalents 91 percent of the total number of claims received by the general insurance companies. The general insurance companies received a total of 17,840 claims after the earthquake among which 16,286 claims were verified for payment.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to the IB statistics, insurance companies received claims for the compensation worth Rs 16.17 billion under which they have paid Rs 11.75 billion by the end of the last FY. Moreover, the board informed that the insurance companies received Rs 6.79 billion compensation due from the claim amount paid from the re-insurance companies during the period. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

The board exemplify that the insurance companies has paid the claim amount under various headings. The highest amount of insurance claim has been paid under fire insurance coverage which was Rs 7.79 billion. Similarly, Rs 170.8 million has been paid under vehicle insurance claims followed by engineering claims of Rs 630 million. Likewise, Rs 3.46 billion has been paid under miscellaneous heading. During the period, the lowest claim amount is paid under marine insurance of Rs 400,000.</p>

Although insurance companies have paid insurance claim amount to the majority of policy holders, big and complicated insurance claims are still waiting to be settled. The board clarified that among the total number of insurance claim made 999 claims submitted at insurance companies are big, controversial and complicated. The companies have not been able to receive survey reports of these claims till date. These big companies include apartments, shopping malls and hydropower companies. &ldquo;The big companies&rsquo; claim are bit complicated, thus will be settled after some times,&rdquo; said Poudel. Among the total claims received by the insurance companies, Himalayan General Insurance Company received the highest amount of the claims of Rs 3.73 billion whereas Rastriya Beema Sanstha received the insurance claim of the least amount. Rastriya Beema Sanstha received a total number of 166 claims for Rs 72.2 million.&nbsp;</p>

In the previous FY, BFIs earned Rs 4.47 billion from foreign exchange transaction. The figure is derived based on the annual financial statements published by 29 BFIs. Foreign exchange transactions of the BFIs have increased by 35.15 percent during the final quarter of the last FY.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">After the last year&rsquo;s devastating earthquake, the nation received significant amount of foreign exchange as an aid from various countries, donor agencies, charitable organisations and Nepalis resided in foreign countries. Apart of these, the increase in migrating labour force from Nepal has also contributed significantly in the increase of foreign exchange transaction in the form of remittance. According to bankers, these facts have attributed in the growth of foreign exchange transaction along with the income from it. Similarly, the exchange rate of Nepali currency against a US Dollar in the last year fell to the lowest level to Rs 112 which also increased the foreign exchange earnings of BFIs.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">During the last FY, Standard Chartered Bank earned the maximum amount of Rs 621.6 million from foreign exchange transaction. It is 1.25 percent growth than the previous FY which was Rs 613.9 million. Similarly, Himalayan Bank earned Rs 603 million income from the foreign exchange from earlier Rs 474.3 million. Meanwhile, Nepal Bank increased the foreign exchange income by 330 percent which is the highest among the commercial banks. Likewise, 21 BFIs have earned Rs 100 million above income through the foreign exchange transaction whereas 8 BFIs have earned under Rs 100 million.&nbsp;</p>

The data shows that the number of telephone users from various telecommunication companies increased by 3 million (3,016,300) during the period. Although the telecom service providers are in steep competition in increasing the number of customers, the competitive efforts for improving quality and services are not seen.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&quot;There has been drastic increase in number of users with the expansion of service network in urban and rural areas as well as increase in number of customers in urban areas,&quot; mention Min Bahadur Aryal, Spokesperson of Nepal Telecommunication Authority.</p>

<p>Among all telecommunication companies, Nepal Telecom is in the first position in increasing the number of customers. Nepal Telecom has expanded its services to 1,790,278 new customers within one year. Similarly, Ncell is in second position in increasing number of customers with 1,120,089 added customers during the period. Likewise, last year, both the companies had around equivalent market share. <p style="text-align:justify">According to the SEBON directive, DPs should submit the application and document received from investors for dematerialization of securities to share registrar within seven days. After that, the share registrars should dematerialise the share certificates within three days after examining the documents and inform the depository participants.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">As per the directive, the registrars need to make sure that investors receive their bonus&nbsp;and right shares in their beneficiary accounts within three days from the listing of those shares on the stock market. SEBON has also instructed brokerage firms having DP licenses not to make mandatory for their&nbsp;investors to open account in their&nbsp;own firms. &nbsp;Moreover, banks and financial institutions (BFIs) working as depository participants have been asked not to force investors to open accounts from their&nbsp;branch offices in order to do financial transactions.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Additionally, SEBON has also directed the depository participants and share registrars not to disclose user identification and password with unconcerned individuals.SEBON has provided investors with its hotline (1660-01-44433) to file complaints if depository participants and share registrars cause any delay.</p>

<p>&ldquo;NADA Auto Show 2016 is an excellent platform for automobile dealers and automotive component dealers and suppliers for the presentation of new products and technologies as well as for the exchange of information and the establishment of new business contacts,&rdquo; informed company organising a press conference on August 21.</p>

<p>&nbsp;The Show will house around 125 stalls and blocks occupied by 73 exhibitors including local as well as international brands, products and services. This edition will have 16 brands of 4-wheelers, 15 brands of 2-wheelers and 5 brands of heavy commercial. Estimated 50000 guests and auto enthusiasts from all over Nepal are expected to visit the Show.</p>

<p>Famous auto brands in 4-wheeler section such as Datsun, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mahindra, MG, Nissan, Renault, Skoda, Suzuki, TATA, Toyota, Volkswagen, Ssangyong; in heavy commercial section such as Ashok Leyland, Eicher, Escorts, Mahindra, TATA and in 2-wheeler section such as Bajaj, Bela, Benelli, Hero, Honda, KTM, Mahindra, Royal Enfield, Runner, Scomadi, Suzuki, TVS, UM, Vespa, Yamaha will be an eclectic variants for the visitors of different age and need group.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The exhibition will also have stalls of financial institutions, new technological developments, auto safety technology, spare parts, lubricants, tyre, generator, garage equipments, batteries and other accessories. Nepal made automotive products will also be seen in the exhibition,&rdquo; added organisers in the press conference.</p>
