The government has decided to invest Rs 146.5 million as a loan for making the state owned company as per the international standard. &nbsp;&ldquo;The investment will be used to make international standard physical infrastructure along with purchasing required machineries and tools for the company,&rdquo; said Nabindra Raj Joshi, Industry Minister. According to him, around 70 per cent machines are in proper condition. &ldquo;We will hire some experts on contract from open competition to handel the management of the company for a while,&rdquo; he added.&nbsp;</p>

The government has also decided to engage the private sector in the company. Minister Joshi informed that discussion on the plan in which assigning management to the private sector in contract and also to sell fixed equity to them is being conducted. &nbsp;&ldquo;We are planning to sell 1/3 of the total shares to the private sector keeping two third of the share under government&rsquo;s ownership,&rdquo; he said adding &ldquo;The Ministry is exercising in a bid to operate the company as soon as possible.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

According to Ministry, NDL will produce essential medicines on the first term. Joshi said that there will be no market problem for those medicines as the government itself will buy such medicines.&nbsp;</p>

Earlier, the company was producing 120 kinds of medicines till 2060 BS. However, due to political interference, its condition got deteriorated slowly.&nbsp;<br />
&ldquo;NDL has planned to repay the loans when the company comes into full operation. Thus, the government may not have to invest more capital on it,&rdquo; said Ramesh Kumar Nimitta, General Manager of NDL.&nbsp;<br />

As per the existing&nbsp;provision, the minimum paid-up capital for&nbsp;life insurance company and non-life insurance company are&nbsp;Rs 500 million and Rs 250 million respectively.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;However, insurance companies are preparing themselves for the big jump on paid-up capital as they might not be able to meet the minimum paid-up capital of Rs 4 billion for non-life and Rs 5 billion for life insurance companies immediately as being prepared by Insurance board,&rdquo; he opined. The board has sent an initial draft of Insurance Act including such provision to Finance Ministry for discussion fifteen months ago.</p>

<p>Considering the to be soon implementing Insurance Act and demand of the market, Himalayan General Insurance has already prepared a capital increment plan. Bajracharya informed that Himalayan will increase its paid-up capital by 220 percent by issuing right shares. &ldquo;We are submitting a proposal to issue 1:2.2 right shares in the upcoming annual general meeting on September 23.&nbsp; Upon the endorsement of the proposal and issuance of right shares, the paid-up capital will reach above Rs 1 billion from current Rs 320 million,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p>Similarly, Nepal Life Insurance is also increasing its paid-up capital considering the widened insurance market, as per Bibek Jha, CEO of the company. Presently, Nepal Life has paid-up capital of Rs 1.73 billon. The company raised its paid-up capital from Rs 500 million to Rs 1.73 billion last year as quoted by IB. &ldquo;It will be difficult to raise the paid-up capital immediately in Nepal due to the limited size of the market,&rsquo; he said.</p>

<p>In the recent time, other insurance companies are also preceding towards paid-up capital increment. In this regard, Surya Life and various other insurance companies have already issued right shares and bonus shares. Stakeholders opined that to increase the paid-up capital reflecting the increase in the size of the market is natural.&nbsp; &ldquo;We are preparing right away because it will be difficult to raise the paid-up capital in large extent within a stipulated time later.&rdquo; Jha said.</p>

<p>Likewise, Prime Life Insurance is also preparing to raise paid-up capital and is planning to announce the detail report within one week. Although most of the companies are in favour of increase in paid-up capital, some are neutral on the idea. &ldquo;There is no necessity to quote the minimum paid-up capital requirement as the paid-up capital is raised as per the company&rsquo;s growth,&rdquo; said an official of United Insurance. Meanwhile, IB has been encouraging merger of the companies citing the inability of single company to meeting the paid-up capital target. The board had issued a merger related directive one and a half years ago.</p>

<p>IB statistics reveals a significant rise in insurance premium of both life and non-life insurance companies annually. According to the financial statement of FY 2072/73, non-life insurance companies have doubled their profits. The total of 17 non-life insurance companies earned Rs 2.47 billion net profit in during the year 2072/73.</p>

<p>The companies earned Rs 1.14 billion net profit in the previous FY which is also two folds more than the previous years. Similarly, 9 life insurance companies operating in the country have earned Rs 747.2 million net profit in the last FY from Rs 603.4 million of the previous FY.&nbsp;</p>

According to him, EPF is committed to extend loan of Rs 25 billion whereas CIT and other private banks have also shown interest to grant the loan.&nbsp;</p>

&ldquo;EPF is not the final loan provider. We can also invite tender for loan,&rdquo; said Shailandra Kansakar, Assistant Spokesperson for NAC. He further said that NAC has many options for loan at present unlike earlier periods. &nbsp;According to him, NAC might take the loans from all including EPF, CIF and private banks without inviting tender. &nbsp;</p>

NAC has not specified the rate of interest for loan taking. As per Kansakar, NAC will select bigger loan providing trusts and banks that will provide long term loans at low interest rate. &nbsp;</p>

EPF has already invested Rs 10 billion on NAC to purchase narrow-body aircraft. EPF said that it is ready to give more loans to NAC due to the government&rsquo;s guarantee for the loan. However, the EPF correspondent to NAC does not disclose the percentage of interest rate for the loan.&nbsp;</p>

&ldquo;NAC is trying finalise the loan procedure within few days,&rdquo; said spokesperson Sharma. NAC is planning to buy two airbuses of 330-200 series with seating capacity of 260 passengers in a bid to strengthen international flights of the country.&nbsp;</p>

Sharma informed that NAC is planning to buy the first airbus in a one year and the second one in the next year. &nbsp;Presently, NAC is operating flights to Dubai of United Arab Emirates (UAE), Doha of Qatar, Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia and Kolkata of India through its Boeing. Similarly, it has also been operating flights to New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore in India.</p>

The government has decided to invest Rs 146.5 million as a loan for making the state owned company as per the international standard. &nbsp;&ldquo;The investment will be used to make international standard physical infrastructure along with purchasing required machineries and tools for the company,&rdquo; said Nabindra Raj Joshi, Industry Minister. According to him, around 70 per cent machines are in proper condition. &ldquo;We will hire some experts on contract from open competition to handel the management of the company for a while,&rdquo; he added.&nbsp;</p>

The government has also decided to engage the private sector in the company. Minister Joshi informed that discussion on the plan in which assigning management to the private sector in contract and also to sell fixed equity to them is being conducted. &nbsp;&ldquo;We are planning to sell 1/3 of the total shares to the private sector keeping two third of the share under government&rsquo;s ownership,&rdquo; he said adding &ldquo;The Ministry is exercising in a bid to operate the company as soon as possible.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

According to Ministry, NDL will produce essential medicines on the first term. Joshi said that there will be no market problem for those medicines as the government itself will buy such medicines.&nbsp;</p>

Earlier, the company was producing 120 kinds of medicines till 2060 BS. However, due to political interference, its condition got deteriorated slowly.&nbsp;<br />
&ldquo;NDL has planned to repay the loans when the company comes into full operation. Thus, the government may not have to invest more capital on it,&rdquo; said Ramesh Kumar Nimitta, General Manager of NDL.&nbsp;<br />

As per the existing&nbsp;provision, the minimum paid-up capital for&nbsp;life insurance company and non-life insurance company are&nbsp;Rs 500 million and Rs 250 million respectively.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;However, insurance companies are preparing themselves for the big jump on paid-up capital as they might not be able to meet the minimum paid-up capital of Rs 4 billion for non-life and Rs 5 billion for life insurance companies immediately as being prepared by Insurance board,&rdquo; he opined. The board has sent an initial draft of Insurance Act including such provision to Finance Ministry for discussion fifteen months ago.</p>

<p>Considering the to be soon implementing Insurance Act and demand of the market, Himalayan General Insurance has already prepared a capital increment plan. Bajracharya informed that Himalayan will increase its paid-up capital by 220 percent by issuing right shares. &ldquo;We are submitting a proposal to issue 1:2.2 right shares in the upcoming annual general meeting on September 23.&nbsp; Upon the endorsement of the proposal and issuance of right shares, the paid-up capital will reach above Rs 1 billion from current Rs 320 million,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p>Similarly, Nepal Life Insurance is also increasing its paid-up capital considering the widened insurance market, as per Bibek Jha, CEO of the company. Presently, Nepal Life has paid-up capital of Rs 1.73 billon. The company raised its paid-up capital from Rs 500 million to Rs 1.73 billion last year as quoted by IB. &ldquo;It will be difficult to raise the paid-up capital immediately in Nepal due to the limited size of the market,&rsquo; he said.</p>

<p>In the recent time, other insurance companies are also preceding towards paid-up capital increment. In this regard, Surya Life and various other insurance companies have already issued right shares and bonus shares. Stakeholders opined that to increase the paid-up capital reflecting the increase in the size of the market is natural.&nbsp; &ldquo;We are preparing right away because it will be difficult to raise the paid-up capital in large extent within a stipulated time later.&rdquo; Jha said.</p>

<p>Likewise, Prime Life Insurance is also preparing to raise paid-up capital and is planning to announce the detail report within one week. Although most of the companies are in favour of increase in paid-up capital, some are neutral on the idea. &ldquo;There is no necessity to quote the minimum paid-up capital requirement as the paid-up capital is raised as per the company&rsquo;s growth,&rdquo; said an official of United Insurance. Meanwhile, IB has been encouraging merger of the companies citing the inability of single company to meeting the paid-up capital target. The board had issued a merger related directive one and a half years ago.</p>

<p>IB statistics reveals a significant rise in insurance premium of both life and non-life insurance companies annually. According to the financial statement of FY 2072/73, non-life insurance companies have doubled their profits. The total of 17 non-life insurance companies earned Rs 2.47 billion net profit in during the year 2072/73.</p>

<p>The companies earned Rs 1.14 billion net profit in the previous FY which is also two folds more than the previous years. Similarly, 9 life insurance companies operating in the country have earned Rs 747.2 million net profit in the last FY from Rs 603.4 million of the previous FY.&nbsp;</p>

According to him, EPF is committed to extend loan of Rs 25 billion whereas CIT and other private banks have also shown interest to grant the loan.&nbsp;</p>

&ldquo;EPF is not the final loan provider. We can also invite tender for loan,&rdquo; said Shailandra Kansakar, Assistant Spokesperson for NAC. He further said that NAC has many options for loan at present unlike earlier periods. &nbsp;According to him, NAC might take the loans from all including EPF, CIF and private banks without inviting tender. &nbsp;</p>

NAC has not specified the rate of interest for loan taking. As per Kansakar, NAC will select bigger loan providing trusts and banks that will provide long term loans at low interest rate. &nbsp;</p>

EPF has already invested Rs 10 billion on NAC to purchase narrow-body aircraft. EPF said that it is ready to give more loans to NAC due to the government&rsquo;s guarantee for the loan. However, the EPF correspondent to NAC does not disclose the percentage of interest rate for the loan.&nbsp;</p>

<p><br />
&ldquo;NAC is trying finalise the loan procedure within few days,&rdquo; said spokesperson Sharma. NAC is planning to buy two airbuses of 330-200 series with seating capacity of 260 passengers in a bid to strengthen international flights of the country.&nbsp;</p>

<p><br />
Sharma informed that NAC is planning to buy the first airbus in a one year and the second one in the next year. &nbsp;Presently, NAC is operating flights to Dubai of United Arab Emirates (UAE), Doha of Qatar, Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia and Kolkata of India through its Boeing. Similarly, it has also been operating flights to New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore in India.</p>

Issuing a press statement, the airline informed of commencing its passenger services on the Kathmandu/Colombo/Kathmandu route with effect from October 1, 2016. The airline will fly its A320-214 (configured with 8 Business Class and 150 Economy class seats) on the new route.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">According to the statement, three flights a week, operating as H9 673, Himalaya will fly every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday departing from Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu at 1130 hours and will arrive in Bandaranaike International Airport, Colombo at 1515 hours. The return H9 674 departs from Colombo at 1615, arriving Kathmandu at 2015 hours on the same day.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&ldquo;After an overwhelming response received from the previous 2 non-scheduled flights to Colombo, we found this route to be very potential. We have observed passenger traffic data between the two countries over the last several years before arriving at this route decision. The government has decided to invest Rs 146.5 million as a loan for making the state owned company as per the international standard. &nbsp;&ldquo;The investment will be used to make international standard physical infrastructure along with purchasing required machineries and tools for the company,&rdquo; said Nabindra Raj Joshi, Industry Minister. According to him, around 70 per cent machines are in proper condition. &ldquo;We will hire some experts on contract from open competition to handel the management of the company for a while,&rdquo; he added.&nbsp;</p>

The government has also decided to engage the private sector in the company. Minister Joshi informed that discussion on the plan in which assigning management to the private sector in contract and also to sell fixed equity to them is being conducted. &nbsp;&ldquo;We are planning to sell 1/3 of the total shares to the private sector keeping two third of the share under government&rsquo;s ownership,&rdquo; he said adding &ldquo;The Ministry is exercising in a bid to operate the company as soon as possible.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

According to Ministry, NDL will produce essential medicines on the first term. Joshi said that there will be no market problem for those medicines as the government itself will buy such medicines.&nbsp;</p>

Earlier, the company was producing 120 kinds of medicines till 2060 BS. However, due to political interference, its condition got deteriorated slowly.&nbsp;<br />
&ldquo;NDL has planned to repay the loans when the company comes into full operation. Thus, the government may not have to invest more capital on it,&rdquo; said Ramesh Kumar Nimitta, General Manager of NDL.&nbsp;<br />

As per the existing&nbsp;provision, the minimum paid-up capital for&nbsp;life insurance company and non-life insurance company are&nbsp;Rs 500 million and Rs 250 million respectively.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;However, insurance companies are preparing themselves for the big jump on paid-up capital as they might not be able to meet the minimum paid-up capital of Rs 4 billion for non-life and Rs 5 billion for life insurance companies immediately as being prepared by Insurance board,&rdquo; he opined. The board has sent an initial draft of Insurance Act including such provision to Finance Ministry for discussion fifteen months ago.</p>

<p>Considering the to be soon implementing Insurance Act and demand of the market, Himalayan General Insurance has already prepared a capital increment plan. Bajracharya informed that Himalayan will increase its paid-up capital by 220 percent by issuing right shares. &ldquo;We are submitting a proposal to issue 1:2.2 right shares in the upcoming annual general meeting on September 23.&nbsp; Upon the endorsement of the proposal and issuance of right shares, the paid-up capital will reach above Rs 1 billion from current Rs 320 million,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p>Similarly, Nepal Life Insurance is also increasing its paid-up capital considering the widened insurance market, as per Bibek Jha, CEO of the company. Presently, Nepal Life has paid-up capital of Rs 1.73 billon. The company raised its paid-up capital from Rs 500 million to Rs 1.73 billion last year as quoted by IB. &ldquo;It will be difficult to raise the paid-up capital immediately in Nepal due to the limited size of the market,&rsquo; he said.</p>

<p>In the recent time, other insurance companies are also preceding towards paid-up capital increment. In this regard, Surya Life and various other insurance companies have already issued right shares and bonus shares. Stakeholders opined that to increase the paid-up capital reflecting the increase in the size of the market is natural.&nbsp; &ldquo;We are preparing right away because it will be difficult to raise the paid-up capital in large extent within a stipulated time later.&rdquo; Jha said.</p>

<p>Likewise, Prime Life Insurance is also preparing to raise paid-up capital and is planning to announce the detail report within one week. Although most of the companies are in favour of increase in paid-up capital, some are neutral on the idea. &ldquo;There is no necessity to quote the minimum paid-up capital requirement as the paid-up capital is raised as per the company&rsquo;s growth,&rdquo; said an official of United Insurance. Meanwhile, IB has been encouraging merger of the companies citing the inability of single company to meeting the paid-up capital target. The board had issued a merger related directive one and a half years ago.</p>

<p>IB statistics reveals a significant rise in insurance premium of both life and non-life insurance companies annually. According to the financial statement of FY 2072/73, non-life insurance companies have doubled their profits. The total of 17 non-life insurance companies earned Rs 2.47 billion net profit in during the year 2072/73.</p>

<p>The companies earned Rs 1.14 billion net profit in the previous FY which is also two folds more than the previous years. Similarly, 9 life insurance companies operating in the country have earned Rs 747.2 million net profit in the last FY from Rs 603.4 million of the previous FY.&nbsp;</p>

According to him, EPF is committed to extend loan of Rs 25 billion whereas CIT and other private banks have also shown interest to grant the loan.&nbsp;</p>

&ldquo;EPF is not the final loan provider. We can also invite tender for loan,&rdquo; said Shailandra Kansakar, Assistant Spokesperson for NAC. He further said that NAC has many options for loan at present unlike earlier periods. &nbsp;According to him, NAC might take the loans from all including EPF, CIF and private banks without inviting tender. &nbsp;</p>

NAC has not specified the rate of interest for loan taking. As per Kansakar, NAC will select bigger loan providing trusts and banks that will provide long term loans at low interest rate. &nbsp;</p>

EPF has already invested Rs 10 billion on NAC to purchase narrow-body aircraft. EPF said that it is ready to give more loans to NAC due to the government&rsquo;s guarantee for the loan. However, the EPF correspondent to NAC does not disclose the percentage of interest rate for the loan.&nbsp;</p>

&ldquo;NAC is trying finalise the loan procedure within few days,&rdquo; said spokesperson Sharma. NAC is planning to buy two airbuses of 330-200 series with seating capacity of 260 passengers in a bid to strengthen international flights of the country.&nbsp;</p>

Sharma informed that NAC is planning to buy the first airbus in a one year and the second one in the next year. &nbsp;Presently, NAC is operating flights to Dubai of United Arab Emirates (UAE), Doha of Qatar, Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia and Kolkata of India through its Boeing. Similarly, it has also been operating flights to New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore in India.</p>

The government has decided to invest Rs 146.5 million as a loan for making the state owned company as per the international standard. &nbsp;&ldquo;The investment will be used to make international standard physical infrastructure along with purchasing required machineries and tools for the company,&rdquo; said Nabindra Raj Joshi, Industry Minister. According to him, around 70 per cent machines are in proper condition. &ldquo;We will hire some experts on contract from open competition to handel the management of the company for a while,&rdquo; he added.&nbsp;</p>

The government has also decided to engage the private sector in the company. Minister Joshi informed that discussion on the plan in which assigning management to the private sector in contract and also to sell fixed equity to them is being conducted. &nbsp;&ldquo;We are planning to sell 1/3 of the total shares to the private sector keeping two third of the share under government&rsquo;s ownership,&rdquo; he said adding &ldquo;The Ministry is exercising in a bid to operate the company as soon as possible.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>

According to Ministry, NDL will produce essential medicines on the first term. Joshi said that there will be no market problem for those medicines as the government itself will buy such medicines.&nbsp;</p>

Earlier, the company was producing 120 kinds of medicines till 2060 BS. However, due to political interference, its condition got deteriorated slowly.&nbsp;<br />
&ldquo;NDL has planned to repay the loans when the company comes into full operation. Thus, the government may not have to invest more capital on it,&rdquo; said Ramesh Kumar Nimitta, General Manager of NDL.&nbsp;<br />

			'content' => '<p>September 20: While the Insurance Board&nbsp;is initiating the procedure to increase paid-up capital of the insurance companies, the companies, meanwhile, are preparing themselves for the raise. &ldquo;As the insurance sector is growing, increase in paid-up capital is required so as to widen the sector furthermore,&rdquo; said Sushil Bajracharya, Chief Executive Officer of Himalayan General Insurance. As per the existing&nbsp;provision, the minimum paid-up capital for&nbsp;life insurance company and non-life insurance company are&nbsp;Rs 500 million and Rs 250 million respectively.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&ldquo;However, insurance companies are preparing themselves for the big jump on paid-up capital as they might not be able to meet the minimum paid-up capital of Rs 4 billion for non-life and Rs 5 billion for life insurance companies immediately as being prepared by Insurance board,&rdquo; he opined. The board has sent an initial draft of Insurance Act including such provision to Finance Ministry for discussion fifteen months ago.</p>

<p>Considering the to be soon implementing Insurance Act and demand of the market, Himalayan General Insurance has already prepared a capital increment plan. Bajracharya informed that Himalayan will increase its paid-up capital by 220 percent by issuing right shares. &ldquo;We are submitting a proposal to issue 1:2.2 right shares in the upcoming annual general meeting on September 23.&nbsp; Upon the endorsement of the proposal and issuance of right shares, the paid-up capital will reach above Rs 1 billion from current Rs 320 million,&rdquo; he added.</p>

<p>Similarly, Nepal Life Insurance is also increasing its paid-up capital considering the widened insurance market, as per Bibek Jha, CEO of the company. Presently, Nepal Life has paid-up capital of Rs 1.73 billon. The company raised its paid-up capital from Rs 500 million to Rs 1.73 billion last year as quoted by IB. &ldquo;It will be difficult to raise the paid-up capital immediately in Nepal due to the limited size of the market,&rsquo; he said.</p>

<p>In the recent time, other insurance companies are also preceding towards paid-up capital increment. In this regard, Surya Life and various other insurance companies have already issued right shares and bonus shares. Stakeholders opined that to increase the paid-up capital reflecting the increase in the size of the market is natural.&nbsp; &ldquo;We are preparing right away because it will be difficult to raise the paid-up capital in large extent within a stipulated time later.&rdquo; Jha said.</p>

<p>Likewise, Prime Life Insurance is also preparing to raise paid-up capital and is planning to announce the detail report within one week. Although most of the companies are in favour of increase in paid-up capital, some are neutral on the idea. &ldquo;There is no necessity to quote the minimum paid-up capital requirement as the paid-up capital is raised as per the company&rsquo;s growth,&rdquo; said an official of United Insurance. Meanwhile, IB has been encouraging merger of the companies citing the inability of single company to meeting the paid-up capital target. The board had issued a merger related directive one and a half years ago.</p>

<p>IB statistics reveals a significant rise in insurance premium of both life and non-life insurance companies annually. According to the financial statement of FY 2072/73, non-life insurance companies have doubled their profits. The total of 17 non-life insurance companies earned Rs 2.47 billion net profit in during the year 2072/73.</p>

According to him, EPF is committed to extend loan of Rs 25 billion whereas CIT and other private banks have also shown interest to grant the loan.&nbsp;</p>

&ldquo;EPF is not the final loan provider. We can also invite tender for loan,&rdquo; said Shailandra Kansakar, Assistant Spokesperson for NAC. He further said that NAC has many options for loan at present unlike earlier periods. &nbsp;According to him, NAC might take the loans from all including EPF, CIF and private banks without inviting tender. &nbsp;</p>

NAC has not specified the rate of interest for loan taking. As per Kansakar, NAC will select bigger loan providing trusts and banks that will provide long term loans at low interest rate. &nbsp;</p>

EPF has already invested Rs 10 billion on NAC to purchase narrow-body aircraft. EPF said that it is ready to give more loans to NAC due to the government&rsquo;s guarantee for the loan. However, the EPF correspondent to NAC does not disclose the percentage of interest rate for the loan.&nbsp;</p>

&ldquo;NAC is trying finalise the loan procedure within few days,&rdquo; said spokesperson Sharma. NAC is planning to buy two airbuses of 330-200 series with seating capacity of 260 passengers in a bid to strengthen international flights of the country.&nbsp;</p>

<p><br />
Sharma informed that NAC is planning to buy the first airbus in a one year and the second one in the next year. &nbsp;Presently, NAC is operating flights to Dubai of United Arab Emirates (UAE), Doha of Qatar, Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia and Kolkata of India through its Boeing. Similarly, it has also been operating flights to New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore in India.</p>
