In the last FY, the operating profit of the bank increased by 42.45 percent to Rs 4.56 billion. Likewise the net profit also increased by 49.99 percent to Rs 1.08 billion.&nbsp;</p>

The AGM approved a proposal to distribute bonus share worth of Rs 750.6 million and cash dividend worth of Rs 39.5 million for tax purpose to the bank&#39;s shareholders. &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">With the distribution of bonus share, the bank&#39;s paid-up capital will reach Rs 4.75 billion. Moreover, the bank has also announced to issue 10:2.5 right shares in order to meet the minimum paid-up capital requirement of Rs 8 billion as per the directive of Nepal Rastra Bank.&nbsp;</p>

He made the comment at a function held in Kathmandu on September 29 by South Asia Watch on Trade, Economics and Environment (SAWTEE) to disseminate the findings of &ldquo;Trade and Transport Facilitation Audit in South Asia&rdquo;.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">In December 2013, WTO members concluded negotiations on a Trade Facilitation Agreement at the Bali Ministerial Conference. As a Member of WTO, Nepal was obligated to ratify the document.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Gauchan also said that seamless trade in South Asia region is important for unleashing the potential of trade for poverty reduction. He said that poor connectivity and trade facilitation have affected regional trade. It is because of this that in spite of the SAFTA [South Asian Free Trade Agreement] being in force since 2006&nbsp; regional trade is not encouraging in South Asia.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Speaking at the inaugural,President of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Suraj Vaidya said that the commitments made by South Asian governments look promising but it is the private sector that has been trying to move ahead. He complained that government responses were not very encouraging and this was further hampered by issues that come up from time to time like the recent postponement of the 19<sup>th</sup> SAARC Summit to be held in Islamabad.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Similarly, L. Savithri, Director for Trade, Finance and Economics at the SAARC Secretariat was of the view that business should be put ahead of politics and that the business community in SAARC countries can push for greater regional cooperation in South Asia.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Dr. Posh Raj Pandey, Chairman of SAWTEE, said that this research has contributed in identifying trade- and transport-related bottlenecks in the region and estimating the required investment for adopting considerable trade facilitation measures.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">About 35 participants from the government, private sector, media, academics and various other stakeholders from Bhutan, Bangladesh, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka were engage in the two days meeting on September 29 and 30. <p>Private sector has been long demanding the house to pass the Bill. The Bill for the first time has incorporated &lsquo;No Work No Pay&rsquo; system which has been a major demand of the country&rsquo;s private sector. Assuming the strength of industrial relation as the basis for productive growth, it has provisioned non-distribution of salary during the period of no work.</p>

<p>Similarly, the Bill has made strikes punishable offence if such activities obstruct the operations of industries. It has also made mandatory for the industrial sector to fulfill the required human resource from Nepali citizens. However, it has exempted such condition if there is non-availability of special skills and capacity of Nepali citizens.</p>

<p>Industry Minister Nabindra Raj Joshi believed that the approval of Bill will create conducive environment for industrial investments. &ldquo;The unanimous endorsement of the Bill by the Parliament delivers a big message,&rdquo; Joshi said. He continued saying, &ldquo;It is a pleasurable moment to see all political parties coming in one place for the country&rsquo;s economic development.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Likewise, the Bill has eased the registration process of industries. It has provisioned that Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environment Effect Analysis (EEA) of industries can be done after the establishment, operation and commencement of commercial production of the industries.</p>

<p>Likewise, the Bill has provisioned free of cost registration for micro-enterprises. It also has introduced the &lsquo;One window policy&rsquo; to provide the services of Department of Industry in convenient and easy way. The Bill has also incorporated provision to register complaints directly to the Ministry if the concerned authorities delay in registering industries in stipulated time.</p>

<p>Similarly, the Bill has validated the electronic transactions for industries and businesses. Meanwhile, on the corporate social responsibility (CSR) side, the Bill has made mandatory for businesses making turnover of Rs 150 million yearly to spend one percent of their profit.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The private sector has welcomed the parliament&rsquo;s initiative. &nbsp;&ldquo;Hopes of increase in investments have revived with the parliamentary endorsement of the much-awaited Bill,&rdquo; said Hari Bhakta Sharma, President of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI).&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The company informs that the validity period of the 100 MB data package is five days while the validity of the 250 MB data package is 10 days. The subscribers activating the scheme will get free voice calls and SMS facilities.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Likewise, the company avails 500 MB data at Rs40 and 1,200 MB data at Rs85 under the night data offer for GSM and CDMA mobile users. <p style="text-align:justify">Gauchan also said that seamless trade in South Asia region is important for unleashing the potential of trade for poverty reduction. He said that poor connectivity and trade facilitation have affected regional trade. It is because of this that in spite of the SAFTA [South Asian Free Trade Agreement] being in force since 2006&nbsp; regional trade is not encouraging in South Asia.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Speaking at the inaugural,President of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Suraj Vaidya said that the commitments made by South Asian governments look promising but it is the private sector that has been trying to move ahead. He complained that government responses were not very encouraging and this was further hampered by issues that come up from time to time like the recent postponement of the 19<sup>th</sup> SAARC Summit to be held in Islamabad.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Similarly, L. Savithri, Director for Trade, Finance and Economics at the SAARC Secretariat was of the view that business should be put ahead of politics and that the business community in SAARC countries can push for greater regional cooperation in South Asia.</p>

<p>Private sector has been long demanding the house to pass the Bill. The Bill for the first time has incorporated &lsquo;No Work No Pay&rsquo; system which has been a major demand of the country&rsquo;s private sector. Assuming the strength of industrial relation as the basis for productive growth, it has provisioned non-distribution of salary during the period of no work.</p>

<p>Similarly, the Bill has made strikes punishable offence if such activities obstruct the operations of industries. It has also made mandatory for the industrial sector to fulfill the required human resource from Nepali citizens. However, it has exempted such condition if there is non-availability of special skills and capacity of Nepali citizens.</p>

<p>Industry Minister Nabindra Raj Joshi believed that the approval of Bill will create conducive environment for industrial investments. &ldquo;The unanimous endorsement of the Bill by the Parliament delivers a big message,&rdquo; Joshi said. He continued saying, &ldquo;It is a pleasurable moment to see all political parties coming in one place for the country&rsquo;s economic development.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Likewise, the Bill has eased the registration process of industries. It has provisioned that Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environment Effect Analysis (EEA) of industries can be done after the establishment, operation and commencement of commercial production of the industries.</p>

<p>Likewise, the Bill has provisioned free of cost registration for micro-enterprises. It also has introduced the &lsquo;One window policy&rsquo; to provide the services of Department of Industry in convenient and easy way. The Bill has also incorporated provision to register complaints directly to the Ministry if the concerned authorities delay in registering industries in stipulated time.</p>

<p>Similarly, the Bill has validated the electronic transactions for industries and businesses. Meanwhile, on the corporate social responsibility (CSR) side, the Bill has made mandatory for businesses making turnover of Rs 150 million yearly to spend one percent of their profit.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The private sector has welcomed the parliament&rsquo;s initiative. &nbsp;&ldquo;Hopes of increase in investments have revived with the parliamentary endorsement of the much-awaited Bill,&rdquo; said Hari Bhakta Sharma, President of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI).&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

The AGM approved a proposal to distribute bonus share worth of Rs 750.6 million and cash dividend worth of Rs 39.5 million for tax purpose to the bank&#39;s shareholders. &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">With the distribution of bonus share, the bank&#39;s paid-up capital will reach Rs 4.75 billion. Moreover, the bank has also announced to issue 10:2.5 right shares in order to meet the minimum paid-up capital requirement of Rs 8 billion as per the directive of Nepal Rastra Bank.&nbsp;</p>

He made the comment at a function held in Kathmandu on September 29 by South Asia Watch on Trade, Economics and Environment (SAWTEE) to disseminate the findings of &ldquo;Trade and Transport Facilitation Audit in South Asia&rdquo;.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">In December 2013, WTO members concluded negotiations on a Trade Facilitation Agreement at the Bali Ministerial Conference. As a Member of WTO, Nepal was obligated to ratify the document.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Gauchan also said that seamless trade in South Asia region is important for unleashing the potential of trade for poverty reduction. He said that poor connectivity and trade facilitation have affected regional trade. It is because of this that in spite of the SAFTA [South Asian Free Trade Agreement] being in force since 2006&nbsp; regional trade is not encouraging in South Asia.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Speaking at the inaugural,President of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Suraj Vaidya said that the commitments made by South Asian governments look promising but it is the private sector that has been trying to move ahead. He complained that government responses were not very encouraging and this was further hampered by issues that come up from time to time like the recent postponement of the 19<sup>th</sup> SAARC Summit to be held in Islamabad.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Similarly, L. Savithri, Director for Trade, Finance and Economics at the SAARC Secretariat was of the view that business should be put ahead of politics and that the business community in SAARC countries can push for greater regional cooperation in South Asia.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Dr. Posh Raj Pandey, Chairman of SAWTEE, said that this research has contributed in identifying trade- and transport-related bottlenecks in the region and estimating the required investment for adopting considerable trade facilitation measures.</p>

<p>Private sector has been long demanding the house to pass the Bill. The Bill for the first time has incorporated &lsquo;No Work No Pay&rsquo; system which has been a major demand of the country&rsquo;s private sector. Assuming the strength of industrial relation as the basis for productive growth, it has provisioned non-distribution of salary during the period of no work.</p>

<p>Similarly, the Bill has made strikes punishable offence if such activities obstruct the operations of industries. It has also made mandatory for the industrial sector to fulfill the required human resource from Nepali citizens. However, it has exempted such condition if there is non-availability of special skills and capacity of Nepali citizens.</p>

It also has introduced the &lsquo;One window policy&rsquo; to provide the services of Department of Industry in convenient and easy way. <p style="text-align:justify">Gauchan also said that seamless trade in South Asia region is important for unleashing the potential of trade for poverty reduction. He said that poor connectivity and trade facilitation have affected regional trade. It is because of this that in spite of the SAFTA [South Asian Free Trade Agreement] being in force since 2006&nbsp; regional trade is not encouraging in South Asia.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Speaking at the inaugural,President of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Suraj Vaidya said that the commitments made by South Asian governments look promising but it is the private sector that has been trying to move ahead. He complained that government responses were not very encouraging and this was further hampered by issues that come up from time to time like the recent postponement of the 19<sup>th</sup> SAARC Summit to be held in Islamabad.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Similarly, L. Savithri, Director for Trade, Finance and Economics at the SAARC Secretariat was of the view that business should be put ahead of politics and that the business community in SAARC countries can push for greater regional cooperation in South Asia.</p>

<p>Private sector has been long demanding the house to pass the Bill. The Bill for the first time has incorporated &lsquo;No Work No Pay&rsquo; system which has been a major demand of the country&rsquo;s private sector. Assuming the strength of industrial relation as the basis for productive growth, it has provisioned non-distribution of salary during the period of no work.</p>

<p>Similarly, the Bill has made strikes punishable offence if such activities obstruct the operations of industries. It has also made mandatory for the industrial sector to fulfill the required human resource from Nepali citizens. However, it has exempted such condition if there is non-availability of special skills and capacity of Nepali citizens.</p>

<p>Industry Minister Nabindra Raj Joshi believed that the approval of Bill will create conducive environment for industrial investments. &ldquo;The unanimous endorsement of the Bill by the Parliament delivers a big message,&rdquo; Joshi said. He continued saying, &ldquo;It is a pleasurable moment to see all political parties coming in one place for the country&rsquo;s economic development.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Likewise, the Bill has eased the registration process of industries. It has provisioned that Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environment Effect Analysis (EEA) of industries can be done after the establishment, operation and commencement of commercial production of the industries.</p>

<p>Likewise, the Bill has provisioned free of cost registration for micro-enterprises. It also has introduced the &lsquo;One window policy&rsquo; to provide the services of Department of Industry in convenient and easy way. The Bill has also incorporated provision to register complaints directly to the Ministry if the concerned authorities delay in registering industries in stipulated time.</p>

<p>Similarly, the Bill has validated the electronic transactions for industries and businesses. Meanwhile, on the corporate social responsibility (CSR) side, the Bill has made mandatory for businesses making turnover of Rs 150 million yearly to spend one percent of their profit.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The private sector has welcomed the parliament&rsquo;s initiative. &nbsp;&ldquo;Hopes of increase in investments have revived with the parliamentary endorsement of the much-awaited Bill,&rdquo; said Hari Bhakta Sharma, President of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI).&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

As per the official stastistics, export of such&nbsp;services was registered at&nbsp;USD 30- 35 million in 2014. Along with the sectors, the strategy has also set new goals for foreign employment and tourism sector. &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The government has announced the five years plan with an objective to increase trade and export capacity. &nbsp;&ldquo;The major objective of the strategy is to increase the GDP to 4.5 percent from 0.77 percent within the next five years,&rdquo; said Toya Narayan Gyawali, Assistant Secretary of Ministry of Commerce.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The updated NTIS has also prioritised export of nine products and three services&nbsp;in order to encourage trade and export.
