In FY 2014/15, tea export totaled Rs 2.1 billion which increased by Rs 2.40 billion in FY 2015/16. &nbsp;As per the TEPC, last FY saw export of 13,289 metric tonnes of tea against 11,142 metric tonnes in FY 2014/15 marking a growth of 19.26 percent. The data indicates that the rise in demand has supported the increment in export despite the stability in average price of tea in the international market.&nbsp;</p>

However, the export of tea has slowed down in FY 2014/15 compared to FY 2013/14 as per the TEPC data. In FY2014/15, 11,396 metric tonnes of tea amounting Rs 2.1 billion was exported which is less in terms of quantity and amount. &ldquo;The last year&rsquo;s earthquake affected the production of tea in spite of the demand in the international market,&rdquo; says Gaurav Luitel, Planning Officer of the National Tea and Coffee Development Board. According to him, the non-tariff barrier imposed by different countries sometimes creates problem in the export of the Nepali tea. &nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

As per the Board, CTC tea comprises of 80 percent of the tea production in Nepal and orthodox tea shares the rest 20 percent. The Board views that the export is very less in terms of international market demand. &ldquo;Nepali tea is very popular in international market,&rdquo; mentions Luitel, adding, &ldquo;If we can make improvements in both production and quality, we can export tea as per the demand.&rdquo;</p>

Tea produced in Nepal is being exported to markets including India, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, China, France, Netherland, Canada and other countries. India is the single biggest market for Nepali tea. According to official statistics, 90 percent of tea produced in the country is exported to India while 2.8 percent is shipped to Germany and remaining to other countries. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>Civil Bank has also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for acquisition of Unique Finance and Hama Merchant &amp; Finance in order to meet the minimum paid-up capital requirement of Rs 8 billion as per the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) directive. Unique Finance has a paid-up capital of Rs 230 million, whereas Hama Merchant has a paid-up capital of Rs 220 million. After these proposed acquisitions, Civil Bank&rsquo;s paid-up capital will reach Rs 5.54 billion.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&ldquo;The bank will issue bonus and rights shares and also continue to merge with or acquire other institutions simultaneously to meet the minimum paid-up requirement of Rs8 billion,&rdquo; reads the statement.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&ldquo;The company will be established with a 29 percent share investment of the general Public, residents of the project affected districts and highly marginalized citizens,&rdquo; said Energy Minister Janardan Sharma. The structure of the company has been approved for the implementation of National Energy-Crisis Minimisation Workplan along with other short-term and long-term plans.</p>

<p>The establishment of the company has been granted permission as an autonomous entity as per the Companies Act, 2063. The company will have Rs 30 billion in paid-up capital, Rs 20 billion in authorised capital of, Rs 10 billion in issued capital and Rs 2 billion as capital pledged by the promoter.</p>

<p>&nbsp;The company will be constructing the 410MW Budhigandaki Project, 245 MW Naumure Project, 536 MW Sunkoshi III Project and 900MW Karnali Project. The structure of the company was approved after some changes in the proposed stake composition by the Ministry of Energy. The ministry earlier proposed a 23 percent share to the general public which has been reduced to 17 per cent. Similarly, the share of Nepal Telecom has been increased to 10 percent from four percent.</p>

<p><strong>Hedging fund for minimising risks </strong></p>

<p>Earlier on October 4, energy minister Sharma shared some of the important steps to facilitate the hydropower development. Speaking at a conference, he said that the government is preparing to establish a hedging fund in order to minimise the risks associated to the fluctuation in forex rates during the time of power purchase agreements (PPAs) in US Dollar with the developers of the projects.&nbsp; &nbsp;He also informed about the simplification of licensing and PPA procedures, government decision to construct some projects of NEA through subsidiary companies and large scale expansion of transmission lines.</p>

In FY 2014/15, tea export totaled Rs 2.1 billion which increased by Rs 2.40 billion in FY 2015/16. &nbsp;As per the TEPC, last FY saw export of 13,289 metric tonnes of tea against 11,142 metric tonnes in FY 2014/15 marking a growth of 19.26 percent. The data indicates that the rise in demand has supported the increment in export despite the stability in average price of tea in the international market.&nbsp;</p>

However, the export of tea has slowed down in FY 2014/15 compared to FY 2013/14 as per the TEPC data. In FY2014/15, 11,396 metric tonnes of tea amounting Rs 2.1 billion was exported which is less in terms of quantity and amount. &ldquo;The last year&rsquo;s earthquake affected the production of tea in spite of the demand in the international market,&rdquo; says Gaurav Luitel, Planning Officer of the National Tea and Coffee Development Board. According to him, the non-tariff barrier imposed by different countries sometimes creates problem in the export of the Nepali tea. &nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

As per the Board, CTC tea comprises of 80 percent of the tea production in Nepal and orthodox tea shares the rest 20 percent. The Board views that the export is very less in terms of international market demand. &ldquo;Nepali tea is very popular in international market,&rdquo; mentions Luitel, adding, &ldquo;If we can make improvements in both production and quality, we can export tea as per the demand.&rdquo;</p>

Tea produced in Nepal is being exported to markets including India, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, China, France, Netherland, Canada and other countries. India is the single biggest market for Nepali tea. According to official statistics, 90 percent of tea produced in the country is exported to India while 2.8 percent is shipped to Germany and remaining to other countries. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

After these proposed acquisitions, Civil Bank&rsquo;s paid-up capital will reach Rs 5.54 billion.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&ldquo;The company will be established with a 29 percent share investment of the general Public, residents of the project affected districts and highly marginalized citizens,&rdquo; said Energy Minister Janardan Sharma. The structure of the company has been approved for the implementation of National Energy-Crisis Minimisation Workplan along with other short-term and long-term plans.</p>

<p>The establishment of the company has been granted permission as an autonomous entity as per the Companies Act, 2063. The company will have Rs 30 billion in paid-up capital, Rs 20 billion in authorised capital of, Rs 10 billion in issued capital and Rs 2 billion as capital pledged by the promoter.</p>

<p>&nbsp;The company will be constructing the 410MW Budhigandaki Project, 245 MW Naumure Project, 536 MW Sunkoshi III Project and 900MW Karnali Project. The structure of the company was approved after some changes in the proposed stake composition by the Ministry of Energy. The ministry earlier proposed a 23 percent share to the general public which has been reduced to 17 per cent. Similarly, the share of Nepal Telecom has been increased to 10 percent from four percent.</p>

<p><strong>Hedging fund for minimising risks </strong></p>

<p>Earlier on October 4, energy minister Sharma shared some of the important steps to facilitate the hydropower development. Speaking at a conference, he said that the government is preparing to establish a hedging fund in order to minimise the risks associated to the fluctuation in forex rates during the time of power purchase agreements (PPAs) in US Dollar with the developers of the projects.&nbsp; &nbsp;He also informed about the simplification of licensing and PPA procedures, government decision to construct some projects of NEA through subsidiary companies and large scale expansion of transmission lines.</p>

As per the issued statement, NT is providing 100 MB data at Rs 50 and 250 MB at Rs 100 between October 1 to 15 and October 28 to November 6. The 100 MB data offer is valid for 5 days, while the 250 MB pack can be used for 10 days. In FY 2014/15, tea export totaled Rs 2.1 billion which increased by Rs 2.40 billion in FY 2015/16. &nbsp;As per the TEPC, last FY saw export of 13,289 metric tonnes of tea against 11,142 metric tonnes in FY 2014/15 marking a growth of 19.26 percent. The data indicates that the rise in demand has supported the increment in export despite the stability in average price of tea in the international market.&nbsp;</p>

However, the export of tea has slowed down in FY 2014/15 compared to FY 2013/14 as per the TEPC data. In FY2014/15, 11,396 metric tonnes of tea amounting Rs 2.1 billion was exported which is less in terms of quantity and amount. &ldquo;The last year&rsquo;s earthquake affected the production of tea in spite of the demand in the international market,&rdquo; says Gaurav Luitel, Planning Officer of the National Tea and Coffee Development Board. According to him, the non-tariff barrier imposed by different countries sometimes creates problem in the export of the Nepali tea. &nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

As per the Board, CTC tea comprises of 80 percent of the tea production in Nepal and orthodox tea shares the rest 20 percent. The Board views that the export is very less in terms of international market demand. &ldquo;Nepali tea is very popular in international market,&rdquo; mentions Luitel, adding, &ldquo;If we can make improvements in both production and quality, we can export tea as per the demand.&rdquo;</p>

Tea produced in Nepal is being exported to markets including India, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, China, France, Netherland, Canada and other countries. India is the single biggest market for Nepali tea. According to official statistics, 90 percent of tea produced in the country is exported to India while 2.8 percent is shipped to Germany and remaining to other countries. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>Civil Bank has also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for acquisition of Unique Finance and Hama Merchant &amp; Finance in order to meet the minimum paid-up capital requirement of Rs 8 billion as per the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) directive. Unique Finance has a paid-up capital of Rs 230 million, whereas Hama Merchant has a paid-up capital of Rs 220 million. After these proposed acquisitions, Civil Bank&rsquo;s paid-up capital will reach Rs 5.54 billion.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&ldquo;The company will be established with a 29 percent share investment of the general Public, residents of the project affected districts and highly marginalized citizens,&rdquo; said Energy Minister Janardan Sharma. The structure of the company has been approved for the implementation of National Energy-Crisis Minimisation Workplan along with other short-term and long-term plans.</p>

<p>The establishment of the company has been granted permission as an autonomous entity as per the Companies Act, 2063. The company will have Rs 30 billion in paid-up capital, Rs 20 billion in authorised capital of, Rs 10 billion in issued capital and Rs 2 billion as capital pledged by the promoter.</p>

<p>&nbsp;The company will be constructing the 410MW Budhigandaki Project, 245 MW Naumure Project, 536 MW Sunkoshi III Project and 900MW Karnali Project. The structure of the company was approved after some changes in the proposed stake composition by the Ministry of Energy. The ministry earlier proposed a 23 percent share to the general public which has been reduced to 17 per cent. Similarly, the share of Nepal Telecom has been increased to 10 percent from four percent.</p>

<p><strong>Hedging fund for minimising risks </strong></p>

<p>Earlier on October 4, energy minister Sharma shared some of the important steps to facilitate the hydropower development. Speaking at a conference, he said that the government is preparing to establish a hedging fund in order to minimise the risks associated to the fluctuation in forex rates during the time of power purchase agreements (PPAs) in US Dollar with the developers of the projects.&nbsp; &nbsp;He also informed about the simplification of licensing and PPA procedures, government decision to construct some projects of NEA through subsidiary companies and large scale expansion of transmission lines.</p>

As per the issued statement, NT is providing 100 MB data at Rs 50 and 250 MB at Rs 100 between October 1 to 15 and October 28 to November 6. The 100 MB data offer is valid for 5 days, while the 250 MB pack can be used for 10 days. In FY 2014/15, tea export totaled Rs 2.1 billion which increased by Rs 2.40 billion in FY 2015/16. &nbsp;As per the TEPC, last FY saw export of 13,289 metric tonnes of tea against 11,142 metric tonnes in FY 2014/15 marking a growth of 19.26 percent. The data indicates that the rise in demand has supported the increment in export despite the stability in average price of tea in the international market.&nbsp;</p>

<p><br />
However, the export of tea has slowed down in FY 2014/15 compared to FY 2013/14 as per the TEPC data. In FY2014/15, 11,396 metric tonnes of tea amounting Rs 2.1 billion was exported which is less in terms of quantity and amount. &ldquo;The last year&rsquo;s earthquake affected the production of tea in spite of the demand in the international market,&rdquo; says Gaurav Luitel, Planning Officer of the National Tea and Coffee Development Board. According to him, the non-tariff barrier imposed by different countries sometimes creates problem in the export of the Nepali tea. &nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p><br />
As per the Board, CTC tea comprises of 80 percent of the tea production in Nepal and orthodox tea shares the rest 20 percent. The Board views that the export is very less in terms of international market demand. &ldquo;Nepali tea is very popular in international market,&rdquo; mentions Luitel, adding, &ldquo;If we can make improvements in both production and quality, we can export tea as per the demand.&rdquo;</p>

Tea produced in Nepal is being exported to markets including India, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, China, France, Netherland, Canada and other countries. India is the single biggest market for Nepali tea. According to official statistics, 90 percent of tea produced in the country is exported to India while 2.8 percent is shipped to Germany and remaining to other countries. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>Civil Bank has also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for acquisition of Unique Finance and Hama Merchant &amp; Finance in order to meet the minimum paid-up capital requirement of Rs 8 billion as per the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) directive. Unique Finance has a paid-up capital of Rs 230 million, whereas Hama Merchant has a paid-up capital of Rs 220 million. After these proposed acquisitions, Civil Bank&rsquo;s paid-up capital will reach Rs 5.54 billion.</p>

<p>&nbsp;&ldquo;The bank will issue bonus and rights shares and also continue to merge with or acquire other institutions simultaneously to meet the minimum paid-up requirement of Rs8 billion,&rdquo; reads the statement.</p>

The organiser of the campaign has set an objective as per which a NRN should persuade his/her three friends to visit Nepal.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Having network of NRNA in 75 countries around the world, we can contribute significantly for the promotion of Nepali tourism,&rdquo; said Sesh Ghale, President of NRN. He further added, &ldquo;NRNA is conducting different programs related to tourism including &lsquo;Atithi Devo Bhawa&rsquo; on the 75 countries in cooperation with Nepal Government and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).&rdquo;</p>

<p>Stating that more than 5 million Nepalis are residing abroad at present, Bhawan Bhatta, Vice-President of the NRNA and Chairman of NTPC expressed the commitment of diasporas for the major contribution to promote Nepal globally.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Meanwhile, Shankar Prasad Adhikari, Secretary of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation said the government will cooperate with NRNA for the promotion of tourism. <p>&nbsp;&ldquo;The company will be established with a 29 percent share investment of the general Public, residents of the project affected districts and highly marginalized citizens,&rdquo; said Energy Minister Janardan Sharma. The structure of the company has been approved for the implementation of National Energy-Crisis Minimisation Workplan along with other short-term and long-term plans.</p>

<p>The establishment of the company has been granted permission as an autonomous entity as per the Companies Act, 2063. The company will have Rs 30 billion in paid-up capital, Rs 20 billion in authorised capital of, Rs 10 billion in issued capital and Rs 2 billion as capital pledged by the promoter.</p>

<p>&nbsp;The company will be constructing the 410MW Budhigandaki Project, 245 MW Naumure Project, 536 MW Sunkoshi III Project and 900MW Karnali Project. The structure of the company was approved after some changes in the proposed stake composition by the Ministry of Energy. The ministry earlier proposed a 23 percent share to the general public which has been reduced to 17 per cent. Similarly, the share of Nepal Telecom has been increased to 10 percent from four percent.</p>

<p><strong>Hedging fund for minimising risks </strong></p>

<p>Earlier on October 4, energy minister Sharma shared some of the important steps to facilitate the hydropower development. Speaking at a conference, he said that the government is preparing to establish a hedging fund in order to minimise the risks associated to the fluctuation in forex rates during the time of power purchase agreements (PPAs) in US Dollar with the developers of the projects.&nbsp; &nbsp;He also informed about the simplification of licensing and PPA procedures, government decision to construct some projects of NEA through subsidiary companies and large scale expansion of transmission lines.</p>

<p><strong>NT&#39;s Festive Offer </strong></p>

<p>Nepal Telecom (NT) has announced a range of discount schemes for its customers on the occasion of Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festivals. As per the issued statement, NT is providing 100 MB data at Rs 50 and 250 MB at Rs 100 between October 1 to 15 and October 28 to November 6. The 100 MB data offer is valid for 5 days, while the 250 MB pack can be used for 10 days. Under these offers, the users can use 10 minutes of voice call and 10 SMSs and 25 minutes of voice call and 25 SMSs respectively. Similarly, GSM and CDMA customers will get a 10 percent discount on every voice call within its own network, which means the call tariff for prepaid mobile users will be Rs1.35 per minute and for postpaid users Rs0.90 per minute.<br />
