Similarly, Surendra Kumar Sharada, Chairman of Nepal Federation of Furniture and Furnishing Entrepreneurs (NFFFE) said given that labour, policies and electricity problems solved, Nepal can be self-reliant in furniture within 3 to 5 year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The first day of the expo saw a significant number of visitors. There were altogether 67 stalls including big and small.&nbsp; Among the total stalls, 37 are showcasing local products while 30 stalls are displaying international products.&nbsp; The expo is showcasing various furniture and furnishing products for homes and offices. Moreover, the expo is also providing Vastu consultations to the visitors.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Shaan Furniture Udhyog is the title sponsor while Yeti Flooring and Gem Flooring are the main sponsors of the expo. The expo is also conducting Interior Designing Competition (IDC-2016) among the students of interior designing.&nbsp;</p>

			'content' => '<p style="text-align: justify;">December 4 &ndash; The World Bank approved a credit of USD 150 million to help the Government of Nepal expand coverage of civil registration and modernize the delivery of social security allowances on December 2.&nbsp; Over a five year period, the Strengthening Systems for Social Protection and Civil Registration Project will support the establishment of a comprehensive national population register and the phased introduction of electronic-payments to deliver social security allowances in 25 of Nepal&rsquo;s 75 districts.&nbsp; The new project will also help strengthen related processes and institutional capacity at the central and local levels, states the press release issued by the bank.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The social security allowance is the largest among Nepal&rsquo;s social assistance programs. Five schemes for old-age pension, single woman&rsquo;s pension, child grant, disability grant, and endangered ethnicity grant together account for about 0.9 percent of GDP and reach more than 2.2 million individual beneficiaries. These allowances are intended for those who are considered socially or economically vulnerable.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;A recent analysis carried out by the World Bank indicated considerable under-coverage of around 30&ndash;40 percent among eligible senior citizens and single women, with the incidence even worse among the poorest,&rdquo; said Takuya Kamata, World Bank Country Manager for Nepal.&nbsp; &ldquo;Some people who are eligible for these benefits are not receiving them because of reasons such as low awareness among them, difficulty in accessing nearest local body offices, and lack of legal documents to prove their eligibility,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&quot;The population register that this new project will support will serve as a basis for identifying populations eligible for social security allowances and those excluded from accessing other public and private services. For example, a birth certificate is a requirement for school enrollment. It will help generate timely vital statistics from a central database that could potentially establish linkages with other national programs such as poverty targeted scholarships and health insurance,&quot; reads the statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;The transition to e-payments and the expansion of IT infrastructure and trained personnel will, over time, make delivery of social security allowances more efficient and reliable, ensuring the right people are paid the right amount at the right time. This should reduce leakage or payment delays,&rdquo; said Jasmine Rajbhandary, Task Team Leader for the project.&nbsp; &ldquo;The project will also promote wider citizen engagement, particularly in the areas of enrollment, payment verification and grievance redressal,&rdquo; she said.</p>

Issuing a press statement, the bank informed that the latest offering will allow consumers to transact securely at ATM, POS Terminals and most importantly would contribute towards making the Nepali payment domain more secure.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to the statement, EMV Cards will make card based transactions more secure which, in turn, will give a boost to the cashless transaction system in Nepal.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&quot;The bank has always been extremely cautious on the security aspect of the electronic transactions. Earlier, it had introduced forceful PIN change system into the card system to give confidence to the card holders. 			'content' => '<p style="text-align: justify;">December 4 &ndash; The World Bank approved a credit of USD 150 million to help the Government of Nepal expand coverage of civil registration and modernize the delivery of social security allowances on December 2.&nbsp; Over a five year period, the Strengthening Systems for Social Protection and Civil Registration Project will support the establishment of a comprehensive national population register and the phased introduction of electronic-payments to deliver social security allowances in 25 of Nepal&rsquo;s 75 districts.&nbsp; The new project will also help strengthen related processes and institutional capacity at the central and local levels, states the press release issued by the bank.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The social security allowance is the largest among Nepal&rsquo;s social assistance programs. Five schemes for old-age pension, single woman&rsquo;s pension, child grant, disability grant, and endangered ethnicity grant together account for about 0.9 percent of GDP and reach more than 2.2 million individual beneficiaries. These allowances are intended for those who are considered socially or economically vulnerable.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;A recent analysis carried out by the World Bank indicated considerable under-coverage of around 30&ndash;40 percent among eligible senior citizens and single women, with the incidence even worse among the poorest,&rdquo; said Takuya Kamata, World Bank Country Manager for Nepal.&nbsp; &ldquo;Some people who are eligible for these benefits are not receiving them because of reasons such as low awareness among them, difficulty in accessing nearest local body offices, and lack of legal documents to prove their eligibility,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&quot;The population register that this new project will support will serve as a basis for identifying populations eligible for social security allowances and those excluded from accessing other public and private services. For example, a birth certificate is a requirement for school enrollment. It will help generate timely vital statistics from a central database that could potentially establish linkages with other national programs such as poverty targeted scholarships and health insurance,&quot; reads the statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;The transition to e-payments and the expansion of IT infrastructure and trained personnel will, over time, make delivery of social security allowances more efficient and reliable, ensuring the right people are paid the right amount at the right time. This should reduce leakage or payment delays,&rdquo; said Jasmine Rajbhandary, Task Team Leader for the project.&nbsp; &ldquo;The project will also promote wider citizen engagement, particularly in the areas of enrollment, payment verification and grievance redressal,&rdquo; she said.</p>

Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) and Pashupati Murarka, President of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) jointly inaugurated the expo.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">On the occasion, President Shrestha suggested the organisers to include furniture repairing tools, equipments and materials along with the merchandise. He said that the chamber is always ready to solve the problems faced by furniture industries regarding labour, electricity and policies.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, FNCCI President Murarka said that the furniture expo in its fourth edition has excelled the industry and the FNCCI is there to provide any kind of support to the industry.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Kabindra Joshi, President of NFFA, rapid urbanisation and changed lifestyle of people has expanded the areas of the furniture industry. Similarly, Surendra Kumar Sharada, Chairman of Nepal Federation of Furniture and Furnishing Entrepreneurs (NFFFE) said given that labour, policies and electricity problems solved, Nepal can be self-reliant in furniture within 3 to 5 year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The first day of the expo saw a significant number of visitors. There were altogether 67 stalls including big and small.&nbsp; Among the total stalls, 37 are showcasing local products while 30 stalls are displaying international products.&nbsp; The expo is showcasing various furniture and furnishing products for homes and offices. Moreover, the expo is also providing Vastu consultations to the visitors.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Shaan Furniture Udhyog is the title sponsor while Yeti Flooring and Gem Flooring are the main sponsors of the expo. The expo is also conducting Interior Designing Competition (IDC-2016) among the students of interior designing.&nbsp;</p>

			'content' => '<p style="text-align: justify;">December 4 &ndash; The World Bank approved a credit of USD 150 million to help the Government of Nepal expand coverage of civil registration and modernize the delivery of social security allowances on December 2.&nbsp; Over a five year period, the Strengthening Systems for Social Protection and Civil Registration Project will support the establishment of a comprehensive national population register and the phased introduction of electronic-payments to deliver social security allowances in 25 of Nepal&rsquo;s 75 districts.&nbsp; The new project will also help strengthen related processes and institutional capacity at the central and local levels, states the press release issued by the bank.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The social security allowance is the largest among Nepal&rsquo;s social assistance programs. Five schemes for old-age pension, single woman&rsquo;s pension, child grant, disability grant, and endangered ethnicity grant together account for about 0.9 percent of GDP and reach more than 2.2 million individual beneficiaries. These allowances are intended for those who are considered socially or economically vulnerable.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;A recent analysis carried out by the World Bank indicated considerable under-coverage of around 30&ndash;40 percent among eligible senior citizens and single women, with the incidence even worse among the poorest,&rdquo; said Takuya Kamata, World Bank Country Manager for Nepal.&nbsp; &ldquo;Some people who are eligible for these benefits are not receiving them because of reasons such as low awareness among them, difficulty in accessing nearest local body offices, and lack of legal documents to prove their eligibility,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&quot;The population register that this new project will support will serve as a basis for identifying populations eligible for social security allowances and those excluded from accessing other public and private services. For example, a birth certificate is a requirement for school enrollment. It will help generate timely vital statistics from a central database that could potentially establish linkages with other national programs such as poverty targeted scholarships and health insurance,&quot; reads the statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;The transition to e-payments and the expansion of IT infrastructure and trained personnel will, over time, make delivery of social security allowances more efficient and reliable, ensuring the right people are paid the right amount at the right time. This should reduce leakage or payment delays,&rdquo; said Jasmine Rajbhandary, Task Team Leader for the project.&nbsp; &ldquo;The project will also promote wider citizen engagement, particularly in the areas of enrollment, payment verification and grievance redressal,&rdquo; she said.</p>

			'content' => '<p style="text-align: justify;">December 4 &ndash; The World Bank approved a credit of USD 150 million to help the Government of Nepal expand coverage of civil registration and modernize the delivery of social security allowances on December 2.&nbsp; Over a five year period, the Strengthening Systems for Social Protection and Civil Registration Project will support the establishment of a comprehensive national population register and the phased introduction of electronic-payments to deliver social security allowances in 25 of Nepal&rsquo;s 75 districts.&nbsp; The new project will also help strengthen related processes and institutional capacity at the central and local levels, states the press release issued by the bank.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The social security allowance is the largest among Nepal&rsquo;s social assistance programs. Five schemes for old-age pension, single woman&rsquo;s pension, child grant, disability grant, and endangered ethnicity grant together account for about 0.9 percent of GDP and reach more than 2.2 million individual beneficiaries. These allowances are intended for those who are considered socially or economically vulnerable.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;A recent analysis carried out by the World Bank indicated considerable under-coverage of around 30&ndash;40 percent among eligible senior citizens and single women, with the incidence even worse among the poorest,&rdquo; said Takuya Kamata, World Bank Country Manager for Nepal.&nbsp; &ldquo;Some people who are eligible for these benefits are not receiving them because of reasons such as low awareness among them, difficulty in accessing nearest local body offices, and lack of legal documents to prove their eligibility,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&quot;The population register that this new project will support will serve as a basis for identifying populations eligible for social security allowances and those excluded from accessing other public and private services. For example, a birth certificate is a requirement for school enrollment. It will help generate timely vital statistics from a central database that could potentially establish linkages with other national programs such as poverty targeted scholarships and health insurance,&quot; reads the statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&ldquo;The transition to e-payments and the expansion of IT infrastructure and trained personnel will, over time, make delivery of social security allowances more efficient and reliable, ensuring the right people are paid the right amount at the right time. This should reduce leakage or payment delays,&rdquo; said Jasmine Rajbhandary, Task Team Leader for the project.&nbsp; &ldquo;The project will also promote wider citizen engagement, particularly in the areas of enrollment, payment verification and grievance redressal,&rdquo; she said.</p>
