<p style="text-align: justify;">This suggestion from IMF came on the basis of its study and consultations it conducted with the stakeholders in February regarding the macroeconomic situation of Nepal, at a time when the government is making preparations for the budget of the next fiscal year 2017- 18.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The task force of the IMF also called &lsquo;Article IV&rsquo; had presented its report at its board on the basis of the indices of Nepali economy and consultations with the policy makers, regulatory bodies and the private sector.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;The IMF press release states that it is appropriate for Nepal to bring a budget as per the structure of midterm expenditure rather than a large budget that is out of its spending capacity.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">This suggestion is noteworthy in the context that a tendency continues for bringing a big budget by violating the National Planning Commission (NPC) ceiling every year. The budget that is brought to show off to the opposition and to raise high hopes among the people has only increased consumer expectations and prices. The IMF, indicating this, has said such budget risks inflation and instability in exchange rate in economy. &nbsp;The IMF has given its view in favour of controlled monetary policy for minimizing the risks of weak implementation of a large budget.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Fund said the government should adopt a strict strategy to control in monetary policy so as to control inflation by minimizing risks of expansive financial policy. The Fund also said the central bank should also be alert in the instability of exchange rate caused by a bigger budget at a time when remittances inflow is coming down. However, the fund has lauded the interest corridor implemented by the central bank since last year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;The Fund statement says that the central bank should fix the minimum limitation of interest rate to make the interest corridor effective and to stop the fluctuation of interest rate in the financial sector. &nbsp;The IMF has also suggested giving continuity to the Financial Sector Reform Programme by the government for risk minimization in financial sector due to the unproductive sector loans.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">It mentioned that implementation side is a impediment to&nbsp; economic growth even if there is enough possibility of high economic growth in Nepal and suggested to attract investment from the private sector in roads, hydropower projects and large infrastructures for attaining high, sustained and&nbsp; inclusive economic growth.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&ldquo;For that matter, under the initiation of MoI, the CSR funds should be accumulated in a basket and spent on required sector,&rdquo; they opined. &ldquo;The private sector is ready to spend some portion of their earned profit under social corporate responsibility to social sectors. However, if a provision is introduced granting them the liberty to mention such expenses in the books, more such funds will be accumulated,&rdquo; they said.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Under the Industrial Enterprises Act, 2016, all medium and large scale industries and small and cottage industries making business transaction above Rs 150 million annually are subjected to spend at least one percent of their annual profit in CSR activities.&nbsp;</p>

The national flag carrier is set to release nearly 35 percent of the total amount as the first installment. AAR, the American company bagged a global bidding by beating ten other companies. According to the NAC, the A 330-200 series airbuses will have 250-280 seats.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Both Airbuses to arrive by second quarter of 2018</strong></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the agreement between NAC and AAR, the airbuses will be handed over to Nepal by the second quarter of 2018. With the additions, NAC will have five airbuses for international flights. Presently, NAC is flying eight destinations with its one Boeing 757-200 and two 320-200 series narrow body airbuses. NAC is planning to serve new destinations including South Korea, Japan, Australia and Saudi Arabia with the addition of the two airbuses.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The banks put forth this demand with the central bank after they were asked for suggestions regarding the provision on interest rate fixation and review through a Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) concept paper on March 16.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The central bank has urged the banks to send suggestions while making public its own concept on only increasing interest rate twice a year in loans and informing debtors at least 45 days in advance if there is a need to increase the interest rate of loan of more than one year of loan period, and increasing interest rate of short period or that of renewable loans by informing a month earlier.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The NRB concept includes banks should inform the clients on various kinds of fees, annual and periodic interest rates as well as the method and basis of calculation of interest rate.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The banks&rsquo; suggestions were sent through the Nepal Bankers Association (NBA), said Association Vice Chairman and Nepal Bangladesh Bank Chief Executive Officer Gyanendra Dhungana. The association has 28 banks associated with it. Other suggestions by the Association are right to increase interest rate when desired saying that only 30 days&rsquo; notice was enough for increasing interest rates.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&nbsp;Likewise, the 55 development banks of the Development Bankers Association (DBA) have also suggested two month deadline for increasing or reducing interest rate as per the market status, said Association Chairman and Kailash Development Bank CEO Krishna Raj Lamichhane. He said they should not be forced to specify interest rate ceiling in an open economy.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Likewise, the 33 finance companies of &lsquo;C&rsquo; class have also agreed to the suggestions by the Nepal Bankers Association (NBA) and have not sent separate suggestions, said Finance Company Association Chairman and Goodwill Finance CEO Sarojkaji Tuladhar.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&nbsp;NRB has given seven-day deadline for suggestions and NRB Spokesman Narayan Prasad Paudel said the collected suggestions will be presented at the board meeting and decision on it will be made by the Board.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the telecommunication sector&rsquo;s report of FY 2072/73 issued by Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA), Ncell earned Rs 8.03 billion revenue through data services only. Whereas, Nepal Telecom, the state owned Telecommunication Company earned Rs 4.79 billion in the review period through its data services. The NTA report suggests that the revenue through data services has increased correspondingly with the increment of number of users every year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">During the last year, the number of users of Ncell data services was 5.855 million. Similarly, there were 7.602 million users of various internet services of NT. At present, nearly 13.7 million customers are using internet through four dozen internet service provider companies of Nepal.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">This suggestion from IMF came on the basis of its study and consultations it conducted with the stakeholders in February regarding the macroeconomic situation of Nepal, at a time when the government is making preparations for the budget of the next fiscal year 2017- 18.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The task force of the IMF also called &lsquo;Article IV&rsquo; had presented its report at its board on the basis of the indices of Nepali economy and consultations with the policy makers, regulatory bodies and the private sector.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;The IMF press release states that it is appropriate for Nepal to bring a budget as per the structure of midterm expenditure rather than a large budget that is out of its spending capacity.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">This suggestion is noteworthy in the context that a tendency continues for bringing a big budget by violating the National Planning Commission (NPC) ceiling every year. The budget that is brought to show off to the opposition and to raise high hopes among the people has only increased consumer expectations and prices. The IMF, indicating this, has said such budget risks inflation and instability in exchange rate in economy. &nbsp;The IMF has given its view in favour of controlled monetary policy for minimizing the risks of weak implementation of a large budget.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Fund said the government should adopt a strict strategy to control in monetary policy so as to control inflation by minimizing risks of expansive financial policy. The Fund also said the central bank should also be alert in the instability of exchange rate caused by a bigger budget at a time when remittances inflow is coming down. However, the fund has lauded the interest corridor implemented by the central bank since last year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;The Fund statement says that the central bank should fix the minimum limitation of interest rate to make the interest corridor effective and to stop the fluctuation of interest rate in the financial sector. &nbsp;The IMF has also suggested giving continuity to the Financial Sector Reform Programme by the government for risk minimization in financial sector due to the unproductive sector loans.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">It mentioned that implementation side is a impediment to&nbsp; economic growth even if there is enough possibility of high economic growth in Nepal and suggested to attract investment from the private sector in roads, hydropower projects and large infrastructures for attaining high, sustained and&nbsp; inclusive economic growth.</p>

However, if a provision is introduced granting them the liberty to mention such expenses in the books, more such funds will be accumulated,&rdquo; they said.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Under the Industrial Enterprises Act, 2016, all medium and large scale industries and small and cottage industries making business transaction above Rs 150 million annually are subjected to spend at least one percent of their annual profit in CSR activities.&nbsp;</p>

According to the NAC, the A 330-200 series airbuses will have 250-280 seats.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Both Airbuses to arrive by second quarter of 2018</strong></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the agreement between NAC and AAR, the airbuses will be handed over to Nepal by the second quarter of 2018. With the additions, NAC will have five airbuses for international flights. Presently, NAC is flying eight destinations with its one Boeing 757-200 and two 320-200 series narrow body airbuses. NAC is planning to serve new destinations including South Korea, Japan, Australia and Saudi Arabia with the addition of the two airbuses.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The banks put forth this demand with the central bank after they were asked for suggestions regarding the provision on interest rate fixation and review through a Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) concept paper on March 16.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The central bank has urged the banks to send suggestions while making public its own concept on only increasing interest rate twice a year in loans and informing debtors at least 45 days in advance if there is a need to increase the interest rate of loan of more than one year of loan period, and increasing interest rate of short period or that of renewable loans by informing a month earlier.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The NRB concept includes banks should inform the clients on various kinds of fees, annual and periodic interest rates as well as the method and basis of calculation of interest rate.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The banks&rsquo; suggestions were sent through the Nepal Bankers Association (NBA), said Association Vice Chairman and Nepal Bangladesh Bank Chief Executive Officer Gyanendra Dhungana. The association has 28 banks associated with it. Other suggestions by the Association are right to increase interest rate when desired saying that only 30 days&rsquo; notice was enough for increasing interest rates.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&nbsp;Likewise, the 55 development banks of the Development Bankers Association (DBA) have also suggested two month deadline for increasing or reducing interest rate as per the market status, said Association Chairman and Kailash Development Bank CEO Krishna Raj Lamichhane. He said they should not be forced to specify interest rate ceiling in an open economy.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Likewise, the 33 finance companies of &lsquo;C&rsquo; class have also agreed to the suggestions by the Nepal Bankers Association (NBA) and have not sent separate suggestions, said Finance Company Association Chairman and Goodwill Finance CEO Sarojkaji Tuladhar.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&nbsp;NRB has given seven-day deadline for suggestions and NRB Spokesman Narayan Prasad Paudel said the collected suggestions will be presented at the board meeting and decision on it will be made by the Board.</p>

According to a government research, due to high demand and use of internet, Ncell has earned the highest revenue.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the telecommunication sector&rsquo;s report of FY 2072/73 issued by Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA), Ncell earned Rs 8.03 billion revenue through data services only. Whereas, Nepal Telecom, the state owned Telecommunication Company earned Rs 4.79 billion in the review period through its data services. The NTA report suggests that the revenue through data services has increased correspondingly with the increment of number of users every year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">During the last year, the number of users of Ncell data services was 5.855 million. Similarly, there were 7.602 million users of various internet services of NT. At present, nearly 13.7 million customers are using internet through four dozen internet service provider companies of Nepal.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the report, telecommunication service providers earn more revenue through voice call services than from data services. &nbsp;During the last FY, Ncell earned Rs 47.39 billion through voice call whereas NT earned Rs 34.87 billion through the voice call in review period. &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">This suggestion from IMF came on the basis of its study and consultations it conducted with the stakeholders in February regarding the macroeconomic situation of Nepal, at a time when the government is making preparations for the budget of the next fiscal year 2017- 18.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The task force of the IMF also called &lsquo;Article IV&rsquo; had presented its report at its board on the basis of the indices of Nepali economy and consultations with the policy makers, regulatory bodies and the private sector.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;The IMF press release states that it is appropriate for Nepal to bring a budget as per the structure of midterm expenditure rather than a large budget that is out of its spending capacity.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">This suggestion is noteworthy in the context that a tendency continues for bringing a big budget by violating the National Planning Commission (NPC) ceiling every year. The budget that is brought to show off to the opposition and to raise high hopes among the people has only increased consumer expectations and prices. The IMF, indicating this, has said such budget risks inflation and instability in exchange rate in economy. &nbsp;The IMF has given its view in favour of controlled monetary policy for minimizing the risks of weak implementation of a large budget.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Fund said the government should adopt a strict strategy to control in monetary policy so as to control inflation by minimizing risks of expansive financial policy. The Fund also said the central bank should also be alert in the instability of exchange rate caused by a bigger budget at a time when remittances inflow is coming down. However, the fund has lauded the interest corridor implemented by the central bank since last year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;The Fund statement says that the central bank should fix the minimum limitation of interest rate to make the interest corridor effective and to stop the fluctuation of interest rate in the financial sector. &nbsp;The IMF has also suggested giving continuity to the Financial Sector Reform Programme by the government for risk minimization in financial sector due to the unproductive sector loans.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">It mentioned that implementation side is a impediment to&nbsp; economic growth even if there is enough possibility of high economic growth in Nepal and suggested to attract investment from the private sector in roads, hydropower projects and large infrastructures for attaining high, sustained and&nbsp; inclusive economic growth.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Both Airbuses to arrive by second quarter of 2018</strong></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the agreement between NAC and AAR, the airbuses will be handed over to Nepal by the second quarter of 2018. With the additions, NAC will have five airbuses for international flights. Presently, NAC is flying eight destinations with its one Boeing 757-200 and two 320-200 series narrow body airbuses. NAC is planning to serve new destinations including South Korea, Japan, Australia and Saudi Arabia with the addition of the two airbuses.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The banks put forth this demand with the central bank after they were asked for suggestions regarding the provision on interest rate fixation and review through a Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) concept paper on March 16.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The central bank has urged the banks to send suggestions while making public its own concept on only increasing interest rate twice a year in loans and informing debtors at least 45 days in advance if there is a need to increase the interest rate of loan of more than one year of loan period, and increasing interest rate of short period or that of renewable loans by informing a month earlier.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The NRB concept includes banks should inform the clients on various kinds of fees, annual and periodic interest rates as well as the method and basis of calculation of interest rate.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The banks&rsquo; suggestions were sent through the Nepal Bankers Association (NBA), said Association Vice Chairman and Nepal Bangladesh Bank Chief Executive Officer Gyanendra Dhungana. The association has 28 banks associated with it. Other suggestions by the Association are right to increase interest rate when desired saying that only 30 days&rsquo; notice was enough for increasing interest rates.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&nbsp;Likewise, the 55 development banks of the Development Bankers Association (DBA) have also suggested two month deadline for increasing or reducing interest rate as per the market status, said Association Chairman and Kailash Development Bank CEO Krishna Raj Lamichhane. He said they should not be forced to specify interest rate ceiling in an open economy.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Likewise, the 33 finance companies of &lsquo;C&rsquo; class have also agreed to the suggestions by the Nepal Bankers Association (NBA) and have not sent separate suggestions, said Finance Company Association Chairman and Goodwill Finance CEO Sarojkaji Tuladhar.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&nbsp;NRB has given seven-day deadline for suggestions and NRB Spokesman Narayan Prasad Paudel said the collected suggestions will be presented at the board meeting and decision on it will be made by the Board.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the telecommunication sector&rsquo;s report of FY 2072/73 issued by Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA), Ncell earned Rs 8.03 billion revenue through data services only. Whereas, Nepal Telecom, the state owned Telecommunication Company earned Rs 4.79 billion in the review period through its data services. The NTA report suggests that the revenue through data services has increased correspondingly with the increment of number of users every year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">During the last year, the number of users of Ncell data services was 5.855 million. Similarly, there were 7.602 million users of various internet services of NT. At present, nearly 13.7 million customers are using internet through four dozen internet service provider companies of Nepal.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the report, telecommunication service providers earn more revenue through voice call services than from data services. &nbsp;During the last FY, Ncell earned Rs 47.39 billion through voice call whereas NT earned Rs 34.87 billion through the voice call in review period. &nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">This suggestion from IMF came on the basis of its study and consultations it conducted with the stakeholders in February regarding the macroeconomic situation of Nepal, at a time when the government is making preparations for the budget of the next fiscal year 2017- 18.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The task force of the IMF also called &lsquo;Article IV&rsquo; had presented its report at its board on the basis of the indices of Nepali economy and consultations with the policy makers, regulatory bodies and the private sector.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;The IMF press release states that it is appropriate for Nepal to bring a budget as per the structure of midterm expenditure rather than a large budget that is out of its spending capacity.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">This suggestion is noteworthy in the context that a tendency continues for bringing a big budget by violating the National Planning Commission (NPC) ceiling every year. The budget that is brought to show off to the opposition and to raise high hopes among the people has only increased consumer expectations and prices. The IMF, indicating this, has said such budget risks inflation and instability in exchange rate in economy. &nbsp;The IMF has given its view in favour of controlled monetary policy for minimizing the risks of weak implementation of a large budget.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The Fund said the government should adopt a strict strategy to control in monetary policy so as to control inflation by minimizing risks of expansive financial policy. The Fund also said the central bank should also be alert in the instability of exchange rate caused by a bigger budget at a time when remittances inflow is coming down. However, the fund has lauded the interest corridor implemented by the central bank since last year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;The Fund statement says that the central bank should fix the minimum limitation of interest rate to make the interest corridor effective and to stop the fluctuation of interest rate in the financial sector. &nbsp;The IMF has also suggested giving continuity to the Financial Sector Reform Programme by the government for risk minimization in financial sector due to the unproductive sector loans.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">It mentioned that implementation side is a impediment to&nbsp; economic growth even if there is enough possibility of high economic growth in Nepal and suggested to attract investment from the private sector in roads, hydropower projects and large infrastructures for attaining high, sustained and&nbsp; inclusive economic growth.</p>

The national flag carrier is set to release nearly 35 percent of the total amount as the first installment. AAR, the American company bagged a global bidding by beating ten other companies. According to the NAC, the A 330-200 series airbuses will have 250-280 seats.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Both Airbuses to arrive by second quarter of 2018</strong></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the agreement between NAC and AAR, the airbuses will be handed over to Nepal by the second quarter of 2018. With the additions, NAC will have five airbuses for international flights. Presently, NAC is flying eight destinations with its one Boeing 757-200 and two 320-200 series narrow body airbuses. NAC is planning to serve new destinations including South Korea, Japan, Australia and Saudi Arabia with the addition of the two airbuses.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The banks put forth this demand with the central bank after they were asked for suggestions regarding the provision on interest rate fixation and review through a Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) concept paper on March 16.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The central bank has urged the banks to send suggestions while making public its own concept on only increasing interest rate twice a year in loans and informing debtors at least 45 days in advance if there is a need to increase the interest rate of loan of more than one year of loan period, and increasing interest rate of short period or that of renewable loans by informing a month earlier.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The NRB concept includes banks should inform the clients on various kinds of fees, annual and periodic interest rates as well as the method and basis of calculation of interest rate.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The banks&rsquo; suggestions were sent through the Nepal Bankers Association (NBA), said Association Vice Chairman and Nepal Bangladesh Bank Chief Executive Officer Gyanendra Dhungana. The association has 28 banks associated with it. Other suggestions by the Association are right to increase interest rate when desired saying that only 30 days&rsquo; notice was enough for increasing interest rates.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&nbsp;Likewise, the 55 development banks of the Development Bankers Association (DBA) have also suggested two month deadline for increasing or reducing interest rate as per the market status, said Association Chairman and Kailash Development Bank CEO Krishna Raj Lamichhane. He said they should not be forced to specify interest rate ceiling in an open economy.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Likewise, the 33 finance companies of &lsquo;C&rsquo; class have also agreed to the suggestions by the Nepal Bankers Association (NBA) and have not sent separate suggestions, said Finance Company Association Chairman and Goodwill Finance CEO Sarojkaji Tuladhar.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">&nbsp;NRB has given seven-day deadline for suggestions and NRB Spokesman Narayan Prasad Paudel said the collected suggestions will be presented at the board meeting and decision on it will be made by the Board.</p>

According to a government research, due to high demand and use of internet, Ncell has earned the highest revenue.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the telecommunication sector&rsquo;s report of FY 2072/73 issued by Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA), Ncell earned Rs 8.03 billion revenue through data services only. Whereas, Nepal Telecom, the state owned Telecommunication Company earned Rs 4.79 billion in the review period through its data services. The NTA report suggests that the revenue through data services has increased correspondingly with the increment of number of users every year.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">During the last year, the number of users of Ncell data services was 5.855 million. Similarly, there were 7.602 million users of various internet services of NT. At present, nearly 13.7 million customers are using internet through four dozen internet service provider companies of Nepal.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">As per the report, telecommunication service providers earn more revenue through voice call services than from data services. &nbsp;During the last FY, Ncell earned Rs 47.39 billion through voice call whereas NT earned Rs 34.87 billion through the voice call in review period. &nbsp;</p>
