<p>
	Three months after its formation, the Khil Raj Regmi-led Interim Election Government on thursday finally announced November 19 as the date for holding fresh Constituent Assembly (CA) elections. The cabinet meeting also forwarded the ordinance on amending the Election of Members of the Constituent Assembly Act, 2013 to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav for approval. The president approved the ordinance on Friday.The Interim Election Council Ministers had forwarded the election-related ordinance after removing the proposed threshold provision. Though the EC had earlier proposed that a political party must secure 1.5 percent of the total valid vote cast in the election in order to claim seat allocations under proportional representation, the constitutional body had later reduced the figure to one percent following objections by fringe political parties. </p>
<p>
	The government has also excluded the proposed provision that a candidate should disclose his/her property details and state whether or not he/she is a defendant in any court case filed by the governement. However, the ordinance has barred candidates who have already been handed down final verdicts of guilty by a court for involvements in criminal case. Those who have been handed down final sentences by the courts for involvement in criminal cases including corruption, rape, murder, passport misuse, money laundering, drug smuggling and human trafficking, or have been black-listed for bank related offense, cannot file candidacy. </p>

	Meanwhile The Election Commission has said that it is all prepared for the polls and will move ahead by creating an election- friendly environment</p>

	Chairman of the Interim Election Council Khilraj Regmi said in a televised address to the nation Friday evening that the sole purpose of the government is to ensure the election as scheduled. He added that the government will do its best to conduct the elections in a free and fair manner and make it inclusive. Regmi addressed the nation a day after the government set November 19 as the date for the proposed Constituent Assembly (CA) election.<br />

	Government has decided to set up food depots in Dadheldura disctrict to provide relief to the victims of the last week’s floods in the Far-Western region. The disaster has displaced 231 families (1,155 people) and affecting 837 families (4,175 people). A total of 25 people have died four injured and 11 missing, claims International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. <br />
	<br />
	A meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Leela Mani Poudyal and participated by secretaries from the Ministries of Home, Commerce and Finance and a representative of the Nepal Army, decided to set up depots for the convenience of flood and landslide victims. Depots of the National Trading Corporation and Salt Trading Corporation will be set up and food supply will resume in areas that lack a road network.The government also decided to use Nepal Army helicopters to transport food items such as rice, pulses, cooking oil, salt and other essentials and relief packages. Meanwhile, the government on Friday released Rs 500 million for the reconstruction of physical infrastructure in the flood-hit areas of Darchula district. The meeting also decided to increase the annual budget of Central Natural Disaster Relief Committee (CNDRC) by Rs 100 million. <br />

	Meanwhile, Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala has asked all active members of the party to donate at least Rs50 per member for the people affected by flood and landslides in far western Nepal. Issuing a press statement on Friday, Koirala asked all active members living both within Nepal and abroad to compulsorily donate this amount. <br />
	<br />
	Further, 700 Nepali pilgrims who were stranded after heavy rains triggered massive floods in India have been rescued by Indian authorities and rescue teams in Uttarakhand. Those rescued now residing in Haridwar. Meanwhile, the number of Nepalis missing in recent flooding in Uttarakhand is rising. More than 24 additional cases of missing Nepali pilgrims were reported on Friday.<br />

	Government has decided to set up food depots in Dadheldura disctrict to provide relief to the victims of the last week’s floods in the Far-Western region. The disaster has displaced 231 families (1,155 people) and affecting 837 families (4,175 people). A total of 25 people have died four injured and 11 missing, claims International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. <br />
	<br />
	A meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Leela Mani Poudyal and participated by secretaries from the Ministries of Home, Commerce and Finance and a representative of the Nepal Army, decided to set up depots for the convenience of flood and landslide victims. Depots of the National Trading Corporation and Salt Trading Corporation will be set up and food supply will resume in areas that lack a road network.The government also decided to use Nepal Army helicopters to transport food items such as rice, pulses, cooking oil, salt and other essentials and relief packages. Meanwhile, the government on Friday released Rs 500 million for the reconstruction of physical infrastructure in the flood-hit areas of Darchula district. The meeting also decided to increase the annual budget of Central Natural Disaster Relief Committee (CNDRC) by Rs 100 million. <br />

	Meanwhile, Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala has asked all active members of the party to donate at least Rs50 per member for the people affected by flood and landslides in far western Nepal. Issuing a press statement on Friday, Koirala asked all active members living both within Nepal and abroad to compulsorily donate this amount. <br />

	Further, 700 Nepali pilgrims who were stranded after heavy rains triggered massive floods in India have been rescued by Indian authorities and rescue teams in Uttarakhand. Those rescued now residing in Haridwar. Meanwhile, the number of Nepalis missing in recent flooding in Uttarakhand is rising. More than 24 additional cases of missing Nepali pilgrims were reported on Friday.<br />
