The updated NTIS unveiled by the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) on September 29 has stressed on searching new markets for IT and BPO sector. As per the official stastistics, export of such services was registered at USD 30- 35 million in 2014. The government has aimed to increase the export of such services to USD 100 million by the next five years. Along with the sectors, the strategy has also set new goals for foreign employment and tourism sector. </p> <p style="text-align:justify">The government has announced the five years plan with an objective to increase trade and export capacity. “The major objective of the strategy is to increase the GDP to 4.5 percent from 0.77 percent within the next five years,” said Toya Narayan Gyawali, Assistant Secretary of Ministry of Commerce.</p> <p style="text-align:justify">The updated NTIS has also prioritised export of nine products and three services in order to encourage trade and export.
