The Coffee Shop at Hotel Annapurna has recently made some delicious new additions to its menu. The additions come in the form of 41 new dishes by Chef Brian Swiger. Swiger specializes in Italian and Creole cuisine, and the same reflects in his dishes. The menu of The Coffee Shop is now heavily influenced by the tastes of Southern United States, which is quite a rarity in Kathmandu.

According to Swiger, the cuisine pulls from many regions and cuisines like Portuguese, African and French. “The cuisine is quite a spicy one, and makes extensive use of sea food, pork, cheese and spices,” says Swiger. The new items on the menu range from soups to sandwiches, pizzas and numerous entrees.

Some of the signature dishes by Swiger include Creole Barbeque Shrimp, Pork Confit Wonton, Mexican Tortilla Soup and Catfish Po’ Boy among numerous others. The Catfish Po’ Boy is a delicious baguette sandwich with corn breaded fried catfish and remoulade sauce. Cuban sandwich is also recommended by the Chef. The sandwich comes with ham and shredded pork, cheddar, freshly pickled cucumber and mustard on focaccia. South-west Egg Roll is another interesting dish. It is a Mexican style spring roll with fillings of chicken, corn, spinach and cheddar. Chimichurri Pork Chop and Shrimp Creole are other tasty entrees.

There are numerous pasta and pizza varieties on the menu as well. Not to miss here is Creole Pasta, tagliatelle in a creamy spicy barbeque sauce with option of vegetables, chicken and jumbo shrimp. Pizzas on the new menu include margherita, barbecued chicken, alfredo, and Hawaiian among others. You can also make your pizza more delicious with various topping options like caramelized onions, shitake, green peppers, olives, artichokes, ham and many others.

The menu offers a wide range of delicacies to choose from. Rush to The Coffee Shop to enjoy the Creole and Tex-Mex cuisine, which is quite a rarity in Kathmandu.
