Established in the late 1960s with unique round cottages set amidst a lush garden, the Fish Tail Lodge is one of the pioneers in the hotel industry of Pokhara. It has been 45 years of its establishment; and the services provided by the Lodge are only growing better.  Fish Tail Lodge, situated on a peninsula with the Phewa Lake on one side and a forest-covered hill on the other, offers spectacular views all around.

Avik JB Singh, Sales and Marketing Manager at Fish Tail Lodge said, “Fish Tail Lodge is the only resort in Nepal that offers all the profit remaining after operational costs to CSR. The amount is deposited in Princess Jayanti Memorial Trust (JMT). The trust provides free cardiac care to under-privileged Nepalis and conducts various programmes to raise public awareness regarding the cause of heart disease in Nepal,” To support the goals of the trust, holdings in the Lodge have been endowed to the trust.

Previously owned by the then royal family, the Lodge is now owned by the trust. Fish Tail Lodge is responsible to the board of JMT and Hotel Annapurna fulfils the managerial responsibility.

Well known for its exclusive hospitality, the Lodge offers quality services to its customers. As it is a unique lake resort, guests are received and transported to the Lodge on its shuttle-floats or boats. The Lodge is totally excluded from the city area, making the guests more close to nature, finding peace, serenity and astounding beauty.

“There are 48 standard Garden terrace rooms owing a luxurious stay with all necessary facilities, 12 deluxe rooms, and five heritage rooms with private balconies offering excellent mountain and lake views. Additional 60 comfortable guestrooms are also available with modern amenities assembling a pleasant place to stay,” informed Singh.

Aiming to fulfill the desires of the visitors, the Lodge organizes a cultural programme every evening. Besides, adventurous activities like hiking, pony riding etc are also offered to the guests. Singh said, “Europeans occupy major portion of our business. We have had the honour of hosting world leaders, royal family members and heads of Government like The Prince of Wales, Princess Anne of England, Crown Prince Narihito of Japan, Former US President Jimmy Carter and various other personalities from India, Thailand, Japan etc.

“We generally enjoy 65 per cent occupancy as we are one of the oldest Lodges of Pokhara with high demand,” Singh said. The rate of standard room is USD 170 including taxes, USD 190 plus applicable taxes for deluxe rooms and USD 300 plus taxes for heritage rooms. The Lodge further aims to improve its services by offering luxurious services and gratifying the needs of its customers.
