The two Harbin aircraft with call sign 9N-AQ and 9N-AKV were handed to Nepal Airlines by AVIC International.</p> <p>The 17-seater aircraft had arrived in Kathmandu on February 13 under the command of Chinese pilots.</p> <p>NAC had decided to procure the aircraft considering its ability to land on narrow air strips in rural areas of Nepal. NAC aims to operate the Harbin aircraft in the mountainous airfields of the country which are difficult to reach.</p> <p>The aircraft had received aircraft operation certificate and customs clearance from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) before the handover ceremony.</p> <p>The aircraft were procured in line with the 2012 joint agreement between China and Nepal. Chinese officials had agreed to assist Nepal with two complementary aircraft in purchase of four China-made aircraft and had also supported the procurement of the four aircraft by providing soft loans at reasonable interest rate. At present, all six aircraft including two MA-60 and 4 Harbin Y-12 have already arrived in Nepal.</p> <p>In the first phase, one MA-60 and one Harbin Y-12 under Chinese grant had landed in Nepal on April 2014. NAC aims to operate the Harbin aircraft in the mountainous airfields of the country which are difficult to reach.</p> <p>The aircraft had received aircraft operation certificate and customs clearance from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) before the handover ceremony.</p> <p>The aircraft were procured in line with the 2012 joint agreement between China and Nepal. Chinese officials had agreed to assist Nepal with two complementary aircraft in purchase of four China-made aircraft and had also supported the procurement of the four aircraft by providing soft loans at reasonable interest rate. At present, all six aircraft including two MA-60 and 4 Harbin Y-12 have already arrived in Nepal.</p> <p>In the first phase, one MA-60 and one Harbin Y-12 under Chinese grant had landed in Nepal on April 2014. Chinese officials had agreed to assist Nepal with two complementary aircraft in purchase of four China-made aircraft and had also supported the procurement of the four aircraft by providing soft loans at reasonable interest rate. At present, all six aircraft including two MA-60 and 4 Harbin Y-12 have already arrived in Nepal.</p> <p>In the first phase, one MA-60 and one Harbin Y-12 under Chinese grant had landed in Nepal on April 2014. NAC aims to operate the Harbin aircraft in the mountainous airfields of the country which are difficult to reach.</p> <p>The aircraft had received aircraft operation certificate and customs clearance from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) before the handover ceremony.</p> <p>The aircraft were procured in line with the 2012 joint agreement between China and Nepal. Chinese officials had agreed to assist Nepal with two complementary aircraft in purchase of four China-made aircraft and had also supported the procurement of the four aircraft by providing soft loans at reasonable interest rate. At present, all six aircraft including two MA-60 and 4 Harbin Y-12 have already arrived in Nepal.</p> <p>In the first phase, one MA-60 and one Harbin Y-12 under Chinese grant had landed in Nepal on April 2014.
