			'content' => '<p>June 29: Nepal Airlines Cooperation, the national flag carrier of Nepal, has landed its first ever Airbus A-330 aircraft in Kathmandu. The wide-body aircraft landed in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu on June 28 after completing 9 hours long voyage after taking off from Toulouse, France.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The aircraft has been named &#39;Annapurna&#39; by the airlines authorities.</p>

<p>NAC bought the wide-body aircraft for USD 10.4 billion from AAR Corp of the United State. Nepal Airlines had earlier signed an agreement to procure two factory-made A330 wide-body aircraft with AAR Corp. The American company has informed to deliver the second aircraft within 90 days.</p>

<p>NAC had acquired Rs 12 billion loan from each of Employees Provident Fund and Citizen Investment Trust for the purchase of the aircraft.</p>

<p>The aircraft has 274 seats for the passengers. The seats of Annapurna A330 aircraft has been divided into two classes - business and economy. The business class&#39; seat configuration has been named as Shangrila which has 18 seats and the remaining 256 seats of the aircraft have been separated for the economy class.</p>

<p>Managing Director of NAC, Saugat Ratna Kansakar, and Spokesperson Rabindra Shrestha along with 17 other members of the airlines arrived with the A330 aircraft in Kathmandu. The aircraft was welcomed with a grand ceremony and water cannon.</p>

<p>Kansakar, during the welcome ceremony, reiterated that the airlines is determined to improve its service to satisfy its passengers by providing quality service. Additionally, he also informed that the airlines will operate domestic flights to each of the functional airports of the nation.</p>

<p>Rabindra Shrestha, spokesperson of NAC, informed that the airlines aims to start the operation of the A330 aircraft from July after receive the approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).</p>

<p>He also informed that the aircraft will fly to Dubai and Qatar in its first phase and then to Japan, South Korea and Saudi Arab in the second phase.</p>

<p>NAC in a statement informed that it has invested Rs 21.9 billion for the purchase of the two Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft.</p>

<p>&quot;Open defecation poses a serious threat not only to individuals but to the society as a whole. Open defecation can lead to illnesses such as diarrhea, malnutrition, and various water-borne diseases. Dealing with the menace of open defecation necessitates a concerted effort. After the 2015 earthquake, achieving the goal of &lsquo;sanitation for all&rsquo; has become even more challenging. This &ldquo;CASE CHALLENGE&rdquo; is aimed at educating and inspiring the youth to deliberate on digital solutions to address this challenge within the country. The intent is to eliminate open defecation across communities, in order to accelerate the country&rsquo;s progress through digitization,&quot; the statement said.</p>

<p>Talking about the need to address the challenge of open defecation in an exponential way, Frost &amp; Sullivan&rsquo;s Senior Partner and Managing Director of APAC, Manoj Menon said, &quot;We live in a digital era and companies like Google, Amazon, Facebook, and UBER have all unleashed the power of digital solutions combining them with innovative business models to help solve some of the biggest challenges facing humanity. There is a great opportunity to apply the same thinking to addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing developing nations. We have to think of innovative ways to solve the challenge of open defecation in an exponential way.&nbsp; We need to leverage the power of digital technologies to have a much higher impact for the same resources we invest in.&quot;</p>

<p>Participants will need to leverage the power of digital technologies and facilitate solutions. They need to ensure that their solutions cover the following areas:</p>

<p>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Accelerate reduction in open defecation as compared to current initiatives</p>

<p>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Increase citizen participation in Nepal&rsquo;s SDGs</p>

<p>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ensure that people do not return to open defecation in the long term</p>

<p>According to the company, nominations for participating in the &ldquo;CASE CHALLENGE&rdquo; will be accepted till July 18. This will be followed by an assessment process slated for July 25, which will be conducted by a panel of jury and thought leaders. The assessment will be based on:</p>

<p>1)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Quality of analysis, clarity of the presentation, and solution flow</p>

<p>2)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Use of digital technology</p>

<p>3)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Creativity in developing out-of-the box solutions</p>

<p>4)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Actionable recommendations</p>

<p>5)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Language and completeness of the solution</p>

<p>The jury will further shortlist the top three teams/cases and announce the finalists by July 29. These teams will be mentored and coached by Frost &amp; Sullivan to enhance their case development. The top three finalists will be announced on August 3 at Frost &amp; Sullivan&rsquo;s Digital Nepal Summit, where they will have an opportunity to interact with government agencies, private sector companies, NGOs, and other supporting partners of the Digital Nepal program.</p>

In a programme organised to mark the launch of report titled &lsquo;Outlook of Housing Market of Kathmandu&rsquo; in the capital on June 27, the stakeholders of the real estate and housing business emphasized on the importance of cooperative housing and apartments. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The report was presented by Sopon Pornchokchai, director of Thai Real Estate Business School (TREBS), Bangkok, Thailand. According to him, the trend of buying residential apartments in Kathmandu has increased in the recent years compared to the housing construction. &nbsp;The programme was attended by representatives of banks, architects, real estate and housing entrepreneurs, experts and government officials.</p>

<p>A panel discussion was held during the event where participants discussed on different aspects of housing business, problems and ways to address the issues.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>Sarita Shrestha Maskey, deputy director general at the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC) said that there is a need to build infrastructures and facilities for housing in order to fulfill the growing demand. Similarly, Om Dharnanda Rajopadhyaya, board member at the Institute for Urban and Regional Studies (NIURS) highlighted the reliability of the apartments in Nepal. According to him, the apartments in the capital were able to withstand the destructive force of the earthquake three years ago and the damages to the infrastructures were of temporary in nature.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Structural safety of the infrastructures must not be compromised. Cooperative housing can be an alternative for the present challenge posed by shrinking land availability for housing,&rdquo; he said. According to him, cooperative housing has 90 percent potential in the housing sector.</p>

<p>Rajan Singh Bhandari, CEO of Citizens Bank International, said that the real estate is a fully secured sector for investment and the government should not take it as unproductive sector. &ldquo;Wide roads and attractive infrastructures are the factors that ensure development,&rdquo; he mentioned. Bhandari suggested to the government to allow FDI in the real estate sector in order to address the credit facilities demanded by the entrepreneurs.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>In his concluding remarks, Om Rajbhandary, executive chairman of Brihat Group, thanked the participants. He said that urban development is integrally tied to the housing development. &ldquo;The damages to the apartments during the 2015 earthquakes were nominal. There is a need to address legal issues to help foster the housing sector,&rdquo; he noted.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to Brihat Group, the report was prepared based on various facts and information from housing companies, concerned government authorities and stakeholders, institutions and customers. The research was conducted from March 17-23.</p>

<p>An average annual return on housing market shows that around 12.5 percent investment is done in housing and apartment sector. The study shows that average income of rental is increased by 3.2 percent and the property cost is increased by 9.5 percent.</p>

<p>So far, foreign investors have pledged to invest Rs 52.3 billion in the productive sector of the country in current fiscal year 2074-75. This is four times higher than the pledged amount in the corresponding period of last fiscal year. The energy sector has attracted the highest investment. However, other productive sectors too have witnessed tremendous increment.</p>

<p>According to the Department of Industry, majority of foreign investors have committed to establish industries in the productive sector. Foreign investors have committed to establish 60 large-scale industries in the current fiscal year.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Similarly the investors have also committed to invest additional 277 industries related to agriculture, forest, tourism, service, communication and mining sectors. Out of this, the service sector and tourism sector have attracted highest number of investors with commitment for the establishing 104 and 125 industries respectively.</p>

<p>Establishment of industries in the productive sector will benefit the local population with employment opportunities. The proposed industries will create job opportunities for 12,000 individuals and this will boost the economy. Thus, the country will become prosperous, says Dr Chandra Mani Adhikari, an economist. The increasing interest and commitment of foreign investors is a sign of development of the country, he added.</p>

The wide-body aircraft landed in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu on June 28 after completing 9 hours long voyage after taking off from Toulouse, France.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The aircraft has been named &#39;Annapurna&#39; by the airlines authorities.</p>

<p>NAC bought the wide-body aircraft for USD 10.4 billion from AAR Corp of the United State. Nepal Airlines had earlier signed an agreement to procure two factory-made A330 wide-body aircraft with AAR Corp. The American company has informed to deliver the second aircraft within 90 days.</p>

<p>NAC had acquired Rs 12 billion loan from each of Employees Provident Fund and Citizen Investment Trust for the purchase of the aircraft.</p>

<p>The aircraft has 274 seats for the passengers. The seats of Annapurna A330 aircraft has been divided into two classes - business and economy. The business class&#39; seat configuration has been named as Shangrila which has 18 seats and the remaining 256 seats of the aircraft have been separated for the economy class.</p>

<p>Managing Director of NAC, Saugat Ratna Kansakar, and Spokesperson Rabindra Shrestha along with 17 other members of the airlines arrived with the A330 aircraft in Kathmandu. The aircraft was welcomed with a grand ceremony and water cannon.</p>

<p>Kansakar, during the welcome ceremony, reiterated that the airlines is determined to improve its service to satisfy its passengers by providing quality service. Additionally, he also informed that the airlines will operate domestic flights to each of the functional airports of the nation.</p>

<p>Rabindra Shrestha, spokesperson of NAC, informed that the airlines aims to start the operation of the A330 aircraft from July after receive the approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).</p>

<p>He also informed that the aircraft will fly to Dubai and Qatar in its first phase and then to Japan, South Korea and Saudi Arab in the second phase.</p>

<p>NAC in a statement informed that it has invested Rs 21.9 billion for the purchase of the two Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft.</p>

<p>According to the company, nominations for participating in the &ldquo;CASE CHALLENGE&rdquo; will be accepted till July 18. This will be followed by an assessment process slated for July 25, which will be conducted by a panel of jury and thought leaders. The assessment will be based on:</p>

<p>1)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Quality of analysis, clarity of the presentation, and solution flow</p>

<p>4)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Actionable recommendations</p>

<p>5)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Language and completeness of the solution</p>

<p>The jury will further shortlist the top three teams/cases and announce the finalists by July 29. These teams will be mentored and coached by Frost &amp; Sullivan to enhance their case development. <p>Qatar Airways said its new four-times weekly seasonal services to M&aacute;laga will be served by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner until September 16. Qatar Airways currently operates direct double-daily flights to Madrid and Barcelona.</p>

<p>&quot;The four weekly seasonal flights to M&aacute;laga-Costa del Sol Airport will be operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, featuring 22 seats in Business Class and 232 seats in Economy Class. Passengers on board will be able to enjoy the airline&acute;s superior entertainment system, Oryx One, offering up to 4,000 entertainment options to choose from,&quot; the statement said.</p>

<p>Qatar Airways currently holds the title of &lsquo;Airline of The Year&rsquo; as awarded by the prestigious 2017 Skytrax World Airline Awards. In a programme organised to mark the launch of report titled &lsquo;Outlook of Housing Market of Kathmandu&rsquo; in the capital on June 27, the stakeholders of the real estate and housing business emphasized on the importance of cooperative housing and apartments. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The report was presented by Sopon Pornchokchai, director of Thai Real Estate Business School (TREBS), Bangkok, Thailand. According to him, the trend of buying residential apartments in Kathmandu has increased in the recent years compared to the housing construction. &nbsp;The programme was attended by representatives of banks, architects, real estate and housing entrepreneurs, experts and government officials.</p>

<p>A panel discussion was held during the event where participants discussed on different aspects of housing business, problems and ways to address the issues.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>Sarita Shrestha Maskey, deputy director general at the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC) said that there is a need to build infrastructures and facilities for housing in order to fulfill the growing demand. Similarly, Om Dharnanda Rajopadhyaya, board member at the Institute for Urban and Regional Studies (NIURS) highlighted the reliability of the apartments in Nepal. According to him, the apartments in the capital were able to withstand the destructive force of the earthquake three years ago and the damages to the infrastructures were of temporary in nature.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Structural safety of the infrastructures must not be compromised. Cooperative housing can be an alternative for the present challenge posed by shrinking land availability for housing,&rdquo; he said. According to him, cooperative housing has 90 percent potential in the housing sector.</p>

<p>Rajan Singh Bhandari, CEO of Citizens Bank International, said that the real estate is a fully secured sector for investment and the government should not take it as unproductive sector. &ldquo;Wide roads and attractive infrastructures are the factors that ensure development,&rdquo; he mentioned. Bhandari suggested to the government to allow FDI in the real estate sector in order to address the credit facilities demanded by the entrepreneurs.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>In his concluding remarks, Om Rajbhandary, executive chairman of Brihat Group, thanked the participants. He said that urban development is integrally tied to the housing development. &ldquo;The damages to the apartments during the 2015 earthquakes were nominal. There is a need to address legal issues to help foster the housing sector,&rdquo; he noted.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to Brihat Group, the report was prepared based on various facts and information from housing companies, concerned government authorities and stakeholders, institutions and customers. The research was conducted from March 17-23.</p>

<p>An average annual return on housing market shows that around 12.5 percent investment is done in housing and apartment sector. The study shows that average income of rental is increased by 3.2 percent and the property cost is increased by 9.5 percent.</p>

<p>So far, foreign investors have pledged to invest Rs 52.3 billion in the productive sector of the country in current fiscal year 2074-75. This is four times higher than the pledged amount in the corresponding period of last fiscal year. The energy sector has attracted the highest investment. However, other productive sectors too have witnessed tremendous increment.</p>

<p>According to the Department of Industry, majority of foreign investors have committed to establish industries in the productive sector. Foreign investors have committed to establish 60 large-scale industries in the current fiscal year.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Similarly the investors have also committed to invest additional 277 industries related to agriculture, forest, tourism, service, communication and mining sectors. Out of this, the service sector and tourism sector have attracted highest number of investors with commitment for the establishing 104 and 125 industries respectively.</p>

<p>Establishment of industries in the productive sector will benefit the local population with employment opportunities. The proposed industries will create job opportunities for 12,000 individuals and this will boost the economy. Thus, the country will become prosperous, says Dr Chandra Mani Adhikari, an economist. The increasing interest and commitment of foreign investors is a sign of development of the country, he added.</p>

The wide-body aircraft landed in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu on June 28 after completing 9 hours long voyage after taking off from Toulouse, France.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The aircraft has been named &#39;Annapurna&#39; by the airlines authorities.</p>

<p>NAC bought the wide-body aircraft for USD 10.4 billion from AAR Corp of the United State. Nepal Airlines had earlier signed an agreement to procure two factory-made A330 wide-body aircraft with AAR Corp. The American company has informed to deliver the second aircraft within 90 days.</p>

<p>NAC had acquired Rs 12 billion loan from each of Employees Provident Fund and Citizen Investment Trust for the purchase of the aircraft.</p>

<p>The aircraft has 274 seats for the passengers. The seats of Annapurna A330 aircraft has been divided into two classes - business and economy. The business class&#39; seat configuration has been named as Shangrila which has 18 seats and the remaining 256 seats of the aircraft have been separated for the economy class.</p>

<p>Managing Director of NAC, Saugat Ratna Kansakar, and Spokesperson Rabindra Shrestha along with 17 other members of the airlines arrived with the A330 aircraft in Kathmandu. The aircraft was welcomed with a grand ceremony and water cannon.</p>

<p>Kansakar, during the welcome ceremony, reiterated that the airlines is determined to improve its service to satisfy its passengers by providing quality service. Additionally, he also informed that the airlines will operate domestic flights to each of the functional airports of the nation.</p>

<p>Rabindra Shrestha, spokesperson of NAC, informed that the airlines aims to start the operation of the A330 aircraft from July after receive the approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).</p>

<p>He also informed that the aircraft will fly to Dubai and Qatar in its first phase and then to Japan, South Korea and Saudi Arab in the second phase.</p>

<p>NAC in a statement informed that it has invested Rs 21.9 billion for the purchase of the two Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft.</p>

<p>Talking about the need to address the challenge of open defecation in an exponential way, Frost &amp; Sullivan&rsquo;s Senior Partner and Managing Director of APAC, Manoj Menon said, &quot;We live in a digital era and companies like Google, Amazon, Facebook, and UBER have all unleashed the power of digital solutions combining them with innovative business models to help solve some of the biggest challenges facing humanity. <p>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ensure that people do not return to open defecation in the long term</p>

<p>According to the company, nominations for participating in the &ldquo;CASE CHALLENGE&rdquo; will be accepted till July 18. This will be followed by an assessment process slated for July 25, which will be conducted by a panel of jury and thought leaders. The assessment will be based on:</p>

<p>1)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Quality of analysis, clarity of the presentation, and solution flow</p>

<p>4)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Actionable recommendations</p>

<p>The jury will further shortlist the top three teams/cases and announce the finalists by July 29. These teams will be mentored and coached by Frost &amp; Sullivan to enhance their case development. In a programme organised to mark the launch of report titled &lsquo;Outlook of Housing Market of Kathmandu&rsquo; in the capital on June 27, the stakeholders of the real estate and housing business emphasized on the importance of cooperative housing and apartments. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The report was presented by Sopon Pornchokchai, director of Thai Real Estate Business School (TREBS), Bangkok, Thailand. According to him, the trend of buying residential apartments in Kathmandu has increased in the recent years compared to the housing construction. &nbsp;The programme was attended by representatives of banks, architects, real estate and housing entrepreneurs, experts and government officials.</p>

<p>A panel discussion was held during the event where participants discussed on different aspects of housing business, problems and ways to address the issues.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>Sarita Shrestha Maskey, deputy director general at the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC) said that there is a need to build infrastructures and facilities for housing in order to fulfill the growing demand. Similarly, Om Dharnanda Rajopadhyaya, board member at the Institute for Urban and Regional Studies (NIURS) highlighted the reliability of the apartments in Nepal. According to him, the apartments in the capital were able to withstand the destructive force of the earthquake three years ago and the damages to the infrastructures were of temporary in nature.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Structural safety of the infrastructures must not be compromised. Cooperative housing can be an alternative for the present challenge posed by shrinking land availability for housing,&rdquo; he said. According to him, cooperative housing has 90 percent potential in the housing sector.</p>

<p>Rajan Singh Bhandari, CEO of Citizens Bank International, said that the real estate is a fully secured sector for investment and the government should not take it as unproductive sector. &ldquo;Wide roads and attractive infrastructures are the factors that ensure development,&rdquo; he mentioned. Bhandari suggested to the government to allow FDI in the real estate sector in order to address the credit facilities demanded by the entrepreneurs.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>In his concluding remarks, Om Rajbhandary, executive chairman of Brihat Group, thanked the participants. He said that urban development is integrally tied to the housing development. &ldquo;The damages to the apartments during the 2015 earthquakes were nominal. There is a need to address legal issues to help foster the housing sector,&rdquo; he noted.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to Brihat Group, the report was prepared based on various facts and information from housing companies, concerned government authorities and stakeholders, institutions and customers. The research was conducted from March 17-23.</p>

<p>An average annual return on housing market shows that around 12.5 percent investment is done in housing and apartment sector. The study shows that average income of rental is increased by 3.2 percent and the property cost is increased by 9.5 percent.</p>

<p>So far, foreign investors have pledged to invest Rs 52.3 billion in the productive sector of the country in current fiscal year 2074-75. This is four times higher than the pledged amount in the corresponding period of last fiscal year. The energy sector has attracted the highest investment. However, other productive sectors too have witnessed tremendous increment.</p>

<p>According to the Department of Industry, majority of foreign investors have committed to establish industries in the productive sector. Foreign investors have committed to establish 60 large-scale industries in the current fiscal year.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Similarly the investors have also committed to invest additional 277 industries related to agriculture, forest, tourism, service, communication and mining sectors. Out of this, the service sector and tourism sector have attracted highest number of investors with commitment for the establishing 104 and 125 industries respectively.</p>

<p>Establishment of industries in the productive sector will benefit the local population with employment opportunities. The proposed industries will create job opportunities for 12,000 individuals and this will boost the economy. Thus, the country will become prosperous, says Dr Chandra Mani Adhikari, an economist. The increasing interest and commitment of foreign investors is a sign of development of the country, he added.</p>

The wide-body aircraft landed in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu on June 28 after completing 9 hours long voyage after taking off from Toulouse, France.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The aircraft has been named &#39;Annapurna&#39; by the airlines authorities.</p>

<p>NAC bought the wide-body aircraft for USD 10.4 billion from AAR Corp of the United State. Nepal Airlines had earlier signed an agreement to procure two factory-made A330 wide-body aircraft with AAR Corp. The American company has informed to deliver the second aircraft within 90 days.</p>

<p>NAC had acquired Rs 12 billion loan from each of Employees Provident Fund and Citizen Investment Trust for the purchase of the aircraft.</p>

<p>The aircraft has 274 seats for the passengers. The seats of Annapurna A330 aircraft has been divided into two classes - business and economy. The business class&#39; seat configuration has been named as Shangrila which has 18 seats and the remaining 256 seats of the aircraft have been separated for the economy class.</p>

<p>Managing Director of NAC, Saugat Ratna Kansakar, and Spokesperson Rabindra Shrestha along with 17 other members of the airlines arrived with the A330 aircraft in Kathmandu. The aircraft was welcomed with a grand ceremony and water cannon.</p>

<p>Kansakar, during the welcome ceremony, reiterated that the airlines is determined to improve its service to satisfy its passengers by providing quality service. Additionally, he also informed that the airlines will operate domestic flights to each of the functional airports of the nation.</p>

<p>Rabindra Shrestha, spokesperson of NAC, informed that the airlines aims to start the operation of the A330 aircraft from July after receive the approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).</p>

<p>He also informed that the aircraft will fly to Dubai and Qatar in its first phase and then to Japan, South Korea and Saudi Arab in the second phase.</p>

<p>NAC in a statement informed that it has invested Rs 21.9 billion for the purchase of the two Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft.</p>

Open defecation can lead to illnesses such as diarrhea, malnutrition, and various water-borne diseases. Dealing with the menace of open defecation necessitates a concerted effort. After the 2015 earthquake, achieving the goal of &lsquo;sanitation for all&rsquo; has become even more challenging. This &ldquo;CASE CHALLENGE&rdquo; is aimed at educating and inspiring the youth to deliberate on digital solutions to address this challenge within the country. The intent is to eliminate open defecation across communities, in order to accelerate the country&rsquo;s progress through digitization,&quot; the statement said.</p>

<p>Talking about the need to address the challenge of open defecation in an exponential way, Frost &amp; Sullivan&rsquo;s Senior Partner and Managing Director of APAC, Manoj Menon said, &quot;We live in a digital era and companies like Google, Amazon, Facebook, and UBER have all unleashed the power of digital solutions combining them with innovative business models to help solve some of the biggest challenges facing humanity. There is a great opportunity to apply the same thinking to addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing developing nations. We have to think of innovative ways to solve the challenge of open defecation in an exponential way.&nbsp; We need to leverage the power of digital technologies to have a much higher impact for the same resources we invest in.&quot;</p>

<p>Participants will need to leverage the power of digital technologies and facilitate solutions. They need to ensure that their solutions cover the following areas:</p>

<p>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Accelerate reduction in open defecation as compared to current initiatives</p>

<p>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Increase citizen participation in Nepal&rsquo;s SDGs</p>

<p>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Ensure that people do not return to open defecation in the long term</p>

<p>According to the company, nominations for participating in the &ldquo;CASE CHALLENGE&rdquo; will be accepted till July 18. This will be followed by an assessment process slated for July 25, which will be conducted by a panel of jury and thought leaders. The assessment will be based on:</p>

<p>1)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Quality of analysis, clarity of the presentation, and solution flow</p>

<p>2)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Use of digital technology</p>

<p>3)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Creativity in developing out-of-the box solutions</p>

<p>4)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Actionable recommendations</p>

<p>5)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Language and completeness of the solution</p>

<p>The jury will further shortlist the top three teams/cases and announce the finalists by July 29. These teams will be mentored and coached by Frost &amp; Sullivan to enhance their case development. The top three finalists will be announced on August 3 at Frost &amp; Sullivan&rsquo;s Digital Nepal Summit, where they will have an opportunity to interact with government agencies, private sector companies, NGOs, and other supporting partners of the Digital Nepal program.</p>

In a programme organised to mark the launch of report titled &lsquo;Outlook of Housing Market of Kathmandu&rsquo; in the capital on June 27, the stakeholders of the real estate and housing business emphasized on the importance of cooperative housing and apartments. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The report was presented by Sopon Pornchokchai, director of Thai Real Estate Business School (TREBS), Bangkok, Thailand. According to him, the trend of buying residential apartments in Kathmandu has increased in the recent years compared to the housing construction. &nbsp;The programme was attended by representatives of banks, architects, real estate and housing entrepreneurs, experts and government officials.</p>

<p>A panel discussion was held during the event where participants discussed on different aspects of housing business, problems and ways to address the issues.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>Sarita Shrestha Maskey, deputy director general at the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC) said that there is a need to build infrastructures and facilities for housing in order to fulfill the growing demand. Similarly, Om Dharnanda Rajopadhyaya, board member at the Institute for Urban and Regional Studies (NIURS) highlighted the reliability of the apartments in Nepal. According to him, the apartments in the capital were able to withstand the destructive force of the earthquake three years ago and the damages to the infrastructures were of temporary in nature.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Structural safety of the infrastructures must not be compromised. Cooperative housing can be an alternative for the present challenge posed by shrinking land availability for housing,&rdquo; he said. According to him, cooperative housing has 90 percent potential in the housing sector.</p>

<p>Rajan Singh Bhandari, CEO of Citizens Bank International, said that the real estate is a fully secured sector for investment and the government should not take it as unproductive sector. &ldquo;Wide roads and attractive infrastructures are the factors that ensure development,&rdquo; he mentioned. Bhandari suggested to the government to allow FDI in the real estate sector in order to address the credit facilities demanded by the entrepreneurs.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>In his concluding remarks, Om Rajbhandary, executive chairman of Brihat Group, thanked the participants. He said that urban development is integrally tied to the housing development. &ldquo;The damages to the apartments during the 2015 earthquakes were nominal. There is a need to address legal issues to help foster the housing sector,&rdquo; he noted.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to Brihat Group, the report was prepared based on various facts and information from housing companies, concerned government authorities and stakeholders, institutions and customers. The research was conducted from March 17-23.</p>

<p>An average annual return on housing market shows that around 12.5 percent investment is done in housing and apartment sector. The study shows that average income of rental is increased by 3.2 percent and the property cost is increased by 9.5 percent.</p>

Rising number of newly registered companies and the pledged amount of foreign investors recorded at the Office of the Company Registrar shows the increasing interest of foreign investors.</p>

<p>This increase in interest by foreign investors is expected to bring positive changes for development of the productive sector.</p>

<p>So far, foreign investors have pledged to invest Rs 52.3 billion in the productive sector of the country in current fiscal year 2074-75. This is four times higher than the pledged amount in the corresponding period of last fiscal year. The energy sector has attracted the highest investment. However, other productive sectors too have witnessed tremendous increment.</p>

<p>According to the Department of Industry, majority of foreign investors have committed to establish industries in the productive sector. Foreign investors have committed to establish 60 large-scale industries in the current fiscal year.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Similarly the investors have also committed to invest additional 277 industries related to agriculture, forest, tourism, service, communication and mining sectors. Out of this, the service sector and tourism sector have attracted highest number of investors with commitment for the establishing 104 and 125 industries respectively.</p>

<p>Establishment of industries in the productive sector will benefit the local population with employment opportunities. The proposed industries will create job opportunities for 12,000 individuals and this will boost the economy. Thus, the country will become prosperous, says Dr Chandra Mani Adhikari, an economist. The increasing interest and commitment of foreign investors is a sign of development of the country, he added.</p>
