As per those laws, foreign companies cannot provide insurance service in Nepal. But the proposed Insurance Bill has omitted such provision.</p> <p>However, Nepali insurance companies have expressed their dissatisfaction towards the provisions of the bill. They argued that if the bill is endorsed without any amendment, the Nepali insurances companies will face losses.</p> <p>“If the bill is approved with such provision, foreign insurance companies can possibly run insurance business in Nepal. The Nepali insurance companies will have to bear great loss if this happens. They argued that if the bill is endorsed without any amendment, the Nepali insurances companies will face losses.</p> <p>“If the bill is approved with such provision, foreign insurance companies can possibly run insurance business in Nepal. The Nepali insurance companies will have to bear great loss if this happens. Even the domestic reinsurance companies won’t get market here,” said one of the CEOs of an insurance company adding that millions of rupees will go out from Nepal through premium when foreign companies are allowed to run insurance business in the country.
