With this, the customers of Manjushree Finance will be able to initiate payment transaction up to Rs 100,000 through www.connectips.com and up to Rs 5,000 through mobile application.</p>

<p>According to NCHL, the customers can enroll and link their bank accounts(s) with one-time verification from their respective banks, after which they can use the payment services including fund transfer, online payment and creditor/biller payment.</p>

<p>Currently the services related to online fund transfer, government revenue payment, credit card bill payment, mobile wallet top-up and share broker payment are available through online (web) version and mobile application, reads a press statement issued by NCHL. All such transactions are processed directly from the bank accounts and do not require any intermediary.</p>

<p>The online payment system has been subscribed by 44 banks and financial institutions among which 33 are now in operation.</p>

<p>Releasing the report entitled &lsquo;Nepal Development Update&rsquo; in Kathmandu on Thursday (November 1), the World Bank said that the government target to achieve 10 percent growth in investment by 2021 is possible with growth driven by production.</p>

<p>According to the report, the economic growth of the country stood at 6.3 percent in the Fiscal Year 2017/2018 despite less favorable monsoon.</p>

<p>Speaking at the report launch, Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada said that Nepal should achieve a sustained economic growth of more than seven percent to achieve the target of transforming the country into middle-income country with per capita income of at least USD 5,000 by 2030.</p>

<p>&ldquo;A growth rate of seven percent could be enough for Nepal to graduate into a developing country. But, the growth rate of seven percent is not enough for becoming a middle-income country within the period,&rdquo; he said, stressing on the need to enhance productivity of capital and labour, better use of technology, better management of companies and improving industrial relations for unlocking the country&#39;s growth potential.</p>

<p>Nepal aims to graduate into a developing country by 2022 and to a middle-income country by 2030. He further added that the private sector should play a crucial role for achieving these targets.</p>

<p>Similarly, Qimiao Fan, World Bank&rsquo;s country director for Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal, said the private sector investment is a must to generate necessary resources needed for transforming the country into middle-income country by 2030.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The country must ensure political and macro-economic stability, improve quality of infrastructure, and create transparent and predictable legal policy and environment to attract private sector investment and foreign direct investment,&rdquo; Qimiao said.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Suraj Vaidya, president of Vaidya&#39;s Organization of Industries, said that the private sector is more concerned about the implementation of laws and policies than their formulation as many laws are not implemented.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The World Bank report suggested Nepal to make paying taxes easier by simplifying the process of social security related payments.</p>

<p>&ldquo;This is the reason that the recent labor act has made the process more cumbersome and contributed to pushing the country down five places to 110th in the global ranking for the ease of doing business,&rdquo; says the World Bank Group&rsquo;s Doing Business 2019: Training for Reform report, released on October 31.</p>

<p>According to the annual ranking, Nepal made paying taxes more difficult through the 2017 Labour Act that introduced a labour gratuity, medical insurance and accident insurance paid by employers in a way that places a larger administrative burden on companies that already face considerable bureaucracy. The labour gratuity is a particular burden as employers must file and pay it manually every month whereas the medical and accident insurance is paid annually.</p>

<p>This has had an impact on the number of tax payments and time in hours to comply with tax obligations, said the World Bank. As a result, it took companies in Nepal around 39 payments and 353 hours to comply with their fiscal obligations in 2017. This compares unfavorably with the global average of 24 payments and 237 hours.</p>

<p>Nepal ranks 158th for paying taxes in the Doing Business ranking out of 190 countries and this is its lowest ranking among the 10 indicators. Aside from paying taxes, Nepal also ranks low in other indicators for the ease of doing business, including enforcing contracts (154), dealing with construction permits (148), and getting electricity (137).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nepal&rsquo;s performance contrasts with the rest of South Asia where a total of 19 business reforms were carried out in the region during the past year, the second highest ever, compared with previous year&rsquo;s revised record of 21 reforms.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The investors can invest for the structural development of Tribhuvan International Airport and Nijgadh International Airport &ndash; a proposed airport to be constructed in Nijgadh,&rdquo; he said, urging the Qatari business community to invest in Hetauda-Kathmandu Tunnel Highway, East-West Electric Railway and Pokhara-Kathmandu Railway.</p>

<p>He further added that the country has a huge potential to generate and export electricity to the neighboring countries. &nbsp;&ldquo;Nepal needs to increase production, develop infrastructure and focus on export to reduce trade deficit,&rdquo; he said.</p>

<p>Sharma is in Qatar as a delegate in the official entourage of President Bidya Devi Bhandari. Bhandari, who in Qatar upon the invitation of Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, will return Nepal on Thursday, November 1, after completing her four-day visit. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Sharma further added that a huge number of Nepali youths are in Qatar for employment, so this visit will also transfer a positive message towards the migrant workers. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The interaction session was also attended by President Bidya Devi Bhandari, officials from the Embassy of Nepal in Qatar, among other delegates.</p>

<p>The report also shows that inflation stood at 4.2 percent which is comparatively lower than in the previous years. According to the IMF, the inflation rate was the result of controlled price of food items.</p>

<p>Currently the services related to online fund transfer, government revenue payment, credit card bill payment, mobile wallet top-up and share broker payment are available through online (web) version and mobile application, reads a press statement issued by NCHL. All such transactions are processed directly from the bank accounts and do not require any intermediary.</p>

<p>The online payment system has been subscribed by 44 banks and financial institutions among which 33 are now in operation.</p>

<p>Releasing the report entitled &lsquo;Nepal Development Update&rsquo; in Kathmandu on Thursday (November 1), the World Bank said that the government target to achieve 10 percent growth in investment by 2021 is possible with growth driven by production.</p>

<p>According to the report, the economic growth of the country stood at 6.3 percent in the Fiscal Year 2017/2018 despite less favorable monsoon.</p>

<p>Speaking at the report launch, Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada said that Nepal should achieve a sustained economic growth of more than seven percent to achieve the target of transforming the country into middle-income country with per capita income of at least USD 5,000 by 2030.</p>

<p>&ldquo;A growth rate of seven percent could be enough for Nepal to graduate into a developing country. But, the growth rate of seven percent is not enough for becoming a middle-income country within the period,&rdquo; he said, stressing on the need to enhance productivity of capital and labour, better use of technology, better management of companies and improving industrial relations for unlocking the country&#39;s growth potential.</p>

<p>Nepal aims to graduate into a developing country by 2022 and to a middle-income country by 2030. He further added that the private sector should play a crucial role for achieving these targets.</p>

<p>Similarly, Qimiao Fan, World Bank&rsquo;s country director for Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal, said the private sector investment is a must to generate necessary resources needed for transforming the country into middle-income country by 2030.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The country must ensure political and macro-economic stability, improve quality of infrastructure, and create transparent and predictable legal policy and environment to attract private sector investment and foreign direct investment,&rdquo; Qimiao said.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Suraj Vaidya, president of Vaidya&#39;s Organization of Industries, said that the private sector is more concerned about the implementation of laws and policies than their formulation as many laws are not implemented.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The World Bank report suggested Nepal to make paying taxes easier by simplifying the process of social security related payments.</p>

<p>&ldquo;This is the reason that the recent labor act has made the process more cumbersome and contributed to pushing the country down five places to 110th in the global ranking for the ease of doing business,&rdquo; says the World Bank Group&rsquo;s Doing Business 2019: Training for Reform report, released on October 31.</p>

<p>According to the annual ranking, Nepal made paying taxes more difficult through the 2017 Labour Act that introduced a labour gratuity, medical insurance and accident insurance paid by employers in a way that places a larger administrative burden on companies that already face considerable bureaucracy. The labour gratuity is a particular burden as employers must file and pay it manually every month whereas the medical and accident insurance is paid annually.</p>

<p>This has had an impact on the number of tax payments and time in hours to comply with tax obligations, said the World Bank. As a result, it took companies in Nepal around 39 payments and 353 hours to comply with their fiscal obligations in 2017. This compares unfavorably with the global average of 24 payments and 237 hours.</p>

<p>Nepal ranks 158th for paying taxes in the Doing Business ranking out of 190 countries and this is its lowest ranking among the 10 indicators. Aside from paying taxes, Nepal also ranks low in other indicators for the ease of doing business, including enforcing contracts (154), dealing with construction permits (148), and getting electricity (137).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nepal&rsquo;s performance contrasts with the rest of South Asia where a total of 19 business reforms were carried out in the region during the past year, the second highest ever, compared with previous year&rsquo;s revised record of 21 reforms.</p>

<p>Currently the services related to online fund transfer, government revenue payment, credit card bill payment, mobile wallet top-up and share broker payment are available through online (web) version and mobile application, reads a press statement issued by NCHL. All such transactions are processed directly from the bank accounts and do not require any intermediary.</p>

<p>Releasing the report entitled &lsquo;Nepal Development Update&rsquo; in Kathmandu on Thursday (November 1), the World Bank said that the government target to achieve 10 percent growth in investment by 2021 is possible with growth driven by production.</p>

<p>According to the report, the economic growth of the country stood at 6.3 percent in the Fiscal Year 2017/2018 despite less favorable monsoon.</p>

<p>Speaking at the report launch, Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada said that Nepal should achieve a sustained economic growth of more than seven percent to achieve the target of transforming the country into middle-income country with per capita income of at least USD 5,000 by 2030.</p>

<p>&ldquo;A growth rate of seven percent could be enough for Nepal to graduate into a developing country. But, the growth rate of seven percent is not enough for becoming a middle-income country within the period,&rdquo; he said, stressing on the need to enhance productivity of capital and labour, better use of technology, better management of companies and improving industrial relations for unlocking the country&#39;s growth potential.</p>

<p>Nepal aims to graduate into a developing country by 2022 and to a middle-income country by 2030. He further added that the private sector should play a crucial role for achieving these targets.</p>

<p>Similarly, Qimiao Fan, World Bank&rsquo;s country director for Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal, said the private sector investment is a must to generate necessary resources needed for transforming the country into middle-income country by 2030.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The country must ensure political and macro-economic stability, improve quality of infrastructure, and create transparent and predictable legal policy and environment to attract private sector investment and foreign direct investment,&rdquo; Qimiao said.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Suraj Vaidya, president of Vaidya&#39;s Organization of Industries, said that the private sector is more concerned about the implementation of laws and policies than their formulation as many laws are not implemented.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The World Bank report suggested Nepal to make paying taxes easier by simplifying the process of social security related payments.</p>

<p>&ldquo;This is the reason that the recent labor act has made the process more cumbersome and contributed to pushing the country down five places to 110th in the global ranking for the ease of doing business,&rdquo; says the World Bank Group&rsquo;s Doing Business 2019: Training for Reform report, released on October 31.</p>

<p>According to the annual ranking, Nepal made paying taxes more difficult through the 2017 Labour Act that introduced a labour gratuity, medical insurance and accident insurance paid by employers in a way that places a larger administrative burden on companies that already face considerable bureaucracy. The labour gratuity is a particular burden as employers must file and pay it manually every month whereas the medical and accident insurance is paid annually.</p>

<p>This has had an impact on the number of tax payments and time in hours to comply with tax obligations, said the World Bank. As a result, it took companies in Nepal around 39 payments and 353 hours to comply with their fiscal obligations in 2017. This compares unfavorably with the global average of 24 payments and 237 hours.</p>

<p>Nepal ranks 158th for paying taxes in the Doing Business ranking out of 190 countries and this is its lowest ranking among the 10 indicators. Aside from paying taxes, Nepal also ranks low in other indicators for the ease of doing business, including enforcing contracts (154), dealing with construction permits (148), and getting electricity (137).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nepal&rsquo;s performance contrasts with the rest of South Asia where a total of 19 business reforms were carried out in the region during the past year, the second highest ever, compared with previous year&rsquo;s revised record of 21 reforms.</p>

<p>Releasing the report entitled &lsquo;Nepal Development Update&rsquo; in Kathmandu on Thursday (November 1), the World Bank said that the government target to achieve 10 percent growth in investment by 2021 is possible with growth driven by production.</p>

<p>According to the report, the economic growth of the country stood at 6.3 percent in the Fiscal Year 2017/2018 despite less favorable monsoon.</p>

<p>Speaking at the report launch, Finance Minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada said that Nepal should achieve a sustained economic growth of more than seven percent to achieve the target of transforming the country into middle-income country with per capita income of at least USD 5,000 by 2030.</p>

<p>&ldquo;A growth rate of seven percent could be enough for Nepal to graduate into a developing country. But, the growth rate of seven percent is not enough for becoming a middle-income country within the period,&rdquo; he said, stressing on the need to enhance productivity of capital and labour, better use of technology, better management of companies and improving industrial relations for unlocking the country&#39;s growth potential.</p>

<p>Nepal aims to graduate into a developing country by 2022 and to a middle-income country by 2030. He further added that the private sector should play a crucial role for achieving these targets.</p>

<p>Similarly, Qimiao Fan, World Bank&rsquo;s country director for Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal, said the private sector investment is a must to generate necessary resources needed for transforming the country into middle-income country by 2030.</p>

<p>&ldquo;The country must ensure political and macro-economic stability, improve quality of infrastructure, and create transparent and predictable legal policy and environment to attract private sector investment and foreign direct investment,&rdquo; Qimiao said.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Suraj Vaidya, president of Vaidya&#39;s Organization of Industries, said that the private sector is more concerned about the implementation of laws and policies than their formulation as many laws are not implemented.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The World Bank report suggested Nepal to make paying taxes easier by simplifying the process of social security related payments.</p>

<p>&ldquo;This is the reason that the recent labor act has made the process more cumbersome and contributed to pushing the country down five places to 110th in the global ranking for the ease of doing business,&rdquo; says the World Bank Group&rsquo;s Doing Business 2019: Training for Reform report, released on October 31.</p>

<p>According to the annual ranking, Nepal made paying taxes more difficult through the 2017 Labour Act that introduced a labour gratuity, medical insurance and accident insurance paid by employers in a way that places a larger administrative burden on companies that already face considerable bureaucracy. The labour gratuity is a particular burden as employers must file and pay it manually every month whereas the medical and accident insurance is paid annually.</p>

<p>This has had an impact on the number of tax payments and time in hours to comply with tax obligations, said the World Bank. As a result, it took companies in Nepal around 39 payments and 353 hours to comply with their fiscal obligations in 2017. This compares unfavorably with the global average of 24 payments and 237 hours.</p>

<p>Nepal ranks 158th for paying taxes in the Doing Business ranking out of 190 countries and this is its lowest ranking among the 10 indicators. Aside from paying taxes, Nepal also ranks low in other indicators for the ease of doing business, including enforcing contracts (154), dealing with construction permits (148), and getting electricity (137).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nepal&rsquo;s performance contrasts with the rest of South Asia where a total of 19 business reforms were carried out in the region during the past year, the second highest ever, compared with previous year&rsquo;s revised record of 21 reforms.</p>
