<p>Proprietor of Asmita Brick Factory Govinda Raj Panta said that the production has decreased for lack of raw materials while the produced materials were not getting better market.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Tanahun, Shree, Jamune and Ram brick factories have been closed for lack of raw materials and investments.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The operations of the brick factories have stated that folks have left to construct the buildings after the earthquake struck the country on April 25 last year. As high as l,500 people have got employment in the brick factories in Tanahun. RSS&nbsp;</p>

<p>Hence, the stakeholders point out the need to encourage farmers to adopt modern means of farming. Providing the knowledge and resources to carry out offseasonal farming, ensuring irrigation facilities and involving the farmers in the development of plans related to the agriculture development could help bring about some change in the sector, says civil society leader Rajendra Bikram Shah.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>What is Nepal Food Corporation doing?&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p>Impact of prolonged India&#39;s unofficial blockade on the country has been seen in villages too. Most of villages in the district have faced food shortage. Nayakwada, Ramidanda, Rokayagaun, Saklama, Daha, Ragda, Bhagawati, Talegaun and Kotang are struggling to cope with rising food scarcity. These villages lie in the remotest area in the district.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chief District Officer Janardan Gautam said the Nepal Food Corporation was trying to supply food to Barkot to avert the possible food crisis in the remotest parts of the district.&nbsp;<br />
Quota (8000 quintals) for food supply to the district fixed by the NFC for the current fiscal is too little to meet the demand in rural areas. Rice stored at the district headquarters-based NFC depot remained unsold while the villages have been hit by the severe food shortage and the bodies concerned seen faults in the entire food distribution system for the arrival of such situation. NFC depots in rural areas sans staffs and contractors are supplying rice arbitrarily, the locals complained.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The NFC regional office in Nepalgunj supplies food to Dashera and Pajaru while the NFC District Office supplies to Ghat and Ghogi depots.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Bikendra Construction Service and Suppliers, which has made agreement with Zonal Office, Nepalgunj, for the food supply this year, has not yet supplied rice at Dashera and Ghogi depots. Rice kept at the depots was not sold last year as the price of rice in the depots was high as compared to local markets.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chief at NFC Zonal Office, Shanker Sapkota, said that they could not ask the company for the rice supply this year. A first quarterly report of the District Agriculture Development Office shows that six VDCs are high risk of food crisis. They are Nayakbada, Gorkhakot, Majkot, Kortang, Daha and Rokayagaun. Market price has increased from 15 to 35 percent, the report said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) said that only 80,000 tourists arrived in the trekking route in 2015 which is 50,000 less compared with 2014. The arresting beauty of the trekking route along Kaski, Myagdi, Mustang, Manang and Lamjung district attracts the tourists from across the globe.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A total of 6,00 hotels of small and big scale are in operation in the trekking route that incorporates 57 VDCs in the five districts.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The hoteliers said that the industries run in small investment are on the verge of closure for lack of tourists.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chief of ACAP Lal Prasad Gurung said that the trekking route suffered the severe loss due to natural disaster and political instability in the country.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He said, &ldquo;Decline of 50,000 tourists in a year is not a minor issue. This has caused nearly Rs 1.5 billion in loss.</p>

<p>The tourists visiting the trekking route stay at least seven days and spend nearly Rs 3,000 a day, the ACAP said. RSS&nbsp;</p>

<p>On a different note, he argued that the border blockade would be lifted soon, saying although there was no disruption at southern border check points, there was no smooth supply of goods via the check points.</p>

<p>Similarly, President of CAN Federation, Engineer Binod Dhakal, said the dream of e-Nepal would not be fulfilled until access of IT was extended to rural areas.</p>

<p>Chairman of the Subisu Cablenet Pvt. Ltd, Sudhir Parajuli, urged the government to enlist the internet service in the list of essential services keeping the importance and necessity of internet service in mind while General secretary of the CAN Federation, Bishwo Balami, said that such expo would help develop and expand IT in the country.</p>

<p>In its letter sent on January 20, the Archaeology Division under the Ministry stated that reading materials found in the concerned countries mentioned Buddha&rsquo;s birthplace as lying outside Nepal be rectified.</p>

<p>The Ministry has reminded of the fact that Siddhartha Gautam (Buddha) was born in Lumbini of Nepal and that it was listed as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997 in acceptance of this fact. The letter also calls for correcting false and illusionary information shared among the representatives of Nepal and neighbouring country during meetings in the international programmes that Buddha was born outside of Nepal.</p>

<p>The Ministry has appealed to the friendly countries, including US, China, Japan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, India and the Netherlands to correct information published and broadcast and archived there.</p>

<p>The Ministry sent the letters to the concerned countries through the Foreign Ministry as per the recent decision taken by Nepal Government&rsquo;s Council of Ministers.</p>

<p>Joshi further pointed out that tourists from more than 70 countries visit Nepal and that tourism is the prime basis of the country&rsquo;s economic prosperity. He added that a joint travel package between Nepal and Bangladesh would increase the influx of tourism considerably in both the countries.</p>

<p>At the programme, Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh President Prof Dr Akbaruddin Ahmad said Bangladesh shared a deep relation with Nepal since long ago and that it wanted cooperation also in capacity of being a SAARC member state.</p>

<p>Tourism entrepreneur Ambika Shrestha said Nepal could be advanced as a tourism industry as it was essentially a mine of natural heritages.</p>

<p>Nepal Fine Arts Academy Chancellor Ragini Upadhaya said art could also become a basis of trade and tourism.</p>

<p>During a courtesy call on Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Sherdhan Rai, at his office today, Japanese Ambassador to Nepal, Masashi Ogawa, said that Japan was ready to help Nepal in information technology sector as per the need.</p>

<p>Ambassador Ogawa said that his country has wanted to provide further support in development of IT sector and there would be continuous support to Nepal.</p>

<p>He further said that support providing to quake-affected people by Japan has been affected due to ongoing fuel shortage and border blockade.</p>

<p>On the occasion, the Ambassador also expressed the belief that the existing inconvenience situation would be ended as all sides would come to consensus soon.</p>

<p>Appraising the support provided by Japan in relief, rescue task after quake as well as reconstruction task, Minister Rai said that support of Japan was necessary in communication sector.</p>

<p>Hence, the stakeholders point out the need to encourage farmers to adopt modern means of farming. Providing the knowledge and resources to carry out offseasonal farming, ensuring irrigation facilities and involving the farmers in the development of plans related to the agriculture development could help bring about some change in the sector, says civil society leader Rajendra Bikram Shah.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>What is Nepal Food Corporation doing?&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p>Impact of prolonged India&#39;s unofficial blockade on the country has been seen in villages too. Most of villages in the district have faced food shortage. Nayakwada, Ramidanda, Rokayagaun, Saklama, Daha, Ragda, Bhagawati, Talegaun and Kotang are struggling to cope with rising food scarcity. These villages lie in the remotest area in the district.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chief District Officer Janardan Gautam said the Nepal Food Corporation was trying to supply food to Barkot to avert the possible food crisis in the remotest parts of the district.&nbsp;<br />
Quota (8000 quintals) for food supply to the district fixed by the NFC for the current fiscal is too little to meet the demand in rural areas. Rice stored at the district headquarters-based NFC depot remained unsold while the villages have been hit by the severe food shortage and the bodies concerned seen faults in the entire food distribution system for the arrival of such situation. NFC depots in rural areas sans staffs and contractors are supplying rice arbitrarily, the locals complained.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The NFC regional office in Nepalgunj supplies food to Dashera and Pajaru while the NFC District Office supplies to Ghat and Ghogi depots.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Bikendra Construction Service and Suppliers, which has made agreement with Zonal Office, Nepalgunj, for the food supply this year, has not yet supplied rice at Dashera and Ghogi depots. Rice kept at the depots was not sold last year as the price of rice in the depots was high as compared to local markets.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chief at NFC Zonal Office, Shanker Sapkota, said that they could not ask the company for the rice supply this year. A first quarterly report of the District Agriculture Development Office shows that six VDCs are high risk of food crisis. They are Nayakbada, Gorkhakot, Majkot, Kortang, Daha and Rokayagaun. Market price has increased from 15 to 35 percent, the report said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A total of 6,00 hotels of small and big scale are in operation in the trekking route that incorporates 57 VDCs in the five districts.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The hoteliers said that the industries run in small investment are on the verge of closure for lack of tourists.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chief of ACAP Lal Prasad Gurung said that the trekking route suffered the severe loss due to natural disaster and political instability in the country.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He said, &ldquo;Decline of 50,000 tourists in a year is not a minor issue. This has caused nearly Rs 1.5 billion in loss.</p>

<p>In its letter sent on January 20, the Archaeology Division under the Ministry stated that reading materials found in the concerned countries mentioned Buddha&rsquo;s birthplace as lying outside Nepal be rectified.</p>

<p>The Ministry has reminded of the fact that Siddhartha Gautam (Buddha) was born in Lumbini of Nepal and that it was listed as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997 in acceptance of this fact. The letter also calls for correcting false and illusionary information shared among the representatives of Nepal and neighbouring country during meetings in the international programmes that Buddha was born outside of Nepal.</p>

<p>The Ministry has appealed to the friendly countries, including US, China, Japan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, India and the Netherlands to correct information published and broadcast and archived there.</p>

<p>The Ministry sent the letters to the concerned countries through the Foreign Ministry as per the recent decision taken by Nepal Government&rsquo;s Council of Ministers.</p>

<p>As a result, people are increasingly leaving farming as a regular profession and migrating to the nearby urban centres and district headquarters.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Hence, the stakeholders point out the need to encourage farmers to adopt modern means of farming. Providing the knowledge and resources to carry out offseasonal farming, ensuring irrigation facilities and involving the farmers in the development of plans related to the agriculture development could help bring about some change in the sector, says civil society leader Rajendra Bikram Shah.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>What is Nepal Food Corporation doing?&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p>Impact of prolonged India&#39;s unofficial blockade on the country has been seen in villages too. Most of villages in the district have faced food shortage. Nayakwada, Ramidanda, Rokayagaun, Saklama, Daha, Ragda, Bhagawati, Talegaun and Kotang are struggling to cope with rising food scarcity. These villages lie in the remotest area in the district.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chief District Officer Janardan Gautam said the Nepal Food Corporation was trying to supply food to Barkot to avert the possible food crisis in the remotest parts of the district.&nbsp;<br />
Quota (8000 quintals) for food supply to the district fixed by the NFC for the current fiscal is too little to meet the demand in rural areas. Rice stored at the district headquarters-based NFC depot remained unsold while the villages have been hit by the severe food shortage and the bodies concerned seen faults in the entire food distribution system for the arrival of such situation. NFC depots in rural areas sans staffs and contractors are supplying rice arbitrarily, the locals complained.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The NFC regional office in Nepalgunj supplies food to Dashera and Pajaru while the NFC District Office supplies to Ghat and Ghogi depots.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Bikendra Construction Service and Suppliers, which has made agreement with Zonal Office, Nepalgunj, for the food supply this year, has not yet supplied rice at Dashera and Ghogi depots. Rice kept at the depots was not sold last year as the price of rice in the depots was high as compared to local markets.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chief at NFC Zonal Office, Shanker Sapkota, said that they could not ask the company for the rice supply this year. A first quarterly report of the District Agriculture Development Office shows that six VDCs are high risk of food crisis. They are Nayakbada, Gorkhakot, Majkot, Kortang, Daha and Rokayagaun. Market price has increased from 15 to 35 percent, the report said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Likewise, the Madhyapur Thimi municipality has also decided to waive 75 per cent of the fee in the approval of house design maps for the quake survivors. Also 50 per cent of the charge for sewage service will be waived off, said its executive officer Bhupendra Sapkota.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The trekking route that used to lure a large number of tourists every year has witnessed a sharp downfall in tourists&rsquo; arrival in 2015.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) said that only 80,000 tourists arrived in the trekking route in 2015 which is 50,000 less compared with 2014. The arresting beauty of the trekking route along Kaski, Myagdi, Mustang, Manang and Lamjung district attracts the tourists from across the globe.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A total of 6,00 hotels of small and big scale are in operation in the trekking route that incorporates 57 VDCs in the five districts.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The hoteliers said that the industries run in small investment are on the verge of closure for lack of tourists.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chief of ACAP Lal Prasad Gurung said that the trekking route suffered the severe loss due to natural disaster and political instability in the country.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He said, &ldquo;Decline of 50,000 tourists in a year is not a minor issue. This has caused nearly Rs 1.5 billion in loss.</p>

<p>The tourists visiting the trekking route stay at least seven days and spend nearly Rs 3,000 a day, the ACAP said. RSS&nbsp;</p>

Ltd, Sudhir Parajuli, urged the government to enlist the internet service in the list of essential services keeping the importance and necessity of internet service in mind while General secretary of the CAN Federation, Bishwo Balami, said that such expo would help develop and expand IT in the country.</p>

<p>In its letter sent on January 20, the Archaeology Division under the Ministry stated that reading materials found in the concerned countries mentioned Buddha&rsquo;s birthplace as lying outside Nepal be rectified.</p>

<p>The Ministry has reminded of the fact that Siddhartha Gautam (Buddha) was born in Lumbini of Nepal and that it was listed as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997 in acceptance of this fact. The letter also calls for correcting false and illusionary information shared among the representatives of Nepal and neighbouring country during meetings in the international programmes that Buddha was born outside of Nepal.</p>

<p>The Ministry has appealed to the friendly countries, including US, China, Japan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, India and the Netherlands to correct information published and broadcast and archived there.</p>

<p>The Ministry sent the letters to the concerned countries through the Foreign Ministry as per the recent decision taken by Nepal Government&rsquo;s Council of Ministers.</p>

<p>Proprietor of Asmita Brick Factory Govinda Raj Panta said that the production has decreased for lack of raw materials while the produced materials were not getting better market.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Tanahun, Shree, Jamune and Ram brick factories have been closed for lack of raw materials and investments.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The operations of the brick factories have stated that folks have left to construct the buildings after the earthquake struck the country on April 25 last year. As high as l,500 people have got employment in the brick factories in Tanahun. RSS&nbsp;</p>

<p>Hence, the stakeholders point out the need to encourage farmers to adopt modern means of farming. Providing the knowledge and resources to carry out offseasonal farming, ensuring irrigation facilities and involving the farmers in the development of plans related to the agriculture development could help bring about some change in the sector, says civil society leader Rajendra Bikram Shah.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>What is Nepal Food Corporation doing?&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p>Impact of prolonged India&#39;s unofficial blockade on the country has been seen in villages too. Most of villages in the district have faced food shortage. Nayakwada, Ramidanda, Rokayagaun, Saklama, Daha, Ragda, Bhagawati, Talegaun and Kotang are struggling to cope with rising food scarcity. These villages lie in the remotest area in the district.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chief District Officer Janardan Gautam said the Nepal Food Corporation was trying to supply food to Barkot to avert the possible food crisis in the remotest parts of the district.&nbsp;<br />
Quota (8000 quintals) for food supply to the district fixed by the NFC for the current fiscal is too little to meet the demand in rural areas. Rice stored at the district headquarters-based NFC depot remained unsold while the villages have been hit by the severe food shortage and the bodies concerned seen faults in the entire food distribution system for the arrival of such situation. NFC depots in rural areas sans staffs and contractors are supplying rice arbitrarily, the locals complained.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The NFC regional office in Nepalgunj supplies food to Dashera and Pajaru while the NFC District Office supplies to Ghat and Ghogi depots.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Bikendra Construction Service and Suppliers, which has made agreement with Zonal Office, Nepalgunj, for the food supply this year, has not yet supplied rice at Dashera and Ghogi depots. Rice kept at the depots was not sold last year as the price of rice in the depots was high as compared to local markets.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chief at NFC Zonal Office, Shanker Sapkota, said that they could not ask the company for the rice supply this year. A first quarterly report of the District Agriculture Development Office shows that six VDCs are high risk of food crisis. They are Nayakbada, Gorkhakot, Majkot, Kortang, Daha and Rokayagaun. Market price has increased from 15 to 35 percent, the report said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) said that only 80,000 tourists arrived in the trekking route in 2015 which is 50,000 less compared with 2014. The arresting beauty of the trekking route along Kaski, Myagdi, Mustang, Manang and Lamjung district attracts the tourists from across the globe.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A total of 6,00 hotels of small and big scale are in operation in the trekking route that incorporates 57 VDCs in the five districts.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The hoteliers said that the industries run in small investment are on the verge of closure for lack of tourists.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Chief of ACAP Lal Prasad Gurung said that the trekking route suffered the severe loss due to natural disaster and political instability in the country.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He said, &ldquo;Decline of 50,000 tourists in a year is not a minor issue. This has caused nearly Rs 1.5 billion in loss.</p>

<p>The tourists visiting the trekking route stay at least seven days and spend nearly Rs 3,000 a day, the ACAP said. RSS&nbsp;</p>

<p>On a different note, he argued that the border blockade would be lifted soon, saying although there was no disruption at southern border check points, there was no smooth supply of goods via the check points.</p>

<p>Similarly, President of CAN Federation, Engineer Binod Dhakal, said the dream of e-Nepal would not be fulfilled until access of IT was extended to rural areas.</p>

<p>Chairman of the Subisu Cablenet Pvt. Ltd, Sudhir Parajuli, urged the government to enlist the internet service in the list of essential services keeping the importance and necessity of internet service in mind while General secretary of the CAN Federation, Bishwo Balami, said that such expo would help develop and expand IT in the country.</p>

<p>In its letter sent on January 20, the Archaeology Division under the Ministry stated that reading materials found in the concerned countries mentioned Buddha&rsquo;s birthplace as lying outside Nepal be rectified.</p>

<p>The Ministry has reminded of the fact that Siddhartha Gautam (Buddha) was born in Lumbini of Nepal and that it was listed as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997 in acceptance of this fact. The letter also calls for correcting false and illusionary information shared among the representatives of Nepal and neighbouring country during meetings in the international programmes that Buddha was born outside of Nepal.</p>

<p>The Ministry has appealed to the friendly countries, including US, China, Japan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, India and the Netherlands to correct information published and broadcast and archived there.</p>

<p>The Ministry sent the letters to the concerned countries through the Foreign Ministry as per the recent decision taken by Nepal Government&rsquo;s Council of Ministers.</p>

<p>Joshi further pointed out that tourists from more than 70 countries visit Nepal and that tourism is the prime basis of the country&rsquo;s economic prosperity. He added that a joint travel package between Nepal and Bangladesh would increase the influx of tourism considerably in both the countries.</p>

<p>At the programme, Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh President Prof Dr Akbaruddin Ahmad said Bangladesh shared a deep relation with Nepal since long ago and that it wanted cooperation also in capacity of being a SAARC member state.</p>

<p>Tourism entrepreneur Ambika Shrestha said Nepal could be advanced as a tourism industry as it was essentially a mine of natural heritages.</p>

<p>Nepal Fine Arts Academy Chancellor Ragini Upadhaya said art could also become a basis of trade and tourism.</p>

<p>During a courtesy call on Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Sherdhan Rai, at his office today, Japanese Ambassador to Nepal, Masashi Ogawa, said that Japan was ready to help Nepal in information technology sector as per the need.</p>

<p>Ambassador Ogawa said that his country has wanted to provide further support in development of IT sector and there would be continuous support to Nepal.</p>

<p>He further said that support providing to quake-affected people by Japan has been affected due to ongoing fuel shortage and border blockade.</p>

<p>On the occasion, the Ambassador also expressed the belief that the existing inconvenience situation would be ended as all sides would come to consensus soon.</p>

<p>Appraising the support provided by Japan in relief, rescue task after quake as well as reconstruction task, Minister Rai said that support of Japan was necessary in communication sector.</p>

<p>Outlining his plan of making the Mid-hills highway as optical highway, Minister Rai said that Nepal wanted to collaborate with Japan in near future. He said, &quot;We are ready to collaborate with Japan in strengthening of IT sector in a long-term manner.</p>

<p>Similarly, Ambassador of South Korea, Choi-Yong-jin also paid courtesy call on Minister Rai today itself. RSS<br />

<p>At a programme organized by the Media International on &#39;National Agricultural Policy and Agriculture Loan Special Program&#39; in the capital city on Wednesday, Governor Nepal however said the farmers failed to augment investment in agriculture as per government&#39;s expectation. He suggested the farmers to utilize the opportunity that they could reap heavy benefit with low investment.</p>

<p>According to him, a long-term policy was the need of day to attract investors.</p>

<p>Chief of the Planning Division of the Agriculture Ministry,Yogendra Kumar Karki, said the country would witness heavy decline on import of foods in coming five years, once agriculture was modernized and commercialized. He added that as per the current agricultural policy, even the government, finances and private sectors can invest in the agricultural development.</p>

<p>Executive Director at NRB, Shivanath Pande presented a paper on agricultural policy and agricultural loans.<br />
