			'content' => '<p style="text-align:justify">February 26: In the second quarter of the current FY, 28 commercial banks that are listed in Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) have earned Rs 20.84 billion net profit. The banks earned Rs 14.50 billion net profit during the corresponding period of the last FY. The raise in the net profit of the commercial banks is attributed to increase in their operating profit, net interest income and paid-up capital as well.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">During the period, the net profit of six banks surpassed Rs 1 billion. In the corresponding period of the last FY, net profit of four banks exceeded Rs 1 billion. According to the unpublished &nbsp;second quarter financial reports of the current FY, Nepal Bank has earned maximum profit. The bank earned net profit of Rs 1.89 billion which is 80.80 per cent more than the corresponding period of the last FY. The growth is attributed to the high growth in operating profit of the bank. In the review period, the operating profit of the bank increased by 114.99 per cent to Rs 1.38 billion. Similarly, Nabil Bank, Nepal Investment, Rastriya Banijya Bank, Prabhu and Himalayan Bank also earned Rs 1 billion exceeding net profit.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">As per the growth rate, net profit of Prabhu and Agricultural Development Bank has increased maximum. &nbsp;In the review period, Prabhu Bank increased its profit by 174.21 per cent and Agricultural Development Bank increased its profit by 133.97 per cent. Along with the increase in operating profit and net interest income, recovery of Rs 1 billion bad debt raised the net profit of Prabhu Bank significantly. Meanwhile, operating profit of Agricultural Development Bank increased by 158.18 per cent during the period.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">In the first six months of the current FY, the operating profit of Himalayan Bank has increased by 503.4 per cent to Rs 7.60 billion from Rs 1.26 billion of the corresponding period of the last FY. Among the 28 banks, Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank raised its net interest income by 104.06 per cent.&nbsp;</p>

			'content' => '<p style="text-align: justify;">February 24: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is investing Rs 726.9 million on &#39;A&#39; listed commercial banks, &#39;B&#39; listed national level development banks and &#39;C&#39; listed national level finance companies. The central bank is investing the funds accumulated in its various trusts as fixed deposits (FD) in the aforementioned banks and financial institutions (BFIs) from March 14 2017 to March 13 2018.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The central bank is investing Rs 581.5 million as FD in &#39;A&#39; listed commercial bank. Similarly, the bank is investing Rs 109 million and Rs 36.3 million as FD in &#39;B&#39; listed and &#39;C&#39; listed BFIs respectively. The bank has applied 11 conditions to invest the fund in the listed BFIs.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The NRB has issued a notice in which the interested BFIs are asked to submitted a duly sealed price quotation form with the specified amount the BFIs willing to take as FD by February 28 1500 hours. The BFIs willing to take the FD must have come into operation for two years and should have minimum capital fund. The BFIs must fulfil the categories including the non-performing loan should be less than 5 per cent of total loan extension, net liquid assets should meet 20 per cent or more of the total domestic deposits will be eligible. According to NRB, the BFIs must have maintained the loan, domestic deposit and primary capital proportion as per the timely set standard by the central bank.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the BFIs earning operating profit in last FY and having real estate investment not exceeding NRB set limit can also participate in the FD plan. However, BFIs leaded by Directors, CEO or Executive Directors against whom NRB has taken action will not get an opportunity to participate.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, BFIs completing minimum of 6 months from the Prompt Corrective Action taken by NRB can also apply for the deposit. NRB has also set a condition where the BFIs must have issued the shares allocated to general public. Likewise, the BFIs which are not announced problematic or completed 6 months since announced problem free are also allowed to apply for the fixed deposit of NRB.&nbsp;</p>

The banks earned Rs 14.50 billion net profit during the corresponding period of the last FY. The raise in the net profit of the commercial banks is attributed to increase in their operating profit, net interest income and paid-up capital as well.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">During the period, the net profit of six banks surpassed Rs 1 billion. In the corresponding period of the last FY, net profit of four banks exceeded Rs 1 billion. According to the unpublished &nbsp;second quarter financial reports of the current FY, Nepal Bank has earned maximum profit. The bank earned net profit of Rs 1.89 billion which is 80.80 per cent more than the corresponding period of the last FY. The growth is attributed to the high growth in operating profit of the bank. In the review period, the operating profit of the bank increased by 114.99 per cent to Rs 1.38 billion. Similarly, Nabil Bank, Nepal Investment, Rastriya Banijya Bank, Prabhu and Himalayan Bank also earned Rs 1 billion exceeding net profit.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">As per the growth rate, net profit of Prabhu and Agricultural Development Bank has increased maximum. &nbsp;In the review period, Prabhu Bank increased its profit by 174.21 per cent and Agricultural Development Bank increased its profit by 133.97 per cent. Along with the increase in operating profit and net interest income, recovery of Rs 1 billion bad debt raised the net profit of Prabhu Bank significantly. Meanwhile, operating profit of Agricultural Development Bank increased by 158.18 per cent during the period.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">In the first six months of the current FY, the operating profit of Himalayan Bank has increased by 503.4 per cent to Rs 7.60 billion from Rs 1.26 billion of the corresponding period of the last FY. Among the 28 banks, Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank raised its net interest income by 104.06 per cent.&nbsp;</p>

			'content' => '<p style="text-align: justify;">February 24: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is investing Rs 726.9 million on &#39;A&#39; listed commercial banks, &#39;B&#39; listed national level development banks and &#39;C&#39; listed national level finance companies. The central bank is investing the funds accumulated in its various trusts as fixed deposits (FD) in the aforementioned banks and financial institutions (BFIs) from March 14 2017 to March 13 2018.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The central bank is investing Rs 581.5 million as FD in &#39;A&#39; listed commercial bank. Similarly, the bank is investing Rs 109 million and Rs 36.3 million as FD in &#39;B&#39; listed and &#39;C&#39; listed BFIs respectively. The bank has applied 11 conditions to invest the fund in the listed BFIs.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The NRB has issued a notice in which the interested BFIs are asked to submitted a duly sealed price quotation form with the specified amount the BFIs willing to take as FD by February 28 1500 hours. The BFIs willing to take the FD must have come into operation for two years and should have minimum capital fund. The BFIs must fulfil the categories including the non-performing loan should be less than 5 per cent of total loan extension, net liquid assets should meet 20 per cent or more of the total domestic deposits will be eligible. According to NRB, the BFIs must have maintained the loan, domestic deposit and primary capital proportion as per the timely set standard by the central bank.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the BFIs earning operating profit in last FY and having real estate investment not exceeding NRB set limit can also participate in the FD plan. However, BFIs leaded by Directors, CEO or Executive Directors against whom NRB has taken action will not get an opportunity to participate.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, BFIs completing minimum of 6 months from the Prompt Corrective Action taken by NRB can also apply for the deposit. NRB has also set a condition where the BFIs must have issued the shares allocated to general public. Likewise, the BFIs which are not announced problematic or completed 6 months since announced problem free are also allowed to apply for the fixed deposit of NRB.&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">During the period, the net profit of six banks surpassed Rs 1 billion. In the corresponding period of the last FY, net profit of four banks exceeded Rs 1 billion. According to the unpublished &nbsp;second quarter financial reports of the current FY, Nepal Bank has earned maximum profit. The bank earned net profit of Rs 1.89 billion which is 80.80 per cent more than the corresponding period of the last FY. The growth is attributed to the high growth in operating profit of the bank. In the review period, the operating profit of the bank increased by 114.99 per cent to Rs 1.38 billion. Similarly, Nabil Bank, Nepal Investment, Rastriya Banijya Bank, Prabhu and Himalayan Bank also earned Rs 1 billion exceeding net profit.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">As per the growth rate, net profit of Prabhu and Agricultural Development Bank has increased maximum. &nbsp;In the review period, Prabhu Bank increased its profit by 174.21 per cent and Agricultural Development Bank increased its profit by 133.97 per cent. Along with the increase in operating profit and net interest income, recovery of Rs 1 billion bad debt raised the net profit of Prabhu Bank significantly. Meanwhile, operating profit of Agricultural Development Bank increased by 158.18 per cent during the period.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">In the first six months of the current FY, the operating profit of Himalayan Bank has increased by 503.4 per cent to Rs 7.60 billion from Rs 1.26 billion of the corresponding period of the last FY. Among the 28 banks, Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank raised its net interest income by 104.06 per cent.&nbsp;</p>

The central bank is investing the funds accumulated in its various trusts as fixed deposits (FD) in the aforementioned banks and financial institutions (BFIs) from March 14 2017 to March 13 2018.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The central bank is investing Rs 581.5 million as FD in &#39;A&#39; listed commercial bank. Similarly, the bank is investing Rs 109 million and Rs 36.3 million as FD in &#39;B&#39; listed and &#39;C&#39; listed BFIs respectively. The bank has applied 11 conditions to invest the fund in the listed BFIs.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The NRB has issued a notice in which the interested BFIs are asked to submitted a duly sealed price quotation form with the specified amount the BFIs willing to take as FD by February 28 1500 hours. The BFIs willing to take the FD must have come into operation for two years and should have minimum capital fund. The BFIs must fulfil the categories including the non-performing loan should be less than 5 per cent of total loan extension, net liquid assets should meet 20 per cent or more of the total domestic deposits will be eligible. According to NRB, the BFIs must have maintained the loan, domestic deposit and primary capital proportion as per the timely set standard by the central bank.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the BFIs earning operating profit in last FY and having real estate investment not exceeding NRB set limit can also participate in the FD plan. However, BFIs leaded by Directors, CEO or Executive Directors against whom NRB has taken action will not get an opportunity to participate.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, BFIs completing minimum of 6 months from the Prompt Corrective Action taken by NRB can also apply for the deposit. NRB has also set a condition where the BFIs must have issued the shares allocated to general public. Likewise, the BFIs which are not announced problematic or completed 6 months since announced problem free are also allowed to apply for the fixed deposit of NRB.&nbsp;</p>

The banks earned Rs 14.50 billion net profit during the corresponding period of the last FY. <p style="text-align:justify">During the period, the net profit of six banks surpassed Rs 1 billion. In the corresponding period of the last FY, net profit of four banks exceeded Rs 1 billion. According to the unpublished &nbsp;second quarter financial reports of the current FY, Nepal Bank has earned maximum profit. The bank earned net profit of Rs 1.89 billion which is 80.80 per cent more than the corresponding period of the last FY. The growth is attributed to the high growth in operating profit of the bank. In the review period, the operating profit of the bank increased by 114.99 per cent to Rs 1.38 billion. Similarly, Nabil Bank, Nepal Investment, Rastriya Banijya Bank, Prabhu and Himalayan Bank also earned Rs 1 billion exceeding net profit.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">As per the growth rate, net profit of Prabhu and Agricultural Development Bank has increased maximum. &nbsp;In the review period, Prabhu Bank increased its profit by 174.21 per cent and Agricultural Development Bank increased its profit by 133.97 per cent. Along with the increase in operating profit and net interest income, recovery of Rs 1 billion bad debt raised the net profit of Prabhu Bank significantly. Meanwhile, operating profit of Agricultural Development Bank increased by 158.18 per cent during the period.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">In the first six months of the current FY, the operating profit of Himalayan Bank has increased by 503.4 per cent to Rs 7.60 billion from Rs 1.26 billion of the corresponding period of the last FY. Among the 28 banks, Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank raised its net interest income by 104.06 per cent.&nbsp;</p>

The central bank is investing the funds accumulated in its various trusts as fixed deposits (FD) in the aforementioned banks and financial institutions (BFIs) from March 14 2017 to March 13 2018.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The central bank is investing Rs 581.5 million as FD in &#39;A&#39; listed commercial bank. Similarly, the bank is investing Rs 109 million and Rs 36.3 million as FD in &#39;B&#39; listed and &#39;C&#39; listed BFIs respectively. The bank has applied 11 conditions to invest the fund in the listed BFIs.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The NRB has issued a notice in which the interested BFIs are asked to submitted a duly sealed price quotation form with the specified amount the BFIs willing to take as FD by February 28 1500 hours. The BFIs willing to take the FD must have come into operation for two years and should have minimum capital fund. The BFIs must fulfil the categories including the non-performing loan should be less than 5 per cent of total loan extension, net liquid assets should meet 20 per cent or more of the total domestic deposits will be eligible. According to NRB, the BFIs must have maintained the loan, domestic deposit and primary capital proportion as per the timely set standard by the central bank.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, the BFIs earning operating profit in last FY and having real estate investment not exceeding NRB set limit can also participate in the FD plan. However, BFIs leaded by Directors, CEO or Executive Directors against whom NRB has taken action will not get an opportunity to participate.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Similarly, BFIs completing minimum of 6 months from the Prompt Corrective Action taken by NRB can also apply for the deposit. NRB has also set a condition where the BFIs must have issued the shares allocated to general public. Likewise, the BFIs which are not announced problematic or completed 6 months since announced problem free are also allowed to apply for the fixed deposit of NRB.&nbsp;</p>
