Clashes ensued in Salyan’s district headquarter Khalanga between the UCPN and CPN-Maoist cadres. Around dozen cadres from both parties were injured during the clashes. </div> <div> </div> <div> <span style="font-size:14px;"><strong>UML Candidate Alam Shot</strong></span></div> <div> An unidentified group has shot at Mohammad Alam, a candidate of the FPTP election from CPN (UML) from Bara 4 last Thursday. Seriously injured Alam was airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment. He is undergoing treatment at the Teaching Hospital. According to an eye witness, two unidentified persons riding on a motorcycle with Indian number plate shot at Alam. CPN-UML, NC and other parties have condemned the attack. Meanwhile, Spokesperson of Ministry of Home Affairs Shankar Prasad Koirala has said that the government has intensified the manhunt to nab the shooters. The EC formed the Media Monitoring Committee under the chair of an Election Commmissioner, Ila Sharma. Federation of Nepali Journalists president Shiva Gaunle, however, said they were not consulted with while forming such a committee. Its leader Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ smashed a mock ballot box with a hammer amid a protest program held by the party in the Capital on Thursday as a symbolic protest to disrupt the election scheduled for November 19. </div> <div> </div> <div> Earlier, the party had held a press conference at its office in Buddhanagar to announce the campaign against the election.
