January 13: Nepal Rastra Bank has directed banks and financial institutions (BFIs) providing revenue deposit service to open their counters on Saturdays as well.
According to a news report published by Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), the BFIs have been asked to keep their counters open throughout the day on Saturday in order to receive revenue collection. The central bank’s Executive Director Narayan Prasad Poudel said that the directive to commercial banks and financial institutions was issued as per the request of the finance ministry.
Likewise, Nepal Clearing House Limited has also been directed to remain open as normal days to carry out the clearing of cheques related to revenue deposits, RSS further said.

<p>According to a news report published by Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), the BFIs have been asked to keep their counters open throughout the day on Saturday in order to receive revenue collection. The central bank’s Executive Director Narayan Prasad Poudel said that the directive to commercial banks and financial institutions was issued as per the request of the finance ministry. <br />
Likewise, Nepal Clearing House Limited has also been directed to remain open as normal days to carry out the clearing of cheques related to revenue deposits, RSS further said.</p>
<p>The central bank issued the directive to banks of class A, B and C, as well as financial institutions. </p>
