According to the bank, the duo tendered their resignations voluntarily as per the new provisions mentioned in Article 14 (1) of the Banks and Financial Institutions Act 2073 related to the number of BOD members of BFIs.

<p>The newly-elected chairman of the bank was administered oath of office and secrecy by Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Chintamani Shivakoti amid a function on Friday, August 10.</p>
<p>Before Gurng’s appointment, the same meeting also approved the resignation of the outgoing chairman of the bank, Prof Dr Suwarna Bajracharya. Also, BOD member Mahesh Pradhan also tendered his resignation.</p>
<p>According to the bank, the duo tendered their resignations voluntarily as per the new provisions mentioned in Article 14 (1) of the Banks and Financial Institutions Act 2073 related to the number of BOD members of BFIs.</p>
