December 1: Tourists with American Express Card will not be requiring cash while travelling Nepal.  The tourists arriving Nepal under the 'Experience Nepal' campaign launched by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in co-ordination with Himalayan Bank and American Express Banking Corporation, India in a bid to promote tourism of Nepal, will be getting such facility.

Organising a press conference on November 30, NTB informed that the campaign will start on 2017 July 31 and last for nearly 1 year. Under the campaign, worldwide tourists, owning American Express Card, travelling Nepal will get such facilities. The tourists arriving under the campaign will get up to 25 per cent discount on other various services as well.

Similarly, Himalayan Bank will be co-ordinating with 100 merchant so that to provide banking services to the cardholders during the campaign period.  Himalayan Bank is one of the co-ordinator of the campaign as well as an initiator of issuing International Credit Card in Nepal targeting tourists.

Ashok Samsher Jabara, CEO of Himalayan Bank said that the bank will co-ordinate with 100 merchants including hotels, trekking and travel agencies serving the tourists. He also informed that the bank has already selected nearly 100 merchants for co-ordination in order to facilitate use of American Express Card in various institutions and companies.

Similarly, Deepak Joshi, CEO of Nepal Tourism Board said that the campaign will help to achieve the NTB's target of attracting 1 million tourists within 2018. Nepal Tourism Board will tie up with Nepali embassies in France, the UK and Japan to organise promotional programmes in respective countries, says a statement issued on Wednesday.
