July 29: The construction of Day Care Dialysis Centre supported by Ncell in Tribhuwan University Teaching Hospital(TUTH) at Maharajgunj has been completed. According to the company, the dialysis centre has enabled the hospital to enhance its capacity to operate health services for kidney patients.

The company had provided financial support to Teaching Hospital with an aim to enable the people to access critical renal health care services within the country in 2004. The newly completed care centre has capacity to accommodate 16 dialysis machines, and it is equipped with RO water treatment facilities.
 
Ncell had support construction of the new center as a part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR).  The company has provided financial support of Rs 15 million for the construction of the centre on the third floor of Surgical OPD building, reads a press statement. Apart from building the infrastructure wherein 16 dialysis machines can be installed, the company has also supported to install the RO water treatment system essential for dialysis service. A patient friendly lift having capacity to serve 20 persons at a time has also been installed under this project.
 
As per Prof. Dr. Prem Krishna Khadga, Deputy Director of TUTH, operation of the Center will contribute to improve people’s access to kidney health care services. "It will enhance service delivery capabilities of the hospital, also strengthening the national policy in the treatment of outdoor basis. We will have to install new dialysis machines so that more kidney patients could benefit from the newly constructed Centre," he added.  Simon Perkins, Managing Director of Ncell said, “It gives us great pleasure to equip the hospital with basic infrastructure required to serve people suffering from kidney diseases.”

Issuing a press statement by Ncell, the company has also provided support to Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center (MCVTC) in Maharajgunj to set up world-class cardiothoracic Intensive Care Units (ICUs).
