<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:black; font-family:georgia,serif; font-size:11.0pt">As per the budget announcement, the Ministry of Environment has been engaged in necessary planning for implementing the ban program. “A taskforce has been formed to formulate standard regarding the usable and non-usable plastic bag," says Bishwo Nath Oli, Secretary of Ministry of Environment. He has also informed that the ministry is engaged in discussions with stakeholders to implement the ban . "The program will be implemented in co-ordination and co-operation of different bodies of the government", he added.</span></p>
<p style="text-align:justify"><span style="color:black; font-family:georgia,serif; font-size:11.0pt">Similarly, the government has encouraged plastic bag manufacturers to switch to other environment friendly products. For this, government will levy just 1 percent customs duty on machineries and equipments and will waive value added tax completely, as per the budget.</span></p>
