<p style="text-align: justify;">Approximately 30000 new cancer cases are diagnosed and about 20000 people die of cancer every year in Nepal. Lung, breast, cervix and abdomen cancers are the most common cancers seen in Nepal primarily because of smoking, drinking, obesity, infection, exposure to radiation and increased use of insecticides and pesticides.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Speaking in the inauguration, Dr KritanjaliKoirala, CEO, Sooriya diagnostic said, “Today we fulfil our dream of starting a PET CT facility and provide access to world-class cancer diagnosis to people in Nepal. This centre will ensure that people of Nepal don’t have to travel to India for diagnosis and thus make their overall cost of treatment affordable.”</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">“Cancer today is emerging as one of the biggest killers in Nepal and it is estimated that deaths due to cancer are at 80 per 100,000 people”, said Milan Rao, President and CEO, GE Healthcare, South Asiaand India. “Late stage detection and lack access to diagnostic facilities are the biggest issues Nepal faces. We have made early screening of cancer an important part of our mission and have been working closely with healthcare providers like Sooriya Diagnostics to bring access to world-class cancer care to the people of Nepal,” he added.</p>

This centre will ensure that people of Nepal don’t have to travel to India for diagnosis and thus make their overall cost of treatment affordable.”</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">“IQ PET CT offers the latest technology in imaging and screening that is critical for early diagnosis, staging and post treatment monitoring of cancer,” informs the statement.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Approximately 30000 new cancer cases are diagnosed and about 20000 people die of cancer every year in Nepal. Lung, breast, cervix and abdomen cancers are the most common cancers seen in Nepal primarily because of smoking, drinking, obesity, infection, exposure to radiation and increased use of insecticides and pesticides.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Speaking in the inauguration, Dr KritanjaliKoirala, CEO, Sooriya diagnostic said, “Today we fulfil our dream of starting a PET CT facility and provide access to world-class cancer diagnosis to people in Nepal. This centre will ensure that people of Nepal don’t have to travel to India for diagnosis and thus make their overall cost of treatment affordable.”</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">“Cancer today is emerging as one of the biggest killers in Nepal and it is estimated that deaths due to cancer are at 80 per 100,000 people”, said Milan Rao, President and CEO, GE Healthcare, South Asiaand India. “Late stage detection and lack access to diagnostic facilities are the biggest issues Nepal faces. We have made early screening of cancer an important part of our mission and have been working closely with healthcare providers like Sooriya Diagnostics to bring access to world-class cancer care to the people of Nepal,” he added.</p>

'content' => '<p style="text-align: justify;">June 8: Sooriya diagnostic has inaugurated Positron Emission Tomography–Computed Tomography (PET CT) in Lazimpat, Kathmandu on June 7. “GE’s Discovery IQ PET CT is the first PET CT service in Nepal,” informs the company in a press statement.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">“IQ PET CT offers the latest technology in imaging and screening that is critical for early diagnosis, staging and post treatment monitoring of cancer,” informs the statement.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Approximately 30000 new cancer cases are diagnosed and about 20000 people die of cancer every year in Nepal. Lung, breast, cervix and abdomen cancers are the most common cancers seen in Nepal primarily because of smoking, drinking, obesity, infection, exposure to radiation and increased use of insecticides and pesticides.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Speaking in the inauguration, Dr KritanjaliKoirala, CEO, Sooriya diagnostic said, “Today we fulfil our dream of starting a PET CT facility and provide access to world-class cancer diagnosis to people in Nepal. This centre will ensure that people of Nepal don’t have to travel to India for diagnosis and thus make their overall cost of treatment affordable.”</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">“Cancer today is emerging as one of the biggest killers in Nepal and it is estimated that deaths due to cancer are at 80 per 100,000 people”, said Milan Rao, President and CEO, GE Healthcare, South Asiaand India. “Late stage detection and lack access to diagnostic facilities are the biggest issues Nepal faces. We have made early screening of cancer an important part of our mission and have been working closely with healthcare providers like Sooriya Diagnostics to bring access to world-class cancer care to the people of Nepal,” he added.</p>
