<p>The flight was conducted under the inspection of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) inspectors as per the CAAN Air Operator Certificate requirements. International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) inspectors also observed the proving flight. </p>
<p>"With the proving flight successfully conducted, we will commence commercial operations soon,” says Vijay Shrestha, Vice-President, Administrations of Himalaya Airlines. </p>
<p>The airline has scheduled its first destinations at Delhi and Doha in April 2016 followed by Lhasa, Chengdu and Beijing in China a few months later. The airline had welcomed its first new aircraft Airbus 320-214, on March 9. This aircraft carried the Prime Minister KP Oli during his official visit to China. </p>
<p>Over the coming five years, the airline aims to acquire 15 Airbus 320 family aircrafts and targets to operate from Kathmandu to various cities in Asia and beyond. “The company will introduce long haul wide body aircraft of A330 family in due course of time for the operation of direct flights to Japan, Korea, Europe, Australia, and America,” informs the statement. </p>
