<p>In 2015, aircraft arrivals dropped by 0.39 percent while cargo growth increased by 24.70 percent due to the entry of foreign relief material following the April 25 earthquake. Similarly, within the first 10 months of 2015, around 2.6 million international air passengers passed through Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). </p>
<p>Likewise, the number of domestic air passengers also dropped by 4.25 percent in 2015 as compared to 2014. But the arrival of aircraft and cargo transport increased by 20 and 8.39 percent, respectively. Gautam also said that the drop in passenger numbers has come about because of the earthquake and the ongoing blockade. No effect has occurred in air traffic this year, he added.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, CAAN earned Rs 3.10 billion including development charge in fiscal year (FY) 2014/15. Due to the earthquake and current political instability, the income is likely to decrease in FY 2015/16, according to CAAN. </p>
