September 17: The 10^th NADA Auto Show is not just about cars. It is also about motorbikes, a popular mode of transport in cities like Kathmandu.

Here’s a list of bikes being showcased at the NADA Auto Show this year.

Yamaha:

MAW Enterprises, the authorised distributor of Yamaha two-wheelers in Nepal, has introduced three new models of motorcycles in NADA Auto show 2015 — Saluto in 125cc category and the YZF R3 and the new R15.

The 125cc Saluto is a fuel-efficient machine best-suited as a family motorcycle. It has best-in-class mileage of 78 kmpl.

Similarly, the YZF R3 incorporates a newly developed 321cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, in-line two-cylinder, fuel-injected engine. The motorcycle’s powerful engine churns out peak power of 42 Ps at 10,750 rpm. With all-new engine and chassis designs, the YZF-R3 sports a solid combination of class-leading power and a lightweight body that achieves high levels of riding performance and styling worthy of the superbike.

Likewise, the new R15 shares the same DNA as that of Yamaha R1, but has a number of aggressive new features. It boasts true Japanese technology, and the 150cc Yamaha engine incorporated in this machine churns out maximum output of 17 Ps at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 15 nm at 7,500 rpm.

Benelli

Ktm International has launched three models of Italian motorcycle Benelli i.e TNT 300, 600I and 600GT on the occasion of NADA Auto show.

TNT 300:

TNT 300 which has 6-speed gearbox which has a maximum power of 37.73bhp@ 11500rpm and produces a maximum Torque of 26.5Nm @1000 rpm. TNT 300 lengths seat height of 795mm and ground clearance of 160mm. it weighs 196 kg.

TNT 600i:

The new TNT 600i is powered by 600 cc, 4-stroke, 16 valves, 4-cylinder DOHC engine which is liquid cooled. It produces 83.90 BHP @ 11,500 rpm and a torque of 54.6 NM @ 10,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a six speed gearbox.

Suspension work is handled by inverted telescopic forks with 120 mm stroke at the front and a hydraulic Benelli 123mm monoshock absorber at the rear. Braking is in the hands of 320 mm twin floating discs with radial mounted 4-piston calipers for the front and 260 mm single disc with double piston caliper at the rear. The bike has 150 mm of ground clearance and a 15 litre fuel tank.

600 GT:

The GT has an in-line four-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled engine, as run in the popular BN 600R. The engine has a maximum power of 60 kW (82 hp) at 11000 rev/min and maximum torque of 55 Nm at 8000 rpm. The liquid cooled 4-stroke 4-valve DOHC inline-4 cylinder engine. It has electronic fuel injection with four bodies (38 mm in diameter), a 6-speed transmission, with clutch in oil bath.

Pulsar:

The Pulsar RS200 comes with “innovative and superior technology”, a 200 cc, 4-valve engine, and “eye-catching design”.

The RS200 gets Bajaj’s triple-spark technology, and the manufacturer claims this helps in ideal engine speeds especially at cruising or high-speeds. Basically though, the Bajaj Pulsar 200 RS borrows its engine from the 200 NS. The 199.5 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine produces 24.4 PS at 9,500 rpm and 18.6 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. In comparison, the Pulsar 200 NS makes 23.52 PS and 18.3 Nm of torque at the same revs. Naturally, a 6-speed gearbox will do duty on the motorcycle.

Vespa:

Touted as being elegant and youthful, Vespa’s unique design expresses a dynamic and lively character. Vespa VX and Vespa S, ride on a very efficient 125cc, 3 valve engine delivering excellent performance. Both the models are loaded with features such as disc brake, tubeless tyres, single piece monocoque steel body and many more. Vespa scooters are available in different four colors.

Suzuki:

VG Automobiles Pvt. Ltd., the authorized importer and distributor of the Suzuki motorbikes for Nepal, has unveiled Gixxer SF, a new breed of 155CC premium fully faired street sports bike.

Gixxer SF is Suzuki's flagship model for the Nepalese market, boasting a pioneering style & sophisticated sporty appearance, combined with exceptional riding performance and the best fuel economy in its class for the market.

Embodied in a sharp and edgy look, Gixxer SF has been developed in the same wind-tunnel where the legendary Hayabusa, GXX-R and MotoGP machine are developed.  The fairing has been designed to give maximum wind protection to the rider reducing turbulence and drag, providing great Aerodynamic efficiency. The design of the bike provides a higher down force for stable braking and lower drag for better handling in high speed range, further reads the statement.

The bike’s additional attractions include telescopic front suspension and mono-shock suspension and swing arm at the rear.
