How to choose a tie

While choosing a tie, it is necessary that we look for ties that sink well with our shirt. Silk ties are more appropriate and trendy. In terms of color, choose a shade that compliments your shirt and suit. Select colors like black, burgundy, grey, navy blue and other dark colors. Similarly, you can also go for striped and dotted ties. Don’t go for vibrant colors. Instead, choose colors that are more sober and manly.

 

Choosing the proper size

Pick up a tie that touches the buckle of your belt. Short ties look funny and give you a look that might be considered untidy as a professional. If you want to wear short ties, make sure that you wear a waistcoat. A tie should not be too loose or too tight. Be sure it fits well around your neck.

 

Matching your tie and shirt

If you are planning to wear a striped shirt, don’t wear a striped tie or a dotted tie. Striped shirt and striped tie is a blunder. So, wear dotted or striped ties only with plain shirts.Wear the ties properly. Insert it under the collar of your shirt properly and ensure that it fits in well within the collar so that it does not derange your look.

 

Knotting the tie

Knot is an essential component of tie wearing and an art as well. It is essential that you knot the tie properly. If you don’t know how to make a knot, consult someone or take help. But, make sure you have the perfect knot. A tie knot, not done properly, can give you clumsy looks so do understand that there is huge difference between ignorance and fashion. 

 

Wrinkled or Tainted Ties

A tie, when worn, is the focal point of your attire. Thus, if your tie is wrinkled or tainted, it will grab unnecessary attention and ruin the efforts that the rest of your attire put up. While tie cannot be washed and ironed again and again, as they are very delicate, hang your tie properly in the hanger. Similarly, untie the knot everytime after wearing 

it so that the fabric does not 

get spoiled.

 

Accessory Overkill

When you wear a tie, a brooch can look fine. But, don’t overdo it with excessive accessories like tie-pin, chains, collar bars and other neck jewelleries. A tie looks elegant and fashionable, when kept simple.
