Along with woolen and other warm clothes, the chilling temperature has paved the way for the boots to rein the fashion market and presently they are most demanded footwear products in the ladies footwear sections of any store. Besides coming in eye catchy and adorable designs, boots have come in demand for the comfort and warmth they provide. They are the best option when it comes to protect well-cared-for feet from the harsh cold of winter and the dusty Kathmandu roads. There are various designs of boots such as the knee length boots, the ankle boots and the thigh high boots, for the ladies to flaunt.

“Boots are the most demanded footwear this season. This winter majority of our customers have been demanding them. The demand is higher compared to the previous year,” says Ashok Maharjan, owner of Tick-Tac-Toe at the People’s Plaza.Informing that his store deals in varieties of brand, he said that Timberland boots have been the most popular among the store’s customer.

Every woman has the desire of being fashionable and stylish while being comfortable and warm in winter. A perfect pair of stylish branded boots provides the best of style and warmth. Clothes and make-up say a lot about a woman, and a personality-matching pair of boots can enhance her overall appearance and femininity. So when women have so much to adore their wardrobe, why deprive self from owning a classy pair of trendy boots.

Boots represent the vigor and the teen spirit. “Boots these days have become fetish among teenage girls. Major of our teenage customers look for boots,” opines Kumar Thapa, owner of Shreedhara Collection. Along with that, Thapa said that short boots have thrown long boots out of fashion.

With the surge in demand, boots are doing remarkable business in Kathmandu. Considering the limelight these products have received from the customers, every shop has been trying to put up special selection of boots available at a varied range of prices. “We offer every type of boots such as casual boots, party boots and fancy boots at a price range between Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 9,000,” says Rajeev Verma, Manager at Bentley, Durbarmarg.

Boots sold in the capital’s shoe market are imported. Most of these boots are imported from countries like Bangkok, Korea and China. As mercury in the capital continues to dive, boot sales have remained pretty good. Tick-Tac-Toe’s Maharjan said that at times they receive 50 to 60 boot customers on a single day. And considering the boot craze among the ladies, the boot business promises to remain in business for some time now.
