Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested top four officials of the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) including the Officiating Executive Director Suresh Kumar Agrawal last Tuesday on the charge of distributing bonus to NOC staff by violating its earlier directive. The Commission had earlier directed the NOC to not distribute bonuses until the state-owned corporation cleared its accumulated loss. </div>

The other arrested persons are Director Nagendra Shah and Managers Kamal Prasad Sharma and Netra Prasad Kafle. Following the arrest, the CIAA presented them before the Special Court last Wednesday. They have been sent for a seven-day judicial custody by the Special Court.</div>

Meanwhile, the CIAA also arrested Nepal Oil Corporation Trade Union Chairman Devi Prasad Neupane last Friday on the charge of obstructing the investigation it had launched against NOC officials. Earlier on Wednesday, Neupane, who is also Senior Assistant at the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), had issued the statement in a press conference defending the bonus distribution.</div>',
