NATTA Chapter Established
Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), Palpa has been established with the aim to promote tourism.  The association has been esablished as an umbrella organisation for the promotion and expansion of various tourism activities in Palpa, said the Chairman of the association, Pradip Prasad Udaya. The agencies are providing air tickets, train tickets, trekking, rafting, bicycling and other tour packages.  The association has aimed to promote and preserve the historical, natural, cultural and religious heritage of Palpa. 
 
Nepal promoted in Mumbai and Goa
Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) participated in the promotional tour of western Indian cities organized by Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) Regional Association, Pokhara. With almost 40 flights per week to Kathmandu, air connectivity with India has shown a significant improvement. Based on these indicators, NATTA Pokhara and organized the week-long promotional tour focusing on Mumbai and Goa from  1-8 August 2013, says a press release. 
 
The Mumbai leg of the program on August 2 was attended by the local trade community and. According to the release, the B2B session provided the delegation members a platform to forge new business alliances and renew the existing ones. Nepal’s tourism products, services and facilitation issues were highlighted in the event. The Goa leg of the program on August 5 was attended by local tourism fraternity and media. 
 
Cathay Pacific’s 2013 Interim Results
The Cathay Pacific GroupThe Cathay Pacific Group has reported a profit of HK$ 24 million in the first six months of 2013. This compares to a restated loss of HK$ 929 million in the first half of 2012. Earnings per share were HK 0.6 cents compared to a restated loss per share of HK 23.6 cents in the first half of 2012. Turnover for the period fell by 0.6 per ent to HK$ 48,584 million. In the first half of 2013, the Group’s net fuel costs decreased by 8.5 per cent compared to the same period in 2012. The passenger business of Cathay Pacific and Dragonair improved in the first half of 2013 compared to the same period in 2012. Revenue increased by 0.8 per cent to HK$ 34,978 million, although capacity decreased by 4.8 per cent. The load factor has increased by 1.2 percentage points to 81.3 per cent. 
 
The Potentials of 2014 World Cup for Brazil
2014 World Cup for BrazilA special study conducted by the Brazilian Tourism Board (Embratur) shows that tourism for the 2014 World Cup will generate US$ 10.9 billion for the 12 host cities of the games. This amount surpasses the public investments to prepare for the global event. 
 
This figure includes spending by Brazilian and domestic tourists. On the local, state and Federal level US$ 9.5 billion has been invested in the infrastructure improvements to prepare for the event. This will generate a US$1.4 billion gain for the economy of Brazil in just the 30 days of the event alone. In addition, the legacy of the improvements will last far beyond the World Cup. At the Confederations Cup held in June of this year, it is estimated that tourists - Brazilians and foreign - spent about US$ 321.79 million. (Traveldailynews.com)
